Kagura POV
"It seems Rogue has suffered a balanced curse," Porlyusica spoke.
"What do you mean?"
"Someone cursed him to where if he forgets something bad, he forgets something good. Meaning he had to forget the thing he loves the most."
"So, me?" I questioned.
"It seems so. You could feel honored, but I could be wrong."
"Will he remember me?"
"It's unknown. It's like a living coma. He could regain memory in days or up to years."
"Is there a way to make him remember me sooner?"
"I'm afraid not. I would say, try to make him remember why he loved you in the first place."
"Okay, thank you."
"You're welcome, child."
"Oh, Porlyusica?"
"What is it now?"
"Do you know what a mate is?"
"Pfft, yeah. I've been wondering when you were going to ask me that."
"Why?"
"Your mark on your neck."
"Oh, right. Could you tell me everything you know about it?"
"Sure. We should sit down for this."
She took me into an office room.
"Is this necessary?"
"Yes."
"Okay."
"A mate is the dragon's version of a soulmate. It's rare, but it can happen. It only happens for dragons and dragon slayers. They mark their mate, and if they have sex, the mate will most likely get pregnant."
"Say what now?"
"The mark means mating season. If you have it and have sex with them, then you will most likely get pregnant. It will go away until the deed has been done."
"What in the,"
"In your case, Rogue has seemed to forget about you. You have to try to do many things to make him recognize you."
"Does any of our feelings change towards each other?"
"No, you guys are still the same. It's when you have sex you will probably get pregnant."
"What if I don't want that yet?"
"Then you don't have sex."
"Are you saying I have to get close to Rogue so he can remember me, but not too close so I don't get pregnant?"
"Yes."
"This is absurd."
"I know, but you're pretty lucky. It's the literal universe telling you he's your soulmate."
"I guess, but he might not remember me."
"You never know. The most effective way is to make him recall why he loved you in the first place."
"Okay, thank you so much."
"You're welcome, child. Now I need to see my child to report on your lover."

"But he is." She exited the room.
What did I get myself into?
I returned to Rogue's room. I guess I have to try to make him remember me.
"Hi," I spoke.
"Hello."
"As it seems you don't remember me, we should start over."
"Okay, you go first."
"Kagura Mikazuchi."
I held out my hand.
"Rogue Cheney."
We shook hands.
"Do you have powers?"
"I'm a swordswoman from Mermaid Heel and have gravity magic."
"That's cool. I'm a shadow dragon slayer from Sabertooth. Do you have any siblings?"
"I had an older brother, Simon."
"Where is he now?"
"Dead."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"It's okay. It's been years since he died."
"What's with the white ribbon?"
"I don't know. It's my signature look. I wore it ever since my dad gave it to me."
"That's nice. I have no siblings, but Sting is like a brother to me. What's your favorite song?"

"From La La Land?"
"That's the one."
"My foster parent used to sing that song to me growing up."
"I've heard."
"How much do you know about me?"
"A lot."
"I see. I guess I have to relearn about you."
"I guess so."
"Do you know how long I liked you?"
"A few years."
"Damn! And when did I confess?"
"Well, I found out last year because you were drunk, and then you kissed me two weeks ago."
"I have no game."
"Yeah, but it's okay."
"Did you like me back?"
"Do I have to say?"
"No, but I think I know now. When can I get out of here?"

Kagura POV
"Come on, girls. Let's open up gifts," I tell my guild mates.
"Coming, Kagura!" They all came downstairs.
We were all enjoying Christmas Day together. We did each other's hair and outfits and made Christmas desserts together.
"Kagura! You look so pretty with wavy hair!" Milliana comments.
"You think?"
"Yes, girl! I bet Mr. Rogue Cheney would be drooling for you if he saw you!" Risley adds.
I blushed.
"RISLEY!"
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"I'll get it." Arana got up.
I took the dirty dishes to our kitchen. Arana opened the door.
"Speaking of which."
She left the door wide open.
"Hi, is Kagura here?" A man asks.
"Yes, she is. KAGURA!"
"What?"
I come out.
"Oh- Hi, Rogue...What are you doing here?"
"I got you a gift."
"Oh, that's not necessary."
"No, I insist. Can we talk in private?"
"Sure."
I grabbed a blanket and went outside with him.
"What's up?"
"I wanted to give you this as an apology and a thank you."
He handed me a small box. I opened the container, and it revealed a moon pendant.
"Oh, my god."
"It's Skiadrum's pendant."
"Rogue..."
"Skiadrum told me to give it to someone special, and I want you to have it."
"You don't even remember me."
"Yes, but everyone told me how special you are to me. I only remember you from the past two months, but you are incredible."
"I don't want to take this right now. I want you to remember all the memories we've had together."
"I thought you would say that."
Shivers climbed down my spine. I was still freezing in my cloak. Rogue noticed, so he took my blanket and wrapped it around the two of us. His hug warmed the two of us. I could tell my face was turning red.
"Do you feel better now?"
"Yeah, thanks."
"I don't recall the past few years with you, but I know I care about you right now."
"I know."
"Could we try us?"
"I want to wait. I love you, but two months is too early for you."
"I understand."
"You can see other people until you recall your memories."
"I don't want to."
"Yeah, but you can if you want. You have my approval."
"At least take the pendant. I insist."
"Okay. Thank you, I love it."
"Merry Christmas, Kagura."
"Merry Christmas, Ryos."
"And you know my given name?"
"I know a lot about you."

Rogue POV
It was Valentine's Day night, and Blue Pegasus was hosting a Valentine's party. Minerva and I were at the bar talking about our problems.
"Do you still not recall her?" Minerva asks me.
"Nope. It was all blank before I was hospitalized. How are you?"
She drank her third glass of margarita.
"I miss him."
"I can see that. Why did you guys break up again?"
"Because he doesn't want freaking kids."
"How do you know that?"
"I got attached to Athena, and I later asked him if he wanted kids, and he said no."
"Awh, I'm sorry."
She consumed another margarita.
"You should calm down on the alcohol."
"No, I won't. I won't because it's freaking Valentine's Day, and I don't have a date! I'm hot, and I'm sexy. People want me, and I'm hungover from my breakup."
"Okay."
"Ugh, I just want sex. Meaningless sex."
"Um- hello?"
"What?"
"I'm here."
"What?"
"I can be the meaningless sex."
"PFFTT! You did not just say that."
"I mean it. Kagura won't be with me until I can remember her, and you're helplessly lonely. You want sex, and here I am."
"You serious?"
"Yeah. We've already done it. It won't be some random person."
"We were pretty good. Okay, let's do it."
"We can go to my place, and I'm driving."

I took Minerva to my place. Once I opened the door, Minerva shut the door. I slammed her to the wall, and we kissed.
"Frosch is not here, right?" She asked between each kiss.
"Nope. We're good."
I unzipped her dress, and she climbed out of it. She unbuttoned my blouse and my pants. I carried her to my bed while she unhooked her bra. I pulled down my boxers while she did the same.

"Wow, we have not done that in a while," I spoke.
"I miss her..."
"Athena?"
"Yeah,"
"Why don't you adopt her?"
"I can't do that."
"And why not?"
"I- I don't know."
"So what's stopping you?"
"I probably won't be able to pass the background check."
"You never know. You've never been so attached to kids until you met her. She means something to you."
"Yeah, you're right. But would they let a single woman with an abusive dad and an absent mom adopt an infant?"
"Or, they'll let you adopt her because you're the strongest member of Sabertooth. I'm sure they'll approve."
"But-"
"You might as well try."
"Yeah, you're right!"
"Go for it!"
"Yeah! Thanks!"
She pecked my lips and changed back into her clothes.
I feel good now...
But guilt struck me.
