This was a terrible idea.
And one she wanted no part of.
"Come on, noona, it will be funny."
Funny wasn't a word she would use for what they had planned for Jungkook's sixteenth birthday surprise that the cameras were ready to capture and even Bang PD was in on. Her silent disapproval was taken no notice of and it was ridiculously hard to keep quiet, to keep her eyes down and to listen to what was coming out of everyone's mouths.
It was even harder to ignore Jungkook.
They had finally started to get close and he looked up to her as an older sister, somewhat mother. For her to stay silent as Bang PD reprimanded Jungkook for his poor performance was hard to swallow. No one was leaping to his defence.
She could see the doe-eyed bambi struggle to hold back the tears and she felt her nails dig into the skin of her arms. She was all for good surprises but on a sixteen year old who was impressionable and still young, it wasn't her idea of a birthday surprise.
Of course, the moment Yoongi came in with the birthday cake and everyone was singing happy birthday, it was all over. The joke had been laughed at, Jungkook had complimented everyone on their acting and it was over.
For Grace, not so much.
She felt protective. He was a young kid who had joined the company not long ago and was the youngest out of everyone. His parents weren't there to protect him, they weren't there to make sure he went to school and ate on time, to make sure he woke up.
She did all that and more.
"Uh oh, we've pissed Gigi off," Yoongi commented under his breath to Namjoon who glanced over at the female member and froze.
If looks could kill, they'd be 6ft under and counting.
"Ah noona, it was just a joke. It was really funny," Jungkook tried to sooth around a mouthful of birthday cake.
The steel couldn't be melted out of Grace's eyes.
"Do that again and you'll find pictures of yourselves in your underwear on Twitter," Grace finally warned as she looked at every single boy there.
Moment broken, Grace reached over and wiped the corner of Jungkook's mouth clean. "Come on birthday boy, noona will treat you to lamb skewers."
