"About the hero work studies that are like a more serious version of the internships, where you go to where pro pro heroes work and help them... We talked about them at our faculty meeting yesterday, and almost all the teachers, including the principal, thought you shouldn't do them." Aizawa says, stunning the class into silence before—
"WHAT?!"
"After we had that big meeting about it?" Kirishima complains.
"But thinking about why we ended up in the dorms, I guess that makes sense..." Kaminari admits with a sigh.
"Serves you right!" Bakugo mocks loudly, grinning ear-to-ears
"Lame..." Y/n sighs, fidgeting with her pen out of boredom.
"But some think we won't be able to raise strong heroes with our current policies, so we came to the decision that first years will only be allowed to go to agencies with a good track record of accepting work study students." Aizawa elaborates.
Ignoring the cheers of some students and a loud 'DAMN IT' from Bakugo, Y/n looks down at her desk.
A good track record of accepting students...

"You want me to introduce you two to Sir Nighteye for a work study?" All Might asks the two students.
"Izuku does. And I'm going to whatever work study he does." Y/n shrugs, standing next to Izuku as she stays looking down at her phone, tapping the buttons on screen quickly, switching to Haxxor Bunny as she lets out a barely audible sigh of relief when the last enemy quickly dies.
"Yes! He's one of the few heroes who has worked under you!" Izuku exclaims energetically.
All Might sighs, "Sir Nighteye, huh? Where did his name come up?
Izuku explains how he called Gran Torino and the man mentioned Nighteye.
"You wanted to get a head start on the work studies, so you called Gran Torino, huh?" All Might repeats what Izuku told him.
"Please!" Izuku bows deeply.
"I refuse." All Might rejects as as Izuku freezes, "I'm not saying that to be mean. There are three reasons; one, in the meeting yesterday, I opposed the work studies. I think first years don't necessarily have to start now. Two, I think you should power-up your Shoot Style before you participate. Three, Sir Nighteye. There are reasons that make it hard for me to talk to him."
"Letting personal feelings be part of the reason you say no is completely unfair." Y/n huffs, glaring at All Might.
"All Might..." Izuku stands up straightly, "Kacchan told me not to lose when someone already laid the groundwork for me. My Quirk is similar to yours, All Might. If I'm working for Nighteye, then I think I'll be compared to you. I need to get many times stronger then everyone else!"
"I don't dislike that attitude, but I still can't introduce you." All Might's tone was apologetic but smiles at the two as he continues, "I can't, anyway."
Y/n and Izuku look at each other, shrugging in shared confusion.

Y/n sits near the edge of the couch, sitting to the very left with her knees curled to her chest, leaning against the armrest as she looks past Izuku to Mirio, who had joined the three after All Might called for him.
"Um, I don't really understand what's going on..." Izuku told All Might sheepishly
"What a coincidence, right? Me neither!" Mirio agrees.
Y/n deadpans at them.
"Young Togata is currently doing his work study under Nighteye." All Might explains, catching the attention of all three students.
"Is that true, Togata?!" Izuku exclaims with wide eyes.
"Yup! I've been with him for a year now!" Mirio exclaims enthusiastically.
"Then, when you graduate, you're pretty much guaranteed to be his sidekick, huh?" Izuku awes.
"As long as Sir doesn't change his mind."
"That's so cool!"
Y/n feels her lips twitch up into a small smile for the first time since Magne's death at the sight of Izuku being so energetic.
"Getting straight to the point, do you think Young Midoriya and Young L/n can work under Nighteye, Young Togata?" All Might asks.
"I see, so this is what you called me out to talk about, right?" Mirio swings and arm around both Izuku and Y/n, startling the two. "You want me to introduce Midoriya and L/n to Sir!"
"Yeah."
"But why use me as the middleman?" Mirio asks, confused, "Sir would be really happy if you talked to him directly. He's always watching videos of you when he has time."
Y/n raises an eyebrow, looking at All Might with an unreadable expression.
"Honestly, I can't really face him right now... Because in the end, I ended up exactly as he warned..." All Might trails off ominously.
The three students stare at the man silently, unsure what to make of that sentence.
"So anyway, what do you think about Young Midoriya and Young L/n?" All Might asks as Mirio (finally) let's go of the two.
"Well..." Mirio trails off before looking at the two, "What kind of heroes do you two want to be?"
"What kind...?" Izuku frowns thoughtfully.
"I want to save everyone with a smile, no matter—" Izuku pauses, remembering how worried his mom was after what happened at the mall.
"I want to be strong enough that no one will worry about me. To always win..." Izuku remembers his fight with Bakugo, "To always save everyone..." Izuku remembers the fight with Muscular he had in order to save Kota, "To always protect the people I love..." Izuku remembers the fear he felt when he heard Y/n had been kidnapped at the training camp, "I want to be... The greatest hero."
Y/n thought over her answer before sighing, "I... don't have a good reason like Izuku. I, admittedly, did this out of boredom but if I had to answer now..."
Y/n remembers her time with the people she cares about, going out as a class with 1-A, committing petty crimes with the League, training with Izuku or helping him study, playing games online with Tomura... Hell, even just knowing that Touya is alive...
"I... want to be able to protect the people I care about no matter what happens."
