2015 (flashback)
Lirian is 8 years old here
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥Lirian let out a disinterested groan as she sat down on the unfriendly and damp pavement taking a look at the twitching body of a man she had just fought for a bit of cash.
The sight of the bloodied man didn't seem to bother her as much as the thought of what she would eat tonight, the note she had beaten the man for barely being enough to buy even a loaf of bread let alone a meal.
She threw her head back and exhaled deeply as she heard her stomach growl.
"Hey kid! Nice fight!"
A beautiful lady with long blonde hair yelled as she got off the motorcycle.
"Huh?"
"So when it comes to women, what's your type?" she said as she removed her goggles
"I'm a girl" Lirian sneered as the woman seemed to physically deflate at her tone. "My bad girlie, you look so scruffy I couldn't tell" she beamed, making her way towards the scruffy child trying to make a light-hearted joke
Before Lirian could respond she heard a low and distorted mumble coming from the direction of the Man she had beaten half to death. A hideous and alien-looking creature came out of the ground-speaking nonsense she couldn't make out.
"I hate these things" she murmured
This wasn't the first time she had seen these apparitions, they were everywhere in slums like these yet it seemed no one else was able to see them, usually she would make a run for it anytime she saw them but just as she started backing away, the mysterious woman from behind her outstretched her arm exorcising the apparition with ease to the young girls astonishment.
"I knew you could see them" she said to Lirians confusion
"How did you do that??" The young girl nearly screamed with excitement jumping up and down as the blonde let out a hearty laugh. "And here I thought I wouldn't be able to impress you, what's your name?" She asked bending down to her level
"Lirian, just Lirian," she said
"We'll Lirian, my names yuki tsukumo" She smiled before looking around.
"Where are your parents?" she questioned wondering why this child seemed unaware of stranger danger
"They kicked me out after I tried to warn them about those spirit things" she said gesturing to where the man lay, still unconscious, "said it was demonic and some shit" she shrugged
"Damn," Yuki sighed as she brought her hand to her hips in deep thought.
"Why don't you come with me? You already have a substantial amount of cursed energy so I can train you I already have another kid back at home that I'm training" she beamed making Lirians eyes light up. She didn't want to admit it but the thought of having a home again was all she ever wanted
"Let me think," she said as she brought her hand to her chin "Sure!" She smiled after a couple of seconds causing the lady to laugh again. "I can tell your stubborn, but I like that!" Yuki said ruffling the girls tangled hair
"Where do you live anyways? And what do you mean by training" Lirian asked, being able to tell she was not from her country
"Wellllllll" she said slowly spinning around
"I am from Japan, but I promise you you'll have a good life there," Yuki said quickly
"I've always wanted to live in a foreign country" she gasped seeing this as an opportunity for a new life
"But what about the training?"
"You see that ugly thing I killed?" Yuki said, again pointing the where the man lay "I can teach you how to kill them yourself, and you'll be just like me" she beamed pointing at herself
"I don't mind that, you seem super strong. I like that" she shrugged as yuki stared at her for a few seconds
"I love you already!" Yuki squealed picking her up and taking the girl to her motorcycle.
"Yuki put me down!" She grunted trying to worm her way out of her new guardians grip
"Nope!" she smiled at she sat her down on her motorcycle giving the young girl a helmet
