The Crimson Tyrant
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

You stood there, not quite sure what to do. Seeing a rampaging Deuce throwing over the delinquents everywhere, stumbling them down with the impact of his fists. He was like a madman punching here and there. Although it would be a lie if you say that you're not impressed.

"And next time when you're eating eggs, apologize to them a hundred of times first!"

Then again, you knew what he was doing now is so wrong, and you needed him to stop. If the word got out about this, especially to the Headmaster, it might not be wonderful news but rather expulsion.

Of course, you wouldn't want that. No matter how satisfying the way Deuce fights. It reminded you of a friend back home, so determined to teach you throwing punches.

"Wait, Deuce. Another punch, and you'll surely be expelled this time." You warned. Seeing his fist in the air stopping midway from punching.

With his paused state, these mess of delinquents took the opportunity and made a run for it. As they stumbled up on their feet and left you three alone in silence. You stared at Deuce's frozen figure for a moment in worry, and then decided to edge towards him slowly.

"Deuce-"

"I... I did it again." You immediately stopped your steps. "I promised I'm gonna be a model student this time, and yet..!!"

You watched Deuce who weakly dropped onto his knees and began to ramble out something about him being a rebellious delinquent back in junior high. Especially during those days, he kept getting in trouble and made his mother disappointed at his actions. He eventually made a promise that he'll never take the smile his mother has when he got an invitation in the academy, promising to exclude into fights and be a model student.

"But, truthfully, enduring all that doesn't make you a model student at all. It's actually more than that, Deuce." The said spade looked up at you, caught off guard by those words.

Grim then raised a paw in agreement, "Those icky delinquents deserved ten more punches, don't you think? [m.name] will definitely nag me if I have to take care of it though." The cat said and casted a narrowed glance at you.

You raised a brow. "Damn right I would." And with that you turned your attention towards the spade who began to space out.

"But Deuce, you should know by now that violence doesn't actually solve anything. At all." You then knelt in-front of him in a formal manner. Hands on your lap, wearing the most determined look Deuce has ever seen you.

"Hang in there... You can still bounce back and learn from your previous mistakes, achieving your goal someday to make your mother proud too, I'm sure." A soft smile formed on your lips as you took his hands on yours, gripping them comfortingly.

"With a son like you, I'm sure she is prouder than ever as long as you do your best. Remember that this is just the start of your new path. Alright?"

Once again, Deuce was speechless. He expected you to be disappointed as you're a student with no magic yourself, and knows that you dislike getting into fights.

Yet here you are, sharing with words that made his eyes quite watery. You can tell that this was all new for him and is not really used to it.

"You guys..." Deuce mumbled, a bashful smile on his face. He was so touched for sure, as he felt a warm feeling engulfing him from the feeling of your hands on his. Your hands were rough, but it was comforting to hold at. Then he wondered why your soft-looking face was so different from your rough hands.

He likes it nonetheless, it just fits you so well.

But his moment was cut short when you suddenly let go, unaware of the disappointment Deuce held for a moment as he watched you stand up with a soft grin. His hands twitched, probably not wanting to let go just yet.

"Besides, being a model student does not always have to be the smartest one or the one with the best grades, but with willingness, I think you'll do great." You winked, catching poor Deuce off guard as his heart was already beating rapidly. Oh, you'll be the death of him.

"So being angry or anything that releases stress is good for you. Just don't get too into it though." You added.

"Really?" He sighed followed by a chuckle out of relief. "I see then... The chicks will probably feel at ease now, too, huh?"

It was your turn to go silent at the spade's sudden innocence. Or was it just clear cluelessness? But he looks so sure about it too. You don't think he knows, so it's probably good to break the ice.

"Actually it's hard to say, but there's no chicks to begin with if it's unfertilized, so they won't hatch in the first place."

"WHAT?! You've gotta be kidding me!!!"

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

With enough explanation of the chicken process to a poor and shocked Deuce, the three of you were already back at the kitchen with Trey and Ace inside, continuing on making the Mont Blanc. With final mixing and baking, everything was done and so did the Mont Blanc that was gloriously placed in-front of you.

"With finishing touches... Perfect!"

With a grin, you lightly clapped your hands as you turned to Trey who gave you an accomplished grin and a thumbs up.

"P-perfect..." You heard from the slumped Deuce behind you. With his sudden change of mood, Ace decided to approach you and lightly nudge you with his elbow.

"What got into him while you guys were out?" He asked, pointing a thumb at the mumbling spade.

You shrugged, "Well, chicken trauma. Let him be for a while, he should be fine."

"'Sup guys? Everybody working hard?" Alas, Cater entered with a smile and approached your group whilst praising the wonderful tart you all made.

"Can I put this up on MagiCam? It looks so good!" He added. Trey chuckled at his antics and placed extra sliced tarts on plates for everyone to eat. It was a good thing you made extra, you're getting hungry yourself just by making it.

"These slices are for you guys. Help yourselves to some freshly made Mont Blanc." Trey said. With Grim and Cater celebrating to eat in tow.

"Convenient of you to show up just to taste test." A grumbling Ace piped in.

You watched them with content until a plate with a slice of tart was handed to you. [eye color] eyes darting to the green haired senior who you nodded your head in acknowledgment.

"A plate for you, [m.name]." He said, "Thanks for the help, I couldn't have done it without you. Like you said, they're surely a handful."

A chuckle left your lips, "They actually do." With a bite of tart, your eyes lightened up at the amazing flavors popping onto your tongue.

"Oh, damn! So good!"

"It tastes better than store-bought, amazing!"

"Yummy! It's sweet, but it's not overpowering. My mouth feels like it's in a field of chestnuts, yanno!"

You lightly laughed at Grim's descriptive comment. He sounds like a food critic that gives out reviews of tasting foods. With his reaction, you can tell the tart was a 10/10. You're happy that they all liked it nonetheless.

"Oh, yeah!" Cater spoke, "Do the thing you do, for them, Trey!"

Curiously, you watched Trey asking you and the other first years your favorite foods. Which you all gave answers to. Watching as Trey pulled out his magic pen, it caught more of your attention.

"Alright, so here it goes." With a flick of his magic pen, a shine brightly emitted from the pen as you watched in awe. "[Doodle Suit]!"

"Now, have another bite of the Mont Blanc."

Obeying his suggestion as follows, you all took a forkful of your tarts and tasted it. [eye color] eyes widened as the sweetness of the tart was gone and was replaced by the familiar taste of [f/f]. It made a great fuss among the other first years.

"Amazing... Is it something to do with your unique magic, Senior Trey?" You asked out of curiosity.

"Mhm! To be precise, it's an ability that overwrites something. But since the effect only lasts a little while, it's kinda like a doodle. Thus, Doodle Suit." He said.

"If we use your Doodle Suit magic, then having an endless can of tuna isn't just a dream now!" Grim exclaimed with a mischievous grin. "It's a lot more amazing compared to that bully Riddle's magic!" He added as he was suddenly chopped in the head by you.

"Now, now. No need to compare other's magic, do we, Grim?" You warned, watching him pouting and rubbing his head to ease the pain. True, the dorm leader isn't probably the nicest but no need for this unnecessary banter. It's disgraceful.

"No..." Trey adjusted his glasses. "My magic is merely child's play next to the Prefect's magic. Our levels are just too different." He sighed.

"But still, it's impressive to have that kind of ability such as yours, Senior Trey." You spoke, letting the said senior catch off guard.

"Really? How so?" He asked, curious of your own opinion. It would be a lie if he says that you aren't that interesting, he paid attention at the ceremony and witnessed what the mirror told you.

You can't have "great and immense power" as the mirror said over nothing. There's something in you that they're all quite unsure of.

Humming, you glanced over at the others who were busy chatting about the sudden change of flavor in their tarts. Taking the chance to give your opinion.

"Well, for instance. If you think critically and train out of your boundaries, there's likely a possibility of overwriting something powerful than a slice of tart, don't you think?" You half-whispered and saw a clueless look on the senior's face, telling you to elaborate further. "Other than overwriting the simplest of things, it'll be possible to overwrite someone's abilities too. It might be tiring, that's why you have to train in order to avoid straining yourself."

There it is. A sudden surprised look on Trey's face as he watched your eyes casted by a shadow and was sure he could see your eyes glowing lowly. A small yet cold smile on your lips. He shuddered along with his spine. It seems like you're unaware of your behavior which was scary.

He sighed in relief though when you stopped and looked at the time. It was getting late.

"We're having the unbirthday party tomorrow. You guys better not be late." Trey spoke, regaining his composure. Your group nodded determinedly. Yet Ace turned to you with a sweat-drop.

"So, can I stay over the night again, [m.name]? It's so unfair because they won't let me back in the dorm..."

"Now, Ace. Don't put [m.name] on the spot." Trey jokingly piped in along with Grim. "Yeah! Pay up if you wanna free-load! Ten cans of tuna!"

"What?! Do you want me to sleep outside?!"

You chuckled, "Well, I really don't mind. But I hope you don't mind me borrowing the cookbook. Just curious about Twisted Wonderland classics."

"It's fine with me." Said Trey, handing you the said book. "Have to say that I'm letting Deuce stay over to keep an eye on Ace. You can return the book to me tomorrow so I can return it to the library."

"That's a great deal indeed. See you tomorrow!"

Parting your ways with the seniors, you went back to the Ramshackle Dorm to rest. Unaware of the chaos the Heartslabyul Dorm has when the two of the seniors return.
