Instead of going to orientation next, like we were supposed to, we were taken to an outside testing field. Apparently, the other class was doing the same thing as Izuku heard, and flinched, not noticed by anyone, an explosion that could only belong to Bakugo. Before Midnight could start explaining, Izuku raised his hand.
"Yes Midoriya?"
"Uhh Before we start, I would l-like to t-talk to
T-Toga about her q-quirk" Izuku stutters out.
"Go ahead, just go around the corner"
Once around the corner, Izuku doesn't wait to ask his question. "Do you have enough of your "resource" to get through this test?"
Himiko immediately tensed up. Did he know about her "resource"? Would he reject her? Push her away? Call her a villain? "N-no" she hesitantly replies.
"Do you drink it from a cup or bag or some sort? Or do you drink it right from the body?"
Shit. He knew. But wait. He wasn't rejecting her. Was he offering her blood? Taking a chance she said "I uhh drink it right from the body".
"Okay that's good. I didn't have a knife or a cup on me... Sooo" Izuku hold his arm straight, eyes shut for the pain that he will experience "go ahead and take as much blood as you need for the test".
Himiko couldn't help it. She started crying, this went unnoticed by Izuku as he still had his eyes shut. She quickly latched onto his arm.
"Are you going to bite me or what?"
"I alrehdy dith"
Opening his eyes he sees Toga, facing away from him, but still obviously biting him. This sends him into a mutter mode. Toga only gathered "She must have pain nullifying agents in her saliva".
"Ok, I'm done now". She stopped crying. She was done a little while ago. She just wanted to stop crying. This snapped him out of his mutter.
"Also, I do believe that with enough training, you will be able to copy quirks with your transformations".
"Thank you. We should start heading back, we don't want to make them wait for much longer.
On the way back, people couldn't help but notice two things about them. Izuku's face was a little red. Himiko's eyes were red and a little puffy. Some, like Toru, believed that she was happy with his help. Others, mainly one, believed that their may have been a sexual assault. She would have to find out later.
"I get to run my class as I see fit. You've been taking standardized test all of your lives, but you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. Kendo, you had a high score in the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance you could throw a softball in junior high?" Midnight asked, uncharacteristically un-flirty.
"Around 58 meters mam" the orange haired-ponytailed girl said.
"Try doing it with your quirk".
Enlarging her hands, she threw the ball with a lot of force. With the ball sent, Midnight turns around showing a phone in her hand. The phone read the distance of the throw: 694 meters.
"Woah, 694 meters, that's a lot" Nejire said.
"I wanna go, this looks like fun" Mina exclaimed
Midnight frowns. "Yes fun. It is important for heroes to remember to have fun every now-and-then. They are people too. However, it won't always be fun. Today, you will take 8 physical tests. The person who comes in last will have extra homework".
"Isn't that a little unfair?" Ochaco asked.
"It is unfair, that is the point. As your teacher, I have to show you that the world will be unfair at times. Natural disasters, villain attacks, scandals are all unfair. Hell, there is a lot of bullying based on what your quirk is."
At this, Izuku quietly mutters "I know that more than most". He thought no one heard him, but Jiro overheard thanks to her quirk.
Quickly getting out of his "mood", Izuku immediately get nervous. He could only use zero or 100% of one for all.
"Midoriya, may I speak with you real quick?" Midnight asks.
"Uhh, yeah sure".
(Privately)
"I can tell, you don't have control of your quirk. As your teacher, I need to help you through that. Your focusing all your power in one place. I used to do that too. It would make my gas too potent to where it affected me as well. I had to work my way up to that. I did find a solution though. I had to spread it out all around my body. That is all I can tell you. You'll have to figure out the rest".
Izuku was then left to mull this over.
(Publicly)
"Before we begin, if Midoriya calls your name, you can go with and he will give you advice on your quirk."
"Now, the first test is the 50-meter dash. Get into Kendo, Momo, your first, get into positions."
While the test was starting, Midoriya asks "Pony, how strong are your horns?"
Pony stares, shocked "you know English?"
"Uhhh, y-yeah?" Izuku stutters.
"Ok, ok, ok, sorry, I got excited. My horns are pretty strong" She still looked all bubbly.
"Do you think you could ride on them?"
....
Proceed to Pony smacking herself for not thinking of it before, then getting second. She didn't get first because Momo made a motorcycle.
When it was Izuku's turn, he tried spreading the power out, and surprisingly, it worked. It felt weak though. Like only 1%. It still gave him a speed boost though. He got fifth, behind Tsuyu, who quickly jumped with her powerful legs, and Mina who "skated" using her acid.
The next test was grip strength. Immediately, Izuku noticed two things, or rather one thing replicated by two people. Walking over to the person he recalled to be Jiro, "Wh..."
"Don't even try it. I won't go crazy over the boy in our class, so you could just go away" Jiro growled.
"N-no, I wasn't t-trying to d-d-do t-that. I was just w-wondering why you were using your hands?"
"Umm, what else am I supposed to grip with?" Jiro replies, still with an attitude that yelled go away.
"Your quirk" Izuku deadpans.
Jiro is suddenly extremely embarrassed. "Thank you I guess".
Izuku turns toward Yanagi who was standing close enough by to have heard. "Same with you. Just use your telekinesis to press down on the grip".
"Thank you" Reiko replies, a bit spookily.
Yanagi got 1st, followed by Jiro, Ibara, Kendo, Tsuyu, and finally Izuku.
3rd was the standing long jump.
"Kinoko"
"Shroom?"
"Can you create fictional mushrooms? For example, a trampoline mushroom from a video game?"
...
"Shroomtastic idea"
Several people cleared the sandbox for the long jump. They included: Pony who floated on her horns, Ibarra who flung herself with her vines, Kinoko who bounced on her mushrooms, Tsuyu who simply jumped, Ochaco who floated herself (she vomited quickly after), Nejire who flew, and Togake who also flew while split.
Izuku didn't.
Repeated side steps were next.
Kinoko was the only notable one in this one. She simply bounced herself between two mushrooms.
The other three test went by quickly, no real noticeable people.
Then it was the ball throw. Ochaco and Yanagi each got infinity. When it was Izuku's turn, Midnight stopped him. "Izuku, I want you to throw two times. Once with your spread out mode and one with your full power mode. However, with your full power, I want you to find a way to not completely eliminate yourself from the fight. One more thing, what will you call your spread out mode?"
"Hmmmm, I'll call it Full Cowling."
"Okay, you may begin".
Izuku stepped up into the throwing circle. Going full cowling, electricity sparks up around him. Throwing the ball, he gets only 497 meters.
Then he goes up again. He charges up his full power in his arm, like the entrance exam. Then Midnight's words rang in his head. "Find a way to not eliminate himself from the battle". Remembering that, he powered down. As he was throwing it, at the last second, he activated One for All, only in his finger. His score was over 2000 meters. This, once again, shocked everyone at his strength. However, that was the end of the test.
