After hearing Eddie's tale, it's obvious that the Mind Flayer is probably back, and you feel sick about it.
Your fears are confirmed when you, Max, Dustin, Steve, and Robin find out from Nancy that her friend, Fred, has been killed in seemingly the same manner as Chrissy.
The plan is to talk to the school counselor, Ms. Kelley, to see if Chrissy and Fred had anything in common that would've caused them to be targeted. When Nancy starts to go off on her own, Steve huffs and remarks that you all need to stick together with, "... this Vecna creep on the loose."
Robin offers to go with Nancy to the library for Henry Creel research. She turns to you.
"What do you say, Waldenbooks?" she asks. "Want to put your nickname to good use and hit the books with us ladies?"
