(THE MEDIA THING HAS WHAT THE GIRLS ARE WEARING FOR THIS CHAPTER)
*NEXT DAY/Still Tami's POV*
So there is no school today and can you guess why? If you're thinking prom then we have a winner. School was shut because of prom, no one was going school because they wanted everything to be perfect for tonight like what is wrong with you people? It's just a stupid dance, I stared at my book before slamming it shut. I stood up from my desk and walked to my closet, I opened the door before bending down to grab the box that was laying on the floor. I closed the door with my foot before placing the box on my bed then opened it, stared at the dress that was in it before grabbing it and looking at it. It was my mum's, she gave it to me before she left. It was my mum's prom dress, when she gave it to me she told me that she wants me to wear it to my prom. How could I wear a dress for an event I'm not going to? I sat down on my bed and held the dress to my chest, I miss my mum she wasn't like my dad. She cared about me, she was there when I needed someone, she was my best friend and now she's not around. I moved the dress and stared at it before looking at the clock, 2:50pm. Prom doesn't start until 5, maybe I should go but only for my mum because I promised her I would go. I put the dress back into the box before standing up and walked to my closet then opened it again, I looked at the top shelf when my eyes landed on the perfect heels that would match the dress. I stood on my tiptoes and grabbed the shoes then put them on the bed next to the dress, I then looked around my room. Wait, how am I going to get there? I can't go on skateboard, I've got an idea. I quickly ran down and out the house to my neighbours house, I knocked on the door and waited. The door opened and there stood my kinda best friend Bradley it's hard to explain, he's basically more like my older brother but he is my neighbour plus he's been there for me ever since my mum died.
"Hey sis, what can I do for you?" Bradley asked
"Are you going prom today?" I asked, Bradley started to choke on air
"Are you planning on going?" Bradley asked
"Maybe" I said, you see Bradley knows about the bullying but he is a retake student so he's timetable is all of the place. Everyone knows that Bradley is like my brother so that's the only time no one messes with me because Bradley and his friends would stay near me
"I am going but you sure you want to go? After what happened today? My friends told me" Bradley said
"I'm sure, I have to. I made a promise to my mum I would go and wear her dress, I can't let it go to waste" I said
"You made a promise to your mum so I guess you can but you're staying with me and my friends at all times, you are going to stay away from the Sidemen crew and your not going to let anyone get to you. It's your last prom" Bradley said before hugging me which I returned
"Thank you" I mumbled against his jumper
"Anything for a sister" Bradley said before pulling away from the hug
"What time should I came over?" I asked
"I'll come knock for you don't worry" Bradley said, I smiled at him before leaving. I went back to my house and locked the door behind me then went upstairs
"Time to get ready for prom" I said to myself before getting to work
*SKIPPING TO WHEN BRADLEY SHOWS UP FOR PROM*
I finished curling my hair just as the doorbell rang, I quickly turned the plug off then grabbed my clutch bag with had my phone and house keys in. I put the curling iron on my table away from the plug switch then grabbed my heels and put them on before going downstairs, I moved my hair to one side of my shoulder and pushed my glasses up since they were sliding off my face. I opened the front door to find Bradley stood outside, he had his back to me
"Hi" I said, Bradley turned around and looked at me. He was wearing a black and white suit
"woah, you look gorgeous" Bradley said and stared at me
"Thanks I guess, the dress is mums" I said
"I can tell, it's something your mum would wear plus you did tell me that you will be wearing your mum's dress" Bradley said and held out his hand which I accepted, I locked the door behind me before following Bradley to his car. He helped me in before closing the door and jogging around to the drivers side then got in and closed the door behind him
"Time to go to prom" Bradley said before starting the car and leaving.
*SKIPPING TO THEM GETTING TO PROM*
Bradley helped me out of the car before we linked arms and walked in, whatever I do tonight I must stay away from the Sidemen no matter what. We both walked in and I felt people staring at me, probably because you said you wasn't going to go you idiot. I mentally shouted at myself. Me and Bradley ignored the looks and started to walk over to Bradley's friends but I couldn't help but notice a group staring at me, I looked at them to see the Sidemen and girlfriends staring at me with hate. My eyes locked with Simon and I could see nothing but anger, I quickly looked away
"This was a bad idea" I said to Bradley
"Hey, this is your last prom. Forget about everyone else but if it gets really uncomfortable then tell me and I'll take you home" Bradley said as we reached his friends, I smiled at his friends while Bradley did his handshake with his friends
"You alright Tami?" One of Bradley's friend asked
"I'm good" I said and smiled, we all sat down
"So Bradley did you tell her?" Another one of Bradley's friend said and nodded towards me
"Tell me what?" I asked confused
"Nothing, tell you nothing" Bradley said and shoot him friend a death glare, what is he hiding from me?
*SKIPPING A FEW HOURS/STILL AT PROM*
I was at the punch bowl getting some to drink when I turned around to see the Sidemen and their girlfriends stood there, Bradley was with his friends at the other side of the hall
"Well, will you look at that. The nerd decided to come to prom" Laurel said
"And she's here with a retake student, Bradley what a surprise." Simon said, I didn't say anything but look down
"Hello? We are talking to you" Leander said and yanked my hair
"ow" I said and looked up
"Why are you here?" Aria asked
"Everyone deserves to come to prom" I said
"Everyone deserves to come to prom" Simon mimicked me
"Boys drop it" Josh said, next thing I knew punch was poured all over me. I gasped and everyone stopped and stared at what was happened while I noticed Bradley and his friends rushing over
"WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM SIMON?" Bradley shouted and stood in front of me like a protective brother
"THIS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS BRADLEY" Simon shouted back
"YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS JUST DUMPED PUNCH ALL OVER HER. SHE IS MY BEST FRIEND, MY SISTER SO IT IS MY BUSINESS" Bradley shouted, I grabbed Bradley's arm. He looked at me
"Can we just leave? Please" I said with tears in my eyes, Bradley nodded his head while his friend gave me my bag. Bradley looked at Simon and took a step forward so they were literally face-to-face
"This.Isn't.Over" Bradley said before grabbing my hand and pulled me out of the crowd. We both walked out of the school building and into the car
"I'm going to kill him" Bradley said and pulled out of the parking lot, I didn't say anything and just looked down at my lap. It was quiet the rest of the way home, we both didn't say anything until we got to the driveway. Bradley turned the car off before turning around to look at me
"Tami, forget them" Bradley said, I looked at him with tears running down my face
"Why do they hate me so much?" I asked
"I don't know but I have a feeling it's because of me" Bradley said
"What do you mean?" I asked and wiped a tear, Bradley sighed
"Me and Simon grow up together, we were best friends. Simon was a nerd like you, he was quiet, shy and lacked confidence; I would always stand up for him. When him and JJ started to become close mates, me and him had a fall out. I picked on Simon from time to time, I did it because of the group I was in. I did everything I could to make his and JJ's school lives hell but then JJ dropout and Simon followed after. YouTube gave Simon that confidence that he never had, he wasn't in school anymore so he wasn't a nerd. Everything changed for him. Now he's trying to get back at me through you, when you first moved to that school; the sidemen were already there. I was your first friend but because of my timetable, you become an easy target. I'm sorry" Bradley said
"He's getting back at something that happened years ago? That can't be it, he hates me for two reasons. One could be what you said but the other we don't know, he hates me and turned his friends against me for some reason that we don't know. But it doesn't matter because I've got three days left in that hell hole then I'm free from them" I said and let another tear roll down my face
"Let's not talk about it alright" Bradley said, I nodded my head and kissed his cheek. I was about to get out when I was stopped by Bradley
"There is also something else" Bradley said and scratched his neck
"What is it?" I asked
"I'm going away for the holidays" Bradley said
"What?" I asked as more tears threaten to fall
"Me and the guys planned a trip to Vegas, I forgot about what happens at your house. If I remembered then I would have said no to the trip but yea I leave on Friday after school" Bradley said
"How long?" I asked
"The whole holiday" Bradley said, I smiled a little bit
"Have fun at the trip, you need the break away. I'll be fine" I said
"I just have a bad feeling about leaving you on your own with your parents" Bradley said
"I'll be fine plus your mum will be around so if something happens then I could just come over and talk to your mum" I said
"You sure? I could always cancel" Bradley said, I nodded my head
"I'm sure, you need this break" I said and we both got out the car, Bradley walked around and gave me a hug
"Thank you" I said
"What for?" Bradley said and pulled away from the hug
"For being there, for being my big brother" I said, Bradley smiled and kissed my forehead
"I'll always be there" Bradley said
"Night" I said
"Goodnight" Bradley said before I walked to my house and opened the front door, I walked in and closed the door behind me
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO YOUR MUM'S DRESS?" I heard someone shout, I looked up to see my dad. Sh*t they are back early
"I...I" I said
"YOU PIECE OF SH*T! HOW DARE YOU RUIN THE DRESS THAT MEANS A LOT TO YOUR MUM" Dad shouted and slapped me
"What's with the shouting?" My step-mum said as she walked downstairs, she looked at me
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE DRESS?" My step-mum shouted
"LOOK AT WHAT SHE DID KATE. SHE RUINED LILLY'S DRESS, THAT WAS LILLY'S PROM DRESS AND THIS USELESS PIECE OF SH*T RUINED IT" Dad shouted
"I'm sorry" I whimpered
"SORRY? SORRY ISN'T GOING TO HELP THE FACT YOU RUINED YOUR MUM'S DRESS" Dad shouted
"You are going to clean that dress with your hands until the stain is out" My step-mum said and grabbed my hair before dragging me upstairs to the bathroom, she pushed me onto the floor before leaving then returning with a jumper
"You wear that and take that dress off. It better be spotless when I get back" My step-mum said with disgust then slammed the door shut. This is my life at home, dad shouts at me while step-mum makes me clean until my hand is in pain from working. If I don't feel pain then dad use the belt, I hate my life and I wish I could just leave. I took the dress off along with my heels then throw on the jumper and started to clean the dress...
