I sat at his desk silently and watched him write on some papers.
He hasn't talked to me in 45 minutes.
I glanced back at the clock then glanced back at Ghost.
He glanced away from me and kept writing on his paper.
Does he actually need something from me?
Why is he just having me sit here?
After a few minutes I glanced at the clock again.
"Sir... if I may?"
He raised an eyebrow but didn't look at me.
"It's five minutes till curfew..."
He sighed and leaned back in his desk chair. He stretched and looked at his watch.
"Already?"
"Yes sir."
"You're dismissed."
I stood up and left.
I hurried back to my room and changed.
I got into the bed and Jay was staring at me.
"How was it?"
"Awful. I wish I had showered AFTER I did the laundry."
She giggled.
"That's gross. You don't smell though."
"Thanks."
She laughed and then stopped.
She went quiet and I glanced over my shoulder.
Ghost leaned against the doorway with his arms crossed.
Shit.
I put my head down on my pillow and the room went quiet.
Is he even allowed to be in the girls room?
I thought he needed to have another person with him.
But what do I know.
Jay looked at me and then closed her eyes.
"Do you know what curfew means?"
Jay and I opened our eyes and we looked at each other confused.
"It means shut the fuck up. Go to fucking sleep."
"Yes sir..." We all said and he grunted and when I looked back. He was gone.
He's so creepy and quiet.
He's like a little mouse.
More like a huge rat.
A big, ugly rat.
I closed my eyes and had a dream that I was chased by Ghost in a rat onesie and he forced me to watch him tap dance.
I woke up in a cold sweat and looked around. I'm so thirsty.
I reached for my bottle and felt it was empty.
Crap.
I set the bottle down and winced as a flashlight shined in my face.
"What are you doing up?"
It's Ghost. Great.
"Sorry, sir. It's just that-"
"Are you trying to wake the whole room? Be quiet."
"Sorry sir."
"Shut up and get over here."
I got out of bed and covered my chest with my arms.
It's freezing and I'm not wearing a bra.
"Now, what are you doing awake?"
"Sir, I apologize-"
"Stop fucking apologizing so much. I didn't ask for an apology, I asked why you're awake."
"I had a nightmare and I woke up thirsty. My bottle is empty though."
"That's your fault for not refilling it."
"Yes sir."
"Get your bottle and come with me."
I did as told and followed him to the kitchen.
"Fill up your bottle. And hurry up, you're not supposed to be out."
I blinked but hurried and filled my bottle.
"A nightmare, huh? What was it about?"
I was a bit taken aback by the question and I blushed.
I don't think he'll like the truth if I told him.
"Rats. I have a nightmare about rats."
Ghost snorted.
"That's a stupid nightmare. What we're they doing? Eating you alive?"
I thought back to tap dancing Ghost rat and gulped.
"Something like that."
