"i hope everyone had a good time in Las Vegas i know i did."
"i think all things considered the Abby Lee Dance Company hit the jackpot"
"okay, Mackenzie obviously you weren't with us"
"next we have Paige, although the solo didn't work out too well i thought you pulled it together and you did a nice job in the group routine."
"thank you." Paige says
"Brooke i don't think what was in the number showed off your assets God has given you a gift you can do things no one else can do."
"Nia, i thought all through rehearsal you were outstanding then you stepped out onstage how did you go from looking like you
were shooting a movie and you were the dance captain to in the back corner stage right turning into oblivion."
"i'm sorry my hat messed me up." Nia says
"Nia i was in the theatre when a man's hand was severed by a set coming down nobody missed a beat of their dance." Abby says
i look to Maddie cringing
"next we have Kendall, Kendall it was your big audition for nationals you blew it tell me what happened to that number."
"well i just saw some of the solos before me and they kinda got me nervous." Kendall says
"that's why i tell you guys when you step off the stage like watch me i'm exiting and Hollys on next and i'm leaving the stage and i fell out of my turns and i put my hand down in my side ariel and i was the worst i could've been." Abby says
Abby then smiles and walks to Holly
"yes!" Abby cheers
we all starts laughing
"i could so see you doing that." Holly says
"i just freaked you out" Abby says
"yes you did" Holly agrees
"you don't want anyone to come off and say yes i nailed it." Abby says
"Chloe, Chloe you're kinda flying under the radar this week you definitely need to be more involved you should've fought for the spot in the front line"
"next Camila, you're turning into the same dancer that you're sister is. For most that's good but your sister is trying to be better than Maddie, but if you wanna be like Chloe that's fine you sit back and be like Chloe or if you wanna be like Maddie
like Eloise is then work harder."
i bite my lip
"next we have Eloise, you really proved yourself last week you stood out in a good way congratulations."
"next Maddie, you came out of that curtain blazing you had the style you had the look you had the facial expressions and you pulled the focus."
"thank you." Maddie says
"and on top we have Asia, you have proven to be undefeated you are a champion and congratulations for another victory in the eight and under category." Abby says
we clap for Asia

"we have one more week before nationals and we are travelling to Buffalo New York where we will be attending intensity dance the group routine is a how-down it's entitled Country Cuties." Abby says
"Mackenzie you weren't here last week, Asia was the soloist eight and under she won the whole thing this week is your turn."
i smile to Kenzie and we clap for her
"you will be performing a solo entitled reach for the stars, you don't have to far to reach the star is right next to you."
"Camila you have a solo this week it's a lyrical solo but inspired by the musical Hamilton, it's entitled Burn."
everyone claps and i smile
"Maddie you will perform a duet with Kendall."
we clap for Maddie and Kendall
"the name of the duet is Bodies Electric, i've thought for quite a few weeks that you were the kid to follow in Maddies footsteps to be right on her heels working with Maddie this week should be a learning experience im giving you one more opportunity to impress me before nationals don't let me down."
"Chloe you also have a duet you're duet partner this week is Asia let's hope she doesn't leave you in the dust."
"before i dismiss you and we start our warmup we have one more exciting thing happening this week, DanceSpirit magazine has contacted me they want to do a story on a day in the life of a Abby Lee Dance Company member"
i smile and we all clap
"now i thought it would be unique that they do this particular elite competition team but they only want two dancers and they chose you Maddie"
oh of course.
we clap for Maddie
"moms you can go upstairs sit on your butts and talk about me." Abby says
we get warmed up

the group is acro which is exciting we never do acro
we all have partners im with Eloise
"four, five , six , seven, eight" Abby calls out as we do a back handspring
then we get into a line and Kenzie does a walking handstand over all of us for like 48 counts
|Two Days To Competition|

we go from the top of the group routine
and the people from Dance spirit is here taking photo of Maddie
"i'm gonna let you go for now we have one more day tomorrow go." Abby says
we get dismissed
Rachel and Nate say goodbye and they leave the studio
Maddie and Kendall have their duet rehearsals then it's my solo rehearsal
|Solo Rehearsals|
we do my solo and the music is Burn from Hamilton and i use a piece of paper as a prop
and it's a lot of acting and i'm excited
"this is going to challenge your acting, because you always give me minimal acting i want chilling acting bring me to tears bring the whole audience to tears..got it?" Abby says
"yes." i nod
"okay go you're dismissed." Abby says
|One Day To Competition|
"girls we are going to Buffalo New York this is our last competition of the season next week is Nationals there's a lot riding on this week." Abby says
Abby calls the moms down and Abby starts running the group dance two dancers at a time
a couple of dancers go then me and Eloise do the dance
we finish the routine and sit back down
everyone else does the routine and Abby doesn't seem happy with it
|Competition Day|
we arrive at the competition
and we head to our dressing room
i start my makeup for my solo
Camilas solo costume:
"that's so sweet." Chloe beams
"you look lovely Cami." mom smiles
"thank you." i say
"let's go! Nationals will you be the one chosen to perform or will you be the one sitting in the audience?" Abby says
we head backstage
Kenzies up first
she enters the stage and her music stars i really like her solo this week she finishes her solo and she exits the stage
i clap for Kenzie and i give her a hug
Melissa comes backstage and gives Kenzie a hug
"please welcome to the intensity stage Camila with Burn"" the announcer says
i do my routine and i make sure everything is strong and my emotion matches the lyrics
and that it changes i think my entire routine was amazing and it was the best i could've done it
Chloe's and Asias duet is up next
"good luck." i say to them
they enter the stage and their music starts the story is really nice and i think they are pulling it off really well they finish their duet and they exit the stage
"well done." i hug Chloe
we head back the dressing room
and mom hugs me and Chloe
"you made me cry!" mom says
"i did?" i say
"your emotion was off the charts and your duet was absolutely incredible Chloe i'm very proud" mom says to me and Chloe
Maddie and Kendall get ready for their duet
"shoulders down to much tension Kendall." Abby says
"ah! finish that arm finish that arm!" Abby yells to Kendall
"Kendall no one can see what you're doing cause you're like this too the back" Gia says
"Jill if you don't do something about her posture it's gonna get so bad she's going to be in a back brace" Abby says
"Kendall keep doing what you're doing we'll discuss this later." Jill says
"oh yeah! much later when she's in a back brace cause she can't stand up straight!" Abby yells
"will you let her run her number Abby? let her run it!.." Jill says
"halter is the worst possible thing on her." Abby says
"okay who did the costumes." Jill says
"you're another mother not owing up to her kids flaws." Abby says
"Abby i can't help her body physique let her run her number Abby then pick on her!" Jill yells
"i've told her to stand up straight." Abby says
"and so have i so many times a day atleast how many" Jill says
"stop! you're stressing me!" Kendall says
"get over yourself i didn't trash your kid, i don't want Maddies reputation ruined!" Abby says
"i don't either!" Jill defend
we then head backstage for Maddie and Kendall's duet
"don't listen to Abby you look amazing in this duet okay? because Abby is always wrong she has like selective hearing." i say
Kendall laughs
Maddie enters the stage first then Kendall enters the stage
it does look more like a Maddie solo but they are really nailing it
they finish the duet and they're fit the stage
Maddie and Kendall hug then i hug Maddie
we then head back to the dressing room to get ready for the group routine
mom does my hair in pigtails and pins out bows down
then i get into the costume
Group costume:
"yee-haw!" the girls and me tell when we come out of the curtain
"that's good." Abby says
"hey guys i just got a thing from Maddies article it says DanceSpirit magazine a day in the life of the new face of dance, that's one at your studio.. that's cool isn't it" Melissa says
we go out to the hall to practice the group dance
"girls if anybody's hair is out she's going to trip on it, do it again do it again." Gia says
we do the last bit of the group again
we head backstage for the group dance
"alright next to the intensity stage is act number 72 make some noise for Country Cuties." the announcer says
we do the routine and i think i did good and that my tricks were clean
we do the back handsprings into the splits and then we lie down so Kenzie can do her handstand
we do our ending pose and we exit the stage
"i tripped on someone's hair." Kenzie starts to cry
"did you fall?" i ask
"i fell, Abby's going to yell at me now." Kenzie cries
"no she's not you were amazing Kenz" i say and i hug Kenzie

Kenzie got first for her solo!
"alright moving onto our elite junior solos of competition"
Paige takes my hand
the top nine is announced
"ladies and gentlemen your highest scoring junior soloist is miss Camila with Burn"
i smile and i stand up to get my award
omgomgomgomg thank god i pray this is enough to get a solo at nationals!
for the duets
Chloe and Asia got second
and Maddie and Kendall got first
"now for our elite junior small groups"
"in third place is act number 47 yellow line."
"in second place with a score of 276.7 points is act number 45 Boy meets Girl"
"and your highest scoring elite junior small group with a score of 280.3 points is act number 72 Country Cuties."
we cheer and we stand up to get our award
we come into the dressing room cheering and Abby hugs me
"congratulations on the duets and to Camila and Kenzie on your solos and to the group." Abby says
"girls one week to nationals dream it eat it breathe it live it i thought i would have a very clean easy decision after the results today but i saw stuff on stage stage that i haven't seen go wrong in years but i'll tell you what but i'm not gonna go there and get beat miss Cathy that has much talent i have in this finger nail i don't know what it's gonna be like go you guys if the Abby Lee Dance Company loses" Abby says and then she walks out
here we go..Nationals.
