Two weeks later...

Baltimore, MD
June 2nd
Friday

"Yo, Layla. You can't be serious right now," Gabe irritatedly conversed into the mic of his iPhone after closing the door of his bedroom. North was in the kitchen eating the breakfast he prepared for her, he didn't want her to overhear his conversation about chewing her birth mother out. "You promised her all week about this girl's day and you're just going to bail out on her?!" He scarcely raised his voice.

Layla smacked her lips in aggravation "First of all, it's too early for you to be yelling on my cellular device nigga," She argued back causing him to smack his lips at her snarky comment.

"I'm catching a last minute to Cabo with my girls. The tickets went down and we couldn't miss it again. You know I want to go to Cabo for years,"

His face scrunched up "So you gonna you rather go to Cabo wit' some hoes that ain' even yo' real friend–instead of spending time wit' your daughter who is excited as fuck for this weekend?" He questioned "If they were real friends, they would tell you to take your daughter to Cabo. She has her passport and she doesn't have school yet," He fussed, tossing his hand up in aggravation.

"Boy bye! You sound stupid as fuck," She shortly laughed at him "We're about to be drinking and all this other shit! Why the fuck would I have her around that? Nigga you wouldn't do that dumb shit," She argued.

"Yes, I would," He shot back "I'm not the dipshit that choose to go on a last-minute trip when you BEGGED for me to let you come get her early today and have her until Tuesday," He attempted to calm himself down but he was heated.

North has been chattering about this girl's weekend with Layla all week. She was super excited, especially considering she promised it was only going to be her and Layla.

For the past two weeks, co-parenting had been well for the two. No arguing, no Layla being petty and calling the cops on him if he was five minutes late at drop off. North was, even more, happier around her mother rather than before. Gabriel still needed to have a conversation about her dissing their daughter and calling her ugly–he just hasn't found the right time. When he wants to bring it up, he gets angry all over again.

Of course, the good co-parenting was short-lived. Gabe doesn't know why he anticipated more and got his own hopes up.

"You're such a lame ass nigga," She started laughing hard "You only saying take her so you can use that against me in court! But you're dad of the year right? You are so jealous she had a parent that wants to be in her life while you didn't. You're disgusting Gabriel,"

"My pops died before I was even born dickhead," He lashed out at her. "You tryna bid and look dumb as fuck. I'on gotta do a gahdamn thing to show you a sorry excuse of a mother, you do that shit on you own!"

Soft gasps escaped her lips, obviously taken back from his harsh words. "Me?! Nigga you over here bitching about me not coming to get her! You wanted full custody, you–"

"You begged for this! Fuck you mean bitch! You letting her down, AGAIN–but you think you some good mother? Fuck outta here," And with that last statement, he hung up the phone with her–not caring for the rest of the argument anymore.

Flopping down on the bottom of his queen size bed, he blew out an in-depth exhaling breath. Looking upwards at the ceiling, he watched the white-colored ceiling fan blow out cooling air down on his face, Gabe couldn't help but laugh at himself. He didn't understand why he was practically begging her to do right by her daughter whom she carried for nine months.

He didn't even care if she didn't like him. Gabe just wished for her to grow up, not put the personal issues she has with him onto North.

She just wanted a mother.

"Fuck man," He scrolled through his contact list, now thinking on who to call. He could put her back in daycare but they wanted two thousand a month and didn't even do anything that way worth two thousand a man. Plus, North began preschool in early September. Gabe wasn't going to pay close to seven thousand for three months.

Usually, he took a one-hour drive every day to drop North off at his mom's house when he had clients at work. However, his mom was on a trip to Jamaica for the next week with her man. Her new boyfriend truly spoiled her and always had her traveling the world–seeing the world since she hasn't done her whole life.

Gabe was happy for her, she deserved this happiness. He has viewed his mother go through hell and back with men his whole life, it was refreshing seeing a man actually treating her the way she deserves for once.

He hoped to be kept that way, Gabe would hate to put a bullet in his ass behind his mom.

He sighed, clicking Samara's contact info card. He clicked the Facetime icon, hoping she picked up. He should've checked her location first like he always did before calling her.

"Hello?" The call connected on the fourth ring. The top of Samara's head–displaying her laid edges stretched across his phone screen.

"Damn, you at work," He sucked his teeth after her full face came into view–he could see the background being the break room of her job, and he also heard the music playing in the back.

"Yes, I'm so ready to go home," She complained, rolling her eyes "This just really show how disrespectful some of these Pro athletes be. How are you mad I'on want you and you being a quarterback doesn't excite me? Get a life, worry about gettin' on the field again," She irritably ranted and shook her head.

"You a pretty woman Sammy, them niggas used to old white men being Athletic trainers," He couldn't help but laugh at her face growing a deep mug. She had stories for days about different PRO athletes coming in and trying to holler at her or any of the other black woman coworkers.

He's seen mostly all of them, he would try to flirt with them too.

"I'on care! Keep it professional and cute, especially when you have a girl coming in here calling you babe and baby. Please fuck outta my face,"

Gabe busted out laughing "Nigga is fucked up. They be having all the money and worried why folks be using them," He chuckled.

"Exactly! Like ew, move around. Barely gettin' playing time but want to cheat. Contact almost over, no team wants you but you wanna cheat? Fuck outta here,"  She heavily rolled her eyes while he was close to tears from her venting session. "Anyways, wassup? Why did you call?" She went back to the first subject of conversation before she got distracted.

He chuckled a bit "Nah, I was gonna ask if you could watch North for me today but you busy," He sighed and shook his head. He was going have to case all his appointments today, that was a good one thousand down the drain.

Samara furrowed her eyebrows "Watch her? I thought she was going with her mom. She was so excited on the phone with Bop last night," She spoke with a small pout of her lips "She canceled on her?" She wondered.

Gabe slowly nodded in response "For a trip to Cabo with her so-called friends," He scoffed "Now I gotta be the only one to pick up the broken pieces once again because I know she gonna be upset," He made an effort not to evolve frenzied again but knowing his child was going to be hurt upset him.

North persuaded him to get her hair, toes, and fingernails done this week for the weekend so she could be pretty. She stayed up all night picking out numerous outfits she assumed her mother would fancy on her. North isn't even a morning person yet she woke up extra early this morning–doing what she knew how to do independently with her morning routine from how excited she was.

Breaking this information to her was going to shatter his heart.

"Wow, she could've taken her. I'm sure it's child-friendly things in Cabo to do. She didn't have to let her down like that," She frowned.

"Even if it's not, why would you book a flight knowing you promised her this girl's weekend? My baby was so happy Sammy, smiling ear to ear when I woke up," He stressed, blinking away the eye-burning tears beginning to gloss.

North didn't deserve this. She didn't ask to be in this world yet Layla was treating her like she did ask. She had options, nobody forced her to have North–she could've gotten an abortion if she didn't want to be a mother.

Or signed over all her rights to Gabe.

"Yeah, I know. She is wrong as fuck for putting Northy through this," She shook her head "But, it's Friday, and Bop always goes with Mari until starts school. I can ask Mari if he could watch her, he isn't anywhere besides his gym,"  She informed him as her phone moved closer to her face.

"He doin' his stepdaddy duties, " Gabe teased.

He watched Samara roll her eyes at that comment "I told you to stop saying that. It makes it seem like I'm forcing my son on him," She chuckled.

He sucked his teeth "No it doesn't, who told you that?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

"Nobody but you know how they always say single parents try to force their kids on anybody that walks into their life? Yeah, I'on wanna give off those vibes that I'm looking for a step-parent rather than a significant other or friend,"

"Nah, I wouldn't call it forcing 'cause Mari seems to enjoy it when he is with Gray and it's the same for Gray. Plus, as a single parent, you come as one anymore," He told her. He saw it from her perspective because some single parents do that nevertheless, it wasn't like Samara was going around calling every male "Stepdaddy".

Samara lightly hummed "Yeah I guess. I just asked Kamari could he watch her and he said yeah. I'ma send him your number,"

Gabe stood to his feet "Ard, preciate it, Sammy. I'ma check-in wit' North to see how she feels about it," He strolled to his bedroom door.

"Okay, lemme me know what you do,"

"Ard," He hung up the phone and twisted the doorknob open. The moment he stepped through the door thrust way, his ears filled with the theme song of the boss baby that North loved watching every day coming from the living room. Maneuvering his figure through his residence until he entered the living room–spotting North bouncing in excitement at the dining room table.

North averted her attention toward her dad after peeping at him approaching her "Is it time to go? Mum is outside?" She beamed, setting her plastic white fork down.

Gabe exhaled a soft breath through his nose once he squatted down on the side of the child she was seated in. "Something came up so your mum can't get you this weekend," He spoke gently, hating delivering this awful news to her. Layla was making him out to be the bad person because she could've informed North she wasn't coming when they were on Facetime last night before bed.

"She is coming. She told me last night, you're telling a story," She folded her arms across her chest, having her frown displayed over her face.

Gabe could only shake his head, reaching for his phone "If she told you that then you can call her and ask her mama," He put the face ID in after retrieving his phone.

North's small hand gently pushed his phone once he held it up for her "She isn't coming," She muttered, shaking her head and turning her body back forwards. "She told a story, why?" Her head turned towards Gabe, he could view the glossy liquid in her eyes which instantly broke his heart.

"I'on know mamas, I'on know," He stood up fully straight and then picked her up in his arms. The moment her face came in contact with his shoulder, she broke down in tears. "It's okay, I gotcha," He rubbed her back.

He wished the judge that granted Layla custody could see this. He blamed Layla but he also blamed the Judge for allowing this woman to constantly hurt his child. Gabe wished the system against fit parents–not against fit and active fathers wasn't so misguided.

They never think of the children. That's who they're hurting and disappointing at the end of the day.

"What the hell? She just stood North up? Was she all excited for nothing?!" Gabe's mother–Leslie's fussing mouthpiece sounded through the speakers of the vehicle as Gabe's Santorini Black exterior 2022 Jaguar F-Pace S parallel parked in the space outside of Champ Boxing Gym to pick his daughter up. "Excuse my French but that bitch is something else. Why does she keep doing that baby like that?" Leslie spoke angrily.

Nodding in agreement as if she could see him, he put the car in park after adjusting in the car space. "I'on know Mom. She doesn't have to put North through this. She could just sign her rights over to me and we wouldn't ever bother her again. She just drawn," He shook his head while removing the seatbelt from around his body.

"I know, but this is just another thing you need to send your lawyer. Taking a trip instead of spending time with your daughter is ridiculous, what is wrong with y'all new generation," She voiced her opinion causing him to lightly chuckle "I blame nobody but them parents of hers. Enabling that awful behavior, you can tell she is the only child," She went on to say.

"You can. I was the only child though, I'on understand why she acts that way," He commented, glazing out the driver's side window–watching what he assumed were middle schoolers jump rope and doing Tik Tok dances while someone recorded in front of the Gym entrance.

"Because I raised you better to be self-centered and to think you're better than everyone. Her parents enabled her, her whole life," She explained with Gabe nodding in agreement. "A recipe for disaster. How is North doing? I know she's a little disappointed," She stated.

"Mhm, she cried but once I told her she was going to see Grayson today she was good again," He chuckled.

Leslie started laughing "She loves her best friend," She said, and Gabe nodded in agreement. He talked to his mother a little while longer before she had to get off in order to make her dinner reservations. Killing the low rumbling of the engine, he got out of the vehicle. Tugging his solid black fitted jogger pants on her body, he shut his door and locked the vehicle using the car keys in his hands.

As he strolled towards the entrance, he nodded his head upward in a greeting motion at the few men seated in foldable chairs by the door. Yanking the metal black door, he was greeted with music erupting through the speakers.

🎶 Touch what I never touched before, seen what I never seen before
Woke up and seen the sun sky high, sky high🎶

As his eyes scanned around the gym spacing he bobbed his head to Black Ice (Sky High) by Goodie Mob playing. He caught a glimpse of Kamari at the practice boxing ring, helping a few kids aged from nine to ten years old down from the high-up ring.

"Northy stop! I helpin' you," Grayson complained to North as they sat on the floor outside the boxing ring. He was attempting to tie her shoes considering she didn't grasp the concept of how to tie her own shoe but North kept playing too much and moving her foot.

"You do it now and move," He frustratingly shoved her leg from his lap causing the laughing of North to instantly come to a halt once he started standing up and not tying her shoe. .

"No! Gray help meee," She whined.

Gabriel only shook his head at how spoiled his daughter is. She always had to boss everyone around but Grayson gave her a run for her money because he bosses everyone around as well. He was happy about her friendship with Grayson, the friendship you make when you were young were always the ones you cherished if y'all have a real friendship.

Gabe cherishes all his childhood best friends. They may not always talk every day but they always come when it's time to come.

He prays North and Grayson get the same class once school starts.

"Ardd, y'all go see what Ben got for y'all snack," Kamari instructed as he placed the last little girl on the floor. "And stop passing licks fa' I pass them to y'all," He shouted once they all ran out laughing at him.

"Damn kids, Waddup man," Kamari chuckled, dapping Gabe's hand once he approached.

"She knows damn well she saw me but still ran off with them," Gabe shook his head at North running off with the other kids. "I appreciate you for watching her bro, saved my damn life," Gabe spoke seriously. At first, he was a bit skeptical about allowing Kamari to watch North only because she only met him twice.

It all work out and Kamari was even sending every other hour picture updates of North. Those soothed the rest of the nerves Gabe was experiencing.

"No problem, she kept company 'cause he doesn't usually play with the other kiddos. I need to give you this packet tho," He informed him and Gabe followed behind him in a direction "I told North I will give it to you. It's about the summer camp that starts next week," He strolled inside the working–empty office.

"I told Sammy to let you know but I guess she didn't," He added, reaching his hand for one of the many envelopes on the desk while Gabe leaned his right arm against the door frame.

"Nah, she told me. I just forgot to ask her for more information about it," He took the packet after he handed it to her. His eyes scanned over the first page "It's free? Oh yeah, she's gonna be here fasho," He nodded, not needing to read anything longer.

"Mari," They each heard a feminine voice coming from outside of the office. Gabe being nosy, glanced over his shoulder only to see Lanae approach the office with her arched eyebrows knitted downwards. "Hey Gabe," She greeted him with a short smile as he moved out of her way of entering the office.

"Wassup, you Ard?" He stepped to the side. He guest she wasn't in the mood today considering she didn't start talking shit like she normally would, especially when she texted him on Instagram. Nae always had a smart comment for anything if he posted his Instagram story.

They even swapped cell phone numbers, they were only playing 8ball and cup pong since she was bragging about beating everyone on her story a week ago. She won some and he won some but he swore she cheated every time she won.

He just found out yesterday she wasn't gay like he suspected.

"Yeah," She muttered, shifting her weight onto her right leg then placing her hand on her hip with her eyebrow raised.

Kamari smacked his lips "Don't come in here on yo' shit Nae, don't have time for it," Kamari shook his head at her.

Gabe could sense the tension in the room between the two siblings as they were in a stare-off. "Ard, I'mma get North and head out. Preciate it again Mari," He spoke about taking his exit.

"No problem,"

Baltimore, MD
June 3rd
Saturday

Samara laughed, seated on the ground against a rusted basketball court fence. She watched Grayson fight for the orange and black basketball from dribbling between Kamari's legs. "Give my baby the ball Mari," She jokingly fussed as she recorded them on her phone. Samara was burning up in the corner of the court, even though the sun wasn't directly on her, she could still feel the heat blazing on her gentle mocha tint brown skin.

Sam didn't want to be a buzzkill for her son, and Kamari's playful game. She even had an hour to keep her busy until it was time for her to head towards the dealership for her new car. Sam is signing the papers on her 2020 Tesla Model X SUV. Her dream car has always been a Tesla, most individuals thought the purchase of the vehicle was dumb. Even her baby daddy thought it was idiotic, he always talked bad in the car so Sam didn't want it anymore.

His horrible comments and impressions caused her to suppress her dreams and wants. It's the reason Samara settled with the Toyota RAV 4 Prime when she first bought it.

However, viewing all the charger ports in her condo building parking garage–Samara made an impulsive decision by purchasing her dream car. The impulsive decision-making didn't help with everyone around her hyping her head to get it.

She was super excited. Doing something that made her happy, she loved it.

"Mama! Watch out!" Grayson shouted after tossing the basketball in her direction. Samara quickly scooted a few spaces down on the hard–steaming concrete, making the basketball bounce off the fence. "Mama, you okay?" Grayson ran at maximum speed to check on her.

Samara smirked "Oh my goodness nooo," She covered her face with her hands and started fake crying. "The ball hit me in the face Bop, it hurtttsss," Her body started moving in a circle to help dramatize the fake pain she was in.

He dramatically gasped "It's okay, Mama. I'm sorry," Gray wrapped his short arms over her shoulders. "Don't cry mama ohh, don't cryyyyy," He lousy sang a song like she always did with him when comforting.

"I kiss it," He tugged her hands from her face then placed small pecking kisses on her forehead and the tip of her nose. "Aww, thank you Bop, it feels all better," Her arms wrapped around his small body, offering him a giant and loving hug.

"Yew Welcomeeeee," He uncontrollably laughed once she started tickling him.

She laughed and stopped tickling before her eyes averted upwards to the male figure covering the sun from over her. A small smile appeared over her lips as she gazed at Kamari rubbing his stomach shirtless while looking at his phone. "You rubbin' ya' tummy like a baby in there," She teased.

He smacked his lips and chuckled "I'm hungry that's why," He shoved his phone in the pocket of the gray NIKE shorts "Whatchu' tryna eat? I want a chicken box and salad," He nodded and rubbed his hands together.

She chuckled "I guess we can get that," She offered Grayson her hand and he tried to help her stand up from the ground. "Oh my goodness Bop, are you excited about mommy's new carr?" She happily picked him up, producing him to laugh and she positioned him on her hip.

"Yes, I drive it too?" He beamed as they walked to the car.

"When did you get a license?" She raised her eyebrow with a small chuckle followed behind.

"What's that?" He tilted his head to the side.

Sam only laughed at the clueless toddler once they approached her vehicle "When you found out and get one, I'll let you drive it. Deal?" She asked.

Grayson rapidly nodded his head "Deal!" He shook her hand.

Placing him down to his feet, Grayson ran around to the passenger side where Kamari was going to help him in the car. Unlocking the doors with the keyfob "Whew! It's hot, it's hot," Sam quickly hopped in the driver's side–pressing her foot on the brakes and clicking the push start. Turning the Ac on full blast while Kamari got into the passenger seat.

I was just thinking by Gunna erupted through the speakers as she texted Chanel back.

Chanel🤍

I mean LMFAO Sammy I
don't care if we aren't friends anymore.
That was her decision, let her rock out😂

She put her hands on me
too... it's no making up Sammy.

Yall need to sit down and
have a serious talk,
this is all petty and uncalled for.

Samara shook her head, clicking out that message thread then placed her one in the empty cup holder "Why are your sister and Chanel so hard-headed?" She heavily rolled her eyes as she pulled out of the parking spot. Sam was becoming stressed with Lanae and Chanel calling their friendship the quits after getting into a physical dispute a week and a half ago.

Their talking contorted into an argument about Chanel's boyfriend once again. Nae went on and on about Chanel being stupid for staying with Evan. How foolish she looked around the city to all their peers, everyone laughing at her and making jokes. Chanel ended up bringing Nae's incarnated father into the argument. Call Nae dumb for believing her father is still a good man after not being active or a parent in either Kamari or Ben's life.

Nae stopped talking after that and attacked Chanel.

It was all round stupid. Nae had no right to unprovokedly speak about Chanel's relationship and for hitting her. Just like Chanel wasn't right to bring up Nae's father. Samara only wanted them to make up and take some type of accountability for the wholly unnecessary fight.

Kamari slouched in his seat, spreading his legs out further "They got to hitting Sam. They aren't gonna be cool again, that friendship is done now," He chuckled.

"I know but at least speak it out. They've been friends since they were eight years old," She stressed, waving at the person who let her car out into busy traffic. This was stressful for her because she was both Nae and Chanel friends. They hung out as a group most of the time, now things were messed up. Sam didn't know how to move forward, she was going to have to split time with the two. If she invited one person to this place, could she invite the other person as well?

"Just have to let them figure that out, Mama," He arranged his left hand to be on her exposed skin thigh due to her wearing grey biker shorts.

Samara lightly signed through her teeth "I guess," She muttered. She hated when friends fighting around her, made everything moving forward awkward.

Pushing the buggy filled with groceries through the Walma aisle. Grayson came face-first into her butt after she abruptly stopped walking once her eye could an item from her small grocery list. "Bop, which Apple sauce do you want? The packets or the cups?" Samara leaned on the armrest, skimming over the various prices.

"Uhhh," Grayson tried to climb through her legs, making her groan in annoyance. He's been doing that the whole time they have been in the store. He was trying to climb her body like she was in a jungle gym.

Even when she was walking. It aggravated Samara and she was making an effort to not snap on him in the store with random strangers everywhere. She never wanted to disciple her child with strangers, she felt like they gave them a reason to judge her son.

"Both!" He finally replied, popping his head between her legs.

Samara shook her head "Okay, get off me so I can move baby. Please," She poked the top of his head with her acrylic nail.

"Yes ma'am," He moved off of her so she could move.

Samara quickly grabbed two packets of six Applesauce cups. Skimming through the various choices of flavor pouch Apple sauces, out of the corner of her eye she could see a male–tall figure coming down the aisle.

"Sam?" She heard a masculine mouthpiece coming from the right side. Glancing over to the right, a soft smile appeared over her lips once she saw it was Lanae's cousin that was trying to talk to her for two weeks again. "Damn, I knew it was you. Thought I was trippin' for a second," He chuckled and then waved his hand at Grayson who was eyeballing him.

"Hi, Jake, right?" She gave the box of Mott's No Sugar Added Applesauce to Grayson "Put that in the buggy for me please," She lightly mushed his head since he was mean-mugging the male talking to his mom.

Grayson didn't like any man speaking to her.

"Yeah, I was just texting Nae 'bout you yesterday too," He chuckled.

Samara raised an eyebrow "Me? About what?" She wondered as Grayson finished putting the box in the buggy, then he stood in front of Samara's legs and hugged her–showing his visibility to the man. Grayson always tried to cock block her from fine men but when the other man isn't as attractive, he's fine with it.

Nobody told her being a boy mom you have your own mini bodyguard with you at all times.

"That Vegan grocery store just opened down the street from here actually. The black-owned one I was telling yew about a couple of weeks ago," Jack explained, stepping out of the way of the women coming down the aisle.

"Ohh, okay. Yeah, your cousin told me about that. We said we're gonna check it out when the line starts to get low. I've heard they're always packed since opening," She stated, watching his eyebrow knitter together.

"Cousin? Dang, why Nae didn't tell meh that yesterday," He chuckled, licking his plump lips.

"Oh, I wasn't talking about Nae. I was talking about Kamari, he's coming up behind you," She smiled, nodding her head in the direction of Kamari strolling down the aisle with bottles of body wash in his hands.

Jack glimpsed over his left shoulder to view where her head was nodding. "Well damn, I was just on the phone with yo' ass too. Why didn't you say anything?" He turned his body around fully to greet Kamari with some dap.

"Say anything about what?" Kamari furrowed his eyebrows as she arranged the three different flavors Native body wash bottles–that Samara put him on in the buggy along with the rush of his groceries. Apparently, he will be thirty years old in less than two months and didn't grasp the concept of grocery shopping for his home.

Samara thought it funny but she also liked grocery shopping so she didn't mind helping him. Especially considering all the times he helped with her son when he didn't have to.

"Bout that Vegan Grocery store I was telling y'all about a couple of weeks ago. I sent it in the group chat early this week too," He informed him "But lemme know sumthin' when y'all go and I'll slide with y'all. I gotta get back to this girl before she thinks I left her in Walmart again," He chuckled, dapping Kamari up once again to leave this time.

"Again?" Samara questioned.

Jack nodded, having a devilish grin on his lips "Yep, I be in and out and she wanna take a long. She might as well stay here if I'm driving," He carelessly shrugged his shoulders "Ay, yall be safe," He laughed as he walked away.

"Something is seriously wrong with yo' family," Samara chuckled while Grayson moved from being pinned against her body. "So, you have juice, snacks, and sides. Where gettin' your meat from the butcher... What else do you think you need?" Samara wandered, walking in front of the buggy and Grayson helped Kamari push the buggy.

"I'on know. Yew the one with the list," He smartly remarked.

"Don't piss me off Kamari," She rolled her eyes, already knowing his eyes were nowhere but her ass since she was walking in front of him. She couldn't blame him, her body looked good in the gray biker shorts and matching top set.

"You payin' for my stuff too right?" She walked into the little boys' clothing section. Looking over her shoulder, she could see Kamari blankly staring at her "I'm serious, Sammy on a budget now after that car hunny," She looked through the clearance section.

She always looked at them first because they always have at least one or two cute items.

Kamari chuckled as he leaned on the railing of the buggy "Just put it in the basket Mama,"

"Oop, you don't have to tell me twice," She stuck her tongue out.

Hours laters after a long day, time now being 10 o'clock at night. Kamari sat on the couch in his penthouse with Samara's slim thick body curled up against the side of his muscular figure–Watching Men in Black 3 on the Samsung 98-inch TV mount on the wall. "Are y'all spending a night?" He wondered, looking down at the top of Samara's head since her head was on his chest.

Covering her mouth to yawn first, she nodded first in response before verbally "Yeah, I don't feel like moving right now," She chuckled, snuggling her face further into his chest. She didn't feel like going upstairs to get Grayson from the room Kamari made for him. Then he was going to whine because Samara woke him up so she didn't feel like doing that.

Plus, this is also her first time in his penthouse. He always came to her condo or Mari always picked Grayson up from her condo.

"Why did you get this big place if it's just you that lives here?" She tranced over the tattooed art on his chest using her acrylic nails.

"Because sometimes when kids from my Gym graduate from high school, their people kick them out. They won't be having nowhere to go so I let them stay with me and help them get on their feet and shit," He explained as his hand reached down to her ass, grasping a firm hand full.

Samara playfully rolled her eyes, trying to suppress the smile from creeping over her lips. "Aw, that's really sweet," She looked up to him. "Gimme a kiss," She perked up her lips.

Leaning down his head downwards to her face, a small pecking on the lips turned into Kamari sneaking his tongue in her mouth. "Mmm," She softly moaned, placing her hand on his cheek. Since the first time the two kissed, that's all they have been doing when they were alone. Samara loved it because she loved kissing and she loved how soft his lips were.

Truth be told, they haven't talked about why they were all of a sudden being more touching and kissing each other. They were going with the flow of things and Samara loved that. No overthinking or feeling the build-up of running away.

"Mm," She softly hummed, pulling away from the kiss before it could go any further. She giggled, wiping the lipgloss from his lips using her thumb. "You do handsome," She cooed, pecking his lips one last time.

"Thank you," He mumbled through a smirk appearing over his lips.

"Did you ever figure out what you wanted to do for your birthday?" She wondered. His 30th birthday was coming up on July 31st and she still hadn't figured out what she and Grayson were going to give him. Sam still had to figure out what she was getting Ben for his birthday on June 18th.

She thought it was hilarious they were hood twins.

"Yeah. I wanted to go out of the country so we are going on a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas," He informed her. "You and Gray gonna come too right? I might ask Gabe if he wants to come too," He added.

"Oou, Grayson, and I passports just came in the mail the other day too," She smiled "Yep, we're definitely going. What are the dates? So I can put my days in now," She moved her shoulders up and down. At first, she used to be scared of purchasing passports because the process was long when legally changing her and Grayson's names on their birth certificates and social security. She didn't know if the process would be long again because of their legal name changes.

But when she went, the process went smoothly.

"Probably July 30th to August 5th, that's a whole week. It's an adult and kids so Gray and his friend if she comes can do stuff. We would have to fly to Miami on the 29th tho so we can board on time and not miss it," He explained with her nodding her head along.

"Okay, let's go shopping for my baby," She picked up her phone.
