I cried for a whole day in my room after hearing that. My room was locked and everyone knocked turn by turn but I didn't want to see anyone.
I was their step sister.
We don't share the same father, just mother.
But, did my mother really cheat?
Can I trust Dad?
I need to speak to Gio but I don't seem to have the courage to. Dad told me not to tell him, but it's not like I will listen to him.
It was now 7 in the morning as I got out of bed. I looked in the mirror to see my fully swollen eyes.
My phone pinged making me pick it up whilst I brushed by teeth.
It was Gio.
'I heard from Enzo about you potentially wanting to do Law or Business. You can come spend the day with me so you can decide if it's what you want. I put some clothes outside your door for you.'
I wasn't in the mood but this could be a way to tell Gio.
I replied with an okay and checked outside my door to see a box. I brought it inside and put in in my bed as I did my morning routine.
I finished showering as I opened the box to see a beautiful pink dress with a small matching jacket inside.
I put the dress on first and the mini jacket on top.
I started doing my makeup. I had to do it slightly heavy due to my eyes being swollen.
Once I was done I put some jewellery on to match and put on some gold heels.
This outfit really is extra like Gio-
I made my way downstairs and saw everyone in the kitchen already.
All their eyes landed on me, especially Nico's. I tried not to squirm due to his intense gaze, so I shifted my attention elsewhere.
I looked at Marco and he suddenly go up and left.
What happened to him? He didn't even enter my room this morning like he usually does.
"What happened to Marco?" I asked no one in particular.
"No clue." Enzo said.
"What happened to you yesterday though?" Toni asked me and I shook my head. "Nothing."
"You're lying." Toni said walking towards me. His green eyes piercing into mine.
Why's he trying to intimidate me into telling the truth?
"I said it was nothing. Just the usual girl stuff, unless you want the disturbing details." I said making him and Romeo grimace in disgust.
"That's what I thought." I said grabbing the toast off Gio's plate glaring at him. He looked up from his phone at me.
"Don't annoy me today. I have no interest going with you but I have no choice since it's for my personal benefit." I said trying to sound as realistic as possible.
"Thanks for letting me know that you're using me." He replied.
"No problem." I grinned.
Gio got up and left making me follow him. We both got into the car as he drove off.
We were sitting in silence when Gio spoke. "Did something happen yesterday?" He asked making me looking at him.
"No nothing."
I didn't have the guts to tell him yet.
Gio looked over at me clearly not believing my words at all but ignored it.
We made it to a tall building and I couldn't help be amazed by the sight. My thoughts were stopped by Gio walked straight in.
Gosh could have waited.
I caught up to him, now beside him watching as people greeted him. I could feel the eyes on me. Honestly, I hate it.
People are always watching when I'm around my brothers.
We got into the elevator as Gio pressed the 18th button. We were in an awkward silence and I don't understand why.
Did I do something?
Well apart from the fact that I lied to him just now, but he doesn't know that.
The elevator door opened and I followed Gio into his office. It truly was beautiful, especially the view.
I walked straight towards the window enjoying the view of the nice tall buildings. I made sure not to look down since I'm afraid of heights.
I heard a loud thud so I turned to see Gio slammed his file as he stared at me.
"Is everything okay?" I asked making him walk towards me.
"I don't know is it?" He questioned back making me confused. "What are you hiding May?"
May not stellina?
"Gio-" I was cut off by the door opening to reveal Nico.
Nico rushed straight towards the file on the table opening it. He looked at something then looked straight up at me.
He walked straight towards me where Gio also stood. "You spoke to your dad yesterday, yes?" He questioned almost challenging me.
I nodded looking down.
"And he told you some things, yes?" Nico questioned again and I nodded.
"What did he say?" Gio asked as I looked up at him feeling guilty that I hid this from him.
"Gio, I don't know if the things he said are true." I said worried that he'll be upset.
I don't want him to view our mother in a negative light. He knew her more than me, and as much as I knew he cherishes all the memories they have together.
I don't want to ruin those memories.
"May, we'll find out if they're true together." Gio said trying to reassure me.
"Ok, but promise me that you'll check to make sure it's true before getting upset." I said and Gio nodded.
"No, promise me." I repeated making him sigh.
"I promise."
I took a deep breath not ready for what I'm about to say.
"We don't share the same father Gio." I started making him confused.
"Dad said that our mother apparently cheated." I said closing my eyes not ready for what's next.
Silence-
The quiet atmosphere made me slowly open my eyes.
Gio had a hand in his hair with his back towards me.
"Gio-" I was cut off by him.
"He's lying."
"I know he's lying."
"I know mom. I know her. She's not like that." He said as he sat down with his head in his hands.
I walked towards Gio and sat down beside him. I took his hand in mine trying my best to comfort him.
"Knowing Dad, he's most likely lying or telling us parts of the truth. Let's check for ourselves." I said as I lightly patted his back.
Gio nodded and looked at Nico and I. "We need to do a DNA test." He said as I nodded still comforting him.
"And it's time for you both to get married." Gio added making me look at him confused.
"Why now?" I asked.
"Nico's parent are pressuring us still to make you marry Dante. It's best to get this done to at least eliminate one threat." Gio said. "Nico already got shot the other day, if anything happens to him you'll have no choice but to marry Dante."
My eyes widened as I looked at Nico.
He didn't look like someone who's recently been shot. I mean, he's standing perfectly fine and everything.
Who would even shoot him?
"We need to get May's DNA test without anyone realising."
