chapter 3: fatal attraction

"I appreciate y'all, I love y'all, and make sure to subscribe to the other channel! We be going crazy over there."
Sadé watched as Kai did his outro for his YouTube channel. She had already said her goodbyes and thank yous, so she was just waiting for him to finish up.
They had just finished the hot ones challenge and also just finished drinking gallons of milk. To say the challenge was a little harder than she thought would definitely be an understatement.
After Kai turned the ring lights off he sat back down and was just looking at Sadé.
She turned her phone off and stared back at him. "What is it?" she chuckled at him. She felt more relaxed after doing the video with him. It was rare for someone to be the same in person but Kai was exactly what she imagined him to be.
"So my boy Duke..." He trailed off looking at her expectedly. She knew this was coming since he even brought him up during the challenge.
Sadé rolled her eyes with a small smile on her face. "I told you already, Kai. I don't even know who that is."
"And I already showed you him, so whatcha think?"
She honestly didn't know what Kai was wanting her to say. She didn't even know who Duke was. But she could admit that he was handsome, from the pictures and videos that Kai showed her earlier.
"I-" she started to say until they heard loud voices and slamming coming from downstairs.
"Is somebody else supposed to be coming here?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows confused, since Kai had told her it would be just them two, plus Steven, in the house.
"Damn what time is it?" Kai asked while picking up his phone to check the time. As soon as he went to speak, Sadé's iMessage alert went off. She knew it was either Steven or her manager since those were the only two people allowed in her focus.

We gotta get going.
Sadé decided to finally check the time to see that it was nearing 3:30. She had originally planned to be leaving Kai's house by at least 2:00, so now she was a little behind schedule. She didn't have much to do after but she did have a few appointments set while she was in Atlanta.
"I think the guys are back. They shouldn't bother you on your way out though." Kai told her while putting his phone back in his pocket. Sadé appreciated that he was concerned for how she felt.
"Wowww Kai, you're tryna kick me out already?" She pouted playfully at him.
"Yep. You gotta go." Kai said while dragging her out the chair and towards the door. Sadé couldn't do anything but laugh at Kai.
She could tell as time went on he became more laid back around her and actually showed her more of his personality. This caused her to relax more as well and become even more comfortable around him.
She had a strong feeling that they were going to be great friends from now on.
They opened the door to reveal Steven standing there on his phone.
"You ready to go?" He asked Sadé while pocketing his phone. She could tell he was putting on his "bodyguard" act. He always said around others he didn't want to show any signs of pleasantry just to be sure all strangers would take him seriously.
"I'll walk y'all out." Kai said and stepped in front of them to lead them up the staircase.
As they got closer and closer to the upstairs Sadé could clearly hear at least two other voices but she couldn't really tell what they were saying.
When they finally reached the upstairs she could finally spot the owners to the voices she was hearing.
The first person she spotted was a light skin male with plats in his hair. She could also decipher an accent coming from him, but she couldn't really tell where from, she just knew it was somewhere up north.
The other person was another light skin male. Sadé took notice of his deep set eyes.
They both stopped talking when they saw Kai and Steven walking in. Sadé wasn't visible to them as she was hidden behind Stevens' burly build.
"Ayoooooo!" shouted both of her boys in unison. "You was getting thrashed down there?" Sadé heard one of them ask.
She couldn't help but laugh as she thought about what they were inferring happened between Steven and Kai.
"Man what? No!" Kai yelled back at them. "I had a special guest with me today." At the mention of Sadé, Kai started smiling.
She took this as her cue to walk out from behind Steven, but he still made sure to stand right beside her with his arms crossed. He didn't know these men at all so he was a little hesitant to even let them near her.
She had a small shy smile on her face while sending a wave to the two boys. "Hi, I'm Sadé"
Both boys just looked at her wide eyed.
The one the plats ran to the front door leaving Sadé a little confused. "Dennis!" She heard him yell, now she was even more confused.
"I'm Agent." The other boy held his hand out to shake hers but Steven was quick to move it out the way and send him a look. Sadé sent Agent a look of apology. "Nice to meet you."
"I'm fanum." She heard come from the other boy who was walking back towards them. She sent him another small wave.
"Duke missing all his blessings today." Fanum muttered while shaking his head a little.
Sadé could feel her phone begin to vibrate in her crossbody she had wrapped around her shoulders. She just knew it was her manager because now she was way behind her set schedule for today.
"It was nice to meet all y'all, I'm sorry I can't stay longer and chat." She apologized to them so she could begin her exit. "Kai, don't forget to text me them links." She reminded him by giving him a pointed look.
During the hot ones challenge they found out that they both like a certain brand of cookies and Kai had promised to send her some links to his favorite flavors.
"Bet Bet" He dapped her up and they started following behind Steven to the front door.
Sadé and Kai had started a conversation about the cookies not really paying attention, just following Steven.
Suddenly Kai ran straight into Stevens' back when he made an abrupt stop. Sadé couldn't help but laugh as Kai landed flat on the floor. Even though he was glaring at her she still stuck her hand out to help him up.
"My bad man." Sadé heard an unknown voice say to Steven. She peaked around Steven to see who he had ran into.
It turned out to be who she assumed was Duke, based on all the pictures Kai had just previously shown her.
He was definitely more handsome in person. He stood at least 6'4 which was almost a foot taller to her 5'5 frame. She could see his muscular arms were covered in tattoos and she could see some peeking from under the collar of his shirt. He is so fine, she thought. She couldn't stop checking him out.
While she was stuck gazing at him it seemed he had finally noticed her. She wasn't paying attention to anything he had been saying prior but she could hear him start to trail off.
"Oh, Hey." She said to him almost stuttering over her words but thankful she didn't. He had her flustered already and hadn't even said one word to her.
There was a long silence without Duke saying anything back.
"This is Duke Dennis!" Kai helped him out. He grabbed Duke's hand and stuck it out for Sadé to shake.
Steven didn't interject this time so Sadé was able to shake his hand.
"Nice to meet you." Duke finally said, licking his lips. It seemed he had finally snapped out of whatever daze he was in because now he was smiling widely at Sadé. And she was not disappointed. His smile was so big and bright. She loved it.
"Nice to meet you too." She smiled at him while they both held eye contact with each other.
Sadé didn't even realize they were still holding each other's hands until Steven cleared his throat, she knew if she didn't let go soon he was going to make her.
Thanks to Steven bringing her back to reality, she finally noticed Kai behind Duke jumping up and down smiling wildly and silently clapping his hands.
"Um well, I gotta go." She told him finally starting to slip her hand from his. He seemed very hesitant to let go of her.
It seemed they both didn't even want to stop looking at each other as his eyes followed hers while she walked out the door. She didn't stop looking at him until Steven shut the front door blocking her view of him.
Steven just gave her a disappointed and confused look. But she didn't pay any attention to his antics because whatever bubble Duke had created around them, she was still in it.
She could feel her heart beating fast and a dazed smile made its way to her face.

Duke was still staring at the front door. His brain had been trying to figure out if what he just experienced was real or not.
He wasn't knocked out of his trance until a bouncing Kai jumped in his line of sight.
"W man's or what?!" Kai exclaimed to Duke holding onto his shoulders while still bouncing up and down.
After taking a few more moments to process everything that happened Duke was now angry at Kai.
Kai had to have known for a while he would be doing a video with Sadé. And Kai had to have purposely told him to leave the house so he could bring her over to the AMP house.
Suddenly, Duke picked Kai up by his legs and began to body slam him.
"No nigga! L Mans." Duke yelled while he and Kai started fighting each other. "Why you didn't tell me she was gone be over here?"
"I couldn't! It was a rule!" Kai tried yelling at Duke but he wasn't having it. Duke was finally able to slam Kai on the ground. Feeling accomplished, Duke had decided to leave Kai down there.
He had just started walking to his room when he felt a heavy weight on his back. Now he had started a fight that was never gonna finish.
