"I'm not fond of her from the way you speak about her," chenle frowned at the information the girls were telling them
"trust me, it's hard to be fond of her." meihui rolled her eyes, "since rin lived with heejin during high school, she witnessed everything first-hand and was also one of the more.. traumatised out of us"
jisung turned his attention to his girlfriend who just shrugged, "I'm over it now, to be honest. props to yejin for playing them stupid mind games and what not with us. i remember i almost gave up on my dream because of her," she sighed
"really? what happened?" the tallest asked, shifting closer to her and grabbing her hand
"well I've always really liked dressing up, even just around the house but whenever she came over, she'd discourage me a lot about my style and stuff," she shrugged, "but it's in the past now and to be honest all that matters is she doesn't try making heejin unnie's life hell again"
suddenly, meihui gasped and stood up, "oh my god, isn't her birthday soon?! did you get her anything?!"
seorin nodded, "yeah actually, when we went to the mall together. i reminded you to buy something for her too but I'm guessing you forgot?"
the chinese female slowly nodded her head and nervously chuckled, "well i guess i have some shopping to do now" she said, grabbing her stuff and beginning to make her way out of the dorm
"dude, actually, I'll come with you. I'll buy her something too," chenle stood up and followed mei, leaving jisung and seorin in the living room
"rin, didn't you say you wanted to do something today?" the taller turned to her and she hummed lazily, eyes trailing up to his white hair, loving the color on him
"yeah but I'm too lazy now. I don't even feel like moving anymore."
he chuckled and moved so he could rest his head on her lap, laying down on the couch and feeling much relaxed with his back straightened
"I'm so glad we don't have class today," she began, "i remember in middle school, on the weekends my mom took me shopping and we just had a really fun mother-daughter day together. back then dad hadn't moved too and mom also wasn't promoted to an important position so they had more time for us. but now they're both just so busy, it kinda makes me sad for hyunjin, you know? mom isn't always at home and dad is overseas, me and seonghwa are in different cities, doing our own things. and then i think about how in the future he's starting college too and how the house would probably always be empty like.. it just saddens me i don't know why- oh shit, i just started rambling, im sorry i know i talk too much sometimes"

seorin smiled at her phone before turning it off and putting it on top of her stomach as she lied down on jisung's bed
the boy was concerned when he walked out of the shower, seeing his girlfriend smiling up at the ceiling. she wasn't blinking, and that creeped him out more
"seorin?" he carefully called out to her and jumped when she whipped her head to look at him
"whats up?"
"... are you okay?"
they stood in silence for a while before she laughed to break it, "why would you ask that?"
"its not everyday you walk out of the shower and see your girlfriend smiling at the ceiling of your room, which is really creepy. are you okay?" he repeated his question, moving towards the bed to sit next to her as he spoke
"yeah, im really good, actually. i just spoke to my family after really long, i told them about us and mom said she'd like to see you again sometime as my boy- ji, are you okay?!"
she shot up mid-speech and patted his back as he had began to violently cough at the mention of formally meeting her parents. as her boyfriend.
"I'm-" he wheezed and seorin patted his back harder
"damn dude, what are you even choking on?"
he just shook his head and took deep breaths as he calmed down, "I'm fine. just.. meeting your parents as your boyfriend is like scary, you know?"
she found him cute in that moment. smiling at his small concern, she moved to hug him. he instinctively hugged back.
"you'll be fine, ji. and it's not like we're seeing them in like 5 minutes. we still have the festival to prepare for." she said, giving him assurance
"besides, they're the same people you met before. they loved you last time, what would make the next time any different?"
he smiled and moved to hold her shoulders, making eye contact with her, smiling.
"you're really good at giving me confidence, you know? you make me a better version of myself, which i know is capable of being loved. you prove to me that i can be loved. thank you"
"jisung, you're capable of love no matter the situation because there's things about you that don't change at all and make me love you. its how.. you're just so pure. you're so down to earth, always and how you're always looking out for the people that mean a lot to you and loving them all unconditionally. you deserve love no matter what."
he had no words to reply to her, stunned by the words she had chosen to speak about him.
in all honesty, jisung never saw himself like that in a positive light. he never even thought about it. it all came naturally to him, proving she was right that he always remained kind and humble in every situation and circumstance.
he didn't really didn't have to reply to her because she started speaking again, breaking the silence
