The morning had found Terra on her way to the monastery as all her night had passed by with the image of sister Veta looking at her while she had been doing something that she should not have done.
Namjoon was drunk so the kiss he shared with her was most likely something he would barely remember to not mention that it was something he could easily excuse, if anyone was to accuse him, but she on the other hand, had no such privileges.
If her mistake was to reach Taehyung's ears, she was certain that their relationship would take a hit she most likely could not fix so her only hope left was to make sure that word never reaches him.
In her moment of panic, she had just stared at Sister Veta standing at the doorway and had said nothing to stop her from leaving, as she uttered nothing after she witnessed the inapparent scene and just went on on her way, leaving Terra behind in utter chaos and fear.
Feelings that she couldn't even manage to share with Namjoon as by the moment she turned to pay attention to him again, he had passed out. After some brief minutes of her pacing the room in agony she had just decided to leave him as he was and flee from the place, leaving no signs that she had ever stopped by, to begin with.
Reality had sunk further into her mind, however, once she had returned to the privacy of her house and a mixture of guilt and fear overwhelmed her to the point that she had stayed up, eagerly awaiting for the sky to turn brighter.
Once she witnessed the crack of dawn, she had escaped silently from her house and after a half an hour walk up the hill, she found herself breathing heavily before the gate of the monastery. Ringing the bell with sweaty palms and an unsettling mind that was going over what she should say to Sister Veta to convince her to not cause trouble for her.
The slight fresh breeze kept her company in the silence until the gate finally opened and sister Veta appeared before her eyes, dressed in her usual attire, calm and collected as if she had not disturbed her sleep at all.
"Good morning...I am so sorry for this early hour, I just-"
"Worry not for our waking hour here is at five. The monastery is not open yet for visitors, however, If I may know why you are here, maybe I could inform you if you should wait or pass by later." Veta cut off Terra's words despite the fact that she maintained a polite thin smile on her lips, looking the friendly self she was known to be.
"Please, Sister Veta, please. Let me in. I need to talk to you. Please hear me out. It's really not what you think it is." Terra got hold of Veta's hand and pleaded with her with her soft gaze.
"That's what they all say, Ms Terra. You don't have to convince me of anything. It's you who are carrying the sin of betrayal on your shoulders." Veta's reply reached Jungkook's ears as he had hurried instantly out of bed and out of Dana's arms as soon as he had heard the doorbell of the main gate echo.
He should have been on his way home by now and should have not allowed for the morning to find him in his beloved's embrace yet despite the fact that he had woken up with the dawn, he had found it too difficult to leave the warmth of the woman he had spent of many years, dreaming of meeting again.
Dana being there was certainly something very risky however the fact that he could still sneak out and have some time with her was a perk he considered worth the risk, especially after this night the two had shared together after a long time.
Jungkook's head was in the clouds however he knew that he had to remain very careful if he didn't want everything to get ruined so, as soon as he heard the doorbell, he cut short his admiring session of Dana's sleeping face and rushed out of the room, having in mind to use the back small gate of the monastery that takes you to the graveyard and from there, find his way towards his house.
Once outside, because of the silence that dominated the place and the echo that resonated between the walls made by rocks, he so happened to hear Terra's name being mentioned by Veta and that sure, got his attention.
"It was just a kiss. It happened only once. I am not cheating on Taehyung!" Terra uttered in despair as she didn't like the way Veta referred to her actions as a betrayal. It was just a minor mistep that she had been trying hard for quite some time not to make. She was just human after all, anyone could have made a mistake.
Cheating?...what?
Jungkook's curiosity grew instantly upon hearing that word despite the fact that earlier he had kept going on his way, having no intention to halt and approach more to overhear them better, but after listening to that, his body acted on its own, getting him at a closer distance than he was prior.
"If you are not then why are you at my doorstep trying to convince me for the opposite at six o clock in the morning?" Veta's simple question left Terra momentarily speechless for she had so simply seen right through her. Someone that had nothing to hide, would not go to such an extent to keep someone silent.
"I am sorry...I...really don't want to hurt anyone's feelings...I just...I have something to confess." Terra admitted her head low as she had accepted that she should be truthful with her if she ever wanted her to take some sympathy on her.
"I am not a priest hence I can not accept you to the confession room and listen to you under the oath of privacy. However if you trust me as an individual and still want to speak the truth before the lord, you are free to follow me."Veta made some way for her as she spoke and Terra looked at her for a moment before she stepped in, Veta closing the gate behind her.
As Veta turned around and proceeded to show her towards the praying room, she noticed from the corner of her eyes, a strand of hair slipping behind a corner of a wall and she instantly cursed on the inside, understanding that Jungkook must have not left yet the premises. She remained calm and collected, however, knowing that once Terra will be with her inside the praying room, he could leave easily without fear of being seen by her.
He had no plans on leaving, however, not until he was to hear all he needed at least, so once the two ladies were out of sight, Jungkook skillfully and carefully made his way closer to the nearest window.
He observed them as they bowed their head and took their seats on the wooden stools that existed in the room, full rows that used to be occupied by believers, especially on Sunday mornings, but now that the main priest who was in charge of the monastery was gone due to health issues, there were not kept any mass services for quite a while.
"You are right sister Veta...I have sinned." Terra focused her gaze on her lap as she squeezed her hands together admitting to her mistake for what it was. "It's been a while now actually, that I have been...but not in the way that you think. I and Namjoon really had not done anything anytime before last night when you saw us. I swear."
The mentioning of his brother's name had Jungkook's eyes instantly grow wide and visible shock took over his face as he definitely was not expecting to hear such a thing. He didn't have Namjoon capable to do such a thing to their cousin, Taehyung prior to this moment.
"He was drunk and I just passed by and noticed him. I wasn't trying anything weird, just to take him home safely, but then...he started being a bit tempting and...he kissed me and...I was too weak to refuse because I..."Terra kept pushing herself to get all this out of her chest for it was something that she had tried for a while not that it didn't even exist. Saying it out loud was certainly not easy for it tough her things about her own self that she didn't like.
"You what." Veta urged her to speak lightly, with an uninterested tone of voice despite the fact that this was not how she was really feeling. Because truth had been that from the moment that she witnessed Namjoon and Terra making out, she had grown quite annoyed with him.
He had been eyeing her for so long and she was certain that he had an interest in her yet apparently he is just a player that plays around with everyone the same way. It was not something she had not thought of as a possibility yet the fact that Namjoon could have ever thought that he could play her for an idiot had kinda made her feel offended.
"It's been a while now that I think, I have been looking at Namjoon in a way I shouldn't. But I thought this desire would go away if I just ignored it for long enough. I swear I was never going to initiate anything. It wasn't that much of a crime if I was to just admire his physic from time to time, just like you look at someone over a magazine page. No big deal right? But, then yesterday, he kissed me and I...I have been feeling so bad about it. I don't even know how will I face Taehyung now. Please, please help my save my engagement. I swear I love Taehyung. It was just a mistake and I got carried away." Terra ended up holding Veta's hand as tightly as she could in despair while tears started streaming down her cheeks.
"Me keeping quiet won't really solve your issue, however, if that is what you need for the moment, I think I can do as much for you, under one condition only," Veta uttered as her eyes were looking ahead instead of her, observing the way Jungkook picked his head at the window briefly and then made eye contact with her right before he hid again.
"Anything, I will do anything. Just tell me." Terra agreed just as Veta was expecting and only then did she smile at her and placed a hand over her head, endearingly and comfortingly.
"From now on, you have nothing to worry about, I will solve this one for you. All you have to do is act according to what I am about to tell you. Okay?"
"I promise, I will follow whatever you say."
"Marvellous."
