*Iris's P.O.V.*
I wake up to the sound of footsteps yelling and giggling, as well as the smell of burning pancakes. I sit up and finger comb my hair down then putting it in a super messy bun. I grab my phone and slip on my slippers before heading in. I see Lachlan, Alice, Jerome, Logan and Mitch messing around in my kitchen.
"Good morning guys" I say pouring myself a cup of coffee "What are you doing here?"
"Pancakes" Alice and Lachlan say in unison.
"Yeah I can smell them burning" I say sipping by coffee.
Alice hits Lachlan's arm and turns around to the stove and taking the pan to the trashcan.
"They were in charge of it we had nothing I do with it" Logan says.
"I made the coffee" Jerome says from next to her.
I walk out of the room with out saying anything else and sit on the couch setting my coffee down on the coffee table. I curl up into a ball and rest my head on a pillow. Half asleep I feel someone lift up my head take away the pillow sit down and rest my head in they're lap.
"Hey" I recognize Mitch's voice say "what's wrong"
"Nothing I'm just tired" I say getting comfortable in my new position
"Oh okay, they're still in there attempting to make pancakes" he says playing with my hair.
"Let's just hope they don't burn the house down" I say smiling sleepily.
"Hey Mitch, Iris, there's a bonfire tonight with a bunch of Ryan's old friends and we're invited, you up for it?" Jerome yells from inside the kitchen.
"Yeah sure I just need to get some work done" I say sleepily.
"We're both up for it" Mitch yells back delivering my message
"Goodnight" I say before becoming silent.
We sit there for a while like that me half asleep and Mitch playing with my hair. Soon I smell food and Lachlan is calling from the kitchen. I feel Mitch lift my head off his lap then pick me up, carrying me to the table. I open my eyes tiredly as he sets me down in a chair then sits next to me
"I still think you two would make an excellent couple" Alice says smiling at us.
"Yeah so would you and Mr. Ausie over there" I say pointing with my fork
"Would you two just shut up and quit your bickering" Logan says from next to Jerome.
"Do you guys wanna go to the beach a bit before the bonfire too?" Lachlan asks, mouth full of pancakes
"Sure I don't see why not" I say finishing my plate
"Everyone else okay with that plan?" Alice asks
"Yeah I'm free" Logan says.
"After some recording, sure" Mitch says from next to me.
"I'm all for it" Jerome says smiling.
"Let's go in two cars, Mitch's will have him and Iris and my car will have the rest of us" Alice says
"Yeah thanks" I say sarcastically.
"What, you don't like me?" Mitch asks faking being offended
"Shut up" I say punching him in the arm.
"Aw" Alice says "You two even act like a couple too"
I roll my eyes and stand up gathering everyone's plates, taking them into the kitchen. Mitch quickly follows with the cups and starts helping me do the dishes because everyone else were being lazy.
"I'm leaving I'll be back around 4 for the beach" Logan says, grabbing her stuff and leaving
"I'm gonna head over to work be back around 3" Alice says before leaving as well
"We should get recording" Jerome says and him and Lachlan leave as well just leaving me and Mitch.
"You know they probably planned that" I say as I finish the last dish
"Your right but I always like some quality time alone with you" Mitch says making my cheeks flush.
"And why is that" I ask my cheeks becoming rosier.
"Because I can do this" he says and picks me up, ruining the moment.
He throws me on the couch and starts tickling my sides. I squirm and laugh but all I achieve to do is position myself directly underneath him. He looks down at me for a moment arms on either side of my head then starts leaning in. His phone goes off and we jump apart, my face completely red
"I need to go record" he says awkwardly
"Yeah I need to work" I reply getting up off the couch
"Bye"
"Bye"
After he leaves I take a deep breath and go into my office beginning my work for the day. As the hours tick by its soon 3 and I don't even realize it, I'm starving. Alice gets home and walks into the office hearing me blast Fall Out Boy as I work.
"Hey what's up?" She asks and I turn off the music
"The ceiling" I say with a small smile, she rolls her eyes.
"Have you eaten lunch yet?" She asks and my stomach growls.
"No" I say shaking my head.
"Anything happen while I was gone" Alice asks me sitting in one of the chairs next to me as I get back to work.
The memory of this morning comes flooding back an my face flushes all over again just thinking about it
"OMG something totally happened, tell me!" She begged
"Well.... Mitch like almost might of maybe almost kissed me but didn't because he got a text message" I say blushing deeply.
"OMG are you serious, that goddamn phone!" She yells, I roll my eyes
I finish up after Alice leaves and soon it's 3:30 and I still want food. I ignore my hunger and head into my room. I change into a bikini top and board shorts and grab a couple of beach towels. I also grab a change of clothes and put on a My Chemical Romance Tee
"Alice are you ready yet?" I yell.
"Yeah coming" she says.
I walk out into the hallway and see her wearing the same thing as me but blue instead of black. I grab my sunglasses, keys and wallet then head over to the door.
"What about Logan?" Alice asks as I open the door.
"You and the boys are picking her up on the way" I say slipping on my sunglasses before heading out.
"Oh got it" she says slipping her own sun glasses on before closing and locking the door.
We walk over to the boys house chatting before getting there and letting ourselves in. The house is quiet when we first enter but when we close the door footsteps chorus around the house
"We're here" I yell.
"Alright I'm almost ready" Lachlan replies from his room.
"Me too" I hear Jerome say
They both head out wearing swim trunks and have towels and stuff in their pockets.
"Mitch, you ready yet?" Alice yells.
"Not yet" he yells back
"You guys go ahead I'll wait for Mitch, Logan's waiting" I say.
"Alright see you at the beach" Jerome says before heading out
I walk to Mitch's room and head in to find him pulling on a shirt with towels on his bed next to him.
"Hey ready now?" I ask startling him and he shoves something in his pocket.
"Yeah, go start the car" he says tossing me the keys.
I head out wondering why he was acting so weird. I start the car then get in the passenger seat and wait for Mitch. He comes out quickly and gets in
"So you ready for a fun day at the beach?" He says smiling nicely to me.
"Yep all ready" I say.
We drive their in a comfortable silence listening to the radio in the background. When we get to the beach he parks and we get out grabbing our stuff. We see everyone else setting up towels and head over
"Hey guys" I say smiling
"Hey" Logan replies
I set down my bag and spread out my towel while Mitch goes over to the guys.
"So how was the car ride here!" Alice asks wiggling her eyebrows.
"Oh it was fine" I say taking off my shirt
"Oh alright"
I pull out my sunscreen and start putting it on
"Hey Logan can you get my back?" I ask.
"Sure" she says grabbing the bottle from me.
We finish with the sunscreen then lay down on our towels, going on our phones. Eventually Logan and Alice head doe. To the water with the boys, leaving me alone up on the sand. When I feel droplets of water on my legs I set my phone down and before I know it in being thrown over Mitch's shoulder.
"Hey" I yell smiling and hitting his back
"Come on and join us" he says walking down to the water
"Just don't get my hair wet" I say stopping my struggles.
"Alright" he says before setting be down in the damp sand.
We head into the water over to everyone else.
"OMG, is that Bajan Canadian" I hear a girl yell
Then another yells "And Jerome!
"Is that Lachlan too?" Another one yells
A group of ten girls probably in high school swim over smiling widely at the boys. Currently we were all having a chicken fight and I was on Mitch's shoulders, Alice was on Lachlan's and Logan was on Jerome's
"Omg we're like, your biggest fans" the tallest one says, probably taller than me
Mitch lifts me off of his shoulders and into the water next to him
"Who is she?" One of the girls says while the others fawn over Lachlan and Jerome
"I'm a friend, I was really close with Preston." I say smiling before heading out of the water to avoid awkwardness.
Me and the girls get up to the towels and start to dry off.
"OMG, have you eaten lunch yet?" Alice asks me
"No, do you wanna go eat something?" I ask
"Sure" they reply before grabbing their phones and wallets and slipping on their flip flops
We walk up to a little diner and I text Mitch saying we were there. After about 10 minutes we're eating food, me a salad and everyone else a burger. Mitch and the boys walk in and spot is
"Hey, why'd you leave?" Mitch asks sitting next to me.
"One, I haven't eaten lunch, and two, to avoid awkwardness with your friends" I say
"Oh" he says.
The boys order food and sit down as well. We eat and chat and Alice keeps on nudging me with her foot. I roll my eyes and laugh at a story Jerome just told us. We Finnish eating and Logan and Alice drag Lachlan and Jerome away.
"So you ready for the bonfire? It starts at 6:30" he says and checks his phone "it's 6:15 right now
"Yeah I'm ready" I say
We walk back to the towels and start packing up. I put my shirt back on and pack up my towel. We head to the cars to put away the stuff we don't need before walking to the bonfire.
"Drinks?" Mitch asks me pulling out a beer from an ice chest.
"No I'm good" I say.
I realize that I don't have a jacket but I shrug it off.
Someone starts playing music through speakers and people start dancing. I sit down on a log next to the fire, watching the sun set
I hear the speakers start to play The Sweetest thing by U2 and Mitch comes up to me
"May I have this dance" he asks smiling
"Of corse" I say taking his hand.
We head to where everyone was dancing, everyone starts slow dancing and I wrap my arms around his neck and he rests his hands lightly on my waist. We sway o the music and after this song another song by U2 comes on.
"I'm gonna go get something to drink" I say heading for the drink cooler.
"Alright" he says.
I grab a beer and open it taking a sip. I turn around and plan on going over to Mitch but I see him kissing another girl. I stop in my tracks and head through the people dancing. One of my favorite songs, Be Alone by Fall Out Boy comes on and I just start walking faster. I get past the bonfire into the sand looking over the ocean. I sit down and listen to the music playing
A tear slips out of my eye. I shouldn't be crying he wasn't my boyfriend or anything. I hear someone sit next to me
"What's wrong?" I hear Mitch's voice say next to me.
I wipe away the tear "nothing" I say looking away.
"It's obviously something" he says.
"It's fine I'm fine" I say.
"What's wrong" he says turning my shoulder to face him.
I search his face before kissing him right then and there. I back up when he doesn't kiss back and stand up without saying anything. I'm about to walk away when Mitch grabs my wrist turning me around. He kisses me and I feel like I'm on fire, I wrap my as around his neck.
I stop the kiss to say "That's what was wrong" I say smiling at him.
"That girl was really drunk and kissed me she apologized right away" he says smiling down at me.
I kiss him and I hear wolf whistles and cheers and I look over and I see everyone over there. I roll my eyes and just kiss him again.
