It had been a few months since the engagement party, and most of my friends and family had returned to Republic City. Jinora and Ikki, however, decided to stay with Iroh and me in the palace a little longer.

One day, I went to visit Iroh in his room. As I entered, I found him immersed in his studies, examining maps and battle plans.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt you," I apologized.

Iroh shook his head, gesturing for me to come closer. "No, it's okay," he reassured me.

I walked over and settled onto his lap. "So, you're going back soon?" I asked, curious about his return to his military duties.

Iroh smiled warmly and nodded. "Yes, it's time for me to rejoin my forces and continue serving my nation. I've been away for too long, and I miss the work. But this time, I want you to come with me and see how everything works."

His invitation took me by surprise. "Me? But I'm not a soldier or a strategist. What could I possibly contribute?" I questioned, unsure of my role in the military setting.

Iroh placed his chin on my shoulder, comforting me. "Fara, your spirit brings joy and warmth. In battle, remember the importance of compassion and connection in times of conflict. Your gift for forging bonds is what our crew needs."

Feeling honored and humbled, I smiled at Iroh. "Awe, Iroh you're so sweet, thank you. I will gladly join you on this journey and do my best to support your crew." I leaned in and softly kissed his lips.

With our decision made, we embarked on our journey to meet the crew members who served alongside Iroh. Each member held a unique role and shared a deep dedication to their nation.

Our first stop was General Liu's, a seasoned military strategist. As we entered his tent, he was engrossed in studying his maps.

Iroh saluted him respectfully, and I followed suit. "General Liu, it's an honor to see you again. I've brought someone special to meet you. This is Fara, my fiancée. She will be joining us on our journey," Iroh introduced me.

General Liu glanced up from his maps and extended a hand towards me. "Welcome, Fara. It's a pleasure to have you among us."

I shook his hand, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement. "Thank you, General Liu. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute in any way I can."

General Liu smiled warmly. "You'll find that even in the midst of battles, the human connection is what sustains us. Your presence will serve as a reminder of our shared humanity."

Our next visit, Iroh took us to the medical tent, where Lieutenant Mei, a skilled medic was tending to the wounded. Iroh introduced me to her, and she welcomed me with kindness and empathy.

"Welcome, Fara. It's a pleasure to meet you. I've heard about you from your uncle, retired Commander Bumi of the Second Division. He was always in the medic room, he's quite a clumsy man." Lieutenant Mei said with a smile. "In times of conflict, healing both physical and emotional wounds is essential. We're here to support and protect our fellow soldiers," she expressed, her dedication evident in her words.

I grinned warmly, reminiscing about my uncle's clumsy yet caring nature. "Thank you, Lieutenant Mei."

We continued our journey, heading to the harbor where Captain Chen commanded the naval fleet. As we approached, the sound of the crashing waves and the sight of majestic ships filled me with awe.

Iroh saluted Captain Chen, and I followed suit. "Captain Chen, this is Fara, my fiancée. She will be joining us on our journey," Iroh introduced me once again.

Captain Chen returned the salute and nodded with acknowledgment. "Welcome, Fara. It's an honor to have you on board. Our naval forces play a vital role in protecting our shores and maintaining supply lines. We shall sail together through the storms of adversity."

His words filled me with determination. "Thank you, Captain Chen. I have great respect for the work you and your crew do to keep our waters safe."

Iroh playfully elbowed me. "Fara, you're impressing me with your responses. What's gotten into you?"

A smile spread on my lips as I lightly elbowed him back. "You think so? Well, I guess your wisdom and encouragement have contributed...just a little bit." I teased.

Iroh smiled as our eyes met, as we shared a moment of appreciation toward each other.

Our next destination was the training grounds, where Sergeant Wang's special forces unit was undergoing rigorous drills. The soldiers moved with precision and discipline, showcasing their training evident in every movement.

Iroh introduced me to Sergeant Wang. "Sergeant Wang, this is Fara, my fiancée. She will be accompanying us on our journey," Iroh stated.

Sergeant Wang turned towards me, his gaze sharp and focused. "Welcome, Fara. We train hard to be ready for any mission, no matter how challenging. Our unit specializes in covert operations and striking at the heart of our enemies. We will protect our nation with our lives." His words carried a sense of unwavering dedication.

Lastly, we arrived at the engineering quarters where Private Li worked tirelessly to maintain the equipment. The sight of intricate machinery and the sound of clanging tools filled the air.

Iroh introduced Private Li to me. "Private Li, this is Fara, my fiancée. She will be joining us on our journey," Iroh informed him.

Private Li looked up from his work, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Welcome, Fara. Our machines are the backbone of our operations. Without them, our forces would be greatly disadvantaged. I ensure they function flawlessly so our soldiers can rely on them."

I nodded, appreciating the crucial role he played. "Thank you, Private Li for for skills and dedication you bring to this crew."

After being introduced to the crew members, I spent time getting to know them better and understand their roles in the forces. Each conversation revealed their dedication, expertise, and the challenges they faced.

General Liu, studying his maps, turned to Iroh and me. "Iroh, Fara, it's good to have you both here. As the battle draws near, I want to express my gratitude for your support. Together, we shall overcome any obstacles that come our way."

I nodded, feeling a sense of unity. "Thank you, General Liu. It's an honor to stand alongside all of you."

Lieutenant Mei, organizing her medical supplies nearby, added, "Fara, in the midst of battle, I'll use my skills to tend to the wounded. Your presence and compassion will provide them the emotional strength they need to endure. Your support will be appreciated."

Moved by her words, I expressed my gratitude. "Lieutenant Mei, I admire your dedication and the care you provide to the wounded. I'll do my best to offer comfort and support to those in need."

Captain Chen, gazing out at the sea, spoke with determination. "With you by our side, Fara, we'll draw strength from the unity we share."

I looked out at the vast expanse of water, feeling a surge of determination. "Captain Chen, I'm honored to be part of the naval forces' journey. I'll ensure our unity remains unbroken."

As we continued our conversations, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and responsibilities each crew member faced. Their words resonated within me, fueling a sense of purpose and commitment.

In the following days, we prepared ourselves mentally and emotionally for the impending battle. Iroh and I supported each other, offering words of encouragement.

When the time came for the battle, the crew members and I stood side by side, ready to face the enemy forces. Their expressions reflected determination and resilience.

As we fought, Iroh and I supported each other, offering words of encouragement and finding strength in our unity. The crew members fought with unwavering courage, each bringing their expertise to the collective effort.

When the battle finally concluded, and victory was secured, there was a collective sense of relief and accomplishment. The crew members gathered together, their tiredness evident, but their spirits uplifted.

General Liu, with a mix of exhaustion and pride, addressed the group. "Iroh, Fara, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication. This victory is a testament to our unity and the bonds we share."

Lieutenant Mei, tending to the wounded, added, "Indeed, Fara, your presence has made a significant difference. The wounded soldiers found solace in your compassion and support."

Captain Chen, overseeing the aftermath of the battle, nodded. "Fara, your unwavering support and positive spirit have been instrumental in maintaining our unity throughout this challenging journey."

Sergeant Wang, regrouping with his special forces unit, spoke with appreciation. "Yes, your encouragement and presence bolstered our resolve during the toughest moments. We couldn't have achieved this victory without you."

Private Li, examining the repaired equipment, offered a sincere smile. "Fara, your understanding of our work and the positivity you brought kept us focused. We appreciate your contributions."

Feeling overwhelmed with gratitude, I addressed the crew members. "General Liu, Lieutenant Mei, Captain Chen, Sergeant Wang, Private Li, I'm honored to have stood alongside all of you. This victory belongs to every one of you. I'm thankful to have been part of this journey."

After the battle, when the dust settled and a sense of peace embraced the surroundings, Iroh and I found a quiet moment to reflect on the challenges we had faced together.

Iroh took my hand and led me to a secluded spot, away from the bustle of the camp. We sat down on a patch of grass, gazing at the peaceful scenery around us.

As we sat there, a mixture of relief and exhaustion washed over us. I turned to Iroh, a soft smile on my face. "You did it, General Iroh."

Iroh's eyes sparkled with admiration and love. He reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair away from my face. "Yes, Fara, but we did. I'm incredibly proud of you. Your presence made a difference, not just to me but to the entire crew."

A blush crept up my cheeks as I leaned closer to him. "And I'm proud of you too, Iroh. Your leadership and bravery inspire me every day."

Iroh's smile widened, and he leaned in, his lips softly meeting mine in a tender kiss.

As we pulled away, our foreheads gently touching, I whispered, "I know why you missed work so much. You're meant to be a leader, and I'm so happy you found something you love to do."

Iroh smiled, his dimples on display. "Thank you, babe. You bring light and warmth to my life. With you by my side, I know we can conquer any challenge that comes our way."

Touched by his words, I rested my head against his shoulder. "Together, you and I will be the strongest couple in the entire world! We will dominate the Earth!"

A/n: I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself😭

In that peaceful moment, surrounded by the echoes of victory and the strength of our love, I realized that I didn't want to join the forces. However, I knew that I would be there for Iroh no matter what. Our bond was unbreakable, and together we would face whatever lay ahead, hand in hand.

A/n: filler ass chapter, but season 4 is approaching soon, don't worry :))
