I finish the song as I strum my purple guitar. The crowd cheers and asks for another song. I'm wearing a long sleeved purple shirt with black shorts and thigh high burgundy socks with ankle high black boots. I have a green sweater thrown over it all.
I start strumming the guitar to another song, the crowd cheering. I glance towards Gray at a table with the rest of our teammates, and feel a light blush dusting my cheeks when he smiles at me.
I hear Lucy say in awe, "Wow. I had no idea Reina could sing so beautifully."
Gray says in agreement, "Yeah, she does. She's one of the best." Lucy throws the ice wizard a knowing smile. I start singing the next song.

The crowd cheers and claps when I finish and say I'm gonna take a break. I go up to the bar and perch on the stool as I ask Mira for a whiskey. Gray comes over to me.
"Hey, Rei-chan."
I glance at him as I reply, "Hi, Gray."
Blushing, he compliments, "You were great up there."
"Thanks," I say, feeling another blush on my cheeks.
"You wanna join us for a job?" Gray asks.
I hesitate before replying, "What job do you have in mind?" Mira hands me my whiskey and I thank her before cracking it open. I take a big swig of it.
"We have to look for a magic amulet in a forest cave. The village is only a couple of hours away," Gray informs me.
"I guess I could join you guys," I tell him.
Gray grins as he says happily, "Great! I'll let them know."
He wanders back to the table while I finish my alcohol. Gray then informs Mira of our job and we go grab our bags. I have my purple backpack with me as we take the magic mobile. We drop in to see the client, which is a girl around my and Lucy's age who tells us she'd lost her magic amulet in the caves just outside the village while dealing with bandits.
My team and I enter the caves and pause at three tunnels branching off.
"Perhaps we should split up," Erza suggests. She turns to us. "Gray, you're with me. Natsu and Happy are one team, Lucy and Reina are another. Meet back here in three hours if you don't find anything." Wit that, Erza snatches the back of Gray's shirt collar and drags him down the tunnel with her.
He flails his arms, protesting about why he's the one who has to go with the requip mage to the tunnel on my far left.
"Alright, then. Come on, Happy!" Natsu cheers, grinning at his friend.
"Aye, sir!" The blue cat chimes before flying after Natsu.
Lucy says as she glances to me, smiling, "I guess that leaves us, then." I nod my head and we walk in silence down the tunnel to our right. It wasn't that dark in here, so we didn't need to worry about a light.
"So," Lucy speaks up, glancing at me. I meet her gaze through my bangs. "Gray seemed very impressed with your singing back there."
I blush at the memory. "Y-You noticed?"
"Of course! You should see if he'll ask you out!" Lucy nausea, nodding her head. I avert my gaze.
"I... don't know. I'm thinking of going to look for my brother again after this job," I reply hesitantly.
Lucy huffs, "Why are you so shy about it? You like Gray, right?" I nod my head. "Well, why don't you try talking to him about it? See how he feels?"
I let out a sigh as I close my eyes for a moment. "It's complicated, Lucy. And I'm not just talking about my search for my brother." I quickly glance at her to see a confused frown on the blonde's features. "... It's to do with my magic..."
"You're... magic...?" Lucy asks as she tilts her head.
"Yeah. You should know that as a Lost Magic, they were erased from the pages of history due to their dangerous side effects. Mine is no different. I read about it when I first discovered Arc of Reflection in the Library of Sorcery. Once I finally master my magic, once I can let myself go, to merge with my magic, to become one with very the concept, I cannot truly use it. Anyone who tries to force it upon themselves shatters, psychologically speaking. Their mind is unable to comprehend the vastness, and so, they break.
"And those who have completely merged with the Arc of Reflection, succeeding in their quest of mastering the lost magic, have gone so far out of reality that they have completely lost touch to their selves, they can never be the same again. Their minds contain things so deep, dark and unimaginable, that the gods themselves can't grasp onto it. They're barely human anymore, just duplicates of what they once were, shattering with the last drop of blood spilled." Here, I close my eyes. "And that's why I'm hesitant to confess anything romantic to Gray. I don't think I can hurt him like that."
I look at the celestial mage to see her staring at me with wide, wavering eyes and a slightly pale face.
"Oh, Reina," She murmurs softly. "I had no idea! But that shouldn't matter—to you or Gray! I'm sure he'll still care about you despite all of that! You need to talk to him!"
"It's not that simple, Lucy," I sigh heavily, turning my head away. She scowls at me in frustration. I blink my eyes when we finally step into a cavern with a large pool of crystal clear water at the other end. I put my hand on my hip as I gaze around. "We should look around here for the amulet."
Lucy nods and we begin searching. She goes and kneels by the pool, dipping her hand in. Lucy gasps, looking to me. "Reina! This water is so cool to the touch! And it's so clear, I could almost see the bottom! Come look!"
Lucy waves me over from the corner I'm studying and I crouch beside her. I really could see my reflection in the water, and almost to the bottom. "It is rather beautiful," I agree before standing up and half turning away. "We need to keep looking for the amulet, though."
As I was turning away, there's a rumble and my eyes widen as a giant fish monster nears the surface of the pool.
I say lowly, a glare darkening my features, "Lucy, get away from there."
"Huh?" She looks at me in confusion. "What do you mean...?" Lucy screams as the fist as big as the pool jumps out towards her, jaws agape and showing incredibly long, pointy teeth.
Lucy falls on her butt and remains frozen.
