Ponyboy walked into the house and heard banging noises coming from the kitchen. He walked into the kitchen and saw his middle brother starting dinner.
"Sit at the table and get your homework done." Soda said, without looking at the younger boy.
"Why are you so mad at me?" Pony asked, feeling his eyes water.
Soda stopped what he was doing and took a deep breath. He turned to face the younger boy.
"You lied to me and Darry." He said. His voice was stern but calm. "More then once. Then you didn't do your homework, three times. I think I have a right to be mad."
"I'm sorry." Pony said, as a few tears ran down his face.
Soda's face softened instantly at his brother's tears. He walked over to him and wrapped him in a tight hug.
"It's okay, Pones." He said, his voice now soft and comforting. "I'm still upset and I'm still gonna give ya a spanking for lying to me. But it'll be okay."
Ponyboy, who was now clinging to his older brother, started crying a little harder at the mention of a spanking. That meant he was getting two spankings, because he knew Darry was going to skin him.
"You earned it, Kiddo." Soda said, as he hugged the younger boy tighter and softly kissed the top of his head.
"But Darry's gonna skin me too." Pony said into Soda's chest.
"I know, you lied to him too. And he's the one to punish ya for the homework and detention." Soda said, as they pulled apart.
Soda ran a hand through the younger boy's hair and said. "You broke a few big rules this time, Pones. And you've gotta get punished for it so you won't do it again."
"But I don't want two spankings." Pony sniffled.
"I know." Soda said. "I don't want to spank you, but you are my kid brother and I will not let you get away with pulling crap like this."
Pony nodded, he knew his brother was serious and that there was no changing his mind.
"Come on into the bedroom, we might as well get it done now." Soda said kindly, placing a hand on Pony's shoulder and guiding him towards the bedroom. "You can do your homework afterwards."
"Do we have to?" Pony whined. He really did not want to go into the bedroom with Soda at the moment, but he didn't put up any resistance.
"It's best to get it over and done with." Soda said, as they entered the bedroom.
Soda sat on the bed and Pony stood in front of him.
"You don't lie to me, Ponyboy." Soda said in a stern voice. "I ask you everyday if you've done all of your homework, and you told me you had everyday this week."
"I'm sorry, Soda." Pony said softly. And he meant it, he felt bad about disappointing the older boy.
"I know, Kiddo." Soda said. "But I still gotta punish you. You know the drill."
With a sniffle, Pony unbuckled his jeans and pulled them and his underwear down to his knees. Then he laid across Soda's lap.
"Why are you here?" Soda asked.
"I lied to you about not having homework." Pony answered.
"Lying to me will always land you ass up over my knees." Soda said, bringing his hand down hard across Pony's butt.
"I won't do it again." Pony promised.
"You better not." Soda replied, landing another smack. Then he stopped talking and concentrated on turning his baby brother's bottom a dark pink color.
He wasn't planning on spanking him real hard, knowing Darry was going to light a fire on his ass later that evening. But he wanted to make sure the younger boy knew how he felt about him being honest with him.
"Owww, please stop!" Pony cried out as his butt was heated. "I'm soooorieee!"
Soda lifted one of his knees and landed several hard swats to the younger boy's undercurve and the tops of his thighs. Pony started sobbing and squirming.
Soda stopped the spanking and rubbed gentle circles on his brother's back.
"It's okay, Honey." He cooed, helping the younger boy up and moved him around so he was sitting on his lap. His sore butt hanging between his spread legs.
"It's over, Honey." Soda said, hugging the boy to his chest. "I forgive you Pones, it's all over."
"No it's not." Pony cried, as he clung to his older brother. "Darry's gonna kill me."
"He ain't gonna kill ya, Pony." Soda chuckled softly.
"He's gonna skin me." Pony said.
"Yeah, I know." Soda said. "But after he skins ya, he'll hug you and tell you you're forgiven. Just be up front with him and don't stall, you know he hates that."
Darry walked into the house, tired and sore from a day's hard work. The smell of baked chicken made him feel a lot better, he was hungry.
"That you Dar?" Soda's voice called out from the kitchen.
"Yeah, it's me." Darry called back. He kicked off his shoes and removed his toolbelt. Then he walked into the kitchen.
Soda was stirring something on the stove and Pony was sitting the table.
"Hey boys." Darry smiled.
"Hey, big brother." Soda greeted him with his own smile. "Dinner will be ready in about half an hour."
"Good." The oldest boy replied. "It smells great. I'm going to take a quick shower."
Then he noticed the way Ponyboy was standing very still and staring at the floor.
"You okay, Pony?" Darry asked with concern.
Pony remained silent, until Soda placed a hand on his back and gently shoved him towards Darry.
"What happed?" Darry asked, his voice taking on a sterner tone.
Pony gulped, then said "I got in trouble at school"
"What kind of trouble?" Darry asked. "Eyes up."
Pony looked up and then regretted it when he saw the stern expression on his oldest brother's face.
Soda cleared his throat and nudged Pony a little closer to Darry.
"I um......I lied about not having math homework three times this week and got a detention." Pony rushed out, then returned his eyes to the floor.
Darry sighed and ran a hand over his face.
"I'm real sorry, Darry." Pony said softly.
"I'm going to make certain of that." Darry growled out. "Go to your room and find a corner, I will be there as soon as I shower."
"Soda already spanked me." Pony blurted out. "And made me write lines."
"And now I'm going to spank and ground you." Darry replied. "Now go."
Pony wanted to argue, but knew it would only make Darry even more mad. So he did as he was told.
Pony had been in the corner for about fifteen minutes when he heard the door open and Darry walk into the room and sat on the bed.
"Come here, Ponyboy." Darry said. His voice was stern, but also sounded very tired.
Pony turned around and walked over to the seated boy, standing in front of him.
"You know how I feel about you lying to me." Darry lectured. "And you know that you're expected to do all of your homework, weather you want to or not. School is too important for you to screw around like this."
Darry reached out and pulled down his youngest brother's sweatpants, which he had put on after Soda spanked him. His underwear followed.
"Lets get it over with." Darry said, as he guided the younger boy over his lap.
Pony let out a whine, but didn't resist. He grabbed his brother's leg for support and waited. But he didn't have to wait long.
Darry landed a volley of hard swats, causing Pony to start crying. His butt was still tender from the earlier spanking and Darry was hitting hard and fast.
"Pleeeeaseee Stoooop!" Pony cried out.
Darry ignored the plea and kept spanking the reddening butt across his lap. Then he started to focus on the boy's upper thighs, causing Pony to start sobbing loudly.
Darry stopped the spanking and gently sat the sobbing boy in his lap, hugging him tightly.
"It's all over, Honey." Darry said. "All's forgiven, it's okay."
Pony clung to his oldest brother's chest and continued to cry into his chest.
After a few minutes, the sobs were reduced to the occasional sniffle.
"I'm sorry, Dar." Pony said, sitting up.
"It's okay, Pony." Darry said, kissing his forehead. Then he sighed and added "You are grounded this weekend, and will be doing a lot of math work."
Pony sniffled and nodded.
Darry helped the teenager off of his lap and helped him pull his clothes back up. Then Darry stood up and ruffled Pony's hair.
"Come on, Kiddo. I'm starving, let's go and see weird concoction Soda's dreamed up to go with the chicken."
