[Last week's chapter did extraordinarily, I seem to be writing something you guys like, and that's really cool. So not much this week other than a simple thank you from me here, I hope you end up enjoying this chapter just as much or even before. So, get your socks, because this week it's THE READER... VS... THE GUY NO ONE CARES ABOUT!!!]
__________________________________________________________________________________

[Your POV]

You know, I guess I expected some kind of response when I walked out in the costume I had chosen. And sure, some second glances or a pile of shock were bound to come my way. But I didn't expect everyone to still be looking at me like I was the centre of attention. That's exactly the last thing I wanted, yet now, I'm forced to just stand here, ignore the looks coming my way, and just hope things can move along. Though, of course, moving along wasn't one of the things to come when you have a friend like Bakugo in life. It wasn't long until the familiar voice entered the air.

Bakugo: "Dude! What the hell, bro? Why didn't you tell me?!"

(Y/n): "Tell you what?"

Bakugo: "Uh, for one! The fact you did a cool entrance without ya boy!"

Of course, he's annoyed about that. Though, before I could respond. He was quick to punch my arm yet again.

Bakugo: "And secondly! You designed such a badass costume and you didn't even let me see it first!"

(Y/n): [Chuckles] "Are you seriously that mad about this?"

Bakugo: "Dude! I feel like my Dad when I told Mom he snuck in pizza to the house during her 'cleansing week'."

(Y/n): "Damn. That bad?"

I didn't necessarily need an answer to that one if what Bakugo said was indeed true. Now, don't get me wrong, I like Bakugo's Mom. She's nice and caring, despite the resemblance to her son. But she can quickly be loud and rather frustrated easily. But she was not as frustrated as she was the day one of her 'girlfriends', as she liked to call it, brought up this fitness food program. And, of course, with Bakugo's Mom being a part of the inner circle of neighbourhood moms, she was down to put her family through the torture.

Though, to no one's surprise, Bakugo and his Dad were not so willing. Of course, Bakugo found no such problem in making his frustrations known to his Mother. His Father on the other hand, well, it was safe to say he feared his wife more than any husband probably should. Long story short, he couldn't last more than a few days before he crumbled and ordered a pizza, and when Bakugo's Mom found out about such, again, thanks to Bakugo, well, it was safe to say Mr. Bakugo was in the doghouse for a good while.

Bakugo: "But that matters little right now. What matters is-"

"(Y/n)?"

(Y/n): "Huh?"

Before I was even in the process of turning around, I was cut off by the look that crossed Bakugo's face. A smug grin mixed with a narrowed gaze was all I needed to know to confirm who was behind me. Finally, upon turning around, my suspicions were confirmed. There, behind me, stood Iida, who looked like a Transformer, and Uraraka, the latter the one to call my name. But the noticeable thing of it all was the fact she was seemingly struggling to look at me. Before I could properly register it, a helpful pat on the back and a suggestive whisper from Bakugo cut me off.

Bakugo: [Whispers] "That's it, my child, fish. Fish, I say!"

(Y/n): "Dude!"Bakugo: "You'll thank me later!"

The final remark to come from Bakugo as he turned around, and thankfully, walked away. However, that did just leave me with Iida and Uraraka. As much as I would have loved to have kept my mask on to hide my facial expressions from them, talking with it on wasn't exactly one of the costume's strong points. In the end, I took off the mask and allowed it to hang over the back of my head. Giving me room to properly breathe, whilst allowing Uraraka and Iida to properly look at me.

Uraraka: "What did Bakugo mean by 'fish'?"

(Y/n): "Not what you're thinking. Trust me. But, hey, who knows, he keeps running his mouth and he might end up seeing some fishes sooner or later."

Again, it appeared like Uraraka missed the point I was trying to make. Though, I was not in the mood to describe what I was referring to, so I just decided to leave it at that.

(Y/n): "...Anyway, what's up, guys?"

Uraraka: "U-Uh, nothing. Nothing! J-Just wanted to, um... To say t-that your suit... I- It looks..."

It seemed Uraraka was struggling to say what she wanted to. But despite her best attempts, she knew it was futile. So, in the end, she just turned to the boy next to her with a flustered look that screamed 'HELP ME!'.

Iida: "What I think Uraraka is trying to say is that your suit looks cool."

Uraraka: [Sighs defeatedly] "...That's the one."

(Y/n): "Oh? Uh, thanks, I guess."

Iida: "Though, if you do ask me, isn't the suit rather... Dark?"

I couldn't help but feel a little set off by those words. Whether or not Iida was trying to judge me was one question that was hard to figure out. Maybe he was just an elite like Bakugo said. I think my narrowed gaze mixed with my next words gave off such an idea.

(Y/n): "What can I say, man? I don't put on a suit to make friends. I put it on to make those who do wrong pay for their mistakes."

Iida: "Yes, but--"

Uraraka: "B-But what Iida is trying to say is he thinks your suit looks cool and we're not judging you at all!"

As soon as her sentence came to an end, Uraraka was quick to offer a sharp glare up at Iida.

Uraraka: "Right, Iida?!"

Iida: "Of course, but isn't it--"

Uraraka: "Right?!"

Iida: [Sighs] "...Right."

A short period of Uraraka continuing to offer Iida a stern glare passed by before she suddenly dropped it and turned back to me. A large energetic, yet seemingly nervous smile finding her face.

Uraraka: [Twiddles fingers] "A-Anyway, I just wanted to come and say your costume looks cool." [Chuckles lightly] "You're lucky, really. I should have written what I wanted... Mine ended up being a skintight bodysuit."

Something I had not noticed up until now. But now that I did! Well, as much as I like to keep to myself, it's kinda hard to do that when a girl outright points to the fact she's wearing clothing that is legitimately clinging to her body. As soon as Uraraka brought up the fact, my eyes unconsciously wandered on their own. I could feel the patches of red cross my cheeks as I desperately tried to avoid making eye contact. Now it was my turn to offer a nervous chuckle.

(Y/n): "Uh..." [Chuckles] "Y-Yeah. I guess you should have, h-huh?"

Even though he wasn't standing with us, I could sense the gaze and amused grin coming from Bakugo from behind. I just knew I'd be stuck with this for the rest of the day. Thankfully, Uraraka nor Iida seemed to notice my lapse of personality. Though, something Uraraka did know, however, was my nervous smile. Something she took as the first sign that I was opening up, as it was the first time I had somewhat smiled when in the presence of anyone other than Bakugo.

All Might: "Alright, everyone! Gather around! It is time for the combat training to begin!"

Huh? Who knew All Might of all people would be the person to save me from an awkward situation? Nonetheless, I didn't hesitate to take that as my opportunity to quickly take an exit from all of this!

(Y/n): "Oh, uh, it looks like class is starting. I-I better get going."

Uraraka: "Oh, yeah, totally, dude!"

(Y/n): "Um...Alright? A-Anyway... Uh, bye?"

Boy, as awkward conversations go, that ending was pretty... bad. I was just glad I could get out of there before things got worse. Especially going off that last glance Iida was giving Uraraka before I dipped.

[3rd Person POV]

Iida: "Seriously? 'Dude'? I'm sorry, Uraraka, I understand you want to become (Y/n)'s friend, but I think forcing such words, especially in an awkward sense such as the way you did, will not help  you."

Uraraka: "I know! Okay?! I know!" [Sighs] "...Who knew coming here would be so hard in getting friends. I thought the school part would be the worse." [Mumbles] "Guess I was wrong."

Iida: "Uraraka, if you don't mind me asking, why exactly are you so focused on becoming friends with (Y/n)?"

Uraraka: "H-Huh? Focused? I-I'm not focused... You are!" [Blushes] "Hehe..."

Iida: "Yes, on other things. Like today's exam. But you seem to be highly concentrated on becoming friends with (Y/n). After all, you did ask me to come over with you to purposely talk to him."

Uraraka: "Yeah! To say how cool his suit was!"

Iida: "I do not believe that is the only reason."

Uraraka: "...A-And maybe because I think I hurt (Y/n)'s feelings earlier and I don't want to make a bad impression on anyone. Especially on my first day!"

Iida: [Scratches chin] "I suppose that is a valid reason. Having someone dislike you can definitely be a big distraction on your work. Well done, Uraraka! You're putting your studies before anything else, excellent!"

Uraraka: "Huh? Oh, yeah... Thanks."Though it was clear by the tone in her words that Uraraka's main focus was not on what Iida had just said. Such suspicions were confirmed when the boy with glasses turned to the girl next to him to see her gaze still focused on (Y/n) even as he walked away.

Iida: [Sighs] "Who knew coming to U.A. would lead to so much drama? I'd much rather focus on my stud--"

Uraraka: "Do you think (Y/n) has a bad life?"

Iida: "Huh? Sorry?"

Uraraka: "I don't know. I just look at him and get a vibe that he seems to be a very sad person. Which sucks, you know. No one should be sad."

Iida: "Whereas that is something we all hope for, Uraraka, unfortunately, this is the real world. People are bound to be sad sometimes."

Uraraka: "Yeah, I know... There's just something about (Y/n) that seems different though."

Though as Iida's gaze followed Uraraka's to land on (Y/n), he didn't see anything out of the usual. Yet, before he could bring such a fact to the girl next to him, Uraraka had already taken off to join the others that had now gathered together as All Might went over today's lesson.

All Might: "Now, can anyone tell me where we are?"

Iida: [Raises hand] "Sir! We are in the battle centre from the entrance exam."

All Might: "Correct!" [Holds up peace sign] "Today we will be moving two steps ahead! Because, as I am sure some of you can guess, fighting villains often takes place outside. But if you look at the numbers, atrocious villains appear indoors at a higher rate. Imprisonment, house arrest, backroom deals-- In a society filled with heroes, truly intelligent villains hide in the shadows!"

A remark that immediately resonated with (Y/n). Mainly because, once he becomes a Pro Hero, he intended to end that. He wanted there to be no place for villains to hide. No matter how smart they were.

All Might: "For this class, you'll be split up into villains and heroes and fight 2-on-2 indoor battles."

Tsuyu: "Without basic training?"

All Might: "This is a real battle to understand those basics! However, the key this time is there are no robots for you to just beat up."

Bakugo: "Haha! I guess (Y/n) can't go all out this one, huh, dude?!"

Nothing but a glance came from the aforementioned male as his friend nudged his shoulder repeatedly. Something that caused Kaito, who had been standing a few positions behind the pair, to glare.

All Might: "Ha! Ha! Indeed, you are correct, young Bakugo! But just like Mr. Midoriya, you all will learn that sometimes you must know when to go all out, and when to think smart."

(Y/n): "Ha! So I guess Bakugo can't go out on this one too!" [Turns to Bakugo and smirks] "Hey, buddy?"

Immediately a few chuckles, mainly from the boys, and a few girls, rose from the crowd. Bakugo just narrowed his gaze at his friend as (Y/n) just nudged him back.

Yaoyorozu: "How will wins and losses be determined?"

Uraraka: "Will punishment be expulsion like Mr. Aizawa?"

Iida: "How shall we split up?"

Aoyama: "Isn't my cape... Crazy?"

Kaito: "Can we beat them up?"

Bakugo: "Ha! Need to beat up your depression first, Kaito!"

Kaito: "Why you little--I-I mean... Sir?! I do believe such words are not accepted here, no?"

All Might: "Indeed. That is enough, Bakugo." [Turns to Yaoyorozu] "As for your question, this is how things will play out today. The situation at hand is that villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in their hideout. The heroes are trying to dispose of it. The heroes need to capture the villains or shut off the nuclear weapon in the allotted time. The villains need to protect the weapon the whole time or catch the heroes. As for teams. They'll be decided by the fairest way possible... Pulling names out of a hat!"

Iida: "Well, that's anticlimactic."

All Might: "Now, everyone! Come write your names down on a piece of paper and we'll get this party started! Yeah!"

A very aggressive thumbs up was immediately thrown into the air by All Might as (Y/n) and the others hesitantly approached the hero to do as tasked. So from that point on the task of selecting teams of two took place. Countless students were partnered up after picking a piece of paper from the hat each. Some were eager with their partners, some questioned kicking them... Like Bakugo with Mineta.

Bakugo: "Sir! This isn't fair! How come I'm partnered with this freak?! Why can't I be partnered with (Y/n)?" [Thoughts] "We'd be so badass! We'd totally get girls' attention then!"

All Might: "While I admire your tendency for friendship. Unfortunately, in the world of heroes, we are sometimes forced to randomly partner up with other heroes we do not know. Today's task will showcase such a feat."

Bakugo: [Mumbles and sighs] "This is total bullshit."

Mineta: "Don't worry, Bakugo! I won't let you down!"

Bakugo: "Did... The worm just talk to me?"

A vicious, typical glare of a bully immediately spawned on Bakugo's face as he slowly turned his head. A dark aura surrounded his body as he repeated the previous statement towards a fearful Mineta.

Bakugo: "Did the worm... Just talk to me?"

Mineta: "U-Uh, um... Y-Yes? I-I mean, no! No?"

Bakugo: "Listen here, worm. I don't want to be your partner. I'm not your partner. You stay out of my way and just be a shadow, all right?"

Mineta: "Y-Yes, Mr. Bakugo, sir. N-No problem, M-Mr. Bakugo, s-sir..."

All that came as a response from Bakugo was a sharp glare and growl, enough to make Mineta nervously chuckle as he retreated into himself. Not too far away (Y/n) could be watching the scene with a chuckle and grin. As Bakugo's best friend, it was (Y/n)'s duty to find amusement in his friends suffering. It wasn't long after that his attention was directed to the side, where Kaito could be seen grinning toward Yaoyorozu, who could clearly be seen reluctantly listening to the words of the annoying male.

Kaito: "What do you think, Yaoyorozu? Hope we're on a team together?"

Yaoyorozu: "I don't care what team I am on. As long as they can be sufficient in today's exam is all that matters."

Kaito: "Oh, is that so~"

It was at this point that Kaito's gaze snuck out from the corner of his eye to line up with (Y/n). Upon noticing the aforementioned male looking his way, Kaito was quick to turn back to Yaoyorozu, his smirk ever the more present than before.

Kaito: "Oh, don't you worry. I can be very... sufficient~"

Once more Kaito made sure to say this whilst glancing at (Y/n) from the side, clearly, he was trying to rub the fact in that he was talking to who was probably already considered to be the most attractive girl in the class. Though, in his attempt to show off at (Y/n), Kaito seemed to outright ignore the fact that Yaoyorozu was merely allowing him to speak his words to just be polite. As for (Y/n), he just stared back at the asshole in complete confusion.

That was until he was suddenly cut off from the scene when a whole explosion of sunshine and rainbows burst in front of his face. Well, not exactly. But that's the exact description he'd give Uraraka's arrival if he had to. Either way, it seemed (Y/n) would be stuck with such a display for the rest of class as his partner's reveal came to be known. And it was fair to say Uraraka seemed very excited about all of it when put together.

Uraraka: "Wow! This must be fate, right, (Y/n)?! I can't believe we're partners?! This is awesome and totally of random chance!"

(Y/n): "Uh, yeah, I guess..."

Uraraka just continued to smile brightly at the boy she was trying to befriend. Though she was worried about her words, as they may have been a little too on the nose.

--A Few Minutes Earlier--

Uraraka: "Please! Please! Please give me your slip of paper! I know you drew (Y/n)'s name, but I really need to be his partner!"

The look of urgency was one thing to set off the scene of Kirishima minding his own business when out of nowhere the energetic, and seemingly desperate, girl popped out of nowhere. Though seeing such caused the young boy with spiky red hair to just narrow his gaze and scratch his chin at the suddenness of it all.

Kirishima: "Hmm... I don't know. (Y/n) seems pretty strong going off the Urban exam. Having him as my partner for this will definitely do good for my grades."

Uraraka: "And I get that, I totally do. But why can't we swap just this once? Please! Please! Please!"

Kirishima: "How come you want to be partners with (Y/n) so bad...? Do you just want the good grades for yourself?"

Uraraka: "What? No. I just wanna become his friend, and being his partner in today's exam will be the best way to show him I can be the perfect person for the job!"

Kirishima: "You want to be his friend? That's why you're begging to have the slip of paper with his name on it?"

Uraraka: "Yes."

Kirishima: "Huh? Well, sorry, Uraraka, but I need good grades otherwise my parents will--"

Uraraka: [Sighs] "I pulled Ashido's name out of the hat. You can be her partner and show her how cool you are if you just give me (Y/n)'s."

The miserable look on Uraraka's face showcased she was hesitant to do such a thing knowing how guys can be around girls. Especially when the ability to show off is involved. Though, this seemed to be the trick to work, as within seconds Kirishima snatched the slip of paper out of Uraraka's hand and swapped it with (Y/n)'s.

Kirishima: "Deal!" [Chuckles] "Honestly, you should have just started with that."

Uraraka: [Blankly Blinks] "I know... But I was trying to hold off for her sake."

Kirishima: "Haha! This is going to be sick! I'll be sure to show her just how great I am!"

Uraraka: "And you're not even listening." [Sighs] "This is why I was hesitant."

But right now, Uraraka couldn't really complain much as she now had the perfect opportunity at hand to showcase herself in a right manner to grow closer to (Y/n) and become his friend! And that needed to happen now was for today's combat training exam to begin, thankfully, All Might seemed more than willing to do such.

All Might: "Alright! Let's get straight into it! The first two teams to be fighting will be..."

A stillness filled the void of silence as everyone eagerly watched All Might move his hands around two boxes, one black, whilst the other was white, signally which teams would be the heroes and the villains. But when the Number One hero finally removed his hands to showcase who was going up first, the stillness remained.

All Might: "...These guys!"

'D' and 'A' were both chosen from the boxes. 'A' was, of course, (Y/n) and Uraraka, but when they looked around to see who 'D' was. There was definitely some added tension when the pair noticed their opponents would be none other than Kaito and Iida. The former bringing a noticeable smirk to his lips as he glared off with his rival. Even more so when he found out what exact part he'd be playing in this little exam.

All Might: "Team A will be the heroes, and Team D will be the villains. Everyone else, please head toward the monitor rooms, I will join you there shortly after setting up the first teams."

"Yes, sir!"

The combined voices sounded loudly as they heeded the words of their teacher. As for (Y/n), he remained where he was, his gaze narrowing sharply as he glared off into the distance toward Kaito, who returned the gesture. As for the bystanders, Uraraka and Iida seemed to notice such. But before either one of them could bring it up, (Y/n)'s attention was taken elsewhere when the hand of Bakugo landed on his shoulder. All the young boy needed was to shift his gaze to know what his best friend was about to say.

Bakugo: "Make sure you kick his ass, alright, (Y/n)? Because, remember, this is a training exam... Shit can get real, real quick! Plenty of 'accidents' can happen."

A suggestive wink, wink, nudge, nudge furthered Bakugo's point as (Y/n) chuckled before the voice of Kaito yelled from the distance.

"I HEARD THAT, KATSUKI! Ain't no accidents happening today!"

Bakugo: "Ha! Yeah! You're just the exception, huh, Kaito?!"

"Who do you think--"

Bakugo: "Yah! Yah! Yah!" [Mutters] "Eat a pile of dirt you walking shit stain." [Turns to you and smiles] "Anyway, best of luck, crush it, crush Kaito's face, either way, I'll be supporting you." [Turns to Uraraka] "As for you, make sure to concentrate, alright? I know how girls can get distracted, especially when cute boys are around--'

(Y/n): "Dude!"

Bakugo: "Okay! Okay! I'm going... Geez. So much for appreciation."

(Y/n) just rolled his eyes as he walked off himself, such left Uraraka standing alone for a moment as she thought over Bakugo's words. Something she couldn't help but chuckle at.

Uraraka: [Chuckles lightly] "That Bakugo sure is a funny guy. Why would I get distracted today? Especially because of cute boys? It's not like there are just random cute boys around here, right?"

"Yo! Uraraka, you, uh... You coming with, or what?"

Uraraka: "Huh?"

It was at this point that Uraraka's gaze shifted back to (Y/n), as it did, the young girl found the whole world around her fading away as she looked at the boy and unconsciously remembered Bakugo's words. It was unclear what exactly went through her mind at that moment. Heck, even Uraraka struggled to understand what was going on. But before she could think over it anymore, she noticed (Y/n) had given up on waiting for her and went back to leaving by himself. As soon as she realized such, Uraraka dropped all previous thoughts and chased after her partner. A partner who she was going to become friends with today. She just knew it!

*******

"Villain team, go in first and set up! In five minutes, the hero team will break into the building and the battle will start!"

Neither Kaito or Iida hesitated once as they entered the building some distance away from the entrance of the battle centre. But as the pair go to set up for the battle that was about to go down, All Might took this time to make his way over to (Y/n) and Uraraka. The pair could currently be seen getting ready themselves, though whereas Uraraka seemed desperate to pump herself up, whether that be by jumping on the spot or stretching, (Y/n) just stood in place. His cool and collected persona once more on display, only for his focus to shift suddenly as All Might reached them.

All Might: "Okay, you two. Before you go in there and be awesome, a word of advice. Remember that for this exam, Kaito and Iida will not be seen as heroes, but as villains. I have instructed them both to think from the perspective of villains. So do not be surprised if they go all out, even if it means them getting hurt."

Uraraka: "Don't worry, All Might! We won't fail! Right, (Y/n)?!"

(Y/n): [Turns to All Might] "Good. I hope they go all out. Because I'll be doing the exact same."

All Might: "Ha! Ha! Yes!" [Thumbs up] "That is the spirit! But, if things do happen to get out of hand, I will interfere. So you don't have to worry too much!"

With his smile as ever-present as normal, All Might offered another thumbs up. Meanwhile, near the top floor of the building, Kaito and Iida could be seen finally reaching the area where the nuclear weapon that were supposed to protect. Though Iida seemed a little hesitant on the whole process whilst Kaito blended into the villain role naturally.

Iida: "Even if this is just training, it pains me to become a villain."

It's as he says this that his gaze lands on the large rocket in the centre of the room.

Iida: "So this is what we're supposed to protect?" [Taps on the rocket] "Huh, it's papier-mâché?" [Turns around] "So, Kaito, what do you think the plan should--"

Kaito: "The plan is you shutting up and notgetting in my way."

Iida: "I'm sorry?"

Kaito: "I said... The plan is you shutting up and not getting in my way."

The sudden harshness was definitely a surprise to Iida. Up to this point, Kaito had seemed to be a pretty respectful guy, at least, that's what he wanted the teachers and fellow students to think. But as Iida was starting to understand, there was a reason behind the rumored dislike between his partner and (Y/n). Such waseven more confirmed as the bully faced off with the slightly taller Iida.

Kaito: "Listen, when this stupid examstarts, I'll be the one to go after Deku and that girl, got it?"Iida: "And what about me?"Kaito: "You?" [Grins] "How about you stayhere and look after the bomb? You think you can do that?"

Iida: "Well, yes, but I really do thi--"

Kaito: "Good. So get to it."

And just like that Kaito dropped his grin and brought back his glare. Iida didn't necessarily know what to do in the situation, but it seemed he didn't have much of a choice as before he could say anything else, Kaito had already turned around and went to leave the room. Even if Iida had chosen to say something right now, Kaito wouldn't have heard a word.

As currently the only thing on his mind was proving to the rest of the class that (Y/n) Midoriya was a nobody. More precisely, a nobody who needed to learn his place. Just the thought of it brought about a rage inside of Kaito. The young boy clenching his fist as he exited the room and slammed the door behind him. His thought's never once leaving his head like a mantra.

Kaito: "I have no rival. I have no rival. I have no rival. I have no rival."

But such a thing would soon be either proven or denied in a matter of time. Back outside the building, a wayward sigh escapes (Y/n)'s lips as he stares up at the building in front of me. Meanwhile, beside him, Uraraka was trying her best to understand the layout of the villain's hideout the best she could from the paper given to her by All Might.

Uraraka: "Come on. Come on. Come on."

Though, the words were enough for (Y/n) to realize the struggle that came with such a task. Glancing down at Uraraka was all it took to confirm the reality.

(Y/n): "Everything alright?"

Uraraka: "Huh?" [Looks at you] "O-Oh. Um, yeah. It's fine. Hehe... It's just a lot of work to memorize the building's floor plan. I'm just trying to figure out exactly where this nuclear weapon could--"

(Y/n): "It's on the top floor."

Uraraka: "Wait. What? How do you know that?"

(Y/n): "Well, going off the fact that the entrance exam was pretty realistic from actual events, there's no reason to suspect that things here would be different. Villains normally place their secret weapons at the top floor, allowing them time to activate it whilst the hero tries to reach it." [Turns to Uraraka] "That, or just the fact if they planted it at the bottom floor, upon launching the weapon, it'ddestroy the entire building, thus killing the villains as well."

Uraraka was stunned. That's the only proper word that could describe the sudden emotion that filled the young girl as she stared at (Y/n). It was incredible! A boy who she had come to understand was more so waiting for time to go by than actually involving himself in the class work was now delivering not only sustainable information, but such information could definitely help them in today's exam. Just realizing it brought a large smile to Uraraka's face as she looked at (Y/n).

Uraraka: "Wow! (Y/n), that's incredible! I can't believe you know all that?"

(Y/n): "Eh. It's nothing special. I use toreally be into heroes when I was younger."

Uraraka: "Oh, really? That's cool..."

But not as cool as the fact (Y/n) was finally opening up to her! They were so close to being friends, Uraraka could just feel she was on the right path.

(Y/n): "Yeah, well, who's not into heroes when they're young, right?"

Uraraka was about to respond, but as (Y/n)'s sentence came to an end, the young boy did something she most definitely did not expect. Because, just when she presumed (Y/n) was going to keep his gaze on the building before them, out of nowhere he abruptly turned toward her and offered a soft smile. Just seeing such a reaction was enough for Uraraka to smile herself. She had managed to make (Y/n) smile twice in the duration of a single class, and it wasn't even over yet!

(Y/n): "Anyway, I think those five minutes are up. Guess we should probably start heading in now, right?"

Uraraka: "Yeah, totally!" [Chuckleshappily] "Lead the way, partner!"

(Y/n): "Um... Alright? Sure."

A confused chuckle was all that came from the male as he flicked on his mouth and took off to find a suitable entrance to the building. As for Uraraka, she waited for (Y/n) to get a few feet ahead before she silently slapped her forehead and cursed herself for calling (Y/n) 'partner'. Thankfully, Uraraka couldn't do much else to herself before the realization that (Y/n) was about to enter the building without her clicked into her mind. So, with all the enthusiasm she could possibly gather, Uraraka mentally prepared herself. Not only to pass this exam, but to also show (Y/n) that she could be the perfect person to become friends with.

"Now, let's start the indoor person-to-person combat training with Team A and Team D!"

With the sound of All Might echoing over the speakers, it was at this time that a window could be seen slowly opening from the second floor of the villain's hideout. A few seconds later and the silent figures of (Y/n) and Uraraka slowly sneak their way in. Their feet softly planting themselves on the ground as they successfully infiltrated the building, such which Uraraka decided to announce vocally.

Uraraka: "We infiltrated successfully!"A side glance was all (Y/n) offered to the girl upon hearing her state such an obvious situation. But nothing more came from (Y/n) as he slowly started to walk down the metal hallway, as for Uraraka, she was more than happy to keep whispering to her teammate as she went about shutting the window.

Uraraka: [Chuckles] "I guess you could say we're off to a good start, right, (Y/n)? (Y/n)?"

When no reply came, the young girl found herself spinning around, expecting to find her teammate there waiting for her. But to Uraraka's surprise, (Y/n) had taken off with out her. An adorable look offrustration later and Uraraka took off for (Y/n). She wasn't just going to let the guy she was trying to become friends with get away that easily, as much as he may want to. Yet, even as she arrived alongside (Y/n), the young boy did not waver his gaze from the dark hallway ahead of them.

(Y/n): "There are a lot of blind spots in this building. So you have to be careful when maneuvering around. Got it?"

Uraraka: [Giggles] "Alright, sure? But what about you? I mean, you have to be just as careful, right?"

Upon hearing this, (Y/n) just silently twisted his head to look down at Uraraka. Instantly her smile dropped, replaced with regret and slight fear as a nervous chuckle silently came from her lips as she was faced straight on with the gaze of the mask (Y/n) wore. Just seeing it up close completely made Uraraka disregard the blank look he was definitely giving her underneath of it upon hearing what she had just said. But he decided against mentioning any of it. Instead, he just reverted his gaze and continued walking.

(Y/n): "There's no point in me trying to be careful, I already know Kaito will be searching for me like a rabid dog. So when he shows up, you just make a run for the weapon, okay?"

Uraraka: "And just leave you alone to fight him?! No way am I doing that to my partner!" [Thoughts] "Especially when I gotta prove to you that I can be cool and tough like Bakugo. Then I'll definitely become your friend."

Again, (Y/n) sighed. Even so, he stillreplied after a short while.

(Y/n): "Look, I don't mean to be rude or anything. But I know Kaito, and I know what he's like. He doesn't care about protecting that weapon. He just wants to hurt people like the asshole in life that he is. So we might as well take the opportunity to get this class over with and win."

Uraraka: "Wow. You two really don't like each other, huh?"

(Y/n): "...Yep."

Uraraka: "I mean, at first, I just thought it was some misunderstanding. But then I started noticing all the glares he gives you, and how Bakugo yells at him, and Irealized that, nope. No, sir. These two are definitely not friends!"

(Y/n) couldn't help but look down at Uraraka as she said all these things, as she did, she made sure to swipe the air with her finger, like an adult getting cross with a baby. It was actually pretty adorable, enough to make (Y/n) chuckle lightly.

(Y/n): "Yeah, I guess you could say that."

But, of course, Uraraka did not let such a feat go unnoticed. Her body coming to an abrupt stop momentarily when she heard the familiar chime of laughter. When she noticed that such a noise had come from (Y/n), she couldn't help but smile. But how could she not? With each conversation they had, the young boy who had somehow caught Uraraka's attention, was slowly opening up to her. She just knew that by the end of this exam, her and (Y/n) were officially going to be friends.

Unbeknownst to Uraraka, however, there were always going to be trials in the path of such a prizedachievement. Though, even knowing Kaito would be out to hunt him. (Y/n) was left surprised when after five minutes of aimlessly walking through the halls of the villain's hideout left him with no interaction with his school bullywhatsoever. But as (Y/n) thought over it, maybe thatwas for the best. Even with his old powers, (Y/n) would be able to hold his ownagainst Kaito and his fire Quirk. Though, adding One For All into that equation and (Y/n) could outright kill Kaito if he wasn't careful.

And as much as (Y/n) liked to walk the narrow path in life without a care, even he thought killing his school bully wouldn't even be seen right in the eyes of an Anti- Hero. Even with how much of an asshole Kaito could be. So, as the minutes continued to tick by, (Y/n) focused on keeping a level head for when the impending battle finally did take place. As for Uraraka, she couldn't help but silently walk by (Y/n)'s side and smile as she witnessed how effortlessly he seemed to be taking the exam so far.

Uraraka: [Thoughts] "Wow! (Y/n) really sure does know what he's doing. He's walking through these halls like he knows them! There's no way I could be this confident going into my first mission." [Out Loud] "S-So, (Y/n), how long have you known Bakugo for?"

(Y/n): "Huh?"

The question honestly came out of nowhere, (Y/n) wasn't expecting it. Causing him to be left stumped for a moment as he attempted to respond.

(Y/n): "Uh, Bakugo? I've known him since we were kids. Why?"

Uraraka: "Oh, no reason, justwondering..." [Twiddles fingers together] "You two just seem pretty close is all."

(Y/n): "Um... Yeah? I guess?" [Thoughts] "Don't tell me she likesBakugo? Ha! I'm totally gonna tease him about this later, or maybe not~"

But whilst (Y/n) was focused on the prospect of either teasing his friend, or keeping the potential knowledge that a girl may like him. Uraraka on the other hand was desperately trying to have a breakthrough in her attempt to befriend (Y/n). And so far, an unorthodox way made itself appear before her.

Uraraka: [Thoughts] "So if (Y/n) and Bakugo are friends, then maybe if I act like Bakugo, I can become (Y/n)'s friend? Could that work?"

Before she could come to a conclusion to such a question, Uraraka's gaze was suddenly lifted when a flash appeared out the corner of her eye. Already ahead of her was (Y/n), a fierce glare making its way through the mask as Uraraka's gazewidened upon seeing who it was. A little farther down the hall, Kaito could be seen as the cause of the sudden draw ofattention.

The young boy, currently dressed in his costume, a rather simplistic one, with the majority of clothes being black and red, with a brief bit of white in the centre. Along with it, a cape, which carried the same colour pattern, hung off his shoulders. But the thing both (Y/n) and Uraraka noticed first off, was the wicked grin that sprung across the bully's lips as he focused in on (Y/n).

Kaito: "Well, well, well. What do we have here? A pair of heroes?"

With his words entering the air, Kaito proceeded to lift his hands into the air. A pair of flames forming instantly. Just seeing such a sight was enough to capture Uraraka's attention, so much so she was only brought to a stop when she failed to realize (Y/n) had done so himself. The young girl ended up bumping into his back. But as she looked up at her partner, Uraraka saw nothing more but a mere glare. One that spoke out the rage and anger (Y/n) felt for the boy across from him.

Kaito: "You know, Deku, you may have some suit that the others think is cool. But that won't fool me from knowing you're still the same old wimp I knew in Junior high."

(Y/n) just glared back as Kaito's gaze set itself onto the girl standing beside his rival.

Kaito: "And as for you, you're making the wrong choice following this guy around. I mean, everyone that does so always seems to end up getting hurt." [Smirks at you] "Ain't that right, Deku?"

Uraraka: "What are you saying, Kaito? You don't have to be so--"

(Y/n): "Don't worry about him."

Uraraka: "Huh?"

Was she surprised by (Y/n)'s sudden statement? Thinking back on it, no. But she was still shocked that Kaito had said something so mean and yet (Y/n) seemed unphased by it. Even more so, he was thinking about her. At least, that's what she thought when she looked down to see (Y/n)'s arm instinctively pressed out in front of her.

(Y/n): "You remember the plan, right?"

Uraraka: "W-What?"

(Y/n): "You go for the weapon."[Turns to Kaito] "I'll take care of him. After all, that's what you want, right?!"

A simple click of the top of his mouth was all that came from Kaito as (Y/n) yelledout to him. But that smirk didn't remain for long before narrowed glare dawned the bully's face. (Y/n) just turned back to Uraraka.

(Y/n): "Think you can handle Iida?"

Uraraka: "Well, yeah! But I already told you, I'm not just leaving you! I want to stay and fight!"

(Y/n): "And I told you what Kaito is like. Uraraka, please, trust me on this."

(Y/n) seemed so desperate in his attempt to prove his point to Uraraka that he unconsciously grasped the girl's shoulders in the process. Something Uraraka did not miss. However, after noticing the way(Y/n) held her, her gaze slowly lifted to see his face was a mere meter away from her own. Giving her a perfect look at the haunting mask in front of her. Yet, despite its nightmarish tendencies, Uraraka wasn't afraid. Instead, she seemed to sense the concerned look behind the pieces of fabric.

(Y/n): "Please, I don't want to see you get hurt, alright? Just go get the weapon and win this for us, alright?"

It was the sense of concern that Urarakasilently mumbled her reply.

Uraraka: "O-Okay."

No response came from (Y/n), however. Instead, with a sigh, he let go of Uraraka's shoulders and slowly turned around to face Kaito once more. As for Uraraka, she twisted her body in the opposite direction and began to walk off. Meanwhile, achuckle echoed from Kaito.

Kaito: "Smart move, Deku. Better get rid of the loose weight now. After all, I wouldn't want anything to get in the way of me proving to everyone watching on those cameras that I have no rival. Especially not you."

A quick glance toward one of the aforementioned camera's positioned on a nearby wall was all that took place before (Y/n) turned back to Kaito and replied.

(Y/n): "Yeah, well, I'll be sure to end this quickly for your sake. Besides, you don't have a rival. I mean, no one around here seems to suck as much as you, so I don't know what you're talking about."

Kaito: [Growls] "Watch your mouth, Deku! Before I squash it!"

The voice of Kaito was so loud that it managed to echo down the hall where Uraraka continued to keep her head low as she walked away. She knew (Y/n) was going to fight Kaito alone, and she hated herself for listening to him. This was hermoment to prove herself to (Y/n). That she could be cool and heroic enough to become his friend. Yet, now she was just going to leave him to fight alone?Was... Was she really going to do that? A few seconds passed by before she realized. No. She wasn't going to just leave.

Immediately her feet came to a stop as a determined look spawned across her face. Turning her head, she saw (Y/n) and Kaito were still exchanging vocal jabs. The more she watched. The more she realized she couldn't just leave him. That was the exact opposite of what a friend would do when a friend needed them most. That's why, in this moment, Uraraka decided to do the most dangerous thing any sane person could do. She started to think 'What would Bakugo do?'. It was that one thought that filled her mind as the rage in Kaito only continued to grow.

Kaito: "You've always thought you were top shit despite how pathetic you really are! You were pathetic in junior high! And you're just as pathetic now! I'm gonna enjoy showing everyone your true colours!"

(Y/n): "Then why don't you quit talking so we can--"

"AAARRRGGGHHH!!!"

Immediately (Y/n)'s gaze lifted as soon as his sentence was cut off. His eyes on his mask widening in shock when he saw Uraraka come flying over the top of his head with her arm pulled back ready for a punch.

Uraraka: "You wanna fight, (Y/n), nerd?! Well, you'll have to fight me too! Ya big nerd!" [Thoughts] "That's what Bakugo would say, right?"

But as Uraraka thought over this, her guard was let down, enough so that Kaito was given enough time to notice theoncoming attack. However, unlikeUraraka, Kaito did not hesitate one bit. Uraraka was suddenly brought to the situation when she lifted her gaze to see a fireball coming directly for her. Immediately the imitation of Bakugo dropped, in its place, a look of complete fear dawned as she clenched her eyes and went to cover her face.

(Y/n): "URARAKA!"

Uraraka: "No!"

The word came loud, and the word came fast. Time seemed to edge on forever as Uraraka prepared herself for the attack. But it never came. And when she realized such, Uraraka slowly opened her eyes. As she did, she was greeted by a sight that she was not expecting. No longer was she flying through the air, instead, she was perfectly embraced by a set of arms that protected her entire body.

The firm grip the appendages gave to keep her close brought a sense of comfort she had never felt before. And the steady heartbeat her ears managed to pick up made her feel as ease. She couldn't help but smile softly to herself as she enjoyed the warm feeling that surrounded her. That's when she realized what was going on. Immediately her eyes snapped open and lifted to see (Y/n) was the one holding her. But not only that, he was protecting her from Kaito's attack.

Uraraka was reminded of such when she saw the sudden pain fill the eyes of (Y/n)'s mask.Seconds later, time picked up, and the pair were thrown backward from the powerful strike. A loud thud echoed seconds later as (Y/n)'s body violently collided with the ground. Yet, even with the pain that surely surged through his body, he never once loosened his grip on Uraraka. Eventually, the pair came to a stop. Only then did (Y/n) let go of Uraraka and roll off her body to release a pain-filled groan.

But even so, (Y/n) did not let the pain hold him back. The sight of the young boy finding his way to his feet could be seen filling the background as Uraraka's eyes slowly begin to open. Blurred vision is what she's immediately greeted by as she stares up at the roof momentarily, though her gaze is directed elsewhere she when notices a green wall move passed her. But it isn't long before she realizes that it isn't a green wall. But (Y/n), himself hobbling to defend both himself, and Uraraka, was Kaito.

Uraraka: "(Y-Y/n)?"

She grumbled as she spun her body around. The sound of the male's heavy panting was all that pre-warned Uraraka before her gaze landed on the large burn mark that covered the back of (Y/n)'s suit.

Uraraka: [Gasp] "(Y/n)! Your back!"

(Y/n): [Groans] "I...I'm fine. Just..." [Groans] "...Just go get the weapon."

Uraraka: "What? I can't just leave you! I-Ihave to stay and--"

(Y/n): "No!"

Nothing could have prepared Uraraka for the sudden snap. But it seemed to be only the start as a frustrated (Y/n) spun around to her.

(Y/n): "No! I don't want you to stay! I don't want your help! Alright?! I don't want anyone's help! Just stay out of my way! Stay out of my life! Okay?! Just leave me alone and go get that damn weapon!"

The anger in (Y/n)'s words was enough to make Uraraka flinch in place. She had never been yelled at in such a way. It left her speechless. And the same could be said for All Might and the other students watching from the monitor rooms. As for Uraraka, she didn't know what to think at the time. All she could do was stare as (Y/n)'s nightmarish costume glared at her. Now, it wasn't like there wasn't anything she didn't want to say.

She wanted to keep trying, to insist that she stay, so she can show (Y/n) that she could be cool enough to be his friend. But now she started to realize that maybe shewas just getting in his way. After all, who is she to force someone to be friends with her if they didn't want to be friends in the first place? The heavy feeling that quickly filled her chest as she slowly rose to her feet enough to weigh her down momentarily.

For a moment Uraraka thought whether or not she should say something. At least apologize. In the end, she remained quiet and simply walked off. As for (Y/n), his heavy breathing continued as he struggled through the pain. It was about after ten seconds or so that (Y/n) realized his sudden outburst. And just as quickly he felt the regret flood his system. But before he could state anything to Uraraka, his focus was immediately drawn away by the voice of Kaito.

Kaito: [Cackles] "Why am I not surprised? Deku turning more people away, and in such a shitty way too? Ha! Good riddance."

Without muttering a word (Y/n) turns around. Instantly losing the regret and dawning another narrowed glare.

Kaito: "Though, maybe it's best that she leaves now? I mean, she'd only get in the way. And you'd just be left to protect her. Which--" [Chuckles] "--Is kinda funny when you think about the track record you have with protecting people~"

Kaito didn't need to say names for (Y/n) to understand what he was talking about, and (Y/n) didn't need to reply for Kaito to understand the emotions he got out of the boy upon speaking such. The sudden clenched fist from (Y/n) was enough proof that the young boy was riled up.

Kaito: "Face it, Deku! You've lost your partner. You've lost your brother. Heck, you even lost your childhood crush."Another chuckle sounded as (Y/n)'s anger picked up.

Kaito: "Ha! Man! She was nice for a childhood crush. But at the end of the day, she was pretty boring. Though, Yaoyorozu seems pretty hot." [Grins] "So it should be fun to see yet another thing taken from you."

Sparks of green and black chaotic energy formed to life around (Y/n)'s fist.

Kaito: "And then, in the end, everyone will come to see just how much of a freak you really are. And they'll know you're not better than me. You never were! YOU WERE NEVER MY RIV--"

(Y/n): "I DON'T GIVE A FUCK!"

The sudden outburst, charged by a vicious scream following it was all the warning Kaito was given. His smirk quickly dropping to a look of confusion as within seconds (Y/n) went from standing 20 meters away to being right in front of him. The last thing Kaito saw was the enclosed fist of the monster standing across from him. The sparks of chaotic energy narrowed in on him. As (Y/n)'s anger was unleashed. It was clear, right now and then, that this was no simple fight. At the end of the day, it'd take both to give all they've got. But only one could stand tall when things were said and done.

[There we go, another chapter done. I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to get this out due to Wattpad playing up and not saving the story properly. But things seemed to be fixed now which is great. Anyway, I originally planned to have the whole fight be in this chapter. But this book is already near 10k words and I don't wanna over push it. The fight will continue in next week's chapter mixed with some other stuff. But, yeah, I hope you all ended up enjoying today's chapter, if you did, feel free to leave a vote and I'll be sure to get another chapter out next week for you all!]
