Earth Time: 7/21/1918

Time: 2:19 P.M

When the world leaders learned of the Fall of Fort Faunus and were in the middle of signing two new members of the UMDW, they decided to create an operation. An operation to knock out the weakest of the Aeromist. This was an operation that required hundreds of thousands of troops, this was the start of Operation Typhoon.

But which two countries were being signed into the UMDW? The Republic of China (ROC), and the Japanese Empire. Both nations deciding to join for all the benefits. And who would be commanding such an operation? Well...

Fort Pathfinder

Around the table sat the famous generals and field marshals of Earth such as, Field Marshal Paul Von, Hindenburg, Major General John J Pershing, Brigadier General Douglas MacArthur, General Ferdinand Foch, and the acting Supreme Commander of the operation, Field Marshal Douglas Haig, including other generals from the other nations planning the invasion.

Haig: Listen MacArthur, I understand your plan.

MacArthur: Exactly, which is why I suggest we invade from the sea, landing on the shores.

Hindenburg: Ja zat is a gut idea, but we have no clue on ze defenses.

Pershing: Then what about landing at Argus?

Foch: Argus? The city where the war started?

Pershing: Exactly, if we land there, we can take down an Atlas base and gain a footing in Mistral.

Haig: That is true, but they still have that massive machine there, not to mention the number of casualties that this operation can cause.

Hindenburg: Ja, but if it vorks, ve can knock out eins enemy.

MacArthur: So, let's land in Argus!

Haig: You and Pershing will, but that will be one main force, we will land forces all across Mistral.

MacArthur: Alright then.

Everyone the understood Haig and kept listening with a few questions.

Foch: What about POWs?

Haig: Give them any chance to give up, kill if they fight back. We need intel on Atlas.

Hindenburg: Ja, zat makes sense.

The generals then glanced down at the map that decided where forces could land.

Haig: Austro-Hungarians are to focus on the island chain down below.

The Austro-Hungarian general nodded and started to think of a plan for them.

Haig: The Germans are to focus on that small ocean pocket while the Italians take care of the most southern part of Mistral.

Hindenburg: I understand.

Italian General: You got it.

Haig: The Bulgarians are to focus on the most eastern side while the French and Ottoman are to choke the enemy forces into the seen chokepoint between the ocean pocket and lake.

All three general gave a nod, understanding their assignments, given by the commander.

Haig: General Pershing and MacArthur will have their forces land at Argus and capture the snowy terrain.

Pershing: You got it commander.

MacArthur: Mmph.

Haig: My forces and other colonies and dominions will all land at the Capital of Mistral.

Foch: Is that all taken care of now?

Haig: Yes, I suggest you all take your time to plan this out as communications will be difficult. Remember this operation will begin on October 1st for the factories to produce our equipment, and good luck planning gentlemen.

All the generals then left the planning room to plan their landing forces.

American Planning Room

Pershing: So, as my marines land at Argus your army units will take the rest of the snow areas and we will pinch them into Argus and go for the kill.

MacArthur: That seems like the best choice.

Pershing: Remember all divisions are to surround and kill off any resistance from Atlas or Mistral.

MacArthur: Of course, Colonel Patton will assist with the armor.

Pershing: Sounds like a great idea.

The two generals then glanced down at the map.

MacArthur: So, my division is to clear out the side base?

Pershing: Yes, your division and the 82nd Division will clear out that base, we need as much firepower as possible. So, grab the equipment in the base and help whenever you can. But considering it seems to be a massive base, you can't help us.

MacArthur: And your marines?

Pershing: My marines will create enough openings for the 1st Division and the 369th Regiment to enter without much problem, but still be able to engage the enemy later on.

MacArthur: That is a good idea...

Pershing: Yes, the 82nd Division is also assisting the British Forces once they break through the line.

MacArthur: To secure a defensive line in case any enemy forces try to escape?

Pershing: Correct.

British Planning Room

Haig: Hm, Montgomery.

Lieutenant Colonel Bernard Montgomery was standing next to his commanding officer.

Montgomery: Yes sir?

Haig: You are to command our British Raj Forces.

Montgomery: What about the ANZACs?

Haig: I am assigning Colonel Lawrence to the ANZACs.

Lawrence: It is an honor sir.

Haig: Good, I will be commanding our main and Canadian forces.

The two colonels nodded.

The 3 commanding officers looked down at the map with Haig pointing at the specific spots.

Haig: The British Raj is to land down south while the ANZAC's approach at the eastern islands and secure them. Once the ANZAC's secured it, all remaining forces are to assist with the battle of the capital.

Montgomery: And you commander?

Haig: My British Forces and Canadian Forces will land on this Wind Path and move down from the north.

Lawrence: So, the American's will defend this Wind Path then?

Haig: Correct.

Haig: And remember, the enemy will have air support on standby, which is why our Commander-in-Chief's are sending every plane, every bomber we have to finish this fight.

Lawrence: Airships?

Haig: 2, one supporting us, and one supporting Montgomery.

Lawrence: Any support for the ANZAC's?

Haig: A dreadnought will be destroying the main defenses, then your forces will invade the islands and mainland.

Lawrence: Understood.

Montgomery: Well then, let's get our forces ready.

Haig: Hm, we shall. But I will be off to check Research and Development, we need the vehicles ready.

Lawrence: Of course.

Fort Pathfinder, R&D Department

Haig walked into the department to see multiple blueprints and models on the tables and walls.

Haig: Evening gentlemen.

R&D Scientist 1: Commander Haig!

Haig: Do we have the transports planned out?

R&D Scientist 2: Yes sir, which vould you like to see first? Ze troop transport and tank?

Haig: Troop first, we can't put armor if we don't have a place for our troops, no point for armor.

R&D Scientist 1: Of course, so I would like to introduce the LCVP or the Higgins boat, able to hold 36 troops, or load up to 8 tons.

The scientists showed Haig the blueprint and model they had on the table. Haig inspected it thinking of the possible scenarios that could happen with the boat.

Haig: Hm... approved, this boat could help with swarm tactics and various problems with landings and transport.

R&D Scientist 3: Thank you sir, now we would like to introduce the LST or Landing ship, tank.

Haig walked over to the massive blueprint on the wall inspecting how many tanks it could hold.

Haig: How many tanks can it hold?

R&D Scientist 4: 20 to 30 Medium tanks or 4-8 Heavy tanks.

Haig: Good, those Atlas machines will be a real pain in the arse. With friendly armor, it won't be much of an issue.

R&D Scientist 2: Ja, of course, commander.

Haig: Do you have any other vehicle or weapons to present?

R&D Scientist 1: We have two new rifles in the works including a new plane.

Haig: A plane?

R&D Scientist 2: Ja, vith ze information on how Bullheads fly ve were able to make a new... fighter plane.

Haig: Interesting, show me the weapons first.

R&D Scientist 3: Of course, commander, we would like to introduce the Gewehr 43 and the M1 Garand.

Haig: Thye look like standard rifles? What is so different?

R&D Scientist 1: That would be the bolt sir.

Haig: The bolt?

R&D Scientist 2: You see ze difference is zat you had to manually operate a bolt to chamber the next round for our current rifles.

Haig: Yes?

R&D Scientist 2: The difference is that you don't have to manually operate the bolt.

Haig: Explain please.

R&D Scientist 1: Of course, you see the rifles have a gas port located near the muzzle of the barrel. When a round is fired, a portion of the propellant gases is redirected through the gas port into a gas cylinder located under the barrel.

Haig: Go on.

R&D Scientist 1: The gas pressure from the redirected gases pushes a piston located in the gas cylinder. The piston is connected to an operating rod that runs parallel to the barrel. As the operating rod moves backward due to the gas pressure, it rotates and unlocks the bolt from the receiver. This allows the spent cartridge case to be extracted from the chamber.

Haig: Interesting, keep going please.

R&D Scientist 2: Right, so the operating rod continues its rearward travel, extracting the spent cartridge case and pulling it back. At the same time, a new round is stripped from the internal magazine and pushed up into the chamber. As the operating rod reaches its rearward travel, it is pushed forward again by a spring. This returns the operating rod to its forward position and locks the bolt back into the receiver, ready to fire the next round.

Haig: Hm.

R&D Scientist 2: Each time ze trigger is pulled, ze firing sequence is initiated, and ze cycle of extracting, ejecting, reloading, and returning to battery occurs automatically without ze need for ze user to manually manipulate ze bolt.

Haig: This is great! This could allow our soldiers to be more effective in combat! Now then, what is this need fighter plane you are talking about?

R&D Scientist 4: We are making the Messerschmitt Me 262.

Haig: Messerschmitt Me 262?

R&D Scientist 1: Yes, you see the Messerschmitt Me 262 will be using the same engines as Bullheads, but we will be using our world's fuel which will 99% boost the speed of the plane.

Haig: But why only two wings?

R&D Scientist 2: With ze speed of the plane, multiple wings might not be a good idea, as you can see. The extra wings could hinder movement for aerodynamics and mess with the stability and control.

Haig: Hm, I guess you have a point.

Haig then shifted the focus to production.

Haig: I want these the weapons and ships to go into mass production but keep working on the plane as it needs a few tests. We'll be replacing our current rifles with these ones.

R&D Scientist 4: Yes sir.

Haig: Good, have the weapons and vehicles ready before October as that is when the operation starts. And remember, they better work.

R&D Scientists: Yes commander.

Haig: Good, have a prototype of the Messerschmitt released so our pilots can start practicing.

R&D Scientist 2: Jawohl commander.

Haig: Good. Have a nice day gentlemen.

Haig walked out of the room, but what no one realized was that someone was inside the room.

Emerald Sustrai using her Semblance to disguise herself in the room as a scientist.

R&D Scientist 4: Come on people, back to work we need to finalize the designs and send it to production.

All the scientists scattered as Emerald left the room and quickly ran back to the dorms.

Emerald: I got it Cinder.

Cinder: Good, we need to send it to Atlas and Mistral now. Then the Atlas forces in Mistral will double.

Emerald: Of course, Cinder.

Cinder: With this, we will make both militaries go into disarray.

Cinder had a laugh not realizing how much this was going to backfire.

And that's the end of Chapter 10. Chapter 11 will most likely be the final preparation with the landings in Chapter 13, but I don't know yet. Anyways, always remember!

LONG LIVE THE MOTHERLAND!
