Rin gave Y/N a blank stare as she continued to focus on her last shot. However, fate wasn't on her side. The dart flew away from the bullseye and landed on the most outer ring of the board.
Dramatically holding both her hands to her head, she let out a silent scream and dropped down to her knees while a sweat rolled down Rin's forehead.
"Why am I so bad at these aiming games..."
Sighing, Rin cleared the dart board and gave another shot, his dart landing clean and firm on a triple 20. He could see Y/N visibly deflating after looking at him succeed over and over again. A small, barely visible smile made its way onto his face as the corners of his lips lifted up.
"Come on, stand up. I can teach you if you want."
A radiant smile slowly spread across Y/N's face, illuminating their eyes with a newfound spark. Her happiness was palpable, radiating outwards and uplifting the atmosphere around her. It was as if a ray of sunlight had broken through the clouds, bathing everything in a warm, golden glow. Even Rin had to blink a couple times to make sure he was blinded by her brightness.
As Y/N stood in front of the dartboard, her heart raced with a mix of nervousness and excitement. Rin, standing close by, offered gentle guidance, his presence sending an electric current through the air that made both of their hearts flutter. Y/N could feel the warmth of Rin's proximity, causing a delicate blush to grace her cheeks.
With patience and care, Rin positioned Y/N's hand, his fingers gently guiding the dart. Y/N's breath hitched at the close proximity, feeling a magnetic pull between them. The sound of their combined breaths created a harmonious rhythm, intertwining their spirits in that fleeting moment. Rin's voice was a soothing melody, his instructions delivered with a reassuring confidence that instilled Y/N with a newfound belief in her abilities.
As Y/N prepared to release the dart, time seemed to slow down. Rin's small, encouraging smile melted away any remaining doubt, filling her with a surge of determination. The dart left her fingers, soaring through the air with precision and grace. It landed near the bullseye, much to their surprise and elation.
A surge of happiness flooded Y/N's being, her heart soaring with pride. She turned to Rin, her eyes shining with joy and gratitude. Rin's expression was one of genuine pride and admiration, a testament to his belief in Y/N's abilities. Y/N's happiness was contagious, her smile lighting up the room. Rin couldn't help but be captivated by the radiant glow that enveloped her.
"WOAH! Didn't know you could be such an amazing teacher, Rin!"
Rin plucked the darts off the board with one hand as he turned his head to give a tiny smirk to Y/N. Slightly loosening the collar of his shirt with one hand and running the other through his hair, he asked Y/N a question, who was currently drooling shamelessly while thinking how attractive he looked at the moment.
"Are you ready for the real game now?"

"NOOOOOO HOW CAN THIS BE?"
As predicted, Rin won not only one, but all 5 matches of their dart-throwing contest. Grabbing both of their belongings from their lockers, he gave her a deadpanned stare while she had tears brimming at the corner of her eyes.
"Did you really think you could win..."

"Alright! Since I already chose the first activity for our date, it's your turn to pick what to do next."
Contemplating on it for a while, Rin observed how Y/N's expression slowly morphed from a look of pure excitement and anticipation into a look of horror.
"How about we play soccer one-on-one?"
Her eyes widened in sheer disbelief, her mouth agape, as the shocking question sent tremors of disbelief coursing through her entire being.
"I-I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you clea-"
"Play soccer with me."
He interrupted her sentence while he dragged her to the nearest soccer field the area by grabbing her forearm. With a timid smile on her face, Y/N mustered the courage to slowly adjust his grip on her forearm, both of their hands coming into contact with each other.
'SHIT IS HE UNCOMFORTABLE RIGHT NOW? STUPID Y/N! WHY DID YOU DO THAT? HE'S PROBABLY DISGUSTED AND JUDGING ME RIGHT NOW-'
Y/N's brain stopped functioning and short-circuited the moment Rin gently intertwined their fingers and pulled her closer towards him as another couple strolled past them on the pavement, leaving them with little space between each other.
Rin turned his head away from Y/N to prevent her from seeing his flushed cheeks while she nervously started to swing their intertwined hands as they made their way into the soccer field, looking the opposite way as well.
Grabbing a random soccer ball that was left sitting near one end of the goalpost, Rin tossed it lightly over to Y/N, her eyes widening in shock as she struggled to think on how to receive it.
"I'm guessing you haven't played soccer before."
As soon as those words left his mouth, it was his turn to be surprised as he stared in astonishment at the girl skillfully juggling the filthy soccer ball with her feet and knees before proceeding to balance the ball on her forehead. Giving the ball a little boost in the air, she prepared her stance while she carefully aimed at the goalpost at the other end of the field, doing a high roundhouse kick as her right foot met with the ball in mid-air.
Turning around to be met with a Rin with wide eyes and raised eyebrows, Y/N grinned as she intertwined her own hands behind her back, not bothering to check whether she scored a goal as she was sure she did. Which she did.
"And I'm guessing you forgot I am the cousin of the egoist who made Blue Lock."
It was then, at this moment, where Rin fell deeply in love with Y/N.
(jk i mean idk and he probably has taken a liking to her but it just felt necessary to add this into the story LOL)

Rin certainly did not expect that a date could have turned out to be another soccer practice chance for him. He definitely won't admit it, but Y/N was actually quite decent in the sport, probably even better than some of the other guys back in Blue Lock. Their friendly match ended with a score of 6:4, with Rin winning the match in the end.
"I did not think I would exercise this much on a date before."
Y/N sat down on the field as she tried to catch her breath while Rin went to place the soccer ball back in its original place beside the goalpost.
"Do you want to have dinner now?"
Rin asked as he raised one hand to wipe the sweat on his forehead away while the other was extended to Y/N as he helped her get up from the ground.
"Sure, but can we just skip the fancy dinner today? I'm kinda craving some cup noodles at 7/11 right now."
Pouting while rubbing her hungry stomach, Y/N slowly led the both of them out of the field while Rin gave a little snort, amused at her antics.
"Yeah. We can leave the fancy dinner for next time."
Rin continued walking ahead in nonchalance while a blush crept up Y/N's neck and ears.
'NEXT TIME?!'

"Ah! Today was a good day!"
Y/N continued swinging their intertwined hands back and forth as the two of them continued their path home. Despite telling Rin off that she could protect herself, he still insisted that he walk Y/N home since it was quite late at night. She continued to stand by her decision but failed once she saw Rin visually deflate as he squeezed her hand a little tighter than before. They stopped at the lobby of her apartment while Rin added a comment to her previous statement.
"I had fun today as well."
A small smile appeared on Rin's face while he made eye contact with Y/N, causing the ends of her lips to be upturned too.
"Well, thanks a lot for today, Rin! Text me once you have reached home!"
Rin watched as Y/N started to walk towards the lobby but tilted his head in confusion once she stopped. Turning around to run towards the confused boy again, Y/N grabbed both collars of his white dress shirt and pulled his face down closer to hers, evening out their height.
Planting a quick kiss on one side of his cheek, Y/N turned around and ran towards the lobby of her apartment building, not sparing a second glance at Rin's reaction.
For the first time in his life as a good-looking teenager, Itoshi Rin has successfully received a kiss (not really) and could not stop zoning out on his way home, occasionally bumping into random obstacles with a lop-sided grin etched on his face.
