THROUGHOUT THE MOVIES

scenes , though she is mentioned right
before they pretty much get fired from
their job .
── their first official scene is when ray,
egon, and peter are chasing ghosts in the
hotel right before the three of them shoot
to fame with their ghostbusting service.
she meets them again at the sedgwick
hotel , doing her own ghostbusting service .
after the ghostbusters capture the ghosts is
when syd pops up from the back of the
bar .

── their own ghostbusting service is
pretty much at a halt after the ghostbusters
become famous. it actually made it more
difficult because they had more futuristic
technology. although this angers syd a little
bit, they call a truce , eventually joining the
ghostbusters a bit before winston
zeddmore does .
── the supernatural thing that dana was
talking about when she first came to the
ghostbusters, syd decided to do some
research about it. she goes back to the
university library to find anything about out about this zuul character that dana
mentioned to them before she joined them
and she finds some stuff, going back and
giving them to egon to read. this is not long
after the police brings louis, who has been
possessed by the keymaster .
── when walter peck comes back for the
second time , they hear the chaos from
upstairs . syd rushes down with janine ,
and warns them about turning the switch
off. they tell them what could happen to
the city if they turn them off. they refuse to
move from in front of the switch ,
attempting to block it. it appeared that
syd cared for the research just as much as
all the other ghostbuster did .
── after the switch was turned off , the
things that sydney-anne said were gonna
happen , happened. and they were angry.
pissed. and instead the ghostbusters are
thrown in jail for the "crime" they
committed . and syd wasn't taking it so
well due to being in confined spaces
before . she was panicking the whole time .
── they are released to the mayor , and
with the other four ghostbusters , they
explain that end badly for new york ,
explaining their findings . syd even
explains the weird layout of the apartment
building to prove that their facts were
indeed true .
── eventually the mayor releases them,
knowing that he has no choice but to let
them do their job. they arrive at the front of the building and a next thing you know , a
whole is made into the ground. syd
manages to move right before it swallows
the other ghostbusters whole. but only
because one of them pushes her away.
syd looks down to see if they're okay ,
and they eventually climb back up to the
apartment building .
── syd helps fight off gozer , but then as
the god tells them to basically choose their
doom , she clears her head like the rest of
the ghostbusters. only to find out that ray
thought of the marshmallow man.
── "the stay puft marshmallow man ...
yeah , real safe , stantz ... "
"i couldn't help it! it just popped in there ! "
"you didn't think that gozer was gonna
make it dangerous ?!"
── after that altercation is what makes
them even more determined to defeat
gozer . when egon suggest to cross streams ,
syd thinks it's insane to do that , knowing
that they could possibly lose their lives .
but it works , and they defeat gozer . they
save louis and dana , and the town is saved.
✦ ghostbusters two
── after the incident , the ghostbusters are
sued and they eventually lose the business.
sydney-anne goes back to her job at the
university, teaching students full time while
helping egon in the laboratory with his
experiments on human emotion . while
they're doing this , dana barrett eventually
asks them to investigate what happened
with her baby's carriage. they agree to do
so, and investigate with ray .
── they're on the occult bookstore that ray
works at . they promise not to tell venkman
about the investigation. venkman arrives, him and egon slightly catch up.
── "hi egon, how's school? bet those
science chicks really dig that large cranium
of yours , huh ?"
"i think they're more interested in my
epididymis."
── ray responds with, "there's at least one
who probably dig your smarts." before he
looks at sydney-anne, who's head is
practically buried in a book before she
feels the guys staring at her. she scrunches
her nose at the sight of venkman .
── "ew , it's you."
"ah, yes, the martian. what's she doin'
here?"
"doing something productive. unlike you."
── venkman eventually gets it out of ray
that their helping dana with their issue.
syd closes their book, looking at ray. she
knows it's not ray's fault that venkman
tortured him into telling him who the
client was.
── "nice going, ray ..."
"he tortured me!"
"you gotta be strong, man!"
── they all investigate dana's house ,
resulting in nothing. but the four
find activity where the carriage had been
rolled out and they find something , which
leads to later at night , when the four
illegally dig a whole through the spot that
the slime does. they discover that's there
is a whole city has slime under it. they
end up getting arrested after ray
accidentally starts a state wide power
outage.
── they are on trial for the damage that
they cause throughout the city. they go
through the trial , but as it's about to end
and the judge is going to give them their
sentence , syd noticed the reaction that
the pink slime that was held as evidence
was reacting. she knows that the other
notice as well. but she mouths to them
to let it react . this caused an uproar in
the room , scaring the people in it . the
four grab their proton packs , save the
courtroom. they are officially back in
business .
── when the pink slime invades dana's
place , they investigate further into the
pink slime. ray, egon, and syd eventually
figure out the bad human emotions was
what made the pink slime react.
── "you know we sing to it, talk to it ..."
"are you sleeping with it, ray?"
"oh , egon , seriously? was it ... it
wasn't better than me , was it?"
"that's what your concerned about?"
── while peter is on his dinner date with
dana, syd, egon, ray, and winston go
underground after their breakthrough.
the eventually find the pink slime river ,
all of them get pulled into the river not
long after winston tried to measure
the depth of and all of them ended up in
pink slime river trying to help him. they
eventually get out of the slime and get
out of the sewer system. egon and syd
figure out that the slime influenced their
behavior , and the take off their jumpsuits.
they also find out that it leads to the
museum of the creepy painting from
before.
── after telling venkman what's
happening with the pink slime , they go
to the mayor once again . he ignores their
pleas after the last time they saved the
town. the ghostbusters threaten to give it
to the press, and this leads them to being
committed to an asylum for a moment in
time . syd is practically cowering in the corner and sobbing because of this. egon
notices the distress she's in.
── "let her out."
"i don't think that's a good─"
"let. her. out."
── syd is let out a bit before the rest of
the ghostbusters. they are dismissed after
the mayor commands his right hand man
to let them out , before firing him . they are
let out , syd is by the door , sniffling .
── "don't ask. i'm fine."
"i've been studying human emotion enough
to know you're not fine."
"i'm not one of your test subjects, e ..."
── the head toward the museum after
they're let out. dana's son is kidnapped and
by the time they get there, the whole place
is filled with pink slime . they try to shoot
through it , but it's too strong simply
because the people are in distress. egon
suggests they need a symbol resulting them
going to the statue of liberty. they spray it
with positively charged slime, and they
control the statue to make its way toward
the museum. they get into the museum by
going through the roof.
── they shoot the positively charged slime
at janosz but vigo unfortunately they are
stunned by vigo, who is attempting to
transfer into oscar's body. they hear the
people of the city singing "auld lang syne"
for the new year.
── "we should sing with them!"
"absolutely not."
"you're no fun, egon."
── when louis shoots the weakened slime
outside of the museum, it defeats vigo and
it breaks the pink slime that was covering
the museum. the ghostbusters are
eventually given the key to the city. it's a
happy ending.
BACKSTORY
✦ sydney-anne stevens was born in new
york city to two very strict parents. they
pretty much cared more about her
education and her intelligence since they
want them to get into a good college and
get into a good education. they were more
interest in that rather than her making any
friends , so most of her elementary school
years , she was alone. in about forth grade
she has only made one friend at the time
since no one wanted to be friends with
her. but she mostly focused on her studies.
she was a straight a student and even did
extra credit for fun. and even then there
was a lot of competition. though she had
competition with only one kid. egon
spengler.
✦ In middle and high school, though,
syd started to realize things about
themself. mainly their gender identity. they
felt like they were necessarily a boy nor
a girl. she tells her parents this, thinking
that they'll take it well enough, and they
are not happy with it at all. they tell her
that she should focus on her studies and
not worrying about her gender identity.
this made her feel really bad, and she
didn't tell anyone else other than egon,
who was pretty much the only person in
school that respected their pronouns at
the time. her parents also told her that
liking girls were unacceptable. it isn't
the first time she would hear that about
her sexuality and her identity.
✦ in high school, her interest toward
parapsychology and the supernatural had
really grew. her parents were ecstatic
about the parapsychology interest. the
supernatural however was something they
couldn't wrap their head around. but
syd enjoyed it a whole lot, learning the
study of telepathy and hypnosis and how
it connected with with the supernatural.
but her parents only saw that as a past-
time, and they accepted it for a while.
until something big happened.
✦ syd claims that she saw a ghost. but
they weren't claims. she actually did see
a ghost while on her college tour. she was
real happy about it and told her parents
about it. they were pretty angered by this.
she has an argument with her parents, and
it turned into a real bad one. they take syd
to an asylum to get checked out. and her
experiences there were far from good. she
couldn't eat, she couldn't sleep. she
developed her derealization disorder and
her anxiety disorder because of it. and she
was now afraid to go in confined spaces.
she hasn't been the ever since.
✦ but she worked hard. really hard. got her
PhD in parapsychology. she teaches around
schools, gives out lectures. she even worked
as an actual parapsychology for a while.
and then she secured a position at
columbia university as a professor in
introduction to parapsychology. this is
how she reunited with her close and only
friend, egon. syd even had her own
business in ghostbusting, but due to
egon, ray, and peter doing a better job at
it and having more modernistic equipment,
she joins them in their business part time
while teaching. she's been content ever
since.

BACKGROUND

grade. they actually met on the playground
when egon was collecting mushrooms.
syd asks to join him in doing so. he agreed,
and pretty much stayed inseparable ever
sense. syd was always competitive, and
never really knew how smart egon was
until she won second place in the science
fair several times to egon. this was when
she became determined to do better than
him.
✦ but they did projects together. it was
light competition between them. but as
the pressure of her parents kept building
up, she wanted to win at least one science
fair. it hasn't happened. but egon always
brought out the best of her, even if he
technically wasn't trying to do so at all.
✦ they were really close by the time they
became teenagers. a lot of people always
mistook them as a couple, although that
wasn't the case, syd really couldn't deny
that they were beginning to crush on egon
a little bit. they spent a lot of time with
each other in the libraries while other
people mingled and did normal highschool
things. he even became protective of her,
especially after her parents put her in the
asylum.

started working together at columbia
