Mihir reached the room that Raaghav was in and knocked on the doors.
The doors opened quickly.
Mihir was shocked when he looked at Raaghav all dressed up in the groom's attire.
" Tu yeh kyu phehna huwa hai! Chal kya raha hai sale! "Mihir blurted out in shock.
" Andar aah pehle! ", saying this Raaghav pulled Mihir inside.
" Bata ab! "
" Shadi kar raha hu! " Raaghav made a statement.
" Tu kya?! Ha.. Kya? Shaadi! Tu.. Kaise... Yeh kab huwa.. Tu majak.. Nahi nahi.. " Mihir was shocked would be an understatement.
Not so many days ago, was not this same Raaghav telling him how unfit he was for marriages and now this..
What all is happening! Mihir was confused.
" Chup chap sun! " Raaghav stated.
Mihir just moved his head and got himself seated on the seat nearby.
"Yeh shaadi Rutvendra ki thi, but he backed out on the very last moment. So.. "
" Tu koi replacement nahi hai Raaghav! What nonsense is this! Usne shaadi karne se mana kiya toh tu kyu ha? " Mihir sounded angry. Damn! He couldn't take his best friend as someone's replacement.
" Tuje lagta hai mei itna dayawaan ya phir bade dil wala types insaan hu, jo kisi ki galti sudharne ke liye apni kurbaani dunga? " Raaghav asked raising his eyebrows.
Mihir very well knew his best friend.
" Kaise? Aur kyu?", all of Mihir's naughtiness was gone. He was serious now. Raaghav narrated him everything, including the incident between Vaidehi and Rutvendra, about him asking for rights over the palace and orphanage. He told Mihir everything.
At first Mihir was deceptive about things, but looking at the fact that his best friend needed him more, he focused on the present.
" Woh chod! Aur yeh bata ki ab mei kya karu? " Raaghav asked being tensed.
" Kya karu matlab kya hota hai! Shaadi kar raha hai toh woh nibah! Aur kya karega! " Mihir said.
" Tu samaj nahi raha hai! It's just that.. I am.. Kaise batau ab mei tujhe! "Raaghav couldn't find the appropriate words.
" Ek... Ekk second, tu.. You.. You are nervous right. " Mihir said with a slight chuckle, after all it was fun to watch the man who mostly had stoic face show some emotions.
" Aisa kuch nahi hai! ".
" Toh phir.. You are feeling the wedding jitters bro! " Mihir said.
" Huh? " Raaghav asked raising his eyebrows.
" Shadi ke pehle ki bechani! Woh kaisi hogi, use kya pasand hoga, kya woh mhuje pyaar degi, kya mei usse pyaar de paunga wale thoughts aah rahe hai na tujhe! "Mihir said.
Raaghav could relate.
On seeing Raaghav not speak anything, Mihir further continued.
"Kahi tuje performance pressure toh nahi ho raha na? "
" Performance pressure? "Raaghav asked coming out of his thoughts.
" Suhaagraat...you know! "Mihir took his own sweet time in saying that.
The fact was, Mihir could sense something was wrong in all this, that his best friend was stressed and he just wanted to lighten the mood around.
" What nonsense! "Raaghav shouted and threw a pillow on Mihir.
Raaghav got up and walked around.
"Mei toh usse janta tak nahi! Yaar puri zindagi bitane ka faisla le liya, jabki janta hu, she is forced into all this! What if usse rishta nahi chahiye hoga toh, what if mei nahi nibha paya toh yeh rishta. I just can't think of.. " Raaghav blabbered.
" Raaghav ..Raaghav.... Shant ho ja! Yaar, janta nahi hai toh jaan lega na! Aur phir kisi bhi rishte mei agar do log efforts dale toh woh easily nibhaya ja sakta hai! "
Just then, something hit Mihir like a bullet train, " Ek ek second! Yaha sirf ek hi shaadi hone wali thi?"
Hearing this question out of blue, Raaghav just hummed.
" As in yaha jis ladki ki shaadi hone wali thi, usse ab teri shadi hogi! As in woh jo.. "
" All this makes up to that only I guess! " Raaghav spoke stopping Mihir's talk.
" Oh.. Oh my god! Matlab.. Like really! " Mihir shouted, he was surprised, shocked and happy all at the same time.
" Kya ho gaya ab tujhe! " Raaghav again said emotionlessly.
Mihir composed himself down and held Raaghav hand walking him to the bed, they both sat.
" Raaghav! I told you na, rishta do taraf se equal efforts se banta hai! "
" Hmm"
" Promise me! You'll never give up on this new relationship of yours. Raaghav, that girl, she is the serenity that your choas needs.She is the solace that your heart needs. Bhai! She deserves the whole world.
Usne kabhi bataya nahi, par I can see it she has already been through a lot. I know tere liye yeh naya hoga sab kuch, par uske liye bhi yeh ek naya safar hi hoga! Promise me you'll be just beside her, all throughout. Promise me! You'll fight for her, at times even with her, cause jitna mei janta hu, woh khud ke care- ware kuch karti nahi hai! "
"Huh? "
" Promise kar?! "
Raaghav was confused with this changed demeanor of his best friend. One thing that confused him the most was, how come his best friend knows about the girl, about whom even he didn't have any idea about.
" Promise! " Raaghav said, there was sincerity laced in his voice.
" Pata hai, mhuje usse yeh sab kehne ki jaroorat hi nahi padhegi! Cause I know woh over time, tume khud se jyaada important bana hi legi apne liye! "
" Huh.. Tu itna sure kaise..
" Raaghav, mere bhai! " Saying this Mihir hugged him.
" You deserved her mere bhai. I know this is so strange, but when they say that universe has its own ways, they are probably right. Agar tere liye usse acha koi rishta nahi ho sakta, toh she too can never get anyone like you! Or rather I should say she needs you only my friend. Shayad shivji bhi yehi chahte hai isliye toh itna tedha medha rasta apna kar bhi, tum dono ko sath la hi diya! " Mihir said.
He knew somewhere he himself was not making sense, but he was so overwhelmed with the news that he could hardly contain himself.
" I know she is the one for you just as I know the fact that you are the one for her! Together you both will heal each other, complete each other. " Mihir said his eyes softening.
" I don't know about that but agar Tu itna keh hi raha hai, toh I know one thing for sure, mei yeh rishta pure dil se nibhawunga! "Raaghav stated with certainity.
After few moments Raaghav asked, " Par tu usse kaise janta hai ha? "
" Woh mei..
Just then Mihir's phone rang. Checking he found that it was an important call. He told Raaghav the same and went outside to attend the call.
But before exiting the door, Mihir said, " Vaidehi! "
We that he gestured Raaghav that he'll return soon.
" Vaidehi! "
