|𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 3: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝗼 𝐘𝗼𝐮 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝗼𝗺 𝐌𝐞|

⸝⸝⸝⸝⸝

❝ Your scent is quite intoxicating. ❞

⸝⸝⸝⸝⸝

Her body was limp in his hands, (Y/n)'s screams had subsided moments ago to small whimpers.

Akaza had slowed his running to a walk. The girl was slung over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, he could hear her weak sobs and frankly it annoyed the hell out of him.

The sun was about to rise, and he needed to find a place for him and the girl to stay. He figured he needed to find a place more well-hidden considering (Y/n)'s leg was still bleeding.

What the demon said was right, she was a marechi. meaning having her fragile body around would make it harder to keep her out of danger long enough until she told him where the spider lily was.

what a pain. The demon thought.

"Please," (Y/n) faintly whispered. "Just let me go." Akaza didn't say anything nor acknowledge her plea.

The sun was going to come up soon, Akaza's searching became more frantic but finally he found a cave that descended deep enough that it hid him from the sun and masked her scent well enough.

The inside of the cave was dark, and the floor was moist due to the humidity during the day. Akaza moved the girl from shoulder to the ground she groaned in pain as her foot made contact with the stone floor.

Akaza bent down, causing (Y/n) to flinch back. She tried crawling away from him, but he roughly wrapped his hand around her ankle pulling her back to him.

( Y/n) yelped in response trying to tug her ankle away, but his grip was too strong. (Y/n) did have to admit it hurt a lot but seeing the demons pricing yellow eyes made her focused more on her fear then her pain.

Upper three. She read.

He gave her a bored look before taking the hem of her pants into his hand ripping a large piece off.

"What are you doing! -" She cried.

"You're still bleeding." He swiftly wrapped it around her calf. Making eye contact with the girl as he tightly tied the fabric secure.

She shrieked at the burning she felt when he did that. Her eyes watering at the agonizing pain; she brought her hand to her mouth silencing her heavy breaths.

The demon walked away from her making himself comfortable against the cave wall. (Y/n) gave him a hateful glare carefully analyzing him.

She noticed the dark blue tattoos that covered Akaza's body, she noticed how well they complimented his skin and eyes, but she wondered if this was the demon her father spoke of.

"𝖶𝗁𝗒 𝗁𝖺𝗏𝖾𝗇𝗍 𝗒𝗈𝗎 𝗄𝗂𝗅𝗅𝖾𝖽 𝗆𝖾 𝗒𝖾𝗍." She challenged, 𝗁𝗂𝗌 𝗅𝖺𝖻𝖾𝗅𝖾𝖽 𝗒𝖾𝗅𝗅𝗈𝗐 𝖾𝗒𝖾𝗌 𝗌𝗍𝖺𝗋𝖾𝖽 𝖺𝗍 𝗁𝖾𝗋 𝖻𝗅𝗈𝗈𝖽𝗒 𝗌𝗍𝖺𝗂𝗇𝖾𝖽 𝖿𝖺𝖼𝖾 𝖿𝗈𝗋 𝖺 𝗌𝖾𝖼𝗈𝗇𝖽 𝖻𝖾𝖿𝗈𝗋𝖾 𝗁𝗂𝗌 𝗅𝗂𝗉𝗌 curled into 𝖺 𝗌𝗆𝗂𝗅𝖾 𝗍𝗁𝖺𝗍 𝗌𝖾𝗇𝗍 𝖼𝗁𝗂𝗅𝗅𝗌 𝖽𝗈𝗐𝗇 her spine.

He stepped closer to the girl, his smile not faltering. Crouching  down to her level, he roughly grabbed her jaw making (Y/n) stare at him.

     "𝖡𝖾𝖼𝖺𝗎𝗌𝖾 𝗒𝗈𝗎, 𝗆𝗒 𝖽𝖾𝖺𝗋," 𝗁𝖾 𝗌𝖺𝗂𝖽 only inches from her face. "𝖧𝖺𝗏𝖾 𝗌𝗈𝗆𝖾𝗍𝗁𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝖨 𝗐𝖺𝗇𝗍."

Her eye's widened at the familiarity in his words. This is what her father was talking about, but what did the demon want that he claimed she had?

Akaza let go moving back to his spot in the cave. (Y/n) only sat their pondering what it was he wanted and why her family had to suffer for that.

She started down at her bloody clothes remembering her mother's still body and hearing her sisters screams. Her chest tightened remembering what Takeshi had told her.

"Run- as far and as fast as you can without looking back." He depended on her, and she couldn't even save one of them. She felt so powerless, she knew her father must be so disappointed in her.

She let out a shacky breath before bringing her hands to chest grabbing the necklace Takeshi gave her. When he had given it to her it brought (Y/n) happiness but now, it was just a reminder that they were all gone.

I was met with the soft sounds of crickets buzzing throughout the forest. When I opened my eyes however, I was still in the dark cave my captor took me too.

I sensed his presence, he was in the same spot he was in earlier before I had fallen asleep. Everything from the night before came back to me and my chest tightened, but I didn't cry, I felt more numb then anything.

 A distinctive metallic smell came from my clothes along with my body. It made me sick to my stomach- it was all over me, her blood with a mix of my own.

I rolled on my back, now staring at the ceiling of the cave. glancing over to him; his eyes were closed but I could tell he was still aware of everything around him, i had a feeling he was more powerful than he let on.

Upper three. What does that mean?

"Your awake." He spoke. His eyes were now on me, the cave was dark but other than his silhouette his glowing eyes were the only thing I could see.

"Could I..." I whispered deciding if I should say or not. "Could I wash off the blood?"

He squinted at me, "No." He replied.

"Please, I just can't-"

"You humans really are weak, aren't you?" He said angerly. I didn't have anything to say back, to some extent he was right. I couldn't save any of them.

He quietly walked over to me causing me to sit up. His hand gripped my ankle once again forcing my body toward him.

"Look at what one lowly demon did to your weak flesh." he pointed out. I hissed in pain at the fast movement.

"I didn't ask to be bit!" I shouted back biting my lip from the stinging. "I didn't ask to be taken by you either!"

He let go of me, straightening out before he took me up in his arms again. He walked us to the entrance of the cave before he swiftly moved us through the forest.

He's fast. I thought to myself, looking at my surroundings I could hardly make out anything, the scenery blurred together with the speed he reached.

When he stopped the scent of water filled my nose, he took me to a pond. His grip loosened setting me down, he kept one arm around my back helping me to the water Before he let me go.

"Hurry up, human." He sounded so hateful, almost annoyed. I didn't understand what the point of keeping me alive was, I understand he needs something from me but what? why hasn't he told me?

In a blink of an eye he was gone, leaving me alone. I assumed it was for my own privacy, which i was grateful for.

I dipped my hands in the water bring it up to my face, the coolness of it felt good against my stained skin. When I washed my hands the dried blood came right off, but seeing it was unsettling why was i the one so fortunate to live?

The realization hit me; he left me alone...

I could escape and he would never know, I looked down at my calf deciding if it was worth it.

He was a lot faster then I was but maybe could I make it to a near by town? Before I could think anymore of that idea I felt a presence behind me, this one was much more different then his.

"Your all alone aren't you pretty girl." Looking back I was faced with another demon, this one much more smaller then the one that killed my father.

"Your blood smells delicious." It laughed. I got to my feet, trying not to notice the agonizing pain I felt.

"Stay away." I blurted out stepping back, my foot hitting the cold water.

"Aw is she scared?" it gave me a toothy grin showing off his sharp fangs. "Don't worry I'll make it painless."

I stepped further into the water, hastily looked around the forest for the tattooed demon.

The monster in front of me let out a sinister snicker  before launching itself toward my body, I froze seeing its sharp claws come closer in my direction.

This is bad. What do I do, I can't run away.

In an instant a big splash of water erupted Infront of me blocking me from the demon. My eyes widened seeing him standing there.

Akazas hand gripped his troat. The demon squirmed in his grasp.

"What are you doing!" it shouted before its faced drained of color. "Ah- lord Akaza! Is this your prey? Im so very sorry-"

Akaza?

"You see this woman is injured, yes?" He said lowly. His grip on the demon tightened.

"Yes. Easy to catch." it said between breaths.

"Your pathetic." He laughed at him. "No wonder you demons are so weak. is going after Injured women all your good for?"

Within seconds the demons head was gone, I gasped seeing the blood pour from its neck. But The tattooed demon only let his body go limp, he brought his hand up to his lips locking the remaining blood. he turned to me, I wanted to run but I knew in the condition I was in I was better of playing the damsel until i could properly form a plan to escape.

He roughly threw me over his shoulder once again walking us out of the water. Making our way out of the pond I stared down at the demons still bleeding body.

I yelped when the demons head crawled out of the bushes. it's had grown small arms in place of its neck, something only a child would have nightmares of.

"Her blood is the purest of them all, a marechi you see!" It shouted at us. "You must understand the great power it will give you upper three!"

He kept walking not paying any mind to the demon. But what did he mean by marechi? What was so special about my blood?

~~~|ʚ❦ɞ|~~~
We made it to a small clearing in the forest, the upper three demon had a fire going. I had so many questions, but I didn't know if I could ask him, he was a demon after all could I really trust his answers?
"I wanted to thank you." I started. "For bringing me to that pond and saving me from that demon."
"I didn't do it for you." He sharply said. I went silent again glancing at him once. his eyes always caught my attention, they reminded me of stained glass with all the detail they had in them.
To be honest they were quite beautiful with the fire dancing inside his yellow irises. They captured the raw power this demon possessed.
But beside that fact I still had a deep hatred and fear towards him. "Can I ask you something?"
He only looked at me not saying anything. "Why did you take me?"
He let out an amused sigh before giving me an answer. "You were the only one that tried to put up a fight that wasn't already dead."
"My sisters werent dead." I whispered.
"Why did they have to die?" I painfully said.
"They would have gotten in the way." He droned. "Now you answer my question, human."
"Where is the blue spider lily." I stared at him confused. Something about it seemed so familiar though, as if I've heard that name before.
"The blue spider lily?" I asked.
"Tell me where it is." He demanded.
"I don't know what your talking about." I answered. His facial features contorted to that of anger and impatience, is this what Pa meant? He said I already knew but is this really it?
"Don't lie to me girl!"
I gave him a look of daggers, "even if I did know where that damn flower is you think I'd tell you?"
Silence filled between us again, if looks could kill we would both be dead. I didn't want to break away, but his intimidating eyes made it hard.
Finally he looked away. While looking at the orange  flames i couldn't help but think Is this really what my family died for? For a flower I've never heard of.
I brought my knee to my face hugging it tightly staring down at my injured calf. The fabric was dirty and filled with dried blood and water.
"Why do you need it?" i asked sternly.
"And why would I tell the business of a demon to a human girl?" He bit back.
"It's natural for me to ask considering your demon friend slaughtered my family for that flower." He was getting on my nerves; how could someone be so cruel?
The demon got up from his spot and walked over to me.
He's so light on his feet for being so strong and blood thirsty.
I watched him try to grab my ankle again, before he could I pulled it into myself. He gave me annoyed look before quickly snatching it.
I watched him remove the old fabric gently from my calf, this time ripping a new piece of fabric from my other leg. He gently wrapped it around before tying it off.
"Why are you helping me?" I asked. He looked up from my leg giving me a blank stare.
"Like i said, im not doing it for you."
I was left with even more questions than before. Why did he need me? Was this not the demon my father spoke of?
"If you're going to keep me captive, can I at least know your name?" I asked him. He sat a little way away from me now his eyes still on the burning wood.
"Akaza."
If his name us akaza what's with his eyes?
We sat there for a moment more, I noticed the sky begin to turn blue indicating the sun was starting to rise. Akaza must have saw it to because he stood taking me in his arms once more.
"Why are we going?" I asked him but he never answered me, he just quickly moved through the forest.
With how fast he was going I clung on him harder than before, but finally we made back to the cave we left from earlier.
The cave was Slightly more lit up now that the sun was out and beginning the new morning. I could better see Akaza more clearly in the cave now then before when the sun was gone.
"My father told me demons can't walk in the sun, Is that true?" I asked.
" it is." He muttered.
In the silence of the cave my stomach growled at me. I hadn't realized how long I've gone with out food, I forgot about it until now.
"I'll have to find you something when the sun goes down." Akaza said.
"Thank you." I said grabbing my stomach.
~~~|ʚ❦ɞ|~~~

It had been a week since Akaza took me. My leg was still in the process of healing but I was able to put more pressure on it then before.

Akaza still questioned me about the blue spider lily but I still had no idea of where it could be or why he thinks my family has it. He said until I told him where it was he wasn't letting me go, and if I deceive him he would kill me.

We had spent most of our nights in he cave but occasionally we went out to find food for me.

"Akaza," I began getting his attention. "That demon, back in the forest, said I was a marechi.  What did he mean?"

He still gave me that cold stare. "A marechi is a person with pure blood, they give us more strength then any regular human would."

"There are only a few of you out there, which makes you more valuable. Demons will fight eachother to get there hands on one."

"How come you haven't eaten me then?" I questioned.

Suddenly he was now infront of me gripping my jaw forcing me to stay still. His face inched closer to mine, I could feel his breath fan my face gently.

that same smile he gave me a week ago returned, it sent shivers down my spin. My breath hitched as his eyes moved from mine to my lips.

"Are you offering, angel?" His voice was soft yet suggestive. He was toying with me.

"I have to admit," he whispered. His blue tipped fingers slowly moved from my jaw down to my neck, his feather like touch made me go still. He traced my skin with his fingers not breaking eye contact.

Akaza's half lidded eyes moved from my lips to my neck, he slowly moved his head to were his hand now rested, his hand was still gently stroking my neck moving down to my caller bone. "Your scent is quite intoxicating."

My heart pounded in my cgest I was sure he could hear it to. I felt my face heating up as he gently ran his fingers accross my skin.

"Akaza." I softly spoke. His golden eyes met mine. They were hypnotizing, so inhuman yet so beautiful.

"Your afraid." He stated. It caused me stiffen. his hand still caressed my caller bone playing with my necklace as he looked at me, how could he tell?

"I am." I said almost inaudible to my own ears.

In seconds he was gone, he sat across from me, up against the other side of the cave staring at me. I made eye contact for a beaf second before averting my eyes fixing my top.

He made me nervous.

"You need to rest." He commanded. "When you wake up we're leaving."

"How come?"

"That demon from the forest, that day, isn't the only one craving a marechi."
