Of course Changbin had accepted
the offer to meet up in the Han-Lee
apartment for some coffee and cake.
And Jisung couldn't help but feel
nervous because the thought that
he might be doing the wrong thing
right now just didn't leave his head.
This wasn't his business,
why hadn't he just said no?
Right, because Felix was his friend
too and he really wanted to help.
The freckled boy had been close to
tears, how could you say no to that?
"Hey Bin, come in!
We're alone, Min is at work for
at least another three hours.
It's just us and the kitties."
"Sounds good, I don't want to
steal your time with your husband.
But don't mind asking me.. Is there
a reason you wanted to meet up?
Not that I'm complaining,
it was just pretty sudden."
And when Jisung only sighed, Changbin knew that there
was more behind this.
"Let's sit down first.
Coffee? Tea? Juice?"
"Coffee please. If that's okay for you,
I know you can't drink any."
"It's okay, I can drink decaf coffee.
Although I'm craving some banana
juice, this little one surely has
their favorites."
Changbin nodded as he watched his
friend waddle to the large kitchen but
once he realized what was happening,
he rushed after the blonde.
"Ji, let me do it. It's okay, please sit
down. I know how your coffee
machine works and I guess the
banana juice is in the fridge?"
"Y-yeah but you don't have to-"
"No, I have to. You need to rest,
else I'll tell Minho."
And he only chuckled when
Jisung glared at him.
"Meanie."
Once the two had settled on the black
leather couch, their drinks in their
hands and a bowl of cookies on the
coffee table, the blonde sighed softly.
"So uhm.. Honestly Felix asked
me if I could talk to you.
I'm telling you this because you're
my friend and I don't want to get
dragged into this just because
I'm trying to help you two.
I think you know that Lix wants
children, he had always wanted
kids but I guess me getting pregnant
triggered something in him.
He told me that he always wanted
to have a baby before turning thirty.
But he said you're avoiding this
topic completely?"
Jisung frowned when Changbin
sighed, visibly upset as he stared
into the mug of coffee.
"Are you serious?
Is this really why you
called me here?"
"Bin, I'm just trying to help.
I'm not here to confront you
nor am I here to get an answer
out of you. I just thought maybe
you'd want to talk about it to
someone else."
"It's just.. I'm not ready to talk
about it yet, I love Lix more than
anything and I'd never keep secrets
from him but.. Why would I want
to talk to you if I already can't
open up to my soulmate?
I know you want to help, Ji.
And I'm very thankful for that
but I'm hurt that Lix sends you to
me as if I need another therapist.
If I'm ready, I'll be ready. And once
I am, I'll tell my boyfriend.
I have my reasons, is that so
hard to understand?"
The tiny kitten in Jisung's belly
had started to kick unhappily at
the harsh voice from outside but
when Jisung winced and placed
his hand on top of his baby bump,
Changbin immediately became quiet.
"A-are you okay?
Are you in pain, should I call-"
"It's okay, baby just wasn't
happy about us arguing.."
"Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't mean
to raise my voice. It's just..
A very sensitive topic for me.
And I hate to see Lix so upset,
I hate that I can't fulfill his biggest
wish at the moment. But I need time,
I'm just not ready yet."
"Have you told him that?
In those exact words?"
And Jisung could only sigh when the
realization slowly settled in Changbin.
"No.."
"I think you should do that.
He's not being pushy because
he really wants an answer, he's
just worried about you.
Bin, he loves you so much,
you being distant to him is
something that simply scares him."
"Yeah, I guess I understand..
Again sorry for yelling at you,
I didn't mean to. And please
don't tell Minho, he'll fry me."
Changbin chuckled before he took
another sip of his coffee.
"Don't worry, I might be married
to him but you're one of
my best friends."
Yeah, they've been friends for so long,
there was nothing that could
ruin their friendship.
At least they wouldn't allow it.
And even if it doesn't seem like
it at first, a true friend would
always just try to help you.
"How far along are you now?"
"24 weeks. Baby is the size
of an eggplant now."
"You should tell Hyunjin about that."
"Huh?"
"As far as I know he hates eggplants."
Changbin chuckled at his friend's
horrified face, noting how Jisung
immediately placed his hands
protectively on his baby bump.
"But I don't think he could ever
hate your baby, they'll be so cute."
"Obviously, baby got such
a pretty daddy."
"And a pretty mom,
your baby is so lucky."
A soft blush spread over the
younger's chubby cheeks as he
smiled shyly, making his friend coo.
"Thank you. It means a lot to me.
Now let's stop with this baby mess,
there's a new anime I've really been
wanting to watch and since Min is
busy, let's watch it together.
I think we still have some snacks
in the kitchen, let me-"
"No, I'll go get them.
You stay right here and
turn the movie on, okay?"
Changbin gave his best friend a
soft smile and ruffled his fading
blonde hair before he made
his way to the kitchen.
He was glad to have someone
like Jisung in his life, someone who
actually cared and just tried to help.
And in all honesty he was also glad
that the other was friends with both
him and Felix, he was just trying to
support their relationship without
offending anyone.
