It took almost 3 days for Bella's body's body to fully recover and begin her transformation. Eliza was holding Renesmee as Jacob stood behind her, still weary of the hybrid baby. All of the Cullen's were in the kitchen and Seth sat timidly on a nearby couch. All of the vampires heard Bella's body make one final stitch, meaning she was going to wake any moment. The family all looked around at each other, leaving the shifters confused. However, Jacob noticed the look on Eliza's face as she glanced down at the smiling baby and knew what had happened. Eliza then glanced over at Seth wearily, Bella was not going to be happy about the imprint.
Edward excused himself from the room and Jacob moved closer to Seth for support. Eliza continued to bounce baby Renesmee on her hip, cooing at her as she knew Bella would need to hunt before anything. "She's grown attached." Emmett smirked as he stared at Eliza from next to Jacob. "A little too attached." Jacob scoffed as he noticed how entranced the blonde was with the hybrid baby. "So, now that we know it's possible." Emmett looked at Jacob suggestively and Eliza whipped her head to glare at the burly man. "You're not funny." Eliza narrowed her eyes at the vampire, but Jacob just looked flustered. "I'm a little funny." Emmet's smirk remained as he was still amused.
"They're back." Seth stood up from his position on the couch a couple of minutes later, alarmed. "Should we be worried about him?" Eliza looked at Jacob wearily as she looked away from Renesmee. "Probably." Jacob sighed as Eliza handed her niece over to Rosalie and stepped beside him. "Welcome to the family." Esme grinned as Bella and Edward entered the house. "You look amazing Bella." Alice complimented the newborn excitedly. "Except for the eyes." Jacob muttered as Bella's right red eyes set his wolf on edge.
"Someone's been waiting to meet you." Carlisle grinned from in front of Rosalie and Seth. Seth tried his best to be his usual carefree self, but his instincts put him on high alert as he stood close to the baby girl. Rose." Edward motioned for the girl to turn around with Renesmee as Bella approached. Bella let out a breathy sigh as she took in the sight of her giggling daughter. Seth stiffened as Rosalie handed Renesmee off the Bella. Bella smiled down at the little girl in her arms and Renesmee raised her small hand up to her mother's face. A cross of confusion and disbelief took over Bella's face and Renesmee shared her first memory of her mother.
"What was that?" Bella didn't break eye contact with the child as she furrowed her eyebrows. "She showed you the first memory she has of you." Edward explained to his wife with a smile on his face. "Showed me, how?" Bella still didn't understand the situation. "How do I hear thoughts? How does Alice see the future? She's gifted." Edward grinned at the powers of his daughter. "I've only been out for two days?" Bella took in the progressive age of her newborn daughter. "Her growth rate is unprecedented." Carlisle shared the news that had all of the family a little concerned.
"Maybe that's enough experimenting for one day." Seth couldn't stop worrying about how close a newborn vampire was to his imprint. "Seth, she won't hurt her." Eliza gently touched the young shifter's arm, feeling bad for the young teenager. "What am I missing?" Bella looked around at her family members confused as she noticed Seth's odd behavior. "Do tell her." Rosalie grinned as she looked over at the two shifters in the room. "Hold on a second, Bella." Edward took Renesmee out of his wife's arms, also intrigued by the situation. "Look, Bella, it's a wolf thing." Jacob tried to save Seth from Bella's negative reaction. Bella looked down at Jacob and Eliza's hands before glancing over at Seth, who now had his head down.
"You imprinted on my daughter?!" Bella glared at Seth, taking a step closer to him. "It doesn't mean what you think, Bella." Jacob tried to intervene again as Seth continued to cower back from the vengeful newborn vampire. Bella pushed Jacob out of the way and Seth ran outside, stumbling down the stairs and away from Bella. Eliza went to follow after Bella, not liking the danger that Seth was in, but Edward put a hand out to stop her. "She's incredible." Edward stared after his wife as she stalked toward Seth as if he was her prey. "She's going to hurt him!" Jacob looked worried as he followed the two outside, worried about the young pack member. Eliza shoved Edward's hand out of her way as she made her own way outside.
"We can't control it, it wasn't my choice!" Seth tried to defend himself, not liking how angry Bella was with him. "She's a baby!" Bella scoffed as the rest of the Cullen family followed Eliza outside. "It's not like that." Seth shook his head as he struggled to find the words to defend himself. "I've held her once, one time! And already you think that you've got some wolfy claim on her?" Bella stepped down the stairs, getting too close to Seth for Eliza's liking. "She's mine!" Bella's reaction caused Leah to stalk out of the tree line, ready to attack Bella if she so much as touched Seth.
"You're going to stay away from her." Bella shook her head as she pushed the shifter back, Seth stumbling at Bella's newfound strength. "I-I can't do that." Seth immediately shook his head as he continued to walk away from her.
"You better stop her, Edward." Eliza stepped forward to intervene, but Jacob stopped her in worry for his own imprint. "He's fine, she's amazing." Edward watched his wife in admiration, completely oblivious to how dangerous she truly was. Bella took another step toward Seth and Leah had enough, lunging at the newborn. Bella automatically pushed Leah's wolf, her strength sending the girl crashing into a nearby tree. A loud whine left the wolf and Seth and Jacob immediately ran over to check on the female shifter.
Eliza glared at Edward as she stepped down and blocked Bella from making any more advances. "Leah, are you okay?" Seth looked at his sister worried as she rolled over in pain. "Leah, I'm sorry." Bella snapped out of her rage as she realized that she hurt one of the wolves. "She'll be alright." Jacob watched as Leah got up slowly. Bella immediately backed down as she felt Eliza's glare and Leah rubbed her wolf against her brother for comfort.
Jacob slept on the couch as he waited for Eliza to return from hunting with the rest of the Cullen family. Jacob woke up when Eliza leaned over the pack of the couch and poked him in the cheek. Jacob looked up at his mate groggily as the rest of the family shuffled in. "Happy Birthday!" Alice bounced in front of Bella with a grin. "I stopped again three days ago." Bella deadpanned as she thought about Alice's words. "Well, we're celebrating anyway, so suck it up." Alice scolded as she held a key out to the newborn vampire. Bella looked down at the key with confusion and Alice removed Renesmee from her arms, handing her off to Eliza. Alice then gestured for the new parents to follow her back outside and into the trees.
Jacob groaned when he saw his girlfriend in possession of the baby again and closed his eyes. "I'm going back to sleep." Jacob joked as he was prepared for the blonde to fuss over the baby again. "Have you ever even held a baby?" Eliza looked at Jacob expectantly, knowing he was very cautious around the child. Jacob shifted one eye open, giving Eliza a plain look. "You never held a baby?" Eliza fake gasped as she looked down at the monotone shifter. "Alright, up, up." Eliza swatted at Jacob's feet as she forced him to move over enough that he was sitting.
"Please no." Jacob pleaded as he looked at the child in Eliza's arms. Eliza rolled her eyes and moved Jacob's arms so that Renesmee fit. Jacob looked down at the child stiffly and Renesmee who giggled at the shifter's lack of comfort. "Alright, now take it back." Jacob held the back out to Eliza, who simply shook her head in amusement. "Fine." Jacob huffed when he realized that he was stuck with the baby. The shifter adjusted the baby in his arms so he was more comfortable and looked down at the little girl for the first time.
Renesmee reached her hand up and touched the shifter's face, immediately pulling him into her first memory of him. "That's incredible uncomfortable, but not bad kid." Jacob looked down at the baby impressed, the memory calming him slightly. Eliza laughed at the shifter before taking Renesmee back. Jacob smiled at Eliza and pulled her between his legs as he spread out on the couch again. Eliza gently shifted Renesmee around as she leaned her head against Jacob's chest. Renesmee yawned in Eliza's arms and the blonde began to hum a small tune, lulling the girl into a deep sleep.
"You're good at that." Jacob stared at the blonde in awe. "I've always wanted to have kids." Eliza admitted with a small smile as she looked down at the sleeping baby. "We haven't talked much about your human life since the battle." Jacob brought up hesitantly. "It's hard for me to think about it, the memories slowly blur over, but the pain of losing my siblings is still there." Eliza closed her eyes as she relaxed against Jacob, her mind flooding with visions of her sibling. "I get that." Jacob didn't push the subject as he saw the look on her face.
The shifter stared down at his imprint, allowing his senses to zone in on all the noises of the room, He furrowed his eyebrows as he picked up on a heartbeat, one that didn't belong to himself or Renesmee. The shifter looked down at Eliza, picking up on a small thump that pulsed every few seconds. "Eliza." Jacob whispered worriedly, not believing his ears. Eliza hummed and opened her eyes, the small thumping suddenly seizing. "Never mind." Jacob shook his head as he pushed away the strange possibility.
