Louise's POV
It's been about a week since Jessica was over, I completely avoided Gene until he left to go home, because I couldn't bear to have that conversation with him
I've completely dismissed my feelings and just convinced myself we are best friends there's no romance there
I pick up my phone and find Rudy's contact texting him
"Hey Rue! The restaurant is closed to Valentine's day, we've finally gotten good enough business to close on holidays, wanna hang out, we can go to Andy's, or our special spot from when we were kids"
"Sure! I'll be there in 30 minutes wait for me outside" he replies
I smile as I put my phone in my pocket smiling, I pack a small outfit Incase I go to someone's house and put it in a small bag
I tell Mom, and Dad bye as I head downstairs and wait for Rudy
I've been avoiding Tina a little bit since I might spill something to her that I don't want her to know
After sitting on the sidewalk for 25 minutes Rudy pulls up, I hop into his car and we start driving off
"You were pretty vague in your message, so where are we going" I ask Rudy curiosity lurking in my voice
"You'll see" he says with a soft smile "Here turn on some music you like" he adds handing me the AUX cord
I connect it to my phone and turn on Panucci's Pizza , "Aesthetic? (More like Ass-Pathetic)
(I used this as an opportunity to include one of my favorite songs)
It's near the end of the song and it's where the singer gets a little aggressive
"Damn he sounds angry" Rudy says glancing at his dashboard
I give him a light playful shove and say
"It's passion brah"
I immediately realize what I said and begin laughing so hard I cry, I look over and see Rudy trying to ignore what I said so he doesn't laugh and accidentally kill us both
Eventually I compose myself and Rudy pulls up to the back of store
I look over at him "hey it's our spot" I say smiling
"Our spot" is on top of a store in town Rudy and I used to come to a lot as teenagers, normally it was night time so we could stargaze, during the day we would talk or make things out of the clouds
He gets out of the car before me and opens the backseat, I look at him confused before I notice he pulls out some shopping bags
We climb to the top of the building by the ladder and he begins taking things out of his bags
He has a 6 pack of Gatorade, a shit load of pizza lunchables, and nail polish
"I don't know if you still like all of this stuff, but I remember you used to" he says handing me a lunchable
"Man these are the best cold, but why did you get nail polish, I've never liked that" I ask him
"Honestly they are for my sister, but I thought if you wanted to I could see this color on you" Rudy says holding up light blue nail polish
"Oh-ho-ho hell no, you will not get that near my hands" I say crossing my arms
"Oh come on Louise! Maybe blue is your color! Plus my sister wants me to put this on her and I need practice" he says trying to convince me
I begin to shake my head but I look at him, and give in
"You know what? Fine. BUT it has to look good" I say not looking him in the eyes
"Hell yeah! Thanks Louise" he says grabbing my wrist
I feel something come up in my stomach and everything feels safer when he grabs me, I can feel myself getting flushed so I cover my face by drinking some purple Gatorade.
Shit shit shit what's wrong with me why do I feel this way, Louise whatever you do, do NOT let your guard down. He's just painting your nails.
I feel the cold of the polish hit my skin
"Hey! You said you would be careful" I say looking down at the blue around my index fingers nail
"Actually I never explicitly said that!" He says smiling
I take a deep breath and accept the fact my fingers will look like half a Smurf
Rudy's POV
I got a message from Louise asking to hang out while I was shopping for my sister, she's letting me choose where we hang out so I decided on our spot.
And so we didn't get hungry I decided I was gonna buy some of her favorite snacks from when she was younger, lunchables pizza and purple Gatorade
After I bought everything I have about 10 minutes to get louise so I drove home to give my sister everything she wanted
"Guess who's back!" I say cheerfully as I walk through the door
Ruby comes from around the corner snatching the bags
"Woah woah slow down not everything is for you, I'm going to hang out with a friend so I got somethings for her, oh also could I borrow the nail polish you wanted? I'll bring it back, plus it's my money so technically it's mine"
"Ooooooo is it Louise?" She says in a playful joking way
"Maybe it is that's none of your business" I reply back feeling a little flushed
"You can borrow it, but you better give it back, have fun with your girlfriendddd"
I head out the door and drive over to Louise's place, after I get her I give her the AUX cord and she plays some of the wildest music I've ever heard
The only song we could actually finish before getting there, was a fun song even when the guy began screaming about his arms legs gut and face
Her music taste made me question other things I don't know about her, like her favorite color, was I actually her favorite person, her favorite snacks now
Once we get to our spot I see her face light up, I grab our bags and we begin heading up to the roof of the now run down store

I'm almost done painting her first hand with the blue nail polish, before I accidentally say something I don't mean to
"Louise, I'm worried about you"
Now see this sounds sincere but with Louise if you tell her this she spirals, she thinks you are judging her and she gets super defensive
"Don't say that." She says back with a serious tone
Fuck. Might as well finish what I started
"I know you don't like when people say that but you and I need to have a serious conversation"
"Ugh what is it with people and wanting to talk all the freaking time! I'm fine ok? There's nothing to talk about or to be worried about" she says sounding frustrated
"Louise. Please."
She glances at me I can see her trying to stay strong but she caves
"Fine. What are you worried about and what do we need to talk about"
See I know she has a soft spot for me, shes nicer to me than anyone else, so I can use it if I really need to get my way
"I'm worried about your substance problem" I say with a heavy sigh trying to focus on her nails
"Rudy Rudy Rudy buddy there's nothing to be worried about, I don't remember much about that phone call, but I remember saying that I'll only drink when you drink, plus I'm in college, my parents are letting me not be at work as often as I should because they know college should be a time to have fun and try things"
"I know Louise, but I'm just scared for you"
"There's nothing to be scared about!" I can see her getting more agitated
"Louise I just need you to promise me you'll be safe and whenever you are drunk please call me, I'll come get you or watch you"
"Fine what's the other thing you wanted to talk about"
"Before I left, how did you feel about me?" I say with a small shake in my voice. I know Louise doesn't like talking about feelings at all she hides them and ignores them, but I really needed to know.
She takes a deep breath stands up and whisper shouts
"I don't know what you think I felt but I can assure you it's wrong! Louise Belcher doesn't need feelings, god I knew I should've just stayed home today!
She climbs down quickly and I see her marching off down the street probably heading home
I rub my temples in aggravation, slowly climbing down the roof
Fine if she doesn't want to talk about it then I don't want to, I'll just leave her space until she calms down, wait for her to come to me.
