I think this goes without saying, but please be kind and respectful!! Both to me, and the other people applying. No hating on a person who's just trying to have fun, that's a big pet peeve of mine. If you aren't, I have no problem blacklisting you and don't come after me or any of these lovely people. The real world already has its negatives, so why can't we just have a little positivity in the 'fantasy' world?

I can't believe I have to make this a rule. Don't. Fricken. Steal. Don't steal a character, don't steal someone's layout, just don't be a jerk. Be creative, just ask nicely or use the layout I gave, and read rule #1! And, don't think just because you know me, gives you a free card. I've been lucky to have every I know be super sweet and respectful, but this is a just in case.

All are welcome!! No matter race, size, gender, sexuality, disabled/not, etc., we don't care, we'll love you the same! Please keep this in mind when applying.
No one is perfect, that goes for your characters too, and flaws make you beautiful!
Don't just make them diverse on the outside, make them diverse on the inside too!! Different personalities are a must, make them unique!! Also, when you get to the form part and see other people's (and/or my) characters, try to steer clear of 'copying' them. I mostly mean personalities, like if you already see a "sunshine character" or an "anxious sweetheart" try to not make anyone one. Similar interests are fine but too similar, and they practically get labeled as the same person or gender-bent...and it's no fun

Sunny Haven is a teen camp, so I ask your characters to be between the ages of 15-18. But just so you know, the older your OC is, the more reliable they have to be for the youngins. They don't have to be "the caretaker" type, not at all!! Just...keep it in mind.
These are just age group names, they are pretty much meaningless, unless for a specific purpose...which you will find out later. Please tell me which year, and think about years if your character was born between June 17 and August 16

There will be slots, like Which Cottage You Belong To. Stuff like Cottage Leaders, will either be assigned to one character from each cottage. I will ask in advance, and you don't have to say yes, but I'd appreciate it if you'd consider.
Oh! And make sure to put an emoji that fits your character!! You'll see examples in the next chapter, or on the "my characters" page! If you don't add an emoji...your done.
Also, check and make sure the slots your character will fall under are open. Double, even triple-check!

I beg of you please be descriptive when you make your form. Go crazy with details, I don't mind! Makes those little details make your characters pop!! The more detail, the more likely I'll choose your character. If you give me traits or something with basic information, I won't accept you. This is for me, wanting to get the best idea of your character possible, and if you aren't gonna help a demigal out...I'm sorry, but it's wasting my time. You will get rewarded for being descriptive, I promise you that much. <3
Also, if you forget to apply, or forget to do something, I'll remind you about 3 or so days after. It would just be a reminder, in no way shape, or form is it meant to be pushy.

Please oh PLEASE make your forms neat and easy to read. No unreadable fonts for big chunks of information, space everything out (don't press your info together). My dyslexia is bad enough as it is, just cut me a little bit of slack, por favor. If you don't do this...I probably will look at your form last...unless your character speaks to me.

Show some support or (friendly) criticism, and you don't understand how much I love reading comments, it gives me a boost in confidence and motivation (which both are kind of low, to begin with-). But I know that commenting on every single chapter can get tiring or things get oversaid, but I'd still appreciate it if you could at least do half of the chapters. But voting is a must.
Now, I'm no saint when it comes to being active 24/7, as I take lots of breaks for my health and ADHD. So I understand if you're on break/hiatus and aren't able to vote and comment, don't sweat it, I understand!! But if you're doing it on purpose, I'll think of the perfect way to get your character kicked out of camp <3

Only google docs/notions. My comments are so dumb, and they're hard for me to read them. Google Docs/Notions are so easy and pleasant to read, plus, I can save them!! In case my book gets deleted..
Oh! Make you're "intro" with their name, emoji, quote, and slot...then reply to that with your Google doc/Notion. And space everything out a bit, it makes it easier for me to read. Make sure you "Manage access to anyone with a link" if on Google Docs or "Share To Web" if on Notion
Also, I beg of you, please make a Pinterest board, or link a good handful of photos of outfits and anything else I ask. I promise it'll be worth it in the end. I'm a visual learner, so pictures are everything to me...and if you do, you may or may not be getting on my good side ;3
And...make sure to apply where it says to turn in...because I probably won't see it otherwise-

As stated, the OC range is 15-18, but I'm honestly super flexible about the actual age of the person you use, as long as they look like they could easily be 15-18, I'm fine with it, just not some 30 year old with a full-grown beard they can practically braid.
But at the end of the day, I get the last say if it's acceptable or not. It should be, as long as you follow the rules!!

Since there will be 16 characters in total, Your character most likely won't be in every single chapter. Your character will have just the same amount of spotlight as others, please don't worry!! It's hard to fit all 16 characters in every single 'scene', y'know? Cramming is painful; to read and write. Like I said about the spotlight, everyone will interact with each and get it, you just have to trust me.<3
Also...just because you applied, doesn't mean that you are automatically in. Or, just because you asked to be siblings/love interests/enemies/etc. I'm sorry, but it's not a freebie, and I've learned the hard way. I fall in love with characters WAY too often for my good, but I wish to see everyone's characters out and choose the cast that I'm going to have the most fun writing about. This hasn't happened to me yet, but I saw someone being nasty to an author for not picking them, and I just had to address it.
And remember. Just because you don't get accepted into one book, doesn't mean there won't be other books (by that author or not) to apply to. I've been through a denied heartbreak recently, and it sucked, but you would want the author to care about the characters in their books, right? So, like rule one, be kind and understanding. It's nothing against you, and I'll always love ya <3

You can apply at most 2 different characters (from separate cottages please). Although, only one from each person will get accepted. I would like everyone to be able to have a chance and apply if they want to. But once JULY 13TH comes around, I'll either choose a "second" character someone made, or if not I'll just make another if need to be. But I still would like more people to join this journey!! So, just because you made two characters, doesn't necessarily mean that they both will be in the main 16. They 9/10 will be considered for side characters unless I just don't get any applications, then I might accept it at the last minute..

I'm a sucker for love, so I want some love! I was love interests, a love triangle, unrequited love, aro-spec representation, all that good stuff!! While this is mostly a mystery story, our characters are hormonal teenagers, you can't tell me nothing's going to happen. Or maybe you can? You don't have you be open for a love interest, I would just like a couple or four, as I do want to do the "found family" trope. They might all be a happy family, or a family in a family, who knows~
