-Niragi's pov-
I woke up with a groan, I definitely wasn't in the same balcony as I was yesterday. I looked around for a moment, my vision was still sorta blurry from waking up, the fuck did I eat or drink? .. Did I get high off o' somethin'?
"Mornin' sleeping beauty." A familiar cocky voice said. I rubbed my eyes and looked in the direction of the voice. The first thing I saw was a white jacket. Yeah, that's the Cheshire alright. I look up at him for a moment, then looked around the room and back at him with a small smirk.
"I thought you didn't want me in your room?" "Shut up, I don't know where your room is 'cause I'm not a creep like you are." "Rude." Chishiya shrugged and got up from the chair he was sitting at. He seemed tired, and bored.
"Well? Are you just gonna sit there and look pretty or are you going to get out of my bed?" "Alright, alright, I'm going." I get up from the bed, and looked at it. It sorta smelled like cat hair somehow. I shrugged it off and gave the Cheshire a smile, "What? You didn't tuck me in or anything?" He glared at me and I just mocked his glare as he looked away.
Chishiya unlocked his door and basically pushed me out of his room. I sighed and just walked downstairs towards the hatters meeting room, I hid some snacks in one of the cabinets out of sight so hopefully they're still there because I'm starving.
As I walked down the hall and took a right to the meeting room, I bumped into Last Boss. He looked at me for a second, almost as If he was blinded by how shiny his bald fuckin' head was and did that creepy smile of his. "I thought you were busy flirting with Chishiya?" he giggled like a fuckin' hyena.
"Shut your trap, I haven't flirted with the Cheshire." "..Not yet" he ran off, still giggling like a hyena and walking running a cartoon henchman.
I made it to the room and there was nobody inside. Perfect, now I can have my snacks to myself.

(YES HE'S STILL HUNG UP AB THE SKELETON, LEAVE ME ALONE

I was still in my room, leaning on the wall as I looked at my bed. Niragi's silhouette was left by the wrinkles his clothes made. Piercing boy slept like fucking Sleeping Beauty while I slept on the floor. .. Why did I let him sleep on the bed anyway..?
Pushing my thoughts out of my head, I get off the wall and walked over to the small room I called a closet. Opening the door, I saw a small black figure...The skeleton..?
I took a second look, making sure It wasn't that and just saw a box... Why am I hung up on that skeleton? Is it because It could have been a kid or something? Maybe because it was burnt and basically torn in such a small state? Or because I used to be a medical student..? Whatever the reason was, I wanted the skeleton to just leave my mind already. It won't leave though, no matter how hard I try to keep it away,, It's only been a day too.
..Maybe I should just take a walk around the BEACH? Getting some fresh air should calm my mind I suppose. I close my closet, not even sure what I was going to get, and left my room; closing the door behind me.
After a few minutes of mindlessly walking through some halls, I found the balcony that Niragi found me on a few days ago. I walked out and just leaned against the balcony fence.
I sighed, it was breezy today. The usual lasers killing people were going on and on in different areas. You know, if it wasn't for the fact the lasers killed people, i would've thought the red hue on the sky was actually beautiful. Instead, it was like an omen of death greeting me....
With skeletons.
After a bit of breathing in the fresh-ish air, I went back inside of the building and made my way downstairs. Maybe there's something to eat in the supply room? Kuina's probably still with Ann so there obviously won't be any drama to listen to. I just realized Kuina's the person that actually makes my life interesting..
Besides Ann, Myself, The Hatter, Last Boss, and Niragi... I guess.
A few people passed me as I went downstairs in search of the supply room. It seemed a lot of people were either hanging out outside or on their own little game expedition.
Soon enough, I found the room and looked around for some stuff. There weren't going to be the good cookies since Kuina said they had ran out like yesterday, probably nothing worth interest in the actual sweets section then. Looking through some of the shelves, my eye caught sight of a can of beans.
Like hell am I eating that shit.
Right next to it was some Chef Boyardee though, I could make use of that. I scanned the shelf for something edible of the brand, only two options. Alphabet soup or Lasagna.
Imagine if Niragi caught me eating Alphabet soup, how stupid would that be? He'd probably think I have a little kids brain, hell, he'd probably be entertained with the fucking food from how stupid he is!

I exited the room with the Alphabet soup and made my way to the kitchen, nobody was on staff duty right now anyway. I heated up the soup and sat on the floor of the kitchen, not like I wanted to move much either. I just ate the brand food and quietly thought about random stuff.
About ten minutes passed before I threw away the now empty can and the plastic spoon I grabbed. I stretched then exited the kitchen, making my way to the meeting room to see if the hatter was there to hopefully get done with another game so I wouldn't have to see Niragi for a bit. I was also fiddling with the hoodie strings I had because I had grown bored of just doing nothing for days on days before going on games that were also boring.
..Well, maybe the last game was sort of interesting. It sent a small thrill when I was almost caught at the end.
Then there was the damn skeleton.
I sighed and shook my head, just trying to forget about that long gone thing as I entered the meeting room.
Huh, nobody was here. I walked around for a bit, maybe I can sit somewhere and wait for Hatter to come and give me a game to go on, just to get rid of me for a bit. Sitting down at the table, I move my head to be met face to face with Niragi eating cookies in the corner.
...
Cookies?
I get up and walk over to him with a sly smile, this bitch better not have taken the good cookies. Piercing boy quickly hides the bag behind him, trying to pitifully hide the cookies. "What'cha doing here Niragi?" I say, waiting for him to admit what he was doing. "...Your mom..." "..." "..."
This mother fu- wait no, that would prove his point.
"Look, I already saw the cookies. Why are you still trying to hide them? There's no point." I say bluntly, waiting for him to reveal what the brand is behind the sweets. "Ugh, fine Cheshire." He pulls out the cookie bag and eats another one with a snarky grin. "Aren't these the ones you like? They're honestly a bit sweet and too soft, sort of dull for a cookie brand. Honestly" He says snickering. This bitch took the only tolerably good brand of cookies left in the supply room just to piss me off. The devil really does wear a horrible shirt.
-3rd person pov-
The two men bickered for about an hour before The Hatter barged in with Aguni close by his side. They all looked at each other with confused expressions. The faded blonde was the first to speak. "Ah. Hello.." he muttered before putting his hands into his pockets once more to walk over to the older men. Niragi got up, hiding the last of the few cookie bags swiftly in their original hiding space, and walked over to Aguni to chat until Chishiya left.
"So? Can you allow me to go on a game before our times up? I'd much rather not go to a game with this idiot again." The Cheshire says swiftly as he waits for the Hatter to answer. "No" he says bluntly, declining the cat's question. "What, why?" "Because I'm sticking to my word. You two are going on missions together for a while! Easy as that, now, run along boys. I need to discuss private matters with Aguni here." The Hatter shoo's the boys out of the meeting room with a smirk.
Niragi opened his mouth to say something, only to be declined by Chishiya before he could even say anything. "I don't want to hear it Piercing boy." He says as if he has venom on his tongue. The dark haired male rolled his eyes, putting his hands on his hips as if to mock the cat for putting his hands in his pockets.
Chishiya walks away as Niragi playfully mocks him. It seemed the taller male didn't like this motion and followed after him, not skipping a step as he continued to annoy the med student.
After a while, the two men made it outside. "What are we doing outside? "Well, I was going to take a walk around the BEACH. You just decided to be a pain in my ass and follow me." "...I mean, I could literally be a p-" "No." "Fair enough" Niragi gives up at his attempt to flirt with the faded blonde and just walks with him around the building. The boys made it half way through the lap before Niragi opened his mouth again.
"This is boring Cheshire." Chishiya just gives him a subtle glare as his lips turn up a bit in a false smirk. "Well, you can always go back inside." He says with a playful tone behind his annoyed expression. (shinobu vibes fr 😨) "Pass. I like being near you anyway."
"..."
"..."
"'ll go back inside now." Niragi says out of embarrassment to his realization he spoke out loud. Chishiya stifled a laugh as he looked up at him. "What? Is the rabbit getting flustered that easily? You really aren't as bad as you make yourself out to be." He says, snickering a bit.
(you're not you when you're hungry, have a snickers ^-^)
Niragi just scoffed, crossing his arms and looking away angrily. "You're lucky I don't have my gun or else I would've blown your browns out already!" he says, glaring down at the blonde. A few girls passed by them, some looking over and just laughing at the small show, some even going as far as pointing and laughing. Chishiya shrugged, pulling Niragi by his shirt to continue walking before he made an even bigger scene.
A few minutes passed before Niragi finally pushed Chishiya off of his shirt. "Jeez, and here I thought you hated me-" He said bluntly, trying to fix his now wrinkled shirt. Chishiya gave him a mocking smile before rolling his eyes, "I do, but I'm not going to let a fool make an even bigger fool of himself. I'm not heartless y'know." The Cheshire says defensively, "Be grateful I didn't pull your hair, that shit would've come off immediately with how dead it must be by now" (as if you're one to talk)
"Let's just keep walking Cheshire. For a cat, you sure are acting like a bitch." The pierced man says, already walking again as Chishiya is forced to follow. "Oh fuck off. At this point i'll just look for Kuina and Ann. They're much more fun than you are." "Sorry, I can't please a pussy like you." "Damn, that's probably why you get no bitches."
The bickering went on.
And on.
...And on...
Eventually, the two of them made it to the pool side of the BEACH. Unsurprisingly, there was a pool party going on. "Chishiya, you wan-" "No." "You're no fun" "Not what your mom said" And the arguing began again.
After about ten minutes of standing around and just verbally abusing each other, they agreed to shut up and continue to walk after sitting near the pool for a while.
"So, Cheshi-" "Shut up" "But I was just going to-" "No" "But-" "I refuse"
As you could tell, the sitting at the pool together for a while was not a good idea. However, they still went through with the resting plan.
Twelve minutes passed and the men got up and began the walk again. Chishiya attempted to leave Niragi behind and failed. The rest of the walk was silent, well, mostly silent. The black haired boy kept trying to whistle at girls who passed by, a pathetic attempt at a quick catcall. Soon enough, the cat-like boy got pissed and kicked him.
Yup, a quiet walk.
Chishiya walked back into the building from where he left and Niragi silently followed like a stray dog. The two ended up just going into Chishiya's room, mainly because Chishiya had no desire to go into Niragi's room which was supposedly further down in the building. The faded blonde just sat on his bed as the piercing boy just sat next to him on the floor. "Alright, what's with the act all of a sudden?" Chishiya asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked down at the annoying man. "What act?" Niragi replied as though he wasn't acting differently, not bothering to lift his head to look at the man. "You're quiet, it's not good when you are quiet." The Cheshire muttered, shaking his head and looking up at the ceiling in a bored way. Niragi just shrugged, "Make up your mind Cheshire. Do you want me to shut up or keep talking? Either way, I have a feeling I'm annoying you." Chishiya just rolled his eyes as he continued to stare at the ceiling.
"I prefer you to speak. Your voice is annoyingly nostalgic."
"....You suck at compliments"
"It wasn't a compliment, idiot"
'At least I think it wasn't' Chishiya thought to himself, looking down at Niragi who was now staring at the wall of his room. "How many days do we have until our next game anyway? It's sorta boring here, there's barely anything to do besides drink, sleep, fuck, do drugs, and I guess kill." Niragi said, rubbing his eye as he dragged his eyes to the smaller man who was staring back at him. "Oh, um.. I think we have just one day left. We did go to a two of clubs game after all" the cat muttered back as he averted his eyes to the floor.
Niragi gave a god awful smirk when Chishiya looked away. "See something ya like Cheshire?" He earned a glare and the finger from the man. Niragi just waved this off before speaking again. "Anyway~" he began, earning a smack in the head from the cheshire, almost like a mother scolding her child for something. "Say it normally dumbass" he muttered, "Yeah yeah Chishiya. Like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted.. did the Hatter need our card or did he have it already?" "Pretty sure he has two of clubs, he was missing three, six, and seven of clubs." The two shrugged.
"The cards are literally going to be the end of us, right Cheshire?" he joked, making a downward gun motion as if he meant the laser. Chishiya just rolled his eyes and laid back in the bed, clearly bored by how this conversation was going.
"...." "...." "Hey ch-" "no" "C'mon, let me finish!" "....Fine" Niragi made a small victory motion, like one out of a video game, and looked up only to see Chishiya's legs and not his face. "Well, I was thinking we could play t-" "no" Niragi groaned in annoyance.
A few moments passed, the only thing you could hear was the pool party and the lasers killing people from outside of the room.
"I didn't say stop talking." Chishiya muttered, sitting up and bringing his knees to his chest as he looked at the man sitting beside his bed. "You're a special one Cheshire, you don't want me to annoy you but you want me to talk" "And you're repeating, what's your point? Just don't say stupid shit." The cat-like boy replied bluntly as the militiant looked up at him with an annoyed expression, his eyebrow piercing not really helping his facial annoyance.
They began to bicker again, this time it went on for about five minutes before they were interrupted by a knock at the door. Chishiya got up and answered it, finding that it was Kuina and Ann. The more energetic of the two girls quickly jumped at Chishiya and gave him a hug (the best she could before he pushed her off) and the other just waited to be invited in. "Howzit going Chish?" Kuina said, trying to be as annoying as she could be to the more stoic man. Kuina just waltzed right into his room before he could say anything.
".......Chish, I think a rat got in" She said sternly,putting her hands on her hips as she looked at Niragi with a pout. "Oh, really? I think he let in a raccoon then" Niragi said, scowling at the girl before rolling his eyes as Chishiya shot him a glare. It's clear who the favorite of the two were.
Ann walked in, giving Chishiya a small smile and pulling Kuina to the side so that it wouldn't be crowded at the door. Kuina and Niragi were just sticking their tongues out at eachother, like siblings or just little kids who hated each other. Ann just sighed and crossed her arms, it was like the two immature ones would have to get used to each other one way or another.
Chishiya just looked over at Ann, "So, is there any particular reason you two are here? Or did you hear the rat chitter?" the cat asked quietly, motioning over at the piercing boy as he put his hands into his pocket again. Ann shrugged, moving a strand of her short hair out of her face as she looked over at the two who were silently bickering. "Kuina just wanted to stop by, we came back from a game together so she thought it would be a nice surprise for you to see us both." The girl explained smiling a bit when Kuina gave Niragi the finger and almost dropped the dummy cig she had been chewing on. Chishiya just nodded in understandment, he considered Kuina to be a younger sister to him because of how she acted and how he cared for her. He saw Ann's occasional smiles be targeted at Kuina and he raised an eyebrow.
"So, did you come along for that reason or did you come along because of Kuina?" He asked, his lips turned up in a playful smile as he watched Ann shake her head. "You really do see through everyone" she joked, leaning against the wall and turning her attention to Chishiya again. "I think I mainly came for Kuina, but I guess talking to you for a bit wouldn't hurt." she says, her voice low as she tilted her head to let her hair fall out of place.
The calmer two of the four just chatted normally for a while as the more immature adults acted as angry teenagers. A few hours passed and they all decided to go to the cafeteria for food. Kuina walked besides Ann in front of the boys while Niragi chose to walk besides Chishiya. "I swear, I'm gonna blow her brains out one day.." Niragi muttered, his heads behind his head as he walked. "Stop that, you'll look like an emo teen who has a god complex." the cheshire said, still having his own hands in his pockets.
Niragi pouted, listening to the shorter man and putting his hands down. Chishiya gave a quick smile at the fact he didn't argue. Maybe Kuina had worn him out from the bickering those two did earlier. The girls were just speaking about the previous game and it's players, gossiping about how they were acting during the game and giggling when they looked back at the two boys. It's clear they were having fun.
"Quit moping" Chishiya said, almost as if he was scolding Niragi for just existing. Niragi just glared at him before smirking, "I will if you give me a kiss" he says, trying to tease Chishiya. "I'll kick your balls before I ever do that." He countered, walking faster so that he was next to the girls and away from Niragi.
"Oh, hey Chish! Why's your face so re-" "Shut it" Kuina and Ann exchanged a glance then stifled their laughter. Niragi was left out of whatever was happening and he just sighed, not really caring anyway.
The four made it to the cafeteria and split ways in their duos. Sadly, this meant more arguments between the two boys.
There were some other people in the lunch room, most were looking for quick stuff to eat or places to sit. The two just walked around for a while before Chishiya found some sweets he found interesting. "Never took you as a sweets guy.." Niragi muttered, Chishiya just ignored him and searched for any sweets that would fit his likes.
"What do you think? Twinkie or...." the faded blonde picked up something and showed it to Niragi, "Oatmeal cookie?" "Twinkie, that cookie looks like it's having a stroke in that bag." Chishiya shrugged, finding the comment slightly funny as he put the oatmeal cookie back and he just walked back over to Niragi. "Well? Aren't you going to get something too eat too? I'm not sharing this Twinkie." The Cheshire says, almost defensively as he held the sweet close to him jokingly. Niragi looked down with a smile, "What, you're not gonna feed me? How selfish" he said with a purposely annoying voice as he went over to where the blonde found the sweets.
A few moments later, the two left the area and walked over to the middle of the BEACH to eat their snacks. (aw, they're warming up to each other <3)
"So Ch-" "No" "But-" "Shut up" "...Alright.."
(oh, nvm)
The two ate their snacks silently, sitting on the ledges of one of the pillars for leverage. The Cheshire paused before eating his Twinkie and looked over at the piercing boy. "..What were you going to say?" he asked, averting his eyes as he took his last bite from the sweet. "I thought you'd never ask" Niragi joked before giving Chishiya a quick smile. "I wanted to say.... um.."
"You wanted to say...????" "...I forgot.." Chishiya rolled his eyes and put the wrapper in his jacket pocket. "Anyway, are your hands never cold? Your jacket isn't exactly made for body heat." Niragi says, trying to remember what his previous statement was going to be. The cat shrugged, taking out one of his hands and offering it to the taller man.
"I dunno, I can't necessarily feel my own body heat correctly. They don't feel warm or cold" Chishiya muttered, glancing over at Niragi for just a moment before averting his eyes. "You can see for yourself if they're cold.." The black haired man blushed slightly at the though of holding another mans hand, much more since he wasn't sure he actually felt about the smaller man. Hesitantly, he reached over and took Chishiya's hand.
It was smooth, the texture was obviously slightly rough since he had also been fighting for his own life in killing games, but smoother than expected; it was a cold feeling, the hand itself was cold but Niragi couldn't shake off the feeling that there was a different feeling to the Cheshire's hand. In an attempt to figure out the feeling, he interlocked his fingers with Chishiya's. It was no doubt that the boys hand was indeed freezing, but it was also felt as though the cheshire's hand had gotten slightly warmer at the touch. Realizing that he was staring at the hands for a moment too long, Niragi quickly looked up at Chishiya, ending up face to face with Chishiya's usual cocky and playful smile. "It looks like we're holding hands now, got something to say piercing boy?" He asked with a taunting expression. Niragi just snatched his hand away and rolled his eyes, scoffing.
"Holding hands? With you? Preposterous!" he said, clearly flustered by the shared moment of something as simple as holding hands. The usually cocky, energetic and arrogant man just stuffed his hands into his pants pockets as he tried to pathetically hide his bashful expression. Chishiya found amusement in this and just smiled as he also looked the opposite direction.
Chishiya sighed dramatically, getting off of the ledge he was still sitting on and looking t Niragi with a now bored expression. "Well, as much as I'd love to start fighting with you again, i'd prefer to go to sleep before tomorrow. I'd like to be well rested for the next game, and to deal with your annoying antics." He said, almost trying to provoke something out of Niragi. The taller man was about to say something snarky in response but just shrugged it off as he waved him away. Chishiya frowned at this and shrugged, walking in the direction of his room with a single thought in mind.
'No way am I gay for Niragi.'
It was the one phase he repeated over and over in his head until he closed his room door behind him and flopped onto the bed. Once again, he didn't bother getting in the covers and just laid there for a good thirty minutes with nothing in mind.
He twisted and turned for that half an hour, staring at the hand Niragi held in a longing way. 'What am I feeling..?' he thought to himself, almost as if he was disappointed.
The cat-like man just brought his hand to his chest, seemingly hoping for that simple hand holding, that hadn't even lasted two minutes, to happen again. He sighed, for now he'd have to deal with that sense of incompletion. Twisting in the bed once more, he found himself in a comfortable position near the pillows and just looked at his cold hand. 'Maybe I can warm it up for next time?' he thought hopefully, quickly shaking the idea away. 'No, there won't be a "next time." I'm just being delusional right now.' he convinced himself before closing his eyes and attempting to force himself to sleep. The cheshire found himself frustrated as he didn't even feel drowsy or even the least bit tired, it was already far past 10 pm and he still wasn't asleep. Around midnight, Niragi would go on patrol duty and make sure everyone was in their rooms (or at least not in the open).
Chishiya opened his eyes to see his hands were fairly close to each other, he gave in and just held his own hand pretending it wasn't his and finally finding the peace to fall asleep.
Niragi was indeed walking around on patrol, now with his gun resting over his shoulder as he had flaunted it around. He seemed to have left it with Aguni yesterday before he had gone to get high off of things he couldn't remember. Niragi was holding onto his gun tighter than usual, not even to ready it to shoot at someone. He was just holding it tight because it felt like something familiar.
The gun was usually warm, even before he fired it, and it was usually rough around the edges. But right now, Niragi felt as though the gun was smooth and cold, just like something else..
Or rather, someone else.
He shook the thought away before it even appeared completely. He was on patrol, thinking about stupid things could get him in trouble since it would mean lack of focus and maybe another incident. The long haired man just looked over every hallway of the beach and went out to smoke on the balcony as he did a few days prior to now. He sighed as he didn't see Chishiya there, shrugging as he lit his cigarette and looked across the balcony.
The empty pool had been filled with forgotten cups and wrappers, even swimsuits had been in the pool itself. The view wasn't too bad tonight, it seemed like a few clouds were barely making it into view since the lasers ending peoples Visas had been stopping them from forming in the first place. The sky was almost pitch black, the red lasers lightening it a bit and the lights in the BEACH. Niragi looked over the edge, puffing out the smoke and sighing. He put his gun down and sat on the ledge of the balcony.
He looked up at the sky in boredom. He thought he might as well have started to try and remember what he was going to ask Chishiya earlier.
The piercing boy pulled at his eyebrow piercings with boredom, it seemed as though his thought process was all over the place. He kept smoking for a while then looked back down at the floor, his gun was leaning on the ledge as well. He looked at his hand for a moment, '..Cold..' he silently thought to himself, getting off the ledge and putting out the cigarette after twenty more minutes.
'Holding the Cheshire's hand was nice.. it was cold though...' Niragi thought to himself, picking up the gun and putting it over his shoulder once again, entering the BEACH once again. He started to walk around the halls and went into his room. It was probably around 2 or 3 am, he decided now was the time to go to sleep. 'Last Boss could just go and take over for the last bit of the patrol' he thought as he placed his gun in a corner he could see it from and just flopped onto the bed.
He sighed, getting comfortable inside the sheets and undoing his half ponytail. He looked at his hand again, opening and closing it many times as if to check if it was real. The black haired man just sighed, trying to remember what he was going to tell the faded blonde a few hours ago but fell asleep instead.

(OMG, I FINALLY FINISHED THIS CHPT- I took like almost 3 weeks after making Niragi's pov for this bc I wanted this chpt to be much much longer and now it's alr at 5k words!! I would have made this longer but I felt like it was getting a bit repetitive. Here's a random HC for them!!

Both Chishiya and Niragi are touch starved but Niragi is much more touchy while Chishiya doesn't really know how to interpret affection and touchiness, thus, both were confused after the hand holding ^-^
Anyway, I hope you all liked this chpt!! Ideas r welcome and lemme know what you guys would think about adding Usagi and Arisu to the story?? Maybe just a chpt about Kuina and Ann? Lemme know luvs <3)
