Below are some descriptions of the settings and characters featured in the novel, which may aid in understanding the story.
The Land of Faeryn
Court of Soaring Wind

♡ Great House: House of Gray; Heir Quentin Gray
♡ Location: In the skies residing above Glass Spire Mountains. The Court is spread across hundreds of small floating islands which are obscured from ground view by vast shimmering mist.
♡ Fae Characteristics: The fae in this court often have delicate and fair features, with slim builds and an average height of 5'5. They are best known for their bird-like wings, which appear in soft colours across the spectrum, and their ethereal grace and poise. Some fae are born with the ability to 'birdspeak', which allows them to charm others into doing their bidding.
♡ Court Values: Law, Peace, Responsibility
Court of Emerald Waves

♡ Great House: House of Vaneir; Heir Aurie Vaneir
♡ Location: They rule over the stretch of ocean and beach encompassing the three land courts, known as the Emerald Bay.
♡ Fae Characteristics: These fae often have patches of scales that range between deep sapphire and palest green. They have webbed fingers and long limbs that grant them dexterity in the water. Despite having the ability to hold their breath for extended periods of time (up to three hours), most prefer to make their homes on the sand, while using the ocean as a source of food.
♡ Court Values: Freedom, Prosperity, Beauty.
Court of Twisting Vines

♡ Great House: House of Deviasé; Heir Florian Deviasé
♡ Location: This court takes claim of the Paredion Forest, which takes up a quarter of the land.
♡ Fae Characteristics: The fae residing here are known for their slender beauty and grace. Their features are often very pale as the forest provides heavy cover from the sun. Wickedly curved nails and slanted eyes are common amongst their kind. Many will weave roses into their hair or accessorise with heavy jewellery. Rarely, a fae will be born with the ability to manipulate natural material, such as vines and Paredion roses.

Court of Blazing Sun

♡ Great House: House of Aura; Heir Näomi Aura
♡ Location: In the fields and meadows surrounding the Glass Spire Mountains.
♡ Fae Characteristics: The fae in this court often take on a deep, sun-browned appearance, using glittering gold jewellery to accentuate this. They have sturdy builds and often roguishly charming features. Some emit a faint golden aura that becomes more noticeable in darkness.
