"Hey, I didn't know you guys were coming." Savanna smiled at Maddie and Evan Buckley as they both approached the Grant-Nash household.

"I didn't know you were coming either." Buck told her, giving her a hug.

"I just got cleared, what's your excuse?" Savana questioned Buck backing away.

"Same." He smiled widely at her as Maddie rang the doorbell.

"Hey! I'm so glad you guys could make it! Come in." Athena greeted them with a wide smile.

"Thanks for having us." Savanna smiled at Athena giving her a short hug.

"Surprise!" Savanna literally jumped at the voices yelling a giant smile falling on her face as she looked around at everyone. Everyone was here from the Grant-Nash family, Diazs, Wilsons, Buckleys, and Hans. Savanna walked over hugging everyone.

Savanna was crouching in front of Chris on the Grants patio music was in the background, the atmosphere light and full of happiness. Chris handed Savanna a piece of paper with a drawing of a female firefighter and a little boy at the beach. "Wow, buddy this is amazing." Savanna praised Chris who smiled.

"It's you and me." Chris told her.

"This is going right on the fridge." Savanna declared earning an even bigger smile from chris.

"Chris! I found cupcakes!" Buck came up to Chris sweeping him off before Eddie could protest to the sugar.

Savanna laughed softly standing from her crouching position coming face to face with Eddie, "Hi." Savanna greeted him.

"Hi," Eddie greeted back. "It's gonna be good to have you back at work things haven't been the same without you." Eddie told Savanna who slightly blushed.

"I'm happy to be back. If it wasn't for Chris I would have gone crazy." Savanna admitted honestly. Over the course of two months Savanna had seen Chris almost everyday most of the time it was only for dinner or to go to the park since she was still healing but both Chris and Savanna had been savoring the time.

Eddie and Savanna were soon joined by Michael, Hen and Karen. "Uh, will you guys excuse me while I crucify Athena and Bobby for getting married without me." Savanna excused herself from the group.

Spotting the newly weds at the outside patio table alone. Sitting in front of them, Savanna held her hands together looking at them. "Traitors." Savanna stated.

"Sunsh-" Athena started.

"I was going to make a very emotional speech." Savanna quips. "And what happened to all of Bobby's wedding planning? I helped him pick out that color scheme and it took an hour and a half." Bobby laughed at Savanna's complaint.

"We were going to invite you. But it was a spur of the moment decision because we knew it was the right time and didn't want to wait any longer." Athena explained to Savanna who could no longer hold up her fake upset demeanor.

"I'm happy for you guys. Now where is that cake?" Savanna pointed to the cake in Bobby's hand.

"Over there we got two just in case." Athena pointed to the extra table set up in the backyard. Savanna was grabbing a piece when her attention was drawn to continuous coughing.

Turning around she saw Buck coughing while clutching his chest moving towards him Savanna called his name. Buck turned towards her blood pooling from his mouth as he fell back. "Evan!" Savanna screamed as everyone's attention fell to Savanna who caught Buck trying to break his fall from the floor.

•••

"Thank God, I wasn't sure that they were gonna send anyone." Savanna followed Bobby into a nursing home. After Bucks accident last night which ended up being blood clots that buck ignored everyone ended up going home besides Savanna who was comforting a very worried Chris.

"You the one who called?" Bobby asked.

"It's my dad, Jack." She told them as she began leading them up the stairs.

"We came to have lunch with him. He was acting weird. And then, Dave, that's my brother, he noticed something on his stomach. We tried to get a closer look, but he kicked us out and locked the door." She told them lowly.

Hen and Savana shared a glance as they continued to follow her to a door with two men standing in front of them. "Finally! Our father is having a medical emergency behind a locked door that no one in this damn place can seem to open." Dave the son glared at the nursing home worker.

Bobby pushed his body against the door and it opened slightly, "The lock's not the problem. There's something on the other side keeping it from opening." Savanna told them.

"Your sister said that you saw something on your father's stomach." Hen looked at Dave.

"Uh, these marks. Like wounds or maybe sores? It was hard to tell." He told them as Bobby knocked on the door. "Jack, this is LAFD. Will you please let us in?"

Jack opened the slot on the door, "Not until those ungrateful vultures stop circling!" Savanna bit back an amused smile as Jack slammed the peephole door shut.

"Dad." The daughter sighed.

"Hey. Ungrateful? Who does he think pays for this place?" Dave questioned in disbelief.

"You sold my house to pay for it!" Jack yelled through the door.

"Eddie, Chim, we're gonna have to storm the Bastille here." Bobby whispered into his radio.
"He's acting like a child." Dave stated.

"I am not." Jack argued back.

"Storming the Bastille, Cap." Chimney's voice came through through walkies.

"He's old, Dave. And sad and lonely, living in this place, knowing he's dying." The sister tried to reason with her brother.

"Oh, wait, your father's ill?" Savanna questioned.

"I didn't mean, dying, dying. I just mean..." Jack cut his daughter off through the door, "You wish, you ungrateful brats."

"He is 82." She shrugged.

"And I'm as healthy as a horse." Jack reopened the peephole door.

"And stubborn as a mule." Dave told him walking towards the window.

"Hey, I'm your father. You're not too old for the back of my hand." Savanna raised her hand covering her mouth from laughing.

"Okay, well, then, come on out here and try it, old man." Dave challenged him.

"My money's on you." Dave turned from the door letting the peephole shut.

Due to it being Savanna's first day back she got the honors of getting up close and personal. "Mm-mm, no. That's not a rash." Savanna told them, shaking her head.

"Maybe MRSA. Have you been to a hospital recently?" Chimney questioned standing over savanna's shoulder.

"Ooh, that's the flesh-eating thing, right? Oh, I'm gonna wash my hands." Dave panicked.

"It's not a MRSA." Jack told them.

"Oh, yeah? You sound pretty sure about that. When did the symptoms start?" Hen questioned him, raising an eyebrow.

"A few weeks back. You know, I figured it would go away on its own, like crabs." Jack shrugged nonchalantly.

Savanna quickly stood up, " All you chim." She told him backing up to stand next to eddie. Chimney looked at them in disbelief only getting the 'go on' looks.

"Fine, I'll look." Chimney sighed.

"Knock yourself out." Dave smirked as Chimney rolled his pants back and Savanna winced.

"Oh, what is that?" Dave gagged.

"I don't know. Maybe donovanosis." Chimney looked at Savanna and Hen.

"Mm, well, there's something you don't see every day." Hen told them.

"Thank you." Jack smiled proudly.

"No, sir, it looks like you have a flesh-eating STD. Don't thank me." Hen shook her head as Chimney began checking his pupils.

Eddie and Chimney help Jack up and down the hall, "What kind of an 82-year-old gets an STD?" Dave scolded his father.

"Actually happens more than you think. Chlamydia, syphilis, on the rise in people over 65." Eddie told them as Savanna gave him an amused look still walking in front of him.

"When I went off to college, you gave me a can of mace and a box of cоndоm. Told me to always protect myself. So what the hell, Dad?" His daughter called him out.

"What do you mean you got cоndоm? I just got the mace." Dave told her.

"I didn't think anybody'd have you." Savanna's jaw dropped as she looked at Hen, both women holding in laughter.

"Oh, well, someone's clearly been having you. Who is she?" Dave questioned.

"She is none of your damn business." Jack told him smugly.

"Okay, sir, you're not required to tell us, but you do have to tell them at the hospital because she has to start a course of antibiotics immediately." Bobby told him as they sat him in a stretcher chair.

"Um, everyone? My father, Jack here, has a flesh-eating STD.So whomever he's been sleeping with should come to the hospital with us for immediate treatment. Hm?" Dave announced to the whole common room where everyone sat.

A woman in the far back stood up, "Okay, ma'am, please come with us." Bobby waved her over.

Several more women stood up then a man. "Oh." Savanna mumbled, eyeing Hen and Chimney.

"What if you slept with one of the women that he slept with?" The man asked them.

"You should probably get that checked out too." Eddie slightly tried to hide his laughter. The whole room was standing at this point.

"What kind of a place is this?" Dave stuttered, "I can't even be with you! You're supposed to be a role model." His kids stormed off.

"He is to some people." Chimney said softly, causing Jack to laugh "Kids today." Eddie chuckled.

The 118 climbed back into the truck, all of them bursting into laughter.

•••

Savanna stood at the island in the firehouse kitchen chopping Carrots in between Eddie who was cutting peppers and Chimney who was tearing lettuce. On the other side of the island was Bobby who was mixing something on the stove and Hen was cutting green onions. Bobby just finished telling them how it went when he told Buck he was put on light duty. "Maddie said Buck hasn't left the apartment in a week. Yeah, she's tried to get him to go out a couple times, but it's always, 'Why would I need to leave? Everyone delivers." Chimney told them.

"He won't even take my calls." Bobby said he was trying to act calm but it was obvious he was worried for the youngest member of their team.

"He's just sulking, Cap. He'll get over it." Eddie shrugged putting the cut up peppers into the bowl.

"Hey." Hen warned.

"I like to give Buck crap as much as any of you look, but this was a body blow, guys. The guy's allowed some time to mourn." Savanna defended him.

"The question is how much time. I mean, his daily routine of walking from the bed to the couch and back again. That's not gonna help the situation." Chimney told them.

"Look, I know it sucks, but that's life, right? Whenever stuff didn't work out for me, my dad always told me to brush it off, keep moving forward. It wasn't easy but he wasn't wrong." Eddie shrugged as Savanna sighed.

"But forward to what? I mean, we all had lives, jobs before we entered the Department. and we have things outside of it. What... What does Buck have?" Savanna thought about Hen words she couldn't help but think the word applied to her too and suddenly a wave of sadness fell over her. She had nothing to go home to at the end of the day. Nova and an empty house, a silent house suddenly dread filled Savanna.

"Buck has us. Even though he may not believe that right now." Savanna let out a small huff as she finished cutting the carrots she walked away silently ignoring the confused and worried stares of her teams following her

Savanna laid on her bed in the sleeping quarters staring blankly at the ceiling, her hands grasped together over her stomach. A dip in the bed drew Savanna out of her racing thoughts, snapping her head towards Eddie who sat on the side of her bed at her hip. "You wanna talk about the sudden change in emotions?" Eddie queries.

Savanna let out an exaggerated sigh looking at Eddie still laying down, "It's what Hen said about but not having anything I guess it just hit a little close to home." Savanna told him, giving him a soft smile.

Eddie's eyebrows frowned as reached down, pushing some hair out of Savanna's hair, "Savanna, you don't not have anything. You have Me, and Chris, and Carter, and Bobby, and Athena-"

Savanna cut Eddie off with a small laugh, "Yes, yes, all of that but i'm Twenty-Seven years old almost twenty-eight and i haven't done anything in life... I haven't even dated someone since I was twenty-five." Savanna ranted, "I'm gonna die alone." She finally declared throwing her hands up dramatically.

Eddie laughed, shaking his head, "You are not going to die alone Bella." Eddie soothed. (Beautiful)

"You will never die alone as long as I'm around." Eddie told her.

"Promise you'll outlive me then?" Savanna held her pinky out for Eddie.

"Promise." He linked their pinkie fingers a cheesy smiles falling on both of their faces.

"Engine 118, ambulance 118 newborn infants in respiratory distress." The smiles on both of their faces drop as they rush off to the engine.

•••

Arriving on sight Savanna was the first one to the Baby which Athena was holding using her pointer and Middle finger to do CPR. Chimney quickly took the baby, rushing it off to the NICU. The first responders soon find out that the mother of the child is not actually the mother of said child. "Vitals, blood glucose are normal. No sign of impairment." Hen and Eddie approached Bobby and Savanna; they all now stood in a circle.

"Yeah, whatever's wrong with that lady, we don't have a test for it." Eddie crossed his arms over his chest.

"Okay, well, dispatch said to stay here. It's a critical missing." Bobby told them.

"Or a possible homicide." Eddie countered looking at the women being questioned by Athena.

"Well, Chimney said the baby started to respond when they got to the hospital. So maybe we'll get lucky twice today." Savanna tried to be optimistic.

"Guys possible location Griffith park!" Athena called out to firefighters and paramedics.

•••

Arriving at Griffith park the first responders began their search for Jill, the mother of the newborn baby. "Cap bathrooms are clear." Savana radioed in.

"Copy." Bobby responded back.

"Bobby, there!" Savanna turned her head towards Athena who was pointing to a partially hidden cadillac. Following them Eddie and Bobby use a crowbar to pry the truck open. Savanna's heart stopped seeing a pale woman covered in blood with her stomach cut open.

Savanna quickly checked for a pulse, "I got a pulse, it's weak but there." Savanna announced.

"Alright, let's get her out of there." Bobby and Eddie lift Jill onto the stretcher as Savanna begins to pack the open wound and Hen starts a drip.

"Jill, Jill, are you there? Jill, are you with me? Jill, can you hear me? Jill, please respond." Maddie's voice continued to call out for Jill on the other side of the phone.

"Maddie." Athena spoke, picking the phone up in front of the trunk.

"Athena, is she..."

"Alive. She's alive." Athena told them.

"She's ready to go cap." Savanna told Bobby. "Alright let's move." Bobby swirled his pointer finger in the air as they all began to move.

•••

Savanna sighed as her knuckles rapidly tapped on the door. Waiting a few seconds with no answer savanna huffed pulling out her keys she stuck the key into the front door lock letting herself in. "Evan! I know you're here Maddie says you never leave!" Savanna tossed her keys on the island.

"Buck." Savanna called walking into the living room she saw buck laid on the coach pouting. Wordlessly Savanna walked over to the coach tapping Buck's head he lifted it enough for her to sit down before laying it back down in her lap.

"This isn't healthy Buck, all of this isn't going to help you in the end. Sitting on the coach and moping is not going to get you back in full health. Here's a harsh dose of reality Buck and only cause I love you. If the party was a call the other night we would have had not one emergency but two and what if we were in the middle of a fire you not only put yourself in danger but the rest of us. Evan we could never replace you at 118 so stop worrying about that worry about getting better so you can come back to us." Savanna told him firmly. Buck was silent for a moment as he just stared at the TV and Savanna was almost convinced her words fell on deaf ears.

"One more day." Buck told her.

"One more day." Savanna confirmed with a nod as she settled in for a movie.

•••

Savanna sat on the Buck coach with Chris the next morning, both of them waiting for Buck who Eddie had gone off to wake up. "Well, the point is, your life isn't over just because you're not a firefighter." Eddie told Buck who was walking down the stairs.

"Says the firefighter." Buck shot back bitterly.

"You know, that blood clot could've almost killed you. But it didn't. You have your whole life ahead of you, so why don't you just take it as a win and stop feeling sorry for yourself?." Buck huffed, turning to go back upstairs.

"Hey, Buck." Chris spoke, catching Buck's attention.

"Hey, buddy. Uh, what are you doing here?" Buck asked softly, putting on a smile. Savanna smirked at him. Buck was a sucker for Chris and would probably just go off a cliff if it made the kid happy.

"He's hanging out with his Buck today!" Savanna exclaimed, giving Chris a hug as she stood up.

"'Cause we have to go to work today." Eddie informed Buck.

"Where's Carla?" Buck questioned them.

"She went to Morongo." Chris told Buck happily.

"Mm-hmm. So take him out, have some fun. Maybe you'll learn something. He never feels sorry for himself." Eddie told Buck as he and Savanna hurried towards the front door.

"Love you Buck! Love you Chris!" Savanna bid them farewell.

"Love you Savi!" Chris exclaimed at the same time Buck mumbled, "Love you too." Eddie told Chris he loved him and the two were off for work.

"You think it will work?" Savanna questioned as they got onto the elevator.

"If anyone can cheer Buck up it's Chris." Eddie sighed as they both shared a look.
