“What if she does love you?” Luo Ying tilted her head and looked at Sirius.
“What about it? I don’t love her anymore.” Sirius turned his head away. His slightly moist eyes betrayed him.
“Try telling yourself that, not me. If you interfere with the relationship between me and Lu Zhao, I won’t let you off,” Luo Ying said coldly.
“You chased after Lin Su like that before. I don’t believe that any human could turn a one-eighty and fall in love with another man out of the blue. You’re only good to Lu Zhao because of Lu Zhao’s identity, right?” Sirius coldly sized up Luo Ying’s expression, wanting to see the expression of someone who had been exposed.
However, to his disappointment, Luo Ying did not look flustered at all. Her eyes were clear. It anything, there seemed to be a trace of disdain for him.
“Of course not. I don’t need Lu Zhao to provide me with any resources. I really like Lu Zhao,” Luo Ying said lightly.
For some reason, Sirius believed her.
Ever since she jumped off the building, this woman seemed to have changed into a different person. Now, he could almost believe that she liked Lu Zhao.
As his gaze wavered, Luo Ying slowly said, “Su Su is currently overseas. She’s not doing well. But don’t worry, I will help her. But you must know that she does love you. She had to make some hard choices.”
‘How ridiculous. It sounded like a convenient excuse.’
At the thought of this, Sirius laughed coldly. “Stop trying to act all saintly. I don’t care how she’s doing. She discarded me like a toy.”
Sirius had a dangerous glint in his eyes.
That woman had suddenly barged into his life and practically tripped over herself chasing him. All the time, she had said that she would always love him.
For her sake, he defied his parents and even dealt with the person who had betrayed her. In the end, this was what she said.
The person they had been dealing with was the one she really liked. He was just a substitute.
“Do you truly believe that?” Luo Ying asked. “She had said those words to protect you and her family. Now, she’s bearing all the danger upon her very own shoulders.”
“I saved her. Look at what I got in return? She betrayed me and ran off somewhere. Do you think I’ll forgive her?” Sirius said with a smile.
“Save your strength, Luo Ying. You can pull out more of your cards, but it won’t change my mind.” Sirius believed that Luo Ying was just trying to use Su Su against him.
“I’ll never agree with you being with Lu Zhao. I know what kind of person my friend is.” Sirius stood up and prepared to leave.
“I won’t watch Lu Zhao continue like this. I want to save him,” Luo Ying said.
“If you want to save him, then leave him,” Sirius laughed. This woman was truly overestimating herself. She was delusional to think that she could save him by herself.
“Fine, I might as well tell you. Do you know why Lu Zhao went crazy? That old man had said that if he doesn’t ditch you, he won’t tell Lu Zhao about his mother’s whereabouts. So, if you really love Lu Zhao, you must find the resolve to let go of Lu Zhao. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
Luo Ying’s eyes widened.
Old Master Lu actually hated her so much that he even used Lu Zhao’s mother to force Lu Zhao to divorce her.
She was visibly shocked. That was why Lu Zhao had been struggling so much. He had hugged her and told her not to leave because of this.
Sirius was surprised to see her reaction. “You know how important Lu Zhao’s mother is to Lu Zhao. For you, he defied the old man and tried to find his mother’s whereabouts himself.’
“Luo Ying, you’re truly heartless. Do you know that Lu Zhao didn’t even let us tell you about this? He was keeping all this to himself.”
Luo Ying found it incredulous. Why didn’t Lu Zhao tell her that he was facing such a battle alone?
She leaned against the wall and gently pressed her temples.
