I was woken up by a light knock on the door. I forcefully opened my eyes and scanned the room, Claire was nowhere around.
Ughhhh!
I got up from the bed and walk towards the door, when I opened it, it was a smiling Brian greeting me.
"What time is it?" I asked him and let him in.
"I'm early. It's only 11:30 in the morning."
I walk to the bed and lay down again with Brian following me, laying beside me.
"I'm still sleepy." I told him with my eyes close.
"Uhmmm." I heard Brian hum before I drifted back to sleep.
The next time I woke up is because of Claire screaming.
"Wha-What?" I jumped up from the bed when I heard her scream and didn't notice Brian doing the same beside me.
"What is the meaning of this???" Claire still screaming.
"What?"
"What?"
Brian and I said at the same time.
Claire was pointing at both of us with her eyes widened.
"What do you mean, Claire?" It was Brian who recovered quickly.
"You two... You were sleeping together!" She exclaimed.
Brian and I looked at each other, still confused.
"Ohhh, no!!! We just fell asleep, nothing happened!" My eyes were now wide realizing what Claire was talking about and Brian agreed.
"Yes, Claire. Nothing happened, we fell asleep and I didn't realize it but just now!" Brian scoot away a little bit from me. His face was flustered, even his ears. He was shy even more than me and I am the girl.
"Whew! Okay! Okay!" Claire dramatically sighed."
"I'm gonna go up to my room and wash up." Brian hurriedly left without looking back. He's still shy.
I lie down again and had my lower arms on my forehead and eyes. I think my head hurts because of getting up so quickly.
"So... You and Brian." Claire started while sitting beside me.
I removed my lower arms from my face and looked at her wondering.
"What?" I asked her.
"Well, you slept together. Not that kind but you know, it was sweet."
I sat up on the bed, leveling with her.
"Do not go there, Claire. We're never gonna happen." I told her firmly.
"Why not? You've gotten very close now, right?"
"Yeah, we are. But you know that I have feelings for somebody else." Remembering Alex made my mood down.
"I don't know exactly the deal between you and your Boss, but I saw her just now with that actor we met at Brian's party." Claire's eyes found mine.
"I know, we saw them too at breakfast."
"You know, this is the part where you tell me now what is the deal between you and your Boss." Claire joked.
I thought I will hesitate to tell her everything but then I found myself confiding in her not leaving any details out, even the one I agreed with Brian.
"Wow!" She uttered after.
"I mean, Brian really suggested that?" She continued and I nodded.
"Wow, really, wow! He is madly in love with you, why is he helping you with this?" I could hear the surprise in her voice.
"I know, and I had the same reaction as yours." I second her.
"And the nerve with that girl! After she led you on, she'll throw you like you're a piece of garbage, That bitch!" Claire's face held so much anger toward Alex. I can't blame her as I felt the same at first but eventually, it was just pure pain, a never-ending pain.
"Just, let it go. It's fine." Trying to console her.
"That is not fine! You know, I am now with Brian on this." I chuckled at her reaction as I find it a bit childish.
"I'm gonna wash up, join us for lunch?" I told her as I stood up. After she nodded, I walk towards the bathroom.
It was a relief telling my best friend about my heartache, I felt like a thorn has been pulled out of my chest and it felt really good.
I took a half bath, changed my clothes then Claire followed and did the same.
As soon as Claire is ready, I dialed Brian's number.
"Hey, are you picking us up or we meet outside?" I told on the other line.
"I'm on my way down, wait there."
I hang up the phone.
Not long when we heard him knocking on the door.
Claire and I greeted him as we opened the door. We all proceeded to go down and out of the hotel while Brian's arm was on my shoulder which earned a giggle from Claire, we just both discarded it.
As we approached the cottage where the lunch is being held, a lot of people were already in it.
The setup was actually, several cottages next to each other then tables and chairs arranged just outside of it.
As usual, all eyes were on us. Others are judging, others are just envious.
Alex and Daniel were nowhere in sight, probably still cuddling in their room. That thought made my heart sink into the pit of my stomach.
The food was again set up as a buffet.
"Hi, Mr. Thompson." I heard some girls greet him giggling.
"Hey, Brian." Some executives greeted him as well.
Brian politely greeted them back without detaching his arm from my shoulder and even shook some executive's hands.
Being a gentleman himself, he took a plate for me and put food in it depending on what I told him I like.
We all agreed to sit by the railing of the cottage where the beach was overlooking.
I took a minute to appreciate god's creation before my eyes. It was really beautiful and the place was so serene. I can't wait to see it on a sunset. It must be nice to see it with someone you love.

I smiled bitterly and remembered, she might not want to see it with me.
"Hey, you okay?" Brian tapped my back.
"Y-Yeah, yeah, of course."
Claire was also looking at me worriedly.
"You sure?" She asked.
I chuckled at both of them.
"I'm fine, guys. I was just... admiring the view."
"There will be a live band later tonight, we should all go." Brian suggested.
"... And, we should drink and get drunk and forget everything." Claire added.
"Don't you remember the last time I got drunk? It didn't go well, so I'd say, no." I joked with her.
"Oh, come on, girl!" She said almost sulking.
I looked at Brian who was watching us amused. I raised my brow at him, smiling though.
"What? I'm drinking, but not getting drunk. Sorry, Claire."
"See?" I turned my gaze to Claire.
"Ok, fine. Just drinking not getting drunk." She said frowning.
From time to time I will scan the area looking for a certain brown-eyed girl but will be disappointed. For the whole lunchtime, she and her Boyfriend were a no-show.
"What should we do?" Claire asked us both after lunch. We were already walking out of the cottage with no destination in mind.
"I think it was too hot to go for a dip, don't you think?" I looked at my wristwatch, it was only a little after one in the afternoon.
"Yeah, I'm actually thinking of going back to my room and getting some more sleep. Unlike others, Cara and I did not get much sleep on our way here."
Claire sneered at Brian's mischievous face as I chuckled at both of them, then a thought came to my head.
They look actually cute together, what if...
"Fine! Let's go back and rest!" Claire marched inside the hotel leaving me and Brian laughing at her tantrums.
