"You think you can pick me up from the airport today?" I ask.
"What?" Hailee asks.
"I'm moving to California because I should be with my family." I say.
Hailee smiles and nods.
"What time?" Hailee asks.
"10:30 AM." I say.
"Sorry, I can't. Nate has a doctor appointment at 10:15." Hailee says.
"I'll tell Griffin to get you but I'm so happy you're coming home." Hailee says.
I smile and nod.
"You're still 5Star, right?" Hailee asks.
"Yeah, they're gonna ship my computer and all my stuff." I say.
"Okay." Hailee says.
Time Skip
"Welcome back to California." Griffin says as I get in the passenger seat.
"Heard you're here to stay now." Griffin says.
"Yeah." I say.
"Congratulations on your success. 3 number ones." Griffin says.
"Can't wait for the breakup songs." Griffin says.
I laugh and he smiles.
2 hours later...
The door opens and Hailee comes in with Nate.
Nate runs to me and hugs me.
"Miss you." Nate says.
"I missed you too." I say smiling.
Hailee smiles and kisses me.
"How was your flight?" Hailee asks hugging me.
"It was good." I say.
"Game!" Nate says.
Hailee hands Nate her phone and he smiles.
"We gotta buy that kid an iPad." I say.
"We're not spoiling him." Hailee says.
"He's playing Angry Birds on your iPhone 14 Pro Max in this big ass house. He's already spoiled." I say.
Hailee laughs and I smile.
"I'm a little disappointed." I say.
"Why?" She asks.
"Now we have to wait longer." I say pointing at Nate.
"It'll happen eventually, baby." She says.
I nod and she kisses my cheek.
Time Skip
"I have been invited." I say.
"To what?" Hailee asks.
"Every year everyone in 5Star goes on a vacation. I have been invited go to Hawaii with them." I say.
"Go and have fun, baby. We'll be fine." Hailee says.
"Oh, sorry. We have been invited, all 3 of us." I say.
"I don't know..." Hailee says.
"It'll be fun. You've been working on stuff, I've been working on stuff. It'll be fun to go on a little getaway." I say.
"Getaway..." I mumble.
"Just let know, we could escape. I wanna be your getaway." I sing.
"I'm stealing that." She says.
"I'll sue your ass first." I say.
"You're gonna take me to court?" She asks.
"Your honor, she stole from a small artist because her career is flopping. I will struggle to feed my 2-year-old from loss wages." I say.
"You're full of shit." She says laughing.
"He'd believe it though." I say.
Time Skip
"He looks just like you." Ellie says.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd think you gave birth to him." Ellie says picking Nate up.
"I'm not in the mood for your BS." I say as Hailee laughs.
"So who pays for all this stuff?" Hailee asks.
"Well, we do. Chase looks at the numbers and gives us a budget. Last year, we blew like 100k for 6 of us to go to Bora Bora." Ellie says.
"Shit, I'd wanna be 5Star too." Hailee says.
We laugh and she smiles. I see Max on his phone and I smile.
"Maxy Waxy!" I shout making him look up.
Max smiles and walks over. He hugs me and I smile.
"How are you?" I ask.
"I'm good." Max says.
Max never moved to Florida like the rest of us, he stayed in Jersey. I haven't seen him since the trip last year.
"This your girlfriend?" Max asks.
"Mhm." I say.
"Nice to meet you." Max says as Hailee shakes his hand.
"I heard that you do all the hard work." Hailee says.
"Yep, she just sits there and watches me." Max says.
Hailee laughs and I roll my eyes.
"Y/n, I didn't even know you were pregnant." Max says as Ellie hands Nate to him.
"Kid looks just like you." Max says.
"That's what I said!" Ellie says.
"We're not doing this right now." I say.
Time Skip
"You still a girl?" Max asks.
"What the fuck?!" I ask laughing.
"Not like that. Like, you said you were a virgin. Have you become a woman yet?" Max says.
"No, I said I wanted to wait a little longer and then we got Nate and he refuses to be left alone for more than 30 seconds. Kid tries to follow me in the bathroom." I say.
"How about we take him to the beach and y'all can have some alone time?" Max asks.
"Are you gonna drown my kid?" I ask.
"If I wanted to drown him I wouldn't tell you where I would take him." Max says.
"I don't know you're a dumbass." I say.
He rolls his eyes and I laugh.
"Okay." I say.
"You know how to swim?" I ask.
"Yeah." He says.
"I didn't know that." I say.
"There you go with that stereotypical shit. Some black people know how to swim. I happen to be one of them." He says.
"I didn't-" I say.
"How would you feel if I assumed every lesbian has watched Orange is The New Black at least once?" He asks.
"You would be right." I say.
"Actually, the only reason I can swim is because I'm a light skin." He says.
We both laugh and smile.
"I'll go get Nate." I say getting up.
I go down the hall and see Hailee and Nate sitting on the couch.
"Hey, baby." Hailee says.
"Max wants to take Nate to the beach." I say.
"Why?" Hailee asks.
We stare at each other for a few seconds and she nods.
"Okay." Hailee says smiling.
"You wanna go swim with uncle Max?" Hailee asks.
"Sweem!" Nate says.
Max's View; 15 minutes later...
"Y'all have fun." Ellie says.
Y/n rolls her eyes and I laugh. I pick Nate up and we leave.
"You ready to go swim?" Ellie asks.
"Sweem!" Nate says.
Ellie laughs and I smile.
