The morning sun slowly crept through the bedroom window in Ash's home, hitting the young man's bed where Pikachu cuddled up next to him. The warm light hit the electric Pokémon and young man in the eyes. The yellow mouse was irritated by the light, slowly opening his eyes, and letting out a Pikaaa... yawning. Pikachu slowly got to his feet and made a small leap off the bed and onto a small desk. He made another stretch, and afterward turned his gaze toward his trainer who was unconscious. The Pokémon sighed before making another leap off the desk and onto the floor.

A few moments passed and Ash didn't show a sign of getting up. The only signs of movement that occurred was when he rolled over, which only confused Pikachu and Delia even more. He had been out cold since that Spinarak bit his hand, and they had no idea why that happened. Sure, they were poisonous, but the small bug type was known to not be dangerous, or at least as dangerous as its evolved form.

The electric Pokémon turned around, but before he could leave the bedroom, he heard Ash let out a yawn, which caused him to squeak with relief. The Alolan champion looked like he couldn't even breathe when he fell unconscious which scared the pokemon and his mother. He didn't yawn, snore, or even toss his clock to the wall. Pikachu looked at his trainer, and saw him moving his arm upward.

He was awake.

At that moment, the young champion slowly got up and let out another short yawn. The bright morning light filled his blurry vision, as he rubbed his eyes. He felt very tired, but he had enough energy to get out of bed and start his day like he always seemed to. Pikachu crawled up the short ladder onto Ash's leg and gave him a nice lick on his cheek. The Pokémon trainer laughed and glanced at his longtime friend and partner. The Pokémon trainer fully opened his eyes upon feeling his partner nuzzle him affectionately.

"Hey, buddy!" Ash said and hugged the electric mouse.

Pikachu squeaked happily seeing his best friend and trainer being awake and seemingly feeling better from that bite. Ash rubbed his hand across Pikachu's head up and down, which caused the electric Pokémon to squeal in delight.

He soon got out of bed, but something felt a little different today for the trainer. He felt better than he did before he got bitten by that strange Spinarak, but also, felt a little taller as well. He soon took off his jacket and T-shirt and saw something even weirder to him in the mirror by his dresser. To him and Pikachu's surprise, Ash had looked more muscular than usual, which made the trainer puzzled. Sure, he was healthy for his age, but he didn't ever try to work out. He now had visible abs across his chest, and his arms and legs widened by half an inch or two. Pikachu arched an eyebrow, just as confused as his trainer was.

He had spent the last six months training hard to defend his championship title, but it wasn't anything crazy. The only sort of exercise he normally did was running, and simple push ups, and even then, it was a stretch. Most of the time, he was simply training his Pokemon, namely his Charizard and Sceptile.

Was he sleepwalking? Maybe his travels got him stronger than he thought? The champion wasn't sure,

but his mind was quickly interrupted by something.

The young man blinked before he glanced to his alarm clock.

"What time is it?!"

Ash hurried and got dressed, haphazardly throwing on a blue and white jacket, with a black, red spiked, T-shirt underneath. Along with that, he wore a clean pair of jeans, white and red lace-less sneakers and as usual, black fingerless gloves with red cuffs. His left glove also contained a silver stone on it, which was commonly known as a keystone. Lastly, he donned a red cap that he got from Professor Kukui before he went back to Kanto.

The young man rushed down the hall and through the stairs to the living room, stopping right in front of the couch. He panted, while over in the kitchen, his mother, Delia overheard someone running down the stairs and went to see what was going on and saw him wide and awake. Immediately, his mother's eyes went wide and quickly charged into and squeezed him with a big hug.

"Oh, Ash. Thank goodness you're okay!" Delia said, letting out a sigh of relief.

Ash returned the hug, but he struggled to breathe. Despite that, Ash loved being squeezed by his mother tightly. Ash loved his mother dearly, as much as he loved Pokémon, even if he hadn't seen her much since he was ten. Despite that, the young champion would go to the ends of the earth to make sure she and everyone else he's befriended is okay.

Ash broke the hug and looked at Delia puzzled.

"Mom, it's okay. I was just tired, that's all," he said.

The young trainer's mother blinked and gazed at her son just as puzzled as he was.

"J... Just tired?!" Delia spoke in shock, "Ash, you've been asleep for two days!"

"WHAT?!" The trainer's eyes went wide. He slightly backed up, completely surprised that he was out for that long. Two days?! He thought. That bite couldn't have put me out for that long. Crud...

"You heard me, young man. Now, care to explain how that happened?"

Ash flinched and lowered his cap slightly and sweat dropped. He knew he couldn't lie to his mother, but at the same time, he knew she would be extremely worried. However, it was Ash, so she would be worried about him no matter what. That was something he knew deep down from the day he wanted to become a Pokémon Master. He closed his eyes and took a short deep breath before glancing back toward her and opened his mouth.

"Well," he began, "I was battling Brock again, and when I was walking home, I got bit by a Spinarak."

Delia gasped and grabbed Ash's hand with a squeeze and tried to examine it. She took off Ash's mega glove and saw the bite marks left by the bug type. Ash sweat dropped even more, while Delia glanced back to her son, and peered at him directly in the eyes.

"Ash, do you know how poisonous those things are supposed to be?!" She asked. "People have gotten sick and even died after being bitten by one..."

At that moment, Ash and Pikachu felt shivers run up their spines.

"Mom, don't worry, I'm okay," Ash said. "I feel better, really."

Delia wasn't sure if she should trust her son's judgment or not. He may have been through a lot on his various adventures around the world, but she couldn't help but feel concerned for him after that bite. She may not have seen it happen, but he fell unconscious and didn't look like he was going to get up, possibly ever. Thankfully, he always made it back home in one piece and then he finally woke up.

Just then, Delia and Ash were interrupted by a knock on their door. The young man arched an eyebrow, and he looked to Pikachu who gave him a shrug on his shoulders, just as clueless as he was. Delia on the other hand turned her eyes to the door, then back to Ash. She had her usual smile, and had an idea of who it was, which only made her feel happier.

"I'll get it," she said.

She went over to the door, and upon opening it, she saw a man which caused her to smile. Ash on the other hand was completely puzzled by what was happening. A short moment later, and his mother let the man inside their home. He turned and gave his mother roses, which made her blush and accepted them with a huge grin on her face. Ash and Pikachu were even more confused by that as a result.

The man looked about his mother's age, maybe a year older. He had dark brown hair, and brown eyes to match. He wore a dark blue jacket, a plain pink T-shirt, and wore some nice jeans and black and white sneakers. Ash was confused by this person's sudden appearance, and even more to why his mother seemed so flustered by the flowers he gave her. He had one idea as to what might be going on, but he didn't want to interrupt anything, so he just kept his mouth shut.

The man turned his glance to find the young champion standing in the middle of the living room with his Pikachu and looked completely clueless. The man walked up to the two with a smile, before he opened his mouth.

"So, you're the famous Ash?" He asked.

"Uh... Yeah?" He replied.

The man's smile grew, and he raised his hand toward him.

"Peter Parker," he said with a kind smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Ash smiled and accepted Peter's squeeze. Peter winced in pain after shaking the trainer's hand after a few seconds.

"Are you okay?" Delia noticed him feeling some pain.

Peter nodded and looked to Ash with his eyes slightly widened.

"Woah, that's one heck of a grip!" Peter said.

Delia and Ash both looked completely confused. Ash was sure that was shaking the older man's hand like he usually did.

"Oh," The Alolan champion quickly let go of Peter's hand, "Um... Sorry."

"No, no, it's okay," Peter said, "I was just surprised, that's all."

Ash nodded, relieved. He glanced at his hand, still puzzled. He had strength sure, but something felt a bit... off. He felt stronger than ever before. It could explain why he was more muscular when he awoke, but even though he knew he wasn't an expert on science. Even if he found most of it to be amazing.

The young trainer, however, thought the conversation shouldn't be any more awkward, so he took a deep breath before he spoke.

"Okay, let's start over. It's a pleasure to meet you too. I'm Ash," the young man said. "And this is my partner, Pikachu!"

The electric mouse introduced himself with a proud pose with a happy "Pikachu!" following suit. Peter chuckled, and raised a finger, to which the Pokémon accepted, shaking his paw. Ash smiled, but he couldn't help but remember the day they met. It was a bit ironic that Pikachu hated him at first but quickly got along with everyone that they've met. Sure, he electrocuted everyone, and destroyed a lot of bikes, but apart from that, they were accidents.

Delia watched the two shaking hands, and it made her smile.

"So, what brings you here this morning, Peter?" The woman asked.

"What? I'm not allowed to visit you?" Peter joked.

That remark made Ash and Pikachu look at each other for a second time. There was clearly something up with them. The two didn't notice that his mother looked away with some red on her cheeks. Peter smiled as he looked at her, and noticed she was as red as the roses in her hands.

"Um... Am I missing something?" Ash asked, completely confused.

Pikachu let out a long sigh and facepalmed. Peter and Delia soon turned to the young man, and then back to each other, with a hint of red on the older man's face. Ash's mother, however, got out of her trance and chuckled. She may have wished this was under better circumstances, but better to tell him now than never.

"Well, you see, Ash..." She began. "He's... My fiancé."

Ash and Pikachu's eyes went wide, and their mouths felt like they dropped to the floor.

"WHAT?!?!" "PIKA?!?!?"

Delia and Peter were amused by their reaction.

"How?! Why?! When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me?!" Ash shifted his head towards her.

Ash's mother set down the flowers before looking at her son.

"Ash, as much as I loved your father, we all must move on eventually. I know this is very confusing, but Peter and I are happy together."

Ash looked down, deep in thought about it. He understood that his mother had a life of her own, and was glad to know she is happy, but at the same time, it was a bit of a tough pill to swallow. He may have never known his dad, but his mom had been taking care of him for years with no hint of being in a relationship. Why the sudden change? Whatever the reason, he and Pikachu had to get some explanation for all this.

At that moment, Ash felt his stomach rumbling, which caused him to sweat. An all-too-familiar feeling to everyone that he knew. Delia rolled her eyes.

"Alright, let's discuss this over breakfast," she said.

Delia led the three to a small table in the dining room. There, they saw multiple plates full of delicious pancakes with sausage and scrambled eggs on each side. The aroma alone made Ash and Peter's mouth water, but seeing the food only made them wish there was an all you can eat buffet. Delia walked out of the kitchen and a minute later, returned and set a bowl of Pokémon food down next to Ash. Pikachu jumped off his trainer's shoulder and the young champion quickly got the ketchup bottle and covered Pikachu's breakfast in it, which made the electric mouse grin in joy.

The young champion immediately began to scarf down the food. Delia and Peter chuckled watching him wolf down his breakfast in seconds. Ash's mother grabbed a cup of coffee and took a sip, her eyes shifted toward her fiancé before she opened her mouth.

"So, Peter, why don't you tell Ash why you came to Kanto?" She asked. Ash and Pikachu both glanced to the man, confused. The trainer swallowed the large chunk of sausage that was in his mouth, before he raised his voice.

"You're not from here?" He arched an eyebrow.

The older man set down his cup of joe and looked to both his fiancé and future son in law.

"Nah, I'm from Unova. I... I ended up moving here after a close friend of mine passed away. I couldn't live in my hometown anymore, so I decided to come here and start life anew. I also figured I could use this opportunity to pursue my passion in life."

Delia placed a hand on Peter's shoulder and gave him a warm smile. Peter looked at her and smiled back.

"Soooo..."

Ash didn't know how to word it properly. He understood why anyone would move to a new place and start over after all that. But the question remained to the young man. A moment later, he bit the bullet and asked what was on his mind.

"Soooo... How did you meet my mom?"

Peter laughed.

"You really don't waste any time, do you?"

"Well, I didn't wake up from a long nap only to hear my mom getting engaged," Ash replied.

"Fair enough," Peter said. "Well, as I was saying, I wanted to pursue my dreams, and be a scientist. I ended up trying to get a job at Silph Co, and even Stark Enterprises but they didn't work out. Ultimately, I ended up coming here after hearing that Alchemax just opened a lab here, and thankfully, I got the job. And then, I met your mom soon after, when I went to a café."

Delia smiled and her face turned a bit red as her mind raced with the memory of how they first met.

"But how come I'm only knowing about it now?" Ash asked.

"Well, I wanted to tell you sooner, but when it happened you were off traveling in Kalos," Delia intervened, "And once you came back, you didn't seem to be listening to a word I was saying."

A trickle of sweat ran down the young champion's face and let out an awkward chuckle. He admitted he could have tried to listen to his mother sometimes. However, after everything that occurred in Kalos, nothing could have distracted him, especially what happened at the airport.

Then, his mind jumped right back to those final moments with his friends from the region, namely one who left him a particular gift as her way of saying thanks.

"You are my goal!" The line that was particularly stuck to his mind.

"Ash..." The voice echoed in his mind. Soon, Ash's cheeks began to turn a shade of red. For some reason, hearing that voice again made him feel happy. But then...

"Ash?"

At that moment, the young man blinked and returned to reality. His mom and her fiancé both gazed at him, concerned.

"W-What?" Ash arched an eyebrow, completely clueless.

"Did you hear a word we said?" Peter arched an eyebrow.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I?"

"Well, you looked like something was on your mind."

Ash looked away, and tilted his hat downward, somewhat embarrassed. He looked back to the older couple, and let out a sigh,

"It's complicated."

The two nodded.

"Sure, it is," Delia remarked. She looked at her fiancé, having a pretty good idea about what was on his mind. Peter looked back to the woman and a sly smirk appeared across his lips.

"Knock it off," Ash demanded.

The electric mouse laughed, which made his trainer give him a glare in annoyance. It was one thing for his mom and her fiancé to make a joke like that, but another for his best friend to find it funny, he thought.

"Laugh it up, fuzzball."

The adults chuckled. However, the young champion's mother quickly realized something important for him.

"When do you plan on getting to Professor Oak's lab, sweetie?" She asked.

Immediately, Ash's eyes went wide. He had always been over there to do some intense training. And now, he's missed two days' worth of hard work. Two days. The Alolan Champion quickly shot up from his chair, and signaled Pikachu to get on his shoulder, to which the electric mouse squeaked in delight. The Pokémon quickly crawled up his arm and sat on his shoulder. A few seconds later, they made a beeline toward the door.

Peter's eyes were wide open, shocked by how fast he was out the door and looked to his fiancé and spoke up.

"Is he always like that?"

Delia smiled and nodded.

"Ever since he was a little boy."

Peter chuckled at her reply. After everything he's seen from the young man, it made sense for him to have always been full of energy. He then gently patted Delia's stomach and grinned at her.

"And hopefully, he'll have a brother or sister that's just as awesome as their big brother," he said.

Delia nodded.

"Well, whatever happens, I couldn't have picked a better father for Ash and our baby," she smiled widely.

Then, the loving couple shared a warm loving kiss on the lips.

The young trainer meanwhile ran through the small pathway to Professor Oak's Lab like he did every day since coming home from Alola. As much as he loved traveling the world, he knew many challengers attempted to get the title he worked so hard for to themselves. After losing many leagues, it meant a lot to the young trainer, and he wasn't going to let it go anytime soon. He may have only been the champion for six months, but it didn't mean keeping the title meant he didn't have to train every day from sunrise to sunset. When they started, it was exhausting thanks to being coached by two gym leaders, now it felt normal for them.

The path to the aging Pokémon professor's laboratory was a bit long on foot. It was on a small hill at the edge of town. It was now also a few blocks away from the Alchemax facility. Kind of fitting. Though, on the other side of Pallet Town was a dense river and a dense forest that barely anyone walked through so maybe it was just a fun coincidence. Ash mused as he ran through his home with his best friend on his shoulder.

However, Ash felt different still. Yet, it was in a good way. Ash dashed through blocks of Pallet Town in what felt like seconds, with the wind rushing past his face. A few pedestrians noticed the young champion and tried to get a photo or two of them. It wasn't every day someone as famous as them would be seen by the residents of Pallet Town, even if they were from there. Most people merely assumed he would be either training or off in another region. Though, they could only get blurry images as he was moving at blazing fast speeds, which stunned and surprised many.

He soon spotted a very familiar large yellow building with a pink roof on top of a hill. Behind the building was a large wind turbine which looked to be on, like always. There was a large staircase that went up the hill and ended at the front gate and a small doorway in front of them. Professor Oak's lab was usually quiet unless it was the day new trainers would get their starter Pokémon.

It always felt nostalgic when the duo returned there. The bright afternoon light, surrounded by trees for blocks on end and the long road that went north outside the town limits. It may not have been the exact day and time they had met, but the two stood in front of the lab, like it was the first day of their journey all over again. Ash and Pikachu smiled seeing the lab from the bottom of the stairs, and they looked to each other with grins.

"You ready for some special training, buddy?"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu pumped his fist into the air, excitedly.

Ash nodded and took another step forward. Suddenly, Ash felt a faint prickle on the back of his neck, and it felt to the young man like every hair just stood up. He stopped in place, and looked around, completely confused by the sudden sensation, but he was still feeling it. It was then that the Alolan champion reached out and grabbed a poke ball, much to his surprise. Pikachu stood speechless, being just as, if not, even more puzzled at his trainer's action than Ash was. The young man looked at the ball and arched a brow.

"What the?" The young champion glanced at his free hand. It was strange. It felt to him like his instincts just took over, and with no hesitation.

Pikachu shrugged his shoulders.

"Sorry!"

Just then, the duo shifted their heads, and saw two young boys standing across from them. They looked to be ten, and one of them was holding a poke ball, and he even wore the official Pokémon league hat. He wore what looked to the Alolan champion like a T-shirt with his face on it, while the other had a shirt with a man covered head to toe in silver armor with a t-shaped visor and a green humanoid creature with pointy ears.

The two boys stood nervously watching the duo just staring at them, which made Ash and Pikachu feel a bit sad. They may be famous, but that didn't mean they liked being treated like celebrities all the time. The cons of being a regional champion, he thought to himself. He sighed but let out a chuckle, tossing the ball into the air playfully.

"Don't sweat it," he said while walking toward the two. "I should be sorry that I got in you guys' way."

"N-No no, it's fine! We didn't see that you were coming," One of them explained. He glared toward the other wannabe trainer next to him at the corner of his eye. "Somebody just happened to spot a rattata and thought I should grab it."

"How was I supposed to know THE Ash Ketchum was gonna be here today?!" The other boy gritted his teeth.

The two fledgling trainers turned to each other, giving glaring eyes, and clenched fists.

"I don't know because he was standing right there?!" The boy with the league hat said.

Just then, the Alolan champion stepped between the two, and gave both looks that froze them in fear. To them, it felt like Ash stared into their souls and was disappointed.

"Relax, guys. I just didn't see you trying to catch a Pokémon," Ash glanced at the boy that threw the ball and gave a smile. "So, why don't you tell me your names?"

"I-I'm Clark," he said, "And he's Bruce."

Ash smiled.

"Alright, but maybe a word of advice: maybe try working on your throws," he said. "Don't get me wrong, I've failed at catching Pokémon before, but you're catching a partner, not playing baseball."

Clark nodded with a smile.

"You've got a lot of promise, and I hope you and your friend here make it to the Pokémon league. Maybe we could battle one day."

At that moment, both Bruce and Clark's eyes went wide with pure joy. It meant a lot to the two friends that someone with as much recognition around the world as Ash Ketchum would say such a thing.

Ash presented the pokeball Clark threw, signaling him to take it. The fledgling trainer grabbed it, but for some reason, it didn't budge. The two young boys looked to the alolan champion, completely clueless. Ash and Pikachu just looked dumbfounded at the two.

"Uh... It's yours, isn't it?" Ash asked.

Clark nodded and grabbed the ball again. He tried getting it off of his hand, but the ball just wouldn't budge, like his hand was glued to it. Ash looked to the electric Pokémon sitting on his shoulder, and he merely shrugged. Ash then grabbed the ball, and tried to get it out of his hand, but like Clark's attempt, it failed. It was mysteriously stuck on his palm. But he playfully tossed it up in the air a minute ago. What was up with this? Whatever the reason possibly was didn't matter. He pulled the ball upward, and both boys saw he was beginning to dent it.

"Uh, sir...?"

Bruce was cut off, mid-sentence as Ash suddenly ripped the top part of the ball off, causing the ball to spark. Just then, both ends fell off his palms, and the Alolan champion shifted his hat downward, feeling bad.

"Sorry," he said.

"No no no! It's fine! I-I needed to go to the poke-mart anyway," Clark nodded.

The two quickly walked away, which made Ash feel ashamed of himself. He let out a sigh and put his head down. Pikachu however didn't want to see his trainer and best friend feel upset, so he nuzzled Ash's cheek lovingly, which made the trainer laugh.

"Thanks, bud."

Pikachu squeaked with a smile.

"And here I thought you couldn't get any more unpredictable."

Upon hearing the very familiar voice, Ash turned his head and found someone standing behind him and rolled his eyes. He had known the young man his entire life, having been friends and rivals on their adventures through Kanto. He had spiky brown hair that went just about all over the place, and brown eyes to match. He wore a nice black collared shirt, purple jeans, and black and white sneakers. He also had a gray backpack and wore a somewhat large wrist band that looked to contain a mega stone. His name was Gary, the grandson of Professor Oak, and an aspiring Pokémon researcher in his own right. And as usual, he had a cocky smirk plastered on his face.

"Yeah, yeah, very funny," Ash said.

"Hey, c'mon, Ashy boy, I mean that as a compliment," the young researcher replied. "First you finally win a league, and now you're breaking poke balls. Guess you're real desperate to hold onto that title."

Ash turned around and faced his old friend, eye to eye with a little bit of a frown.

"I'm not desperate!"

"Sheesh, man, I'm just kidding, relax," Gary said. "Though, given how much you've lost before, I could see it."

The Alolan champion rolled his eyes once again.

"Yeah, very funny."

"I'm serious. You've been training nonstop to defend that title of yours, and now breaking poke balls just screams 'I'm Ash, and I'm not letting anyone get my title!'." Gary laughed.

"The ball was an accident," Ash replied. "I don't even know why that happened."

"You broke a pokeball and don't even know how?" The up-and-coming researcher arched an eyebrow, confused. "How's that even possible?"

"I don't know. Just for some reason, the ball was stuck to my hand like it was glued," the champion explained. "But the weirdest part was that I tossed it up a minute before and it didn't stick then."

"Okay, that is very weird."

"Yeah. And before that, I felt some weird tingle like thing on the back of my neck."

Gary did not know how to respond to all that. He could easily tell that Ash wasn't joking, and if he was, he was pretty good at playing serious. Though, the young champion wasn't one to simply lie to friends, especially after setting out on his journey with Pikachu.

"When did this start happening?" asked Gary.

"Just now," Ash answered.

"You think you should see someone about this?"

Ash took a moment to think about it. Any kind of expertise would be very beneficial, he knew, but he wasn't sure given he doesn't truly know what is going on. For all he could think, no one could understand what was going on. But the young champion had to get an idea at least. He nodded, and Gary turned, leading him into the lab.

Ash laid on a bed, while Gary and his aging grandfather and an assistant began doing some X-Rays, monitoring his vitals. Pikachu sat on a table and glanced at the machines showing a model of the trainer's body on the computer. The electric mouse looked at his trainer with concern, but Ash gave him a smile, signaling that he'll be okay. At least, he hoped he would be.

The aging professor and his assistant saw the young man's vital signs being completely fine. In fact, they seem to be higher than ever before, which made everyone puzzled. There didn't seem to be any issues with Ash's health, but in fact, it seemed to be the opposite. The three were completely confused. How could a bite that knocked the young man out cold make him healthier?

Soon, Ash was allowed to get up, and Gary turned to him.

"Well, guys. What do the tests show?" Ash asked.

Samuel looked back to the results before turning his gaze at the young Alolan champion.

"It's... I'm not sure," he answered. "This has never happened before, and I'm not even sure the top biologists in the world could tell what happened."

Ash's eyes went wide.

"So... You don't know what's happening to me?"

Samuel Oak sighed.

"Yes. I'm sorry, Ash," he frowned. "However, I won't stop trying to figure this out. I'll let some friends who know more about the human body than I do look at this."

Ash nodded.

"Right. Thanks, Professor."

Samuel smiled.

"Don't thank me yet. We still don't know if this could be the beginning of something incredible or disastrous," he then began to think. "Though, we're going to need a blood sample to help figure out what's going on with you, if that's okay."

Ash nodded in approval.

Soon, the assistant quickly got a needle, and began to lower it on the young trainer's arm. There was a little bit of trouble though for the scientists. Ash's skin seemed to be a lot stronger, and even bent the end of the needle, which meant they had to get another one. Minutes had passed, and the assistant gulped upon lowering the needle to Ash's arm. The needle soon entered the vein and slowly sucked up a tiny amount of blood. Ash winced in pain, but he managed to get over it quickly.

"We'll get this to Doctor Connors as soon as possible," the assistant said.

"Doctor Connors?" The young trainer asked.

"Pika?"

"He's a friend of mine and knows human biology more than anyone I've ever met," Gary answered. "Met him in Unova a while back."

"Oh," Ash nodded.

"I'd recommend you go home and take it easy for now. We'll let you know if we find anything," Samuel insisted. Ash once again nodded in agreement and so, he and his partner set off. He would have argued that he'd miss three days of training, but he knew his health mattered more than a simple title.

The young trainer looked at his hands yet again, with the same thought on his mind. What is happening to him?

XXX

It was late at night and Ash laid in his bed staring straight at the ceiling. He couldn't get any sleep as his mind was racing with thoughts about everything that had happened earlier. What the heck was happening? First a weird Spinarak bit him, then he ended up nearly breaking Peter's hand, and a pokeball. Thoughts raced through his mind wondering how all this happened. Why him?

Then, he tried to think back to what happened. He saw a Spinarak biting his hand, but it didn't look like a normal one from what he had seen. It had the same colors, but on its back, instead of the dark blue circles, it had something else on it. It had red markings labeled sixty-two and above it, read what looked like an R or something. He only really saw the face and its legs and more importantly, the fangs that bit down on his hand.

Ash rolled to the side and scratched his head.

"What was with that Spinarak?" he asked himself.

Thoughts raced through his mind, with the memory playing repeatedly. Why was a spinarak in Kanto? And why did it have those numbers on it? He rolled over a few times, trying to think of the best answer for his questions. Soon, he rolled over, and lay on his back, gazing at the ceiling.

Man, first I feel awesome, then that weird tingle, then I get sticky hands and break a poke ball... he thought. Then, a light bulb flashed in his head. Wait... could it have been that spinarak? No no no, Ash. This isn't a comic book. Pancake syrup? Maybe.

Despite the whacky thought, Ash was eager to test his theory if it was the result of that Pokémon biting him or not. He soon quietly got up out of bed, trying his best to not wake up his partner Pokémon. Upon placing his feet onto the ground, he looked at his hands again.

Okay, let's see if these sticky hands weren't just from those pancakes.

Ash placed his right hand on the wall with his left foot following. To the young man's surprise, his foot immediately clung to the wall. Then he placed his other hand and began to scale up the wall, and his eyes were wide, and mouth opened trying to hold in a gasp. He continued to climb up his bedroom, and wondered if he could do the same on the ceiling. So, the young champion placed his hands onto the ceiling and to his amazement, he was able to. Ash looked to his hands before he turned to the ground with a gasp.
