Finally, the end of the school day came. Normally the school day would make you forget your personal troubles but for Chun Young, whatever was bothering him didn't go away for the whole day.
"Bro. Why are you glaring forward like that? You're scaring everyone in the halls." Eun Hyung commented on Chun Young.
"It is nothing." Chun Young gave a short answer.
Of course no one bought that but left it alone because he is the type to want to be alone when things are hard.
'I really want to know what is going on ahhhh. The curiosity is killing me!' you thought and tried to think of a way to separate Chun Young from the rest of the group.
'Should I say I left my homework back there? Should I go to the bathroom and take him with me? Should I pretend I got a papercut and go to the Nurse's office?'
"Wow those are all terrible ideas" you mumbled under your breath.
"Huh? what did you say?" Dan I asked.
"Huh? Oh nothing I was just thinking about the homework we got." You lied.
'How am I going to do this? Or should I just call him over the phone?' You were once again lost in thought until your name was called by non-other than Chun Young himself.
"Soo Ah"
Everyone snapped their heads around at his words.
"Yeah?" Everybody's heads are turning from you to him.
"Can I .. talk to you alone?" He approached carefully closer to you.
Backing up a little, you laughed off the heavy atmosphere. He noticed you backing away and stopped walking.
"Oh, yeah of course." You grabbed his hand and started walking the other direction.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow! Get home safe everyone! Me and my bestie are going to talk!" you waved.
'I guess I didn't need any excuse to get him away from the group.'
You do admit this is extremely weird behavior even for Chun Young. The group definitely also finds this weird. The fact that he chose to talk to you privately when nobody knew what was going on was very odd.
'oh god what is happening to me' you fake cried.
"This, is far enough." Chun Young, who you were still pulling by the hand suddenly spoke up.
You finally snapped out of your thoughts and realized you were in a hallway far from the group's sight.
"oh. heh heh"
You let go of his hand and waited for him to speak. You stared at his eyes and he stared at yours. You waited and waited not knowing what to anticipate. His dark eyes sparkled in the afternoon sun as he gazed at you. The thought 'Jesus Christ this man is hot.' filled your head. Finally, you couldn't take the intense staring anymore and broke the silence.
"Uh, so what did you want to talk about?"
He parted his mouth and spoke. "Do you.." but then stopped.
"What is it? Why are you hesitating? Is everything alright?" you got more confused the longer this dragged out.
After a few seconds, he sighed and said "I like you. You don't have any special interests in me."
'WHAT?!' you thought as you desperately tried to control your expression.
'WHAT?!?! There is no way this is happening to me right now. What do I say?? I do not work well under pressure.'
Already on the verge of literal tears, you responded with the only thing you could think of at the moment. "Thank you, I appreciate that."
Then there was a pause for a few moments. You stood there profusely sweating and nervous while he stayed quiet.
He then chuckled which broke you out of your chain of thoughts. Surprised, you looked at him trying to find any answer for whatever is going on right now.
"Yeah." he once again gazed down at you with an expression you couldn't explain.
Deciding to play along, you also chuckled and confessed, "You are so weird sometimes Chun Young, I can never read your thoughts."
"Good." he approved.
You guys then started heading back to your respective shelters and ended the night.
In bed, you couldn't help but think about what Chun Young had said. That was supposed to happen to Dan I. Are you stealing Dan I's place in this novel? Is that going to cause any issues along the way? What about Dan I herself? What will happen to her? What will happen to the happy ending they deserve?
You didn't know what to think anymore. Everything is so complicated. Thinking like this over and over, missing your best friend one day and then being fine the next day only to miss her again the day after. You started to recognize a pattern in your behavior.
"I guess no matter how much personal growth I go through, I sometimes go back to my old habits. They really do die hard."
The next day after school, you were bombarded with questions from your friends at Ji Ho's house.
"What happened?" Dan I asked worried.
"What did you two talk about?" Yeo Ryeong added.
"Tell us what happened." Ju In came in with a worried face.
'wow I guess everyone was worried about Chun Young. Can't even get a minute to take in the beautiful infrastructure.' you thought as you tuned out all the worried questions and statements.
Finally you couldn't take it anymore and bursted out "Guys guys, It's okay. Nothing happened."
After observing everyone's anticipating stares, you added "we just made out."
As if on que, everyone's faces went shocked, some dropped drinks, some stopped moving, and Chun Young jumped a little and gave you the most unreadable face.
After a moment of complete silence, you roared in laughter "HAHAHAHAHA!"
"I'm joking you guys my goodness. I didn't think you'd believe me. Now I feel bad." you wiped your imaginary tears clearly not feeling bad.
Again on que, everyone was relieved and gave you shit for it.
"How dare you trick us you little shit." Ji Ho cracked his fingers.
"That wasn't funny at all" Yeo Ryeong whined.
"You scared us Soo Ah" Ju In fake cried.
"Alright alright! I'm sorry!" you fought for your life.
Everyone then laughed and calmed down. After the whole ordeal was over, the group of 7 had fun making BBQ outside and hanging out. At some point, you went inside to use the bathroom. When you came out of the bathroom, you were met with a curious Eun Hyung.
"All done! you can use it now." you smiled and tried to walk away. He grabbed your hand and turned you around back to facing him.
'oh god, what's happening.' you thought.
"Soo Ah, what happened? are you okay? is Chun Young okay?" he questioned.
You watched him as he bombarded you with questions with a worried face. You couldn't help but smile at how worried he was for his friends.
"Thank you for worrying Eun Hyung. But I promise you nothing happened. We didn't even talk about anything really. His mood just lifted." You pressed your hand over his that was holding your wrist reassuring him that there was nothing to worry about. "I promise he'll be okay."
Seeing you sincerely smiling up a him, he let go with an easier heart than earlier. "Alright. I just wanted to make sure."
"I know" you chuckled.
You both walked back together. After sitting down, you advised "You know, you didn't have to grab my hand like that. What if I didn't wash my hands after I used the bathroom?" you questioned his method.
"I heard the water running, I assumed you did."
"Hm. Ok. We can go with that." This was the exact response you gave when they questioned you about your alleged secret boyfriend. This was a subtle way of telling them that the boyfriend thing was a joke but you didn't think they caught on. Little did you know, they did. Even though the rest of the friends didn't know what you two were talking about, the response from you was enough for them to understand.
"Ew you didn't wash your hands?" Again ji Ho strikes.
Irritated, you glared at him and declared "I didn't wash my hands so I can touch your face with it." and reached for his face.
"Oh hell no" he ran away.
"Come back Ji Ho I just love you so much I wanna touch your face." You chased after him.
The evening ended in a lively mood and full stomachs.
