The night was dark but the stars shone bright. All lights were blacked out. Cold silence, that was what blue lock was filled with at night. Some players were sleeping soundly whereas a small portion were training, trying to evolve even at the hour.
Most was normal this night. However, if you'd listen closely, there'd be tiny, quiet sobs of sorrow in manshine city.

"Nagi, I'm in love with you."
The boy spoke with all his courage.
Everything was perfect. He had set up the atmosphere just right. They were standing at a place without any of the lousy players and the privacy invading cameras. Just the two of them, alone.
Reo's heart beating fast, waiting for a response he stood, with millions of thoughts running through his mind.
The other slightly tilted his head, uninterested.?
"Reo, it's not the time for jokes."
Huh?
"This is blue lock. 'Love' doesn't survive here."
The boy spoke with a lazy face as he turned his back on his 'best friend' leaving him shattered.
Reo stared at the back of the one he had just confessed to. He was heartbroken, he felt tears, warm, warm tears as hot as the sun. The tears were like acid melting him away. The boy tried reaching out to the other but he was already too far. He was too far...

The boy gasped for air, finally opening his eyes. As he stared at his hand, a tear fell down, followed by a another.
Oh, it was a nightmare...
Reo was relieved that it was just a fragment of his imagination. Nagi was still by his side and their friendship hadn't been ruined yet.
The boy got out of his bed and made way to the bathroom. The sounds of crickets and other insects followed his ears as he sighed.
Reo splashed water onto his face while looking at himself in the mirror. He had a whole plan made by himself to confess to Nagi but that nightmare just lowered down his confidence into 0. He is afraid. He is afraid that the same sorrow and agony might struck him again. Nagi's words hurt like a knife stabbing into him. He wouldn't be able to handle the heartbreak if Nagi rejects him and he knows that.
The mirror's clean with a sprinkle of water on it. Reflecting Reo's face, the tears being the most visible. He clenches his fist and punches the wall, trying his absolute best not to cry out loud.
I'm such a coward...
Why? Why am I so madly in love with you? It hurts...
A drop of blood falls on the ground and tears fall down to accompany it.
If the conditions were better, maybe I'd have a chance.
He falls down on his knees, wiping away the endless tears.
But at the very least, I'm grateful that you were in my life,
My treasure.
