Mythili's POV -

" Baba!" I threw myself in his arms as he walked in the room and then even pinched myself to make sure that I wasn't dreaming about this but when I found Shivaay's eyes looking into mine, I knew this had really happened.

" My Gudiya." He addressed me by the endearment he used to call for me and this brought a huge smile on my face and his.

" Let's go home Baba. Let's go home." I said, making him keep his palm on my cheeks as I brushed his tears away, barely keeping a hold on mine but the moment he heard the word home, he immediately distanced himself from me and sat on the corner of the bed, shaking his head. Baba's hands started to shiver terribly and eyes watered even more.

" No. No home. They will.....they.....kill....kill you and me." He was having a panic attack and I rushed by the side of the bed, trying to hold his hand.

" No Baba. Not that place. My home. We will go to my home and I promise that you will be safe there." I somehow managed to utter those words with some clarity despite of chocking and tearing up. This was all so overwhelming, almost impossible that the gravity of it was still settling down.

I found Shivaay kneel beside me, trying to get Baba to have some water who looked at him in the most sceptical manner before accepting it.

" Baba they will not touch a hair on Mythili's head nor will they bring any harm to you. I promise." Shivaay kept an arm on his shoulder while taking the glass of water back.

" They are dangerous." Was all he said.

" I know. But you both are family." Shivaay replied, getting a hold of my hand in his other one and squeezed it gently.

" Family?" He asked, looking on confused and this time, I tried to tell him that this man here is my husband.

" We are married Baba. He's my husband." This was perhaps, the first time I had acknowledged our marriage in front of him and anyone else but I did it, avoiding to look at him but he squeezed my hand once again, turning my eyes to his face which had a ghost of a smile playing on his lips but his gaze was as intense as it could get and I was flustered to say.

" Gudiya is married? My Gudiya?" He stood up from the bed and we got on our feet too. The tears which I had wiped away from his eyes were back and I threw my arms around him again.

" I missed you so much Baba. I missed you." I let myself go, including my self-control to keep myself calm in front of him and just like that, I was a little girl again, on my twenty second birthday feeling like two again!

He did not say a word but the tears refused to leave his eyes and mine and after a while, he made me sit on the bed and then sat next to me, holding my hand.

" You still are my best friend Mythili. Look." He said, taking something out of under the pillow and gave it to me.

It was a photo of him and me when I was perhaps five or six years. I was in his arms and we both were grinning towards the camera.

" Until today, I did not remember the girl in the photo but she was the only one who always smiled back at me, no matter what." His words were very silent but I knew the pain behind them. The pain of being lonely and alone. I had always known the kind of lonely and alone among the people I knew but here he was, for the past fourteen years, alone, truly.

" Baba we are going home. You will never have to live alone, no matter what now. I will take care of you, always." I gave the photo back to him and he possessively clutched in into his hands.

He gave me a small nod and then I looked at Shivaay.

" All the paperwork is done Mythili. Let's get Baba home." He offered me a reassuring smile and I gave him a thankful one as we stood up.

" Take him to the car. I will get his belongings." He added, handing over the car keys to me which I took and walked out with Baba, holding his hand and helped him sit in the car. In a minute or two, Shivaay was out too with Baba's suitcase.

" Let's go home." I said as he kept the suitcase in the car boot.

" Let's go home." He repeated my words and gently placed a small kiss on my forehead. He was about to make his way to the driving seat when I stopped him, taking his hand into mine.

He turned around to give me a confused look.

I took two steps forward and tiptoed to plant a kiss on his cheeks one-by-one and he, once again, had that upward tug on his lips when I called him my husband.

" On both the cheeks this time, growing bolder, aren't we Mythili?" He teased and I flushed with shyness but refused to look away from him.

" Now, let's go home." I shrugged my shoulders, leaving his hand and going to sit in the passenger's seat of the car while he got behind the steering wheel and started to drive.

" I forgot the flowers." I heard baba speak up as we were on our way.

" Flowers?" I asked before it suddenly clicked me that he had earlier gone out to get me flowers!

" The lilies I picked for you Gudiya. They are left behind." He muttered, answering and I couldn't help but turn back and give him a smile.

" I don't want flowers Baba. I don't want anything now that I have got you." I giggled at the face he had made, perhaps of his forgetfulness.

" But today is your birthday. Your husband reminded me that in the morning and I have nothing for you." He was just a kid, it seemed like.

" I know a flower shop Baba, it's right around the corner. Let's get her some birthday flowers?" Shivaay asked, looking at the top mirror to see Baba who gave him an enthusiastic nod but I am really wired differently. I had to object.

" There's no need Shivaay. I don't want anything now." I confessed with all the honesty I had but both of them looked unbothered about my rejection as he pulled the car over and they both got down, leaving me alone.

Ouch.

I fiddled with my phone, replying to my friends who were planning to steal me in the evening for a party and I had to give in because they would have killed me but first, I asked them to come home. I wanted to talk to them and tell them everything.

Just as soon, both of them were back, with flowers in their hands and I giggled, getting out of the car.

" Happy Birthday Gudiya." Baba said, giving me those flowers and I gave him a tight hug, again.

" Thank you Baba." I replied as he sat down in the car once again, leaving Shivaay and me standing there.

This time, Shivaay took just one step near me and extended the beautiful bunch of lilacs to me and I couldn't take my eyes off him and then the flowers.

" These are beautiful Shivaay." I confessed, taking them and lightly touching their petals. They were so delicate.

" Where is my hug Mrs. Rathore?" He asked me, grabbing my attention again and I shook my head in a no and after looking around. We were in the middle of a road for god's sake!

" I am not going to give you a hug here." I looked at the flowers again, muttering.

" Then I am going to take when is owned to me with interest, Mythili." There was a playful glint in his eyes and a teasing tone in his voice which made me laugh as I looked at him.

" I am sure you will." Okay, I had no idea what words were coming out of my mouth at this point of time and when they did, my eyes widened in surprise and I got inside the car to avoid his eyes which were searching for mine.

The rest of the ride was fairly silent and when we reached, Jai, our house help made his way to get Baba's suitcase from Shivaay's hands.

" Will Maa be okay with Baba being here?" I whisper asked, and all of a sudden, a strange but not unchartered fear crept it's way to me. What if Maa or Anamika or Nupur are not okay with Baba living here? What will I do then? I don't have a house or money to take care of Baba on my own.

" Mythili, stop. Stop overthinking. Everything is okay and why won't it be? He is your grandfather and now, mine too. There will always be a place for him here at his home. In case you haven't noticed, all of us aren't gifted in terms of family. We make our own." He said, tucking a taking hold of my hand and entwining our fingers together as we walked and he pulled me even closer to him.

Maa had made Baba comfortable and Anamika and Nupur were sitting with him after they all wished me a Happy Birthday. I wanted to ask him so many questions and spend all my time with him but he was tired with everything that had happened and so I took him to one of the guest rooms, which I assumed would now be his bedroom as he lied down. I arranged whatever belongings he had with him in the closet before switching the lights off and leaving the door slightly ajar for him before I made way to my room.

" Will you please tell me now Shivaay?" I asked him, taking a seat next to him on the couch. He was just tying his shoelaces and perhaps, leaving for work.

" It's is your birthday today, Mythili. The truth, however can wait another day. Just try and enjoy yourself today." He said, standing up and picking his office bag and I stood up too.

" But...." I tried to intervene but he kissed my forehead and walked out of the room in a swish.

" Shivaay....wait!" I called after him, running as he had already made his way to the stairs and snowflake was following him too.

He turned around to face me.

" My friends want me to go out with them in the evening. Can I please go?" I asked him, internally praying that he lets me!

" Why are you asking me? Didn't I tell you to just let me know?" He asked, raising a brow and I nodded, hesitantly and he left.

" Come on Snowflake, let me get you something to eat." I sighed, picking my kitten in my arms, carrying her to the room.

The rest of the day, I spent with Baba since everyone had left for work and my college had a leave today for some reason, probably some construction. We were also approaching our annual day and I was dancing for the first time since earlier, my parents never allowed me to participate in these events.

Baba and I had a very late lunch, like at 4:30 and then he went to nap for a bit. Snowflake too went with him because apparently, Snowflake liked everyone more than me and heartbroken, I decided to make way to the terrace to rehearse for my dance because the weather was perfect with absolutely cool sea breeze.

" But first, I need to change." I talked to myself and picked out a simple suit for myself.

Mythili's Look -

Shivaay's POV -

Getting home early was not a prospect that I ever looked forward to but today, it was her birthday and as much as I wanted to spend all my time with my wife, this meeting could not have been pushed to a later date and that is why I was sitting here, tapping the pen between my fingers to the writing pad in front of me impatiently for this conference to wind up.

" Sir this is it from our side. If there are any changes...." The woman who was giving the presentation for about ten utterly boring minutes concluded and I could thank heavens for it.

" My office will get back to you, Miss. Thank you for you time." I told everyone dismissively and stood up, walking out.

I asked my PA to cancel all the rest of the meetings for today before I made my way to the parking lot and drove home, the guitar kept on the back of my car, was what my wife wanted for a long time but never asked for.

It was almost six and there was pin-drop silence in the house. Not even Mythili's kitten was purring or meowing around. I climbed the stairs to first check on Baba who was sleeping and Mythili's kitten was sitting on the bed, next to him.

Mythili wasn't in our bedroom either and there was only one place where she could have been, the terrace. The favourite part of this house of hers.

As I took the stairs, I could hear the faint beats of music in the air and there she was, dancing, my wife, dancing to the tunes and I stood frozen to my spot by the door, leaning to the door to enjoy the show as a smile made it's way on me.

Her movement complimented every beat and tune of the song. Her hands and legs moved in a symphony of togetherness and the expressions on her face were the best accessories she wore, besides her dupatta which was a different story altogether. It flew with her, almost like it was her wing and she could fly away. The way her eyes moved to and fro with the song, her hands and legs were all so consuming that I couldn't take my eyes off her, I lacked the self-control to.

Every curve she wore drew my eyes in, including the one on her lips and all my devious head could do was image a thousand ways in which I could corrupt my wife. Get her to be addicted to me as much as I was addicted to her now.

If there was one name to the feeling of attraction, treachery, agony and vulnerability, that name was Mythili Shivaay Rathore for me.

I was so busy thinking about her that I did not realise that she had stopped dancing and was now looking at me.

Only when she gasped with her eyes widened was when I realised that she had finally taken notice of me.

" Shivaay....I....when...I didn't realise that you were here!" She exclaimed, suddenly stopping the music and then taking a few steps towards me.

" Careful, wife. I might just enjoy you dancing in front of my eyes a bit too much and forget about keeping an eye out in case you decide to make a fall." I couldn't resist the temptation to tease her as I closed the distance between us.

" Now I know that you only say this just to pull my leg." She crossed her arms in front of her chest, trying to look annoyed and I couldn't help but chuckle.

" Then you should stop getting outraged by the joke Mrs. Rathore." I raised a brow at her but she stood just like that.

" Give me a dance." I asked, extending my hand for her to take it. She picked her phone and put on some music before she placed her hand in mine but I couldn't care less for it. Music wasn't want I needed to dance, it was her I needed.

" For a person who does not like to dance, you sure do it a lot." She spoke with a hint of curiosity in her tone and I decided to give her the truth.

" Do you remember the first time we danced together in that godforsaken party?" I asked her and she nodded her head in a yes.

" That was the first time I danced with a woman who wasn't family. You. That was also the last time I danced with a woman that wasn't my family." I promised her and the red on her cheeks with her lips slightly parted did nothing but tempt me to lean in and finish what we started the other day in my office.

" Really? I was your first actual slow dance?" She looked like she didn't believe me.

" Yes Mythili. You were my first actual slow dance." I replied and the glint in her eyes which had just shown themselves to me was uncovering for me the first time.

" I would like you to kiss me, I think." Her words came out low and slow but I knew that I heard them loud and clear and there was nothing else I'd rather do than to give her what she wanted and take what I needed.

Mythili's POV -

" I would like you to kiss me, I think." I found myself asking him and shockingly, I did not regret the words coming out of my mouth for one second which was unlike me!

I could feel his hands firmly placed on my back, sending shivers down my spine and the smell of his dusky cologne was just making me a bit silly senseless. The sun had almost set and the cool breeze, as soothing as ever just wanted me to remain in his arms even more. His eyes, on the other hand seemed like scorching flame and a smirk begun to form on his lips.

" You think, is that what you think? Let's find that out then, wife." He said and placed his lips on mine without giving me a chance to respond back and honestly, I had nothing to say. As our lips met, time stood still. Soft and gentle, the kiss deepened as our bodies moved closer together. The warmth of his embrace ignited a spark within me, igniting a wildfire.

I ran my fingers through his hair, feeling the soft strands slip through them. He held me tightly, his arms wrapped around my waist, drawing me in even closer and I did the same.

His ability to make me forget everything around me and about me was astounding and as I pulled away to catch my breath, we gazed into each other's eyes, our souls laid right before each other, without a single second of doubt which I might have had before today.

I had my first kiss and this one I'd remember till eternity and beyond as I placed my arms around his torso and rested my head on Shivaay's chest, drawing patterns on his sleeve, hearing his heartbeat as it matched with mine.

" Happy Birthday Mythili." I heard him wish me. All I could do was hum as he picked me in his arms and carried me downstairs.
