You and Hope looked up at him, Hope climbing off as she started to get off the bed. "It's fine. I was just leaving. I was just leaving." Hope repeated, climbing off of the bed, a small smile on her face to hide her embarrassment.
"You sure?" Rafael stopped and turned around.
"Yeah." Hope replied, walking out of the room.
You bit your bottom lip to hide your embarrassment as well. "Bye, Hope." You stated, Hope just glancing back with a small smile as she left. You then let out a sigh. "This better be good." You commented, climbing off the bed.
Landon nodded in agreement. "Yeah, what do you need us for?" Landon questioned.
"Really, guys?" He then pulled up a sword. "You're supposed to kneel... in the presence of a king." He commented, causing you guys to smile.

You were with Rafael as you read out loud about King Arthur and how he was a brave soldier. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up." Rafael stopped you, chuckling afterwards. "You're out of control, bro." Rafael stated, his voice muffed due to him eating.
Your eyes widen as he said that. "Excuse me?" You questioned, taking that as an offence. Rafael went to say something but you stopped him. "Listen, we know you're a descendant from King Arthur's bloodline. Everything I'm reading right now could have happened." You explained,lowering the book slightly.
"Yeah. Could have." Rafael repeated, smiling. "What is Hope doing there, exactly?" He asked after a moment.
You looked down. "I... I got carried away." You whispered but shook your head. "That's not the point, Raf, I don't understand how you're not buying into this, Landon probably would've been worse than me." You stated, closing the book. "If I knew I was descended from kings..." You trailed off.
Rafaels squinted his eyes. "That's always been the difference between you and me, Kat. You've always wanted to know, but isn't coming from a rich family basically the same? I've just wanted to be normal. Have a... a home, friends and a family. And look, now that we have that, I don't need some fantasy role-playing to tell me where I come from." Rafael explained standing up, he tried taking the book from you but you held a tight grip on it.
You glared up at him. "You do realise this is history, right?" You rhetorically asked.
Rafael then tried again, you allowing him this time as you let out a sigh. "And after all we've been through... look, I'm done looking back." Rafael calmly stated, turning around.
You let out a groan and stood up, trying to grab the book. "Okay, fine, whatever, can you just give me the book back, please? It's Landons." You pleaded.
Rafael glanced behind his back to look at you. "This book?" He questioned.
You looked at him, dumbfounded. "No, the book all the way down in Mystic Fall Library." You stated, but quickly continued. "Yes, dumbass, that book." You emphasised. When you tried grabbing it, he kept moving away from your prying hands. "Just give me the book." You accidentally shoved him.
That's when you realised he was going to do something to retaliate. "Wait, wait, no, no, no, no, no." You repeated multiple times before he threw the book down and placed you in a headlock. "Stop, stop." You stated, getting annoyed.
"Now we're here." Rafael commented, laughing.
That's when you felt something hit your cheek, a wet substance. "Raf, let go now." You ordered, getting angry with the way he was playing, which for you felt it was rough.
Rafael tilted his head still laughing. "I can't hear you. I-I can't hear you." Rafael kept saying.
You let out a groan of annoyance as you tried pushing yourself out of it. "Raf." You sternly called, although he still thought he was joking. "Stop!" You yelled, elbowing him in the stomach, trying to be gentle, which caused him to let go.
"What?" He questioned, confused. You lifted your hand to your cheek and saw the crimson red blood on your fingers, you wanted to look away but when you looked up at Rafael and saw the same crimson blood trickling down his nose, you pointed towards it. "Huh?" He said before raising a hand to his nose. Once he saw the red blood, he stared, extremely confused.
That's when he started gagging and fell to his knees, puking up a lot of blood, that's when you looked away, groaning in his gust while you held a comforting hand on his shoulder while trying to draw out the noise by obviously looking away and trying to focus on something else in the room.
"Raf, you got to get up." You commented once he stopped throwing up. He only let out groans as he breathed in, his lungs needing the fresh air but it was obvious he was shaking his head as you felt his neck move back and forth.
You let out a short but worried breath as you looked back down at him, ignoring the blood as you grabbed his right arm and put it around your shoulders as you brought him to Ric's office. Once you got to the door, you lifted your leg and kicked open the door, entering the room with Rafael who looked like a vampire gone mad.
"Ric." You called, seeing him and Kaleb turn around.

Alaric had gotten the witches to look over Rafael while you waited outside the lab. Landon then came rushing to your side. "I heard about Raf, is he okay?" He questioned, trying to look into your worried but distant eyes that didn't look into his. Landon then grabbed your shoulder, getting you out of your trance. "Kate! Is he okay?" He repeated.
You stumbled on your words, shaking your head. "I-I don't know- he just- he just started coughing up blood-" You spoke rather quickly but stopped yourself, motioning to your cheek with the dried blood on it.
Landon let out a sigh but once you both saw the witches, including Lizzie leave the room, you both entered to see Rafael taking out the IV. "What are you doing?" Landon questioned as you both walked over to Raf.
Rafael threw the IV to the ground before facing you two. "Getting the hell out of here." He stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"You don't want to wait for the results?" Landon questioned again, more confused now.
"Is waiting around gonna change anything, Lan?" Rafael responded, shaking his head.
You groaned slightly in annoyance. "You're dying, Raf." You commented, gaining the attention. Both were shocked you spoke that bluntly. "We've all thought it, but isn't better to just sit here and rest instead of doing something that could speed up the process?" You questioned, making a good point.
Rafael let out a sigh with a shake of his head. "Look, I... I just can't sit here and do nothing." Rafael responded, looking down.
Landon shook his head up and down, not going to fight Rafael. "Okay. Whatever you need, we're there." Landon wrapped an arm around your shoulder, knowing you were upset.
You got out of Landons arms and didn't say anything as you walked out of the room. A few moments later, you found yourself walking to Hopes room and when you entered, you saw Hope sitting down at her desk. Once she heard you come in,she turned around and immediately got up and ran to give you a hug. You hugged her back, putting your head in the crook of her neck.
She gently moved your hair out of the crook of your neck and rested her hand on your head. "Baby... I heard about Raf..." She commented.
You let out a breathe before leaving the hug to look into her eyes. "Rafael's left." You stated sadly. "He said he doesn't want to sit around so he and Landon took off to god no where's." You continued, just thinking about him dying somewhere other than at the school with his friends made you get not only mad but more upset.
Hope stared into your eyes, knowing you were upset about Rafael taking off and she was about to say something when you both heard a voice fill the room.
"...we gave Raf an elixir that links him to the lunar cycle. It's a Band-Aid, but it will hold off his symptoms until the morning." Lizzie voice stated.
"When he drops dead." Kalebs voice filled the room now.
You looked around the room before back to Hope. "Where is that coming from?" You questioned.
"Alaric's office." Hope responded, earning a confused look from you. "I casted a spell to hear everything he says to get information about Raf." Hope stated before grabbing your hand and taking you to his office, when you both arrived, you heard a voice.
"My point is, if anyone can find a way to save him, it's us." That was Lizzie trying to be optimistic.
You and Hope then entered the room. "There's only one problem with that." Hope interrupted, looking to you.
Letting out a breathe,you looked to Ric, Lizzie, Kaleb and Jed. "Rafael took off with Landon. He's gone." You stated sadly, earning looks from everyone.

You and Hope were in the library, searching for a way to save Raf while Lizzie did healing spells. Vampires were speed vamping through books as a way of helping. As you were looking through a book, thoughts clouded your mind like killer whales suffocating a whale.
What if he does die? How would you react? What if you couldn't do anything about it and by morning he is gone? What if you never got to say goodbye? Those thoughts only made you groan in frustration and throw the book on the table.
Hope looked back at you from a shelf she was at. "You okay?" She questioned.
You let out an aggravated sigh, running a hand through your wavy hair. "Just peachy." You sarcastically responded, obviously not okay.
Hope had grabbed a book, deciding not to respond but as she turned, the familiar voice of Lizzie filled the room. "So, about those healing spells." Lizzie said, both you and Hope look her up and down as she had smoke spots all over her.
Hope smiled slightly from how funny she looked. "None of them worked?" She questioned.
"Not as intended." Lizzie responded.
Hope then brought the book she had grabbed earlier to the table you were sat on. "Well, the day is not over yet." Hope stayed positive, placing the book down and looking through it.
You looked up at Lizzie, silently laughing with the way she looked. "You look funny." You commented.
Lizzie looked down at you, you being sat down and not standing. "Could say the same thing to you." Lizzie countered.
Your smile then vanished as you stare turned into a glare. You went to argue but Hope cut in. "Quit fighting, it won't do anything." Hope commented.
Lizzie rolled her eyes and looked between the two of you. "Listen, we've tried everything. You both know what we need to do." Lizzie continued on with what she was going to say.
You let out a sigh. "Lizzie, we're not doing a linking spell, okay?" You stated, resetting your head in your hand as you grabbed a book. Hope only agreed with your statement.
"Why not? It's the exact thing that you did to save me from the Merge." Lizzie argued.
You looked up at your cousin, seeing she thought she was right about this spell. "Yeah but that was different. Landon would have to die and resurrect each day if we link Landon to Rafael." You pointed out the obvious.
"And we don't know how many lives Landon has left. We could kill them both." Hope continued.
Lizzie became quiet for a moment as what you and Hope said made sense. "Well, have you thought about what Landon would want?" Lizzie questioned you, looking down to your eye sight.
You stayed quiet as you looked at the book Hope had grabbed before grabbing onto it and reading it, an idea popping into your head. "I might have another idea." You stated, reading the incantation on the page in your head.

"So Hope and Kate wants to use Clarke's Freaky Friday tuning fork to put Raf's consciousness in someone else's body?" Landon questioned as him, Lizzie and Rafael walked through the halls of the Salvatore School.
Lizzie took it upon herself to tell Rafael and Landon the plan once Kaleb and MG brought them back from Rafaels dads house so you wouldn't have to face him and get mad at the fact about he left. "Look, I know it's not ideal, okay?" Lizzie stated, grabbing the trident. "But if we modify and reforge the Trident, then a siphon like me can use it to transfer energy instead of consciousness." Lizzie explained to the boys.
Rafael then walked in front of the two. "Well-well, wait, wait. What kind of energy? And into who?" Rafael questioned Lizzie.
"Well, my first choice was Jed, but unfortunately, it has to be..." Lizzie trailed off and looked over at Landon. "...phoenix energy." She stated after a moment.
"Phoenix?" He repeated. "So what does that mean for Landon?"
Landon looked down before looking up at Rafael. "I'm guessing it means I become human. Mortal?" He questioned, earning a nod and a half sad yet reassuring smile from Lizzie. "Which is probably why Kate isn't here to tell me herself." Landon complained.
Lizzie then felt her blood start to boil ever so slightly at the fact he spoke about you like that. "She would be here, Landon, but she didn't want to face Rafael and you. Not because she's scared of the outcome, but because she's upset at the fact you decided to run off." Lizzie scolded not only Landon but also Rafael. "Don't blame her choices on her because of your actions." Lizzie stated before walking off.
The boys stood there for a moment before following after the blonde.
