My mind kept tumbling around throughout classes because of the dream. It wasn't even on my mind during my first two but then I caught a glimpse of a guy with blue green eyes in the hall as I was going to my third class. I didn't even know a guy like him went to this school. He was pretty cute, with shaggy black hair and cream colored skin. He reminded me of Light too much for me to not notice. I kept wondering if maybe he was Light but I shook away the thought quickly. It wasn't until he caught me staring that I realized I had been in the same spot for a good two minutes. I couldn't look away though and because of that, he raised an eyebrow at me before saying something to his friend and walking off. His friend grinned at me before doing the same and that's when I snapped out of it, blushing like crazy. I was such an idiot. Staring at a random guy like that for so long. He probably thought I was a weirdo.

When I reached my third class, my mind wouldn't focus on anything the teacher said. It led to a massive migraine that had me holding my head as I sat there. The bell rang before I knew it, but I was in too much pain to get up. Everyone who passed by gave me a strange look yet didn't bother me. Maybe they knew about me staring at some guy I didn't know. Maybe that was a popular guy and he told everyone about it. I shook my head and ran my hand through my hair. This isn't a movie. I groaned and rubbed at my temples as I walked out of class. At least it was lunch time and I could just relax with my friends. I wasn't about to tell anyone about the dream or my idiot moment that happened earlier. The less the people that knew, the better.

I walked into the cafeteria and moved out of the way of the crowds forming. I looked toward my table that my friends and I always sat at. Ashley, Danny, Alex, and Francine were sitting there, chatting amongst themselves. They were laughing at what Danny had said and I sighed as my migraine eased up a bit. I began walking over to them only for someone to block my way. I groaned internally as I looked at her. Fucking hell. Can't I just catch a break?

I swallowed and tried to step around Carly but she only stepped in the way again. Where were the teacher's when you needed them? I backed away and glanced around. Some people were staring at the scene unfolding and this made me want to cry. I didn't like all of this attention and it was a mystery as to why she had to pick on me. Carly placed her hands on her hips and glared at me, making me feel smaller than I already was. I needed to get ready for her words. Every word would be like acid to my self esteem. Aimme and Emily were behind her, there to back her up. Aimme avoided my gaze and looked at her phone.

Aimme was always nice to me in art class. She gave me complements on my paintings even though I knew they sucked. She showed me hers every time and they were actually really good. It was obvious that Aimme could become a professional if she wanted to and I'm sure she knew it toot. They were beautiful. Emily on the other hand didn't even acknowledge my presence, not that I minded. Her paintings sucked anyway.

"Listen... little girl, back off of my boyfriend. You got that?" Carly snapped. I blinked, expecting much worse. She wasn't thinking like usual. The bitch.

"I... I don't want your... boyfriend. He just... asked me about something." I explained. She scoffed and narrowed her eyes.

"He's too nice to nobodies like you." Carly smiled. Oh there it was. I bit my lip to keep myself from crying. My self-esteem was going lower by the minute. I pulled my jacket over my hands and backed away, but she kept coming towards me.
"Just stay away from him. If I see you talking with him again, you're dead. Got it?"

"I... I-"

Before I could finish, her right hand connected with my cheek and I gasped, falling onto the floor. I held my cheek in shock as I stared up at her, tears filling my eyes. Carly seemed shocked by it too but she covered it up by clearing her throat. The cafeteria had become deadly silent and I knew everyone had seen what happened. She had... hit me. Why did she... hit me? Tears blurred my vision and fell down my cheeks as I climbed to my feet. Someone growled but I didn't care. My cheek was burning. Aimme grabbed her arm and shook her. Carly turned towards her, eyes narrowed. Aimme glared at her before pushing her back and reached into her pocket. I shook my head and ran out of the cafeteria

As tears slid down my cheeks, I ran down the hallway that had some people hanging by lockers. I didn't worry about who saw me and just made my way outside. My vision became more blurred and more tears started spilling from my eyes. I tried to keep it in but soon I was sobbing. My ribs were constricting my lungs from expanding so I stopped running and let myself catch my breath before I started crying again.

My sobs were the only thing I could hear outside.. She slapped me and just because her boyfriend apologized for her action. Why didn't I just ignore him. I sat down on the school steps, covering my face so my sobs wouldn't be so loud.

The door opened behind me and I froze. Someone knelt down beside me and I removed my hands from my face. A guy smiled at me and handed me a Kleenex. I wiped my face with my hands and stared at it. I didn't trust him. For all I know, he could be on Carly's side and I didn't need to be made fun of anymore. He sighed and grabbed my hand, putting the tissue in it. I frowned but wiped my nose. He shook his brown hair out of his eyes and that's when I saw the traces of red in it. His bangs covered half of his eyes which were a dark brown. I sniffled.

"Mind if I try to comfort you?"

Mystery POV:

"That's not what happened you idiot." I rolled my eyes and took a gulp of blood from my cup. Ethan raised his eyebrows and cocked his head to the side. I wish he would just let the topic go because I wasn't sure if I should tell them the rest of it.

"Then what happened?"

"None of your damn business. It was just... a dream." I sighed.

"So that's why you came to school late? You had to take a cold shower?" Sean smirked. I glared at him and put another chicken nugget in my mouth.

Sean chuckled and ran his fingers through his hair before snaking his arm around Ethan's waist. I rolled my eyes. Yeah, rub it in my face that I don't have my mate with me. Asshole. They had only met a month ago and yet here they were lovey dovey. Sean always thought his mate was a girl and we even talked about what kind of girl we would want. However, once he saw Ethan, all that went out the window and they began dating soon after. I didn't even know that they were together until I went over Sean's to study one day. I opened his bedroom door and saw the both of them with no shirts on and almost no pants. I almost threw myself out the window from shock and disgust. Sean told me not to tell his parents so I agreed as long as they put a sock on the door next time. I don't want to have to poke out my eyes and burn them. I like my eyes. Especially since I get to see my mate.

I looked up to find her usual table, but she wasn't there. I frowned. I could smell her scent so I was sure she was here. There was a slap and the lunchroom quieted down. I turned my attention to the scene by the doors and widened my eyes. Holy shit, someone got slapped! I narrowed my eyes when I saw the girl from my Spanish class standing in front of a girl who'd been the one she slapped. The cheek she was holding was red and the faint print of a hand could be seen on her face. My heart let out a beat. My eyes chilled over and my fangs came down. It was her.

A growl escaped my lips instinctively as I shot up from my seat. My legs were taking me over to that girl so I could rip her throat until Sean grabbed my shoulder and I came to a stop. I snapped my head towards him, narrowing my eyes. People turned toward our table.

"Let. Me. Go." I warned. Sean stood up and shook his head.

"You'll regret it." He said.

I snarled and shook his arm loose, sitting back down. I gripped the table to keep me from strangling Carly but it was proving hard. I closed my eyes and took deep, calming breaths. I wanted to see her blood splattered across the floor and on my hands, to watch as the light dimmed from her eyes. I wanted her dead. The table cracked and I opened my eyes to see that a big piece of it fell off. My eyes went back to normal  and I looked to see if my mate was still there but she was gone. I groaned and ran my hand over my face. Shit.

"She's my mate. She's the one... that I see in the dreams." I huffed, looking at Sean. Ethan squealed and clapped his hands together.
"I've been watching her at school and-"

"Whoa there, stalker." Ethan chuckled. I glared at him. This was no time to be lecturing me. Yes it's wrong to just watch someone at school and not talk to them, but what was I supposed to do? I didn't have the courage to talk to her.

"I have to go comfort her." I said, standing back up and stepping over the bench.

"I'll go." Sean flashed out of the cafeteria and I rolled my eyes.

It was my mate so I should be able to comfort her. Then again, I'd probably end up patting her head and weirding her out even more since she doesn't even know who I am. Nah, fuck that. I'm still going. I motioned Ethan to follow me as we walked out of the cafeteria. They weren't in the hallway so she must've ran outside or something. I just hoped that she didn't fall for Sean or something. My inner vampire growled at the thought and I found myself speeding up my pace. Goddamn jealousy.
