Izuku wakes up in his dorm room before changing into regular clothes and heading down to the common room. As he gets there he sees most of the class relaxing before heading to class. As soon as he enters the room the class stops what they were doing and just stares at him as he heads to the kitchen to make himself some coffee. As he leans against the counter waiting for the kettle to boil some of the class walk up to him
Mina: “hey Yagi we thought you were on that business trip with Mr wayne”
Izuku: (business trip?)
Izuku: “yeah well it didn’t take as long as we thought it would”
Momo: “i know what it’s like i use to go with my father on his business trips i can’t say it was the most fun thing to do but it was a valuable experience”
Izumi: “hey Izu did dad tell you about the retirement parts”
Izuku: “yeah he told me about it”
Izumi: “So you're coming?”
Izuku: “like i told him i’ll think about it but i'm not making any promises”
They continue talking about what Izuku missed in class, which was mostly Izumi trying to stop Katsuki from killing Kaminari. This was until he looked round and noticed Uraraka wasn't there he was about to say something but if on cue they heard her yell out in pain quickly the class ran up to her room with izuku leading the way. He quickly opens the door to her room, finding Uraraka on the floor leaning against a wall holding her bloody arm. While Ace was standing in the middle of the room barking and growling at her with blood on his mouth
Izuku: “what happened!?!”
Before anyone could say anything Ace turns to look at him still growling. Izuku walks up him trying to calm him down
Izuku: “Ace are you alright buddy just come here and calm down”
As Izuku was speaking Ace lunged at him knocking him to the ground. Ace starts trying to bite him while Izuku tried to hold him back
Izuku: “Ace stop it!!”
Momo quickly makes some tranquilizer darts throwing one of the darts into Ace causing him to become weaker but was still trying to attack izuku. She throws another dart at him and Ace becomes weak enough for Izuku to lightly knock Ace off of him. Ace tries to stand as the darts start taking full effect on him causing him to collapse on the ground before passing out. Quickly everyone goes over to Uraraka to have a look at her arm
mina: “Are you alright?”
Uraraka: “yeah my arm arm just stings”
Izuku: “let me see”
She shows him her arm showing a distinct bite mark
Izuku: “yaoyorozu could you make me some bandages”
Momo: “yeah sure”
She creates some bandaged before handing them to him Quickly her starts wrapping up her arm
Izuku: “what got into him?”
Uraraka: “i don’t know one minute everything was fine the next he was wobbly and then he bit me”
Izuku: “ok i'm going to take him to the vet see what's wrong with him while you go see recovery girl”
Uraraka: “waite i want to go with you”
Izuku: “are you sure he will most likely wake up before we can get him to the vet”
Uraraka: “i know i just want to know why we went crazy”
Izuku: “ok”
After a while
Ace now had a muzzle on as Izuku and Uraraka walked him to the nearest vet. As they walked to the vet, Ace kept whining at them while looking away as if in shame.
Uraraka: “i know you don't like the muzzle don’t worry we’ll get the muzzle off soon”
Izuku: “when we find out what caused you to go crazy”
They continue walking to the vet making conversation as izuku tell’s Uraraka about his adventure and decision regarding the league.
Uraraka: “that explains why your back early”
Izuku: “yeah are you sure you ok”
Uraraka: “yeah it only stings if i put pressure on it”
They both walk into the vet seeing that it was full of people and their pets going crazy as they wait to see the vet. They both walk to take a seat only to overhear a conversation
Stranger 1: “do you have any idea what’s going on?”
Stranger 2: “nope i’m just glad i don’t live anywhere near the zoo”
Hearing this made both Izuku and Uraraka have a sudden realization hit them. They both look at each other
Izuku: “i’ve got to go”
Uraraka: “i know stay safe i'll take care of Ace”
Izuku: “if i'm not back soon i’ll meet you back at the dorm”
She just nodded before Izuku walked out of the vet heading into an alley to change into the suit before heading to the suit.
At the zoo
Two zookeepers watched as an elephant ran up the hill in its cage slamming itself into the wall of the cage. As it hits the wall the elephant falls back down the hill.
Zookeeper 1: “i’ve never seen them act like this before”
Zookeeper 2: “never mind that it looks like he’s going to make it next time and i'm out of tranquilizers”
One of the elephants takes another run at the cage wall. As he collides with the wall he manages to break through the wall. Before the elephant could make it fully out of the cage izuku throws a grapple line round one of the elephant's legs before wrapping it around a rock as the elephant tries to step out of the cage the line goes taut causing the elephant to fall and slide down the hill. Before Izuku could do anything another elephant grabbed him with its trunk lifting him up before throwing him to the ground. The elephant was about to stomp on him only for Izuku to roll out of the way before he could do anything he heard both the zookeepers screaming. Immediately izuku rocketed into the air when he looked towards the zookeepers seeing them about to be attacked by an escaped gorilla quickly Izuku throws a bola at the gorilla stopping it in its place immediately Izuku flies towards the gorilla punching it to the ground. He was about to move when he haired stomping behind him turning round he saw the elephant from earlier marching towards him. He was about to move when the elephant suddenly stopped and started walking around like nothing happened.
Zookeeper 2: “what did you do to make them stop?”
Batman: “nothing”
Zookeeper 1: “well thanks anyway we got it from here”
The zookeeper’s start leading the animals back to the cages as izuku head’s to the cave
After a while
Izuku had made it back to the cave; he was still in the suit but with his mask down. He was currently on the phone to Uraraka while Bruce was looking at something on the computer.
Uraraka: “it doesn't make any sense Ace has never been violent towards me since we first met”
Izuku: “i know are both of you alright”
Uraraka looks towards Ace who was curled up nair her feet on the common room floor with a sad expression
Uraraka: “yeah we’re both fine now we’ll i mean apart from my arm”
Izuku: “we’ll i told you to go to recovery girl”
Uraraka: “hey if something is wrong with my puppy i want to know about it”
After hariring this izuku has a smirk on his face as he as he decides to tease her a little
Izuku: “since when did he become your puppy?”
Uraraka: “since you decided to leave him with me most night’s”
Izuku: “fare i guess”
Uraraka: “don’t worry i'm sure he still loves you too”
As they were talking Bruce looked toward him before directing him to come towards the computer
Izuku: “sorry Ocha got to go i think Bruce might have found something”
Uraraka: “ok and Izu when you find the person who did this to our puppy kick the asses”
Izuku: “copy that i’ll see you both soon”
Uraraka: “bye….love you”
Izuku: “love you to”
Not fully realizing what he said, Izuku hangs up the phone after a couple seconds it sinks in on what they had just said immediately he starts blushing up a storm. He tries to calm down as he walks over to bruce
Izuku: “found something?”
Bruce: “i think so there was a disturbance starting at midnight and ending exactly when all the animals stopped their rampages at the same time the military reported interference on certain sonar frequencies”
Izuku: “so we’re talking sound here”
Bruce: “and you know someone we have to look into”
Izuku: “shreeve”
Izuku pulls his mask back on as he was about to head to the batmobile only to realize the batmobile wasn't their
Batman: “umm…bruce where’s the batmobile”
Bruce: “i sent it in for repairs you adventure with the league did a number on it”
Batman: “sent it in for repairs?”
Bruce: “What did you think I was the one repairing it every time you broke it?”
Batman: “we’ll kinda yeah so if you don’t repair it then who does”
Bruce: “while we're talking Shreeve could be doing anything”
Batman: “right sorry so if i cant use the batmobile they how am i supposed to get there”
Bruce: “the old fashion way”
A couple minutes later
Izuku was running and gliding across rooftops talking with Bruce until he made it to the mental hospital Shreeve was incarcerated in.
Batman: “Are you sure he’s still in there?”
Bruce com: “he should be stay on guard we don’t know what to expect”
Izuku turns invisible before flying towards the hospital he makes his way into and through the hospital until he reaches an office as he sneaks in he locks the door before turning visible again without wasting time he rad’s through the file cabinet until finding Shreeve’s file quickly he ready through it
Batman: “apparently Shreeve was released a week ago they say that they cured him”
Bruce com: “cured him huh? Do you believe that?”
Batman: “as they guy he blames for losing his hearing i’d say no”
As they were talking an orderly tries to open the door
Orderly: “who’s in there?”
Izuku placed the file back in its proper place before opening the window to the room and gliding away from the building
Batman: “it had to have be Shreeve right”
Bruce com: “maybe but at this point it’s just a theory there are a lot of villains with sound based quirks”
Batman: “ok then what should we do?”
Bruce com: “we look at this from a different angle instead of asking who is doing this we ask~”
Batman: “how there doing it”
Bruce com: “exactly so we should pardish dash per grenna”
Izuku land on a nearby building with a confused look on his face
Batman: “what? You're not making arrissno corty tie etoxin?”
Bruce com: “granbow key waggle locksna?”
Batman: “nolam tal, tal base”
Before Izuku could try and say anything else he heard comotion on the streets looking down he saw some people trying to argue amongst each other while some were fighting due to the misunderstandings happening left and right. He was about to go back to trying to get back in contact with Bruce until he saw someone driving incredibly fast towards two women looking as if they were trying to understand each other. The driver wasn't paying attention as he looked to be trying to fix his radio. Seeing what was about to happen Izuku leaped off the building and dived towards the two women using his rockets to give him extra speed to get to the women in time. The driver noticed the women at the very last second he hit the brakes and tried to swerve out of the way of the women but was still on a direct course to collide with them. Izuku manages to grab the women out of the way a second before the car would have hit them. As Izuku got up off the ground a billboard near them automatically turned on as Shreeve back in his suit pressed a button on his suit turning the disruption off as he started speaking to the city.
Shriek: “hello city this is shriek i shut off the interference so you could all hear this i'm willing to give the city back it’s sanity permanently in exchange for one thing…batman’s life tomorrow night Hosu main square if he’s not there things’ll get a lot worse the decisions yours”
As the broadcast ended the civilian round Izuku started circling before walking towards him as one of the civilians tried to quickly grab him only for Izuku to move out of the way as soon as he did this more and more people tried to grab him before turning to attacking him. In hope not to hurt any of them he rocketed into the air to avoid them he starts heading to the cave
Batman: “Bruce, can you understand me or at least hear me?”
Bruce com: “i'm here and i saw the broadcast”
Batman: “how did he do that interference thing”
Bruce com: “shriek must’ve found a way to interfere with the vibrations of air molecules”
Batman: “huh?”
Bruce com: “air molecules carry the vibrations of human speech”
Batman: “well that what i guess for sleeping through physics”
A couple hours later
Izuku had made it back to the cave and had spent a couple hours since getting back trying to locate Shreeve.
Bruce: “he’s using a jamming signal im sure of it”
Izuku: “the only problem is finding where the signals coming from”
Bruce pulled up a map of the city with some locations pinpointed.
Bruce: “here are the places where the effect was most severe but it’s still going to take more time to isolate”
Izuku continues to look at the map before yawning
Bruce: “you should go back to the dorm’s your tied”
Izuku: “im fine”
Bruce: “you need rest i’ll keep working go and get some sleep we’ll need you at fell strength to face Shreeve”
Izuku hangs his head before rubbing his eyes
Izuku: “fine i'll go up to my penthouse and have have five minutes”
Bruce: “no go back to the dorm’s i’ll contact you when i have a location”
Izuku didn't have the strength to argue back. He changed back into his regular clothes before heading back to the dorm. He was making his way back into UA when he saw a crowd of reporters surrounding Aizawa and present mic. He walked closer to try and hear what they were talking about.
Reporter: “eraserhead, present mic could you tell the viewers at home your opinions on Shriek demands”
Present Mic: “look i admire what the batman has done for the city i really do but it’s one life against millions i'm not saying i want the kid to be killed and i know the heroes are doing everything they can to locate Shriek i'm just saying~”
As Miz was talking Aizawa notices izuku watching and decided to speak up
Aizawa: “Mic stop talking”
Reporter: “would you like to make a comment eraserhead”
Aizawa: “yea i would all i know right now is this…that kid has done a lot for this city maybe it’s time the city does something for him”
After saying this Aizawa walks off leaving Mic to deal with the reporter’s. Izuku walks after Aizawa catching up with him out of view and hearing range of the reporters they both walk to the dorm’s
Izuku: “qite the speech”
Aizawa: “how are you holding up?”
Izuku: “i keep running through different out comes in my head several ways this could end”
Aizawa: “and?”
Izuku: “if i hand myself over to Shriek and he kills me both my and Bruce’s secret will be revealed and batman dies i don’t know how it will affect my family or Ochaco and if i don’t several people could die it’s like what Mic said it’s one life against millions…i…i don’t know what to do”
Aizawa was silent for a couple seconds before responding
Aizawa: “i wish i could tell you not to worry that everything is going to be ok but i don’t know what to tell you it’s an extremely difficult position to be placed in”
Izuku didn’t say anything as they were approaching the dorm izuku was about to head into the dorm before Aizawa spoke up again
Aizawa: “it’s a difficult decision one i think only batman can make”
After saying this Aizawa walks away leaving izuku to think about what he said before heading into the dorm as he makes it into the common room he sees the class sitting around watching the news until the class notices him standing there the class signals him to be quiet and look at what's on the news. Uraraka looks at him with a sad and worried expression as he walks up to her as he gets close to her she sees how tired he was. He sits on the couch arm next to her as he looks at the tv he saw the news was reporting on some people’s opinion on what Batman should do. The news went on only for the zookeepers izuku saved the other day to come up on the news.
Zookeeper 1: “sure Shrek's crazy but there's always two side to every story you shouldn't have went round provoking a madman”
Zookeeper 2: “and that’s exactly what batman did and now we're all paying the consequences for him mistake”
Zookeeper 1: “Shriek just wants a little justice”
Izuku grabs the remote and changes the channel to another news station were a reporter was interviewing a random hero
Hero: “batman got us into this mess and now he’s got to get us out of it”
Reporter: “ even if he has to sacrifice his own life”
Hero: “us hero's sacrifice and put our lives on the line all the time why should everyone suffer over a private dispute”
Jiro: “what the hell is wrong these people batman has done so much and this is the thanks he gets”
Katsumi: “they're all spineless bastards!!”
Kaminari: “i mean think of what he did at the USJ if it wasn't for him and All Might we might be dead now”
Tsu: “exactly *kero”
Jiro: “not to mention he also saved my parents”
As the class keeps talking, Izuku smiles slightly at the words as he slips off to his room only being noticed by Uraraka and Izumi. Izuku goes to sleep for a couple hours when he wakes up it was only about an hour before twelve an hour before he had to face Shreeve. He walks down to the common room only to find Uraraka and Ace sitting on the couch waiting for him.
Izuku: “come to see me off”
Uraraka: “don’t do that not now”
Izuku: “do what”
Uraraka: “act like your not going to sacrifice yourself”
Izuku holds his hand our for her to take which she di only to be pulled in to a hug
Izuku: “you know why i have to do this right?”
Uraraka: “yeah doesn't mean i have to like it”
Izuku: “i'm not asking you too lord know i don’t want to do this”
Uraraka: “but you have to”
Izuku: “you know i'm going to do everything i can to come home…to you”
Uraraka: “i know but that doesn't mean i can’t be worried”
Izuku: “it’s not like i don’t know it’s a trap”
Uraraka: “Then why are you going?”
Izuku: “sometimes you have to go head first into a trap knowing it's the right thing to do”
Izuku pulled her into a passionate kiss for a couple seconds before separating
Izuku: “i’ll see ya soon Ocha i promise”
Izuku separated from her before trying to leave, only for Ace to bite the back of his shirt, stopping him. Izuku turns around as Ace lets go. Izuku kneeled down and starts petting Ace
Izuku: “i know you don’t want me to go buddy but i have to so be a good boy for Ochaco ok”
Ace barks in response. Izuku gets up before walking to the door. He gives both of them one final look before leaving the dorm to the cave. As Uraraka watches Izuku leave she clenches her fists before running to her room. As she bursts into her room she goes to her wardrobe grabbing some stuff before telling Ace to stay. As Ace lies on the floor Uraraka goes to her balcony before using her quirk to float to the ground and running off.
At the cave
Bruce was listening to the new’s as he tries to locate Shreeve he was pulled from his search when he heard footsteps behind him as he turn to look he saw Izuku walking towards him in the batsuit with his mask pulled back
Bruce: “Izuku!?”
Izuku: “you sound surprised”
Bruce: “you can't seriously be thinking about handing yourself over to him are you?”
Izuku: “that wasn't my first choice no”
Bruce: “i wouldn't blame you if you decided to stay home after what all those ingrates have been saying”
Izuku starts looking at the map before responding
Izuku: “i didn’t get into this or want to be a hero for gratitude and i have a feeling you didn’t either”
Bruce gives him a small smirk before they both go back to looking at the map. Izuku changes the map from a flat 2D image to a 3D one. As izuku’s eye’s skim the buildings one catches his eye a building that splits off into two towers almost resembling a tuning fork as soon as he got a good look at it he knew that was where Shreeve had to be
Izuku: “that’s it that’s how he’s doing it”
After saying this Izuku splints for the door while pulling his mask back on
Bruce: “how? How's he doing it?”
Izuku: “im sure of it he found a way to adapt the kilmmas bay for kamma”
Bruce: “what i can’t understand you he must have started the interference”
Izuku points at the towers on the screen before running out of the cave and to the towers. As he was making his way to the towers a figure with similar pointed ears like Izuku’s followed him while keeping a fair distance away from him.
After a while
He lands in between the towers and walks up to one of the towers. As he places his hand on the tower feeling a strong vibration confirming Izuku’s theory about the towers being used as a giant tuning fork. He was about to head in when a strong sound wave knocked him back before he could be knocked off the tower’s he ejected his hand talons out digging them into the ground stopping himself before he could go over the edge of the building. He was about to get up when Shriek fired a wave of sound at him before it could hit him he rolled off the building using his talons to cling to the side of the building once the sound wave passed him he quickly threw a batarang at him only for it to be destroyed by a sound wave the attach happened to cause a dust cloud to appear. When the dust cloud disappeared Shriek looked at where izuku was only finding he was gone Shriek looked round trying to find him only to be punched by izuku knocking to the ground. He was about to dive on Shriek only for him to slash Izuku, damaging his suit a little. Shriek got up and fired a large ground wave at Izuku only for him to rocket into the sky before landing on an unfinished part of the building.
Batman: “ka fah! Braymon ka-ta!”
Shriek turns the dial on the center of his suit, turning off the interference.
Shriek: “this isn't how i wanted it you were supposed to give yourself up to me”
Batman: “really well you should have gotten it in writing”
Shriek: “funny lets see how funny you think this is”
Shriek suns the dial on his chest up to the point that Izuku has to grab his ears in pain. It got to the point that he fell off his perch and to the ground in front of Shriek. As Izuku was on the floor in pain Shriek takes off his helmet and hearing aid making him unaffected by the excruciating sound.
Shriek: “now that the entire city is on their knees in pain i finally have the advantage”
Shriek fires a powerful soundwave knocking Izuku off the ground and through a tower's window into a control room. Seeing his surroundings Izuku crawls towards a control panel as Shriek jumps from the broken window into the room. Izuku manages to use the panel to get to his feet as Shriek grabs him and throws him across the room using a sound blast. As Shriek looks down he sees an explosive batarang attached to the panel before Shriek could grab the batarang it explodes destroying the panel and sending Shriek back while stopping the sound. Inranged Shriek fired the most powerful sound blast he could at Izuku; the blast knocked him through the wall behind him and outside. Izuku got up and tried to run for cover only for Shriek to fire a blast at a truck near Izuku causing it to fall towards him. He tries to get out of the way of the truck only for it to land on his foot. Shriek walks up to him as he tries to get his foot loose Shriek was about to fire another blast at him only for a shuriken to hit Shriek’s gauntlet causing it to backfire disorienting him. Taking advantage of this Izuku pries his foot out from under the truck and punches Shriek in the face knocking him out. As soon as Shriek was knocked out Izuku looked over to where the shuriken came from only seeing a figure with pointy bat-like ears in the distance.
Batman: (who they hell was that)
As he watched the figure disappear into the distance. He takes the shuriken before several police and heroes arrive offering to help Izuku only for him to ignore them as he heeded off.
The next morning
Izuku was in the dorm kitchen pouring himself a cup of coffee while looking at the shuriken. His attention was drawn to the dorm room door quickly; he hid the shuriken as Uraraka walked to the kitchen looking like she hadn't slept all night. She immediately walked up to him hugging him before stealing his coffee and dragging him to the couches. Uraraka leaned on his shoulder sipping her stolen coffee while Izuku was making guesses of who the figure was.
