Yukinoshita's POV
The competition is going to be held in a week and we are not given any specific information about it. None of us have any idea how this competition is going to turn out. Even though it sound weird Ayanokouji-kun joining the club may be a bit useful as it would be easier to talk to him and work with him for the competition. The teacher's word about him still doesn't fit in my mind.
After the classes today I asked Ayanokouji-kun to talk to me later. He hesitated at first but I made him agree. So we decided to meet after all our club activities.
"So what do you want to talk about?" asked Ayanokouji-kun.
"I want to talk about the competition which is gonna start in a week. We have really less time and no clue about the key information about the competition. So I thought it would be fine if we talked and sorted out about this thing."
"I really thought a lot but I guess I am not so interested in the competition. This is not going to effect our scores or evaluation. It is just being held for a welcoming setup for the freshers. So I don't think I will be of any help to you." replied Ayanokouji.
It actually disappointed me. There were only 6 days left and even if it was not so important I still wanted to win this competition. After Ayanokouji left, I began thinking what to do next. Now I am starting to regret that I didn't actually make any friends from the class.
So I decided to talk with my group for this matter. I called them in the night to get some response.
"So how well is your preparation going?"
"Everything is going pretty well Yukinon. I have made many friends and we are trying our best for the competition." replied Yuigahama.
"Uh.. I actually am trying to talk with my classmates here. Its just that I don't like them much as they are no less that fools who waste their entire time. I will try talking to them tomorrow. What about you Yukinoshita?" said Hikigaya.
"I am trying my best but getting together is something I am not being able to do." I replied.
Later then i ended the call and started to think about the competition. If Ayanokouji-kun is not willing to help me there is very less chance that I can do anything. Even if Ayanokouji-kun was helping me I don't think i would be much big. He doesn't seem to have good abilities which may be useful in the competition.
Ayanokouji's POV
Yukinoshita asked me for help related to the contest. Even if I have no interest in all these things this may actually matter in my scores because universities like this one can do anything unpredictable. Even if they said that this competition is just for fun this may be a source for our scores as well. The next day while going to the class I met Horikita.
"Well after you finally join a club, you must also be prepared for the competition aren't you?" asked Horikita.
"No not much. Moreover I declined a request related to the competition the previous day." I replied.
"That's rude of you. You should go and provide help to your classmates. You are gonna spend some years with them after all." said Horikita.
"As you know me Horikita, I hate being the center of attention. So I guess if I will I will probably work from the background just as I did in the Island Test of our first year in ANHS." I said.
"Its so like you. Fine do whatever you want. I will be looking forward to compete with your class. For now I take my leave. The classes are gonna start." said Horikita. She then left. She still had not told me about the second guy. I guess I will get to know about him/her in the competition.
I soon went to the class as well and I saw Yukinoshita in face completely full of worries. I knew that she was worried about the competition but I didn't know that she was this serious about it. I then sat on the seat when a person approached me.
"Oh hey there. My name is Tatumo. I don't think we have talked before this but I am the representative of this class as from today. Also as the competition is in next 5 days, for the reputation of the class I would like to know if you could offer any help." That confidence in his face showed how well he is in talking with people. Yukinoshita looked at us when he asked me the question.
"I don't think I will be a big help. Actually I don't take part in extra curricular activities and I am not that good at anything. So I guess I will pass on." I replied. Yukinoshita was still staring at us. So after Tatumo left I asked her about the situation.
"Nothing much! I was just curious as you talked with someone in the class for the first time."said Yukinoshita.
" It's not that I don't talk. I can talk but there should be someone worth talking to." I replied.
"I see! So you really have no intention of helping the class in this competition." she said in a sad voice.
"Its not like I don't want to help. I just don't want be the center of attention." I replied. She was about to speak when the teacher entered the class.
"So the competition is going to take place in 5 days. You better be prepared. No one is holding back on this. You have to keep yours and my reputation. Now let's begin the chapter." said Zetsibaki. I guess I was the only student who knew his real name. Also the way he is saying us to not hold back is confirming that my thinking about the competition was right. This is going effect our scores.
As my luck couldn't go worse I met Sakayanagi at the canteen in the lunch break.
"So what is your intention in this contest. You are going to participate aren't you? Just in case my class is all set for this competition. I hope we get to have a clash in this contest Ayanokouji-kun." said Sakayanagi. She left after saying that. Horikita said the second person was from the same class as Sakayanagi. I just hope its not someone who can create more fuss around and disturb my peaceful life. Also according to my sick sense my father is also plotting something new against me.
Then after lunch and taking the leftover classes I went to the club room. For some reason Yukinoshita was alone today. I entered the room and took my seat. Then I asked her about Hikigaya and Yuigahama.
" Where are the other two? Didn't they come today?"I asked.
"No they did come but then left for their competition practice." she replied. So both of them were actually serious for the competition. Yukinoshita was in deep thinking which I knew about the competition.
"So did you think anything about the competition?" I asked.
"Nope, I have not talked to anyone yet. So I have no idea what I am gonna do." she answered. She was in stress and I didn't want to disturb her more. So I decided to go back in the dorms but she stopped me.
"I don't know what to do. But there is one thing I want to ask. What did the teacher mean that day? I mean what did he mean by saying us to turn you into human." she asked.
"Actually, I am not like you all. I don't have any emotions. I don't care about anyone until I win. That's what he meant." I replied showing her my deadly eyes with my poker face on. For the first time I saw her terrified. I know what she saw in my eyes. My eyes had nothing more than verge of darkness. But I knew I overdid it. She was terrified and not moving at all. I tried to calm her down and after sometime she did calm down.
Just after some time Yukinoshita got back to her usual self. It seemed she again began to think about the contest. Man she is one hell of a girl. Just after some time she left her seat and looked towards me and shouted.
"We are gonna participate and win this thing. I don't care if you are willing to help or not. If you really care about winning you should do whatever you can do too. I won't hold back anymore. If it is it I will play this competition as I am fighting a war. So in simple words, I declare war against the other classes. So Ayanokouji-kun I ask you for the last time. Will you help me in this competition or not?" Damn, I am surprised to see her take stand like this. Declaring a war against the other classes, who even says that.This also confirmed that she could go reckless and do something disadvantageous. So I guess I have no other choice than this.
"Fine, if you are this serious about this competition I guess I have no choice but to help you. But I still warn you. Don't ever trust me completely." I replied.
"I have no fear about that. We are gonna beat the other classes and take the spot of number one. You better not hold back."
So like this I became a part of her team in this competition. Also she actually managed to talk to some other guys and made them join our team. So last 4 remaining days, we practiced all the activities we possibly could. Surely I didn't show my full potential and acted as an average. I guess it will be same as the old high school times. That is working from the shadows. I just need to think about Sakayanagi's class as she will go beyond everything to beat me. But I promise one thing with Yukinoshita as my pawn, I will crush anyone who comes in my way.
