Here's another update everyone. Do share your thoughts with me in the comments. Also it's a love- hate relationship so it will take time for Shah Zain to realize his mistakes and mistreatments towards Shiza.

Shiza's POV (Edited)

As we made our entry, almost every head turned in our direction. My palms turned sweaty and I started to feel nervous. There were almost above hundred people and they were all staring at us. I was getting self-conscious. I turned my head to look at Shah Zain. But he seemed least bothered by it. He was looking ahead proudly. Of course, it's not a big deal for him. He had attended these functions many times in his life.

But not me.

My breathing went erect and the muscles in my body seemed to be stiff. I think he probably noticed the change in my posture because the next thing he did was lean down. My breath once again hitched and he mumbled slowly into my ear

"Take a deep breath and let yourself loose."

I merely nodded my head. His presence make me feel unusual sensations. He straightened up again and I followed his advice before relaxing my body. We both walked further and he greeted some of the people, I presumed to be business partners. He talked with smile and politeness. Two things he never use when he talked with me. The business people asked about me so Shah Zain slid his hand around my waist before introducing me

"This is Shiza Mir. My wife."

The person ahead of us smiled and stated politely

"Oh I see. How are you, young lady?"

I smiled lightly before answering

"I'm fine."

I kept my answer short. I don't know how to conversate with businessmen. Shah Zain and they talked for some more before we made our way further into the hall. The function was hall was pretty big. It was decorated prestigiously. The chandeliers stood high up in the air. The stage was set perfectly. There were table for the guests and we chose one. As we sat there, he once again leaned down and stated

"We have to act like a decent married couple infront of the guests. So, don't get stiffened the next time I touch you."

I nodded my head before facing the stage. Some person was standing there speaking about business and all. It was a party purely for businessmen. I could see the richness oozing out of their clothes. Their wives adorned the expensive clothes. Some of them were even eyeing me suspiciously. It was expected as our wedding was highly private and only important people were invited.

Some even tried to talk to me and tried to ask me the real reason of marriage but all I did was telling them a fake story of how our family wanted us to get married. Some of them believed that story but many of them were still suspicious.

They have every right to be. I'm not a high class girl nor did I belong to any rich business man family. It will raise questions that how Shah Zain could marry a simple girl like me. One of them was about to ask another question when Shah Zain finally decided to but in

"Don't mind me. But can I steal my wife from you?"

The ladies laughed secretly before nodding their heads. I heaved a big sigh of relief before turning to Shah Zain. He pinched his bridge of nose before muttering

"These ladies are always so nosy."

This is the first time I agreed with him too. They were practically trying to invade my personal life. I am so thankful that he decided to break their little interrogation session. I then said

"Thank you so much for coming in between. Otherwise, I don't know how to handle the situation."

He nodded his head before warning me

"You will see thousands of them like here. Beware of them. Try to limit your conversation with them as short as possible."

I nodded my head and again turned towards the stage where the host was now presenting a tribute award to one of the business man present here.

As the time passed by, we both sat quietly. We didn't even talk to each other rather we chose to reply to small questions that were thrown in our way by yet some other nosy women who were adamant to know about our married life. This time Shah Zain does all the talking and told me to sit quiet. I didn't protest because I know that he can handle them better than me.

I am new here and I don't know what they all think off me. Shah Zain answered them really easily and cleared all their doubts without even sharing anything personal. He must be have question by those questions alot since he knew when or how to answer each particular question. It was almost the end of the function and I was pretty relieved that it went smoothly.

Shah Zain was called upon for a group picture which includes all the young businessmen present here. He looked hesitant and turned to me. I remained quiet not understanding why he was looking at me. Finally, he asked

"Will you be ok?"

I merely nodded my head. I assured him

"You can go. I'm sitting just here."

He nodded but before standing up and buttoned his coat. He once again looked at me before saying

"This will take only five minutes."

I nodded my head and he went for the stage. The stage was not that far away. But one couldn't see someone sitting as far as me. It was at a maximum distance. I was busy admiring the decorations of the room when a strange yet familiar voice greeted my ears

"My my!! Who am I seeing here?"

I turned around in confusion but my eyes widened when I saw the person standing infront of me

"Mr. Barzan!"

He chuckled before muttering

"Glad you atleast remember my name."

I don't know but I don't like his way of talking to me. I also don't like the way he stares at me. It's like he wants to see the inner me and trust me, it's the most disgusting thing to be notice. He roamed his eyes around my figure making me clench my fists.

I had always maintained my distance from him even when I was working for him. He used to invade my personal space and his dark voice made me nervous. I had often found him stealing glances at me when I was working for him. He is just not a green flag to me.

His voice brought me out of my trance

"Where is your husband dearest?"

I chose not to answer that question. His presence was enough making me nervous and I don't want to stand long in his presence. So I excused myself

"Excuse me. I need to go."

I turned on my heels to leave but his hand got wrapped around my wrist stilling my movements. I immediately stiffened and reacted

"Leave my hand."

His just chuckled darkly before saying

"Not easily."

His voice was giving me goosebumps. His hold was tight and I was trying my best to free myself. His hold got tightened causing me to wince. Ya Allah! Please save me. I looked around for Shah Zain but since I already told you, he can't see me and now I can also not find him anywhere. Tears blurred my vision but I refused to cry. Mr. Barzan smiled darkly before speaking

"I always knew you were different. How easily you trap the richest man and married him like that. I almost felt bad for letting you go."

His sentence made me tremble. Disgust filled my entire body before I try to jerk his hand off. He still didn't leave his hold and I'm sure that by now bruises will be forming on my wrists. He came closer and seethed

"Don't worry. He can't keep you long enough with him. I will steal you from him very soon."

My insides tremble and I hold the urge to sob. I was finally able to succeed in freeing my hand. I slapped him hard on his cheek. His face whipped to the left direction. I'm sure he wasn't expecting that. I breathed heavily before leaving away from that place.

I want to go home. I can't stay here any longer. I want to go home and snuggle into the blanket forgetting every second of that incident. I was walking mindlessly when I bumped into someone. I was about to lose my balance but the person was quick enough to hold me. He was Shah Zain. As he took a look of my condition, he immediately asked

"What the hell happened?"

At this time, my tears were flowing freely. I couldn't control it and started to cry. He got even more confused before he asked

"Hey, what happened? Why are you crying?"

This time his voice held softness into it. I tried to answer but my sobs weren't dying and I was gasping for breath. He immediately took ahold of my shoulders and made me sit on the nearby chair. He knelt down infront of me before taking hold of my palms and asking once again

"What happened? Why are you crying?"

I sniffled before saying

"I want to go home."

My voice was parched and it seemed like my throat just took a long trip to the Sahara. He nodded his head before asking a passing by waiter to bring a glass of water. He again looked at me before saying softly

"Ok, I won't ask what happened. But just drink water and then we will leave, ok?"

His voice was soft as he was talking to a toddler. His behavior shocked me. I never thought that Shah Zain Mir will be behaving nicely with me. As the waiter brought water, he made me drink it before I stood up. But I stumbled causing him to grabbed my shoulders. He then said

"Relax. I'm here."

We both made my way outside and the valet brought our car. He opened the passenger door before I quietly sat. He took his place before driving away from the venue. My sobs had died down but my hiccups didn't. I was still pretty much shaken up. Mr. Barzan's sick words were playing in my mind over and over again like a tape recorder. I heard Shah Zain's worried voice

"Oh god! Shiza, you're shaking."

As he took hold of my palm, I winced. He didn't fail to notice it and immediately stopped the car. He fully turned to me before taking my palm in his hand. He lifted it and saw the burned mark on it. Thankfully, he didn't see the bruise as it was hidden because of the lack of light. He looked at me and instantly asked

"When did it happen?"

I sniffled before answering

"In the morning."

He closed his eyes before taking a deep breath. Then he again asked

"Why didn't you apply any medicine? Look, how red it is now!"

He carefully examined it before dropping my head back on my lap. He drove back home and the whole ride passed in silence.

When we reached home, it was almost midnight. As he opened the door, we were met with darkness. Everybody must be asleep. We quietly make our upstairs. He closed the door before saying

"Go sit on the bed."

I sat on the bed quietly. He disappeared into the bathroom. I sat there thinking about today's event. It was going smoothly than why did Mr. Barzan had to ruin it? His words were still playing in my mind making me cringe. I didn't realize and once again tears started to leave my eyes. His words held some kind of promise. I never gave him any signal. I always thought of him as a boss nothing else. How did he get the idea of it?

My thoughts were broken when I felt a soft touch on my eyes. He wiped my tears and I opened my eyes. His concerned eyes greeted me. He placed the first aid kit on the bed before asking me

"What happened, Shiza? Why are you so shaken up? What happened after I left?"

I remained quiet. Should I tell him? Will he trust me? Will he think that I am some character less girl who was trying to seduce her ex boss? Will he see me as those types of girls? I shook my head at him. He closed his eyes before saying

"Ok. Don't tell. I won't force you too. But let me treat your wound."

He asked with such delicacy that I couldn't stop myself. I forwarded my hand before he took out the necessary stuff. He gently cleaned and applied cream on the burnt part. It did sting badly and I tried to take my hand back when he tightened his hold and stated

"It will be ok. Just two minutes."

I nodded my head before closing my eyes. He wrapped the bandage on my hand before placing it on my lap. He sighed before saying

"It's all done."

I sighed and said

"Thank you so much."

He nodded his head before standing up. He was about to leave to the bathroom but stopped in his tracks and turned around. I faced him waiting for him to say something. He finally uttered after a two minute long silence

"Next time, first take care of yourself. Don't let yourself get hurt while trying to take care of others."

He went inside the washroom leaving me utterly shocked and confused at the same time....
