It was showen in multiple clips of MAMA that when Val saw that someone was missing that he would turn back around, find the member(s) and guide them back to the group by putting his Hand on their lower backs.

Val had been caught multiple times gossiping with other Idols, nobody knows what those conversations were about, but are amused when the tattooed idol uses dramatic facial expressions.
