"Tate, can you help me?" Pedri asks as he's over at the grill and I get out of the pool, going over to him.
"What do you need help with?" I question as he shrugs.
"Im just bored over here by myself. Waiting for them to cook is annoying." He says as I cross my arms.
"You can always just like keep an eye on them, I never set timers when I make burgers." I suggest as I poke his arm and he gives me a look.
"What if they're undercooked?"
"Then you just keep them on the grill longer." I state, but it sounds like more of a question. "Tell me you don't cook without telling me." I add as he frowns.
"You're always cooking for us. I would cook every once in awhile but you like took over that role. Let me help every once in awhile." He suggests as I shrug.
"Okay fine. Since you can't train you can help me more with cooking and shopping and stuff like that." I say as he raises his eyebrows, looking away.
"I meant like just cooking, but sure everything else too." He mumbles as I lightly smack his arm.
"You're a real funny guy."
"You think so?" He smiles as I cross my arms, shaking my head no.
He clicks his tongue as I look at the door where Pablo is walking out with a girl. I turn around and look at Isabelle as she nudges her head slightly and I nod, "I'll be back. We have to go vibe check this girl." I say as he kisses the top of my head before Isabelle gets out of the pool.
We walk over to Pablo as he gives us a look, shaking his head no as I begin nodding. "Hi." I say as we go over and she turns around, smiling. "I'm Tate." I say as I reach my hand out.
She shakes it and Isabelle does the same, "I'm Isabelle."
"Nice to meet you both. I'm Mia." She says as I look behind her at Pablo and his hand is covering his mouth as he's looking at us.
"Nice to meet you, just figured we'd introduce ourselves so you can know some friendly faces." I smile as she chuckles.
"I knew who you both were already, but I appreciate the warm welcome." She says as she turns to look at Pablo and he smiles.
"See you around hopefully." Isabelle smiles as we turn around, going towards the picnic table. "Thoughts?" She whispers as I purse my lips.
"She seems nice, it's a little off putting though." I say as she scoffs.
"I thought the same exact same thing about you." She admits as I shrug.
"Pablo is really nice though to be fair, so it feels fitting. Like I know opposites attract or whatever, but if you look at who everyone is dating, they're like the same." I say as we look around at everyone.
"That's so true actually. Gavi and I, Ale and Indi, Lani and Jude, and even you and Pedri." She says as I nod. "That's weird to think about now, I hate that you pointed that out because now it's going to be all I can think about." She adds as I look over at Pedri, crossing his arms with a frown as he's staring down at the grill.
"He's so cute even if he's pouting." I mumble as she raises her eyebrows slightly.
"Im glad you two were able to fix whatever was going on, you deserve that." She whispers as I smile softly. "How's he doing with his injury?"
I blow out a breath as I tilt my head slightly, "He went to his first physical therapy appointment today for his hamstring, but besides that he's still pretty upset about it."
"That's understandable."
I nod as I stand up, tapping the table, "Tate!" Pedri yells as I turn to look at him, and he waves me over.
"Oh yeah, and he's being clingy as hell." I say as she laughs.
"That can be good sometimes though, right?" She asks as I shrug.
"It's kind of cute, but he also doesn't want to leave my side, so it's a bit weird." I say as she goes and jumps in the pool and I go over to Pedri as he wraps his arm around my shoulder.
"Do you think they're done yet?" He whispers as I grab the spatula from him, lifting it up slightly as I nod.
"Yes." I say as I hand him back the spatula and I hold a plate as he begins putting the burgers on it. When he's done we go over to the picnic table with all of the food and I set it down as everyone begins to get out of the pool and hot tub, grabbing food.
After about 15 minutes everyone finishes eating and Pedri and I go inside, making lemonade. "What if we like actually make the lemonade, I know a good recipe." I suggest as I grab lemons and he nods with a smile.
"Works with me." He says as I put a saucepan on the stove.
"Can you grab sugar?" I question as I begin measuring water into the saucepan, and adding the sugar once he grabs it, before we begin juicing the lemons.
"Do you just know recipes for everything at the top of your head?" He jokes as I shrug.
"I mean It's only simple syrup and lemon juice. It's fairly easy, but yes, my brain is just filled with recipes."
"My brain is filled with you. You take it all up." He says as I roll my eyes with a smile as I begin slicing lemons.
"Yeah is that so?" I question as he nods, leaning against the island as I put the sliced lemons in a pitcher with ice. I move so I'm next to him and he wraps his arm around me and I wrap my arm around his torso, my thumb rubbing his v-line as he looks down at me. "Hmm?" I hum as I look at him as his thumb rubs against my shoulder.
"Nothing." He smiles as I shake my head, looking at the stove. "You know out of everywhere you could do that, why pick there?"
I shrug, "when my arm is around you that's just where my hand is. And it's like what you do to my shoulder, just like a reassuring thing." I say as he nods, "plus you have a good v-line, so." I add as he laughs.
"Yeah, yeah." He mumbles as I look at him and he puts his free hand on my chin, tilting it up as he kisses me.
"I know you two are dating, but it's still weird." Ale says as he walks in the kitchen and I pull away as I clear my throat, going over to the stove, stirring the simple syrup.
"Thanks for your input." Pedri says as he crosses his arms, giving ale a look as he nods.
"Of course, anything for you two." He jokes as he fills up his water bottle. "Did you meet Mia?"
"I did, she seems fine I guess." I shrug as he nods.
"She's really quiet, but I mean that's kind of expected if it's her first time meeting everyone." He says as I nod, pouring the lemon juice in the saucepan.
"As long as she's not one of Lucy's minions I'm sure she's not terrible." Pedri says as Ale laughs.
"Yeah hopefully not, we don't need anything else like that around here. Because everyone is like actually happy." He says as I smile.
"You're right." I say as I look at Pedri briefly as he smiles, and then back to ale as he puts his lid back on his water.
"I'm always right." He mumbles as he walks out of the kitchen and seconds later he bursts out laughing before he goes back outside.
I click my tongue as I pour the simple syrup and lemon in the pitcher, adding the water after as I stir it. "Try it." I say as I pour him a glass and he drinks it as he gives me a look.
"You should make more." He says as he pours himself even more. "This is good."
"All of those recipes engraved in my brain are paying off." I joke as he nods.
"No seriously though, this is so good." He mumbles as he hands me his cup and I try it. "Good isn't it?" He questions, as if I wasn't the one who just made it.
"So good." I say sarcastically as he frowns.
"Okay Miss pouty, looks like my attitude spread to you or something." He scoffs as I side eye him.
"Yeah because you're just such a bad influence. Can you go bring the lemonade out?" I ask as I begin juicing more lemons and he nods, going outside.
After a few minutes he comes back in with the empty pitcher and I give him a look, "everyone got a glass of it, so it's good you're making more." He says as I smile.
"I guess so." I whisper as he narrows his eyes at me.
"You're adorable." He mumbles as he comes over, leaning against the counter as he's watching me slice lemons again.
"Earlier when I was talking with Isabelle and you were cooking the burgers, you were like frowning and staring down at the grill, but it was so cute for some reason." I admit as I pour the lemon juice in the syrup. "Like it was one of those moments where I was just like yeah, that's the guy I chose."
"Yeah me and the grill had beef." He shrugs as I smile.
"Dad joke."
"I want to be a dad." He mumbles as I turn to look at him, pouring the syrup in the pitcher.
"Pedri."
"I know, I know, too young." He says as I nod. "But like if you accidentally got pregnant then like I'd be okay with it, you know?" He adds as I give him a look.
"I feel like you're going to sabotage it or something so that I get pregnant." I joke as he tilts his head slightly as if he's thinking. "Bro."
"Right, right. That'd be bad." He mumbles as I stir the lemonade.
"Give it like 4 years." I say as he groans.
"4 years? Tate that's ages away." He pleads as I smile.
"Okay fine, I want to be at least 21 before kids, and then you'll be 22 by then. It's still young but it's a compromise." I suggest as he purses his lips.
"And then married by the time you're 20." He smiles as I scoff.
"Pedri I'm literally 20 next month." I say as he nods.
"Bingo, guess we got to get married then." He shrugs as I look at him, shaking my head with a smile.
"It's cute the amount of effort you're putting into this." I state as he smiles. "Okay fine, here's more of a compromise, we will know when the timing for everything is right. I wont set an age to it, we will just know, yeah?"
"A win is a win." He mumbles as he pulls me into a kiss.
"Either way it's a win with you, let's be real." I smile into the kiss as I wrap my arms around his shoulders.
