Ring... ring... riiiing...
The first Nene sounds heard was her phone ringing.
"Ugh..." She forced herself awake, groggily picking up her phone, seeing who could possibly be calling her awake. Rui...? What does Rui want... Nene questioned in her mind. She pressed the accept button, and held the phone up to her ear.
"What do you want Rui...?" Nene tiredly said.
"Aw, not even a hello? How rude!"
"Rui... you literally just woke me up. Do you expect me to have the energy to say hello to you right now?"
"Fufu... sorry Nene! I have an idea, wanna hear it?"
"No. Now let me sleep. Goodbye—"
"It has Emu in it." Rui said slyly, stopping Nene from ending the call.
"...what are you planning?" Nene asked, getting suspicious.
"I knew you would listen! Now, how would you feel if you and Emu-kun went on a double date with me and Tsukasa-kun?"
What? "A double date? When-?"
"Hmm... I was thinking maybe later today! It is such a nice day out, don't you think?" Nene then took a glance outside, seeing a lovely bright sunny day outside.
"Fine... but where are we even gonna go?"
"Perhaps the mountains! It was fun last time when you and I went there and saw Mizuki, wasn't it?"
"You literally forced me to run... and besides, a mountain? That's a weird date idea..."
"Please Nene? Maybe you and Emu-kun can have some romantic moments, no?"
Nene turned red just from thinking about it, immediately flustered. "S-shut up Rui...! sigh, I'll ask Emu about it, okay?"
"Thanks Nene, I'll text you when to get ready, and location of the mountain. Ta-ta!" Rui hanged up gayly, as the zest fest he is.
He's so gay... especially for Tsukasa. Zesty too. Nene chuckled to herself. Right, I gotta tell Emu about this double date. She'll be really happy about this... hehe, I love seeing her happy. She blushed, already imagining how cheerful Emu would be.
She picked up her phone again, went to her contacts, pressed Emu's contact that said "emu <333", and dialled it. Almost instantly, Emu picked up.
"Hiii Nene-chaaaan!"
Nene smiled, happy to hear Emu's voice. "Hi Emu..."
"Wanna hear about a story?"
"Sure! Go ahead."
"Okay! So—"

Three hours... have passed. And Nene still hasn't asked Emu about the double date! The two girls were just laughing and talking about random things, therefore Nene got distracted.
"Haha! I love calling with you, Nene-chan!" Emu giggled, laughing at something Nene said.
"Hehe... I love calling with you too, Emu..." Nene smiled. Her cheeks started to ache from all the smiling she was doing, but how could she not? Emu was with her, and Emu always made her smile.
Nene almost forgot about the double date, that was until she got a test from Rui saying, "Nene! You and Emu can get ready now, me and Tsukasa-kun are heading to the train station that takes us to the mountains."
Shit. I completely forgot about that! Nene scolded herself mentally.
"Hey, Emu?"
"Hmm? Yeah, Nene-chan?"
"Earlier today, Rui asked us if we can go on a double date with him and Tsukasa. I was supposed to tell you a while ago but I kinda forgot... do you still wanna go?"
"Of course! I would love to go! Where are we goingg? Ooh, and when does it start?" Emu gladly accepted, her smile showing through her tone of voice.
"We're going to the mountains. Its a very weird date place, but Rui picked it. As for when does it start... we're actually supposed to be getting ready..."
"What?! Oh no Nene-chan! We're gonna be late!"
"I-it's fine! I'm sure Rui and Tsukasa can wait..." Tsukasa is gonna be very loud though, but thats okay, I'm used to it. Nene thought to herself.

"Emu, Nene! You two are late! Me and Rui have been standing in the hot scorching sun for an hour!" Tsukasa scolded the two, literally standing in the shade.
"Mhm... scorching sun? In the shade? Pffft, whatever you say..." Nene scoffed.
"Nene you listen here—"
"Now, now you two. Let's not get to arguing already now. Instead, let's focus on getting to the mountains." Rui stopped the two.
"Fine..." Tsukasa rolled his eyes.
"Very good Tsukasa-kun!" Rui said, as he kissed Tsukasa on the forehead. "Let's get going now!" He skipped off, holding (a very red) Tsukasa's hand.
"Come on Nene-chan! We're gonna have so much fun in the mountains!" Emu cheered, holding out her hand to Nene, signalling her to take it.
"Okay, okay..." Nene held Emu's hand.
The four enter the train, waiting for their arrival to the mountains. Nene looks out the window, seeing fresh green grass and water as blue as sapphires. Wow... the scenery is beautiful. Hehe, like an open world RPG. (and yes i did just add that lmao) Nene slightly smiled, admiring the worlds ground as the train moves. Then... she suddenly hears a click sound come from someones phone. Did someone just take a picture of her? She glances at wear the click came from, and saw... Emu!
"Emu? D-did you just take a picture of me-?" Nene blushed.
"Hehe, sorryyy! But you looked so pretty, so I wanted to take a picture of you! Look at how beautiful you are!" Emu showed the picture she took of her. In the picture, Nene has her head rested on her chin, looking at the window with a relaxed expression. It also shows her good side view, and Nene does admit it... she does look pretty in that photo.
"Hmm... I guess your right, hehe..." Nene giggled slightly.
The train then comes to a stop, arriving at the mountains.
"Nene! Emu! We're here!" Tsukasa yelled out.
"Yay! Let's go Nene-chan!" Emu grabbed Nene's hand softly, and ran out the train.
"Ah! G-geez Emu, slow down!" Nene stumbled over her feet, almost tripping.
The second they got out, Nene felt the cool mountain breeze hit her skin. She saw a few picnic tables, a snack bar, and of course, the fresh green mountains. Hopefully they won't walk that long, or Nene will die...
"Alright, we're first gonna hike up the mountains, perhaps enjoy the scenery a bit once we get to the top, and eat at the top mountain picnic table." Rui held down his binoculars.
"You have binoculars-? When did you bring that?" Nene questioned.
"Well... there might be something interesting! So therefore, I brought these with me. We'll be hiking for quite a while, but luckily I brought water! Now... off to hiking!"
"Okay... come on Emu— Emu?" Nene turned to where Emu was, but she wasn't there! Where could have Emu ran off to?
"Emu? Where did you go-?" Nene called out. She looked around, but couldn't find Emu anywhere... that was, until she glanced at the snack bar, seeing Emu buying snacks and stuffing it in her backpack.
Hehe... of course. Nene chuckled to herself mentally.
"I have snacks! Are we going up now?"
"Mhm, Rui and Tsukasa are ahead, so lets go over there with them." Nene held out her hand.
"Okayy!" Emu took her hand cheerfully, as they both head towards the mountains.
I wonder how long is a while... hopefully not too long, like hours.

Four... hours... later... they finally made it to the top. Nene was beat, she could barely walk! She even almost tripped a few times, but luckily Emu caught her. As soon as she saw the picnic table, Nene lazily ran towards it, immediately taking a seat.
Finally... I can take a break. God, I'm starving...
"Nene-chan! You okayy? You look so burnt out!"
"Y-yeah... I'm fine..." Nene breathed out, her legs were sore.
"I have some snacks! Want some?"
"Yes please..."
She looked inside the backpack, seeing all sorts of snacks. Salty, sweet, savoury, all types. Nene settled for the green pocky, taking it out of Emu's backpack.
"Thanks Emu." Nene smiled, taking a pocky stick and letting it hang in her mouth.
Emu then leaned in, biting the pocky sticks other end, getting very close to Nene, who was flushed immediately.
"Hehehe..." Emu giggled out of adoration. "You're so cute, Nene-chan!" She squished Nene's cheeks. Nene was crimson red, barely biting the pocky in her mouth.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGG! RUI, GET THAT INSECT AWAY FROM ME!!!" Tsukasa yelled, his voice echoing throughout the mountains.
"Come on Tsukasa-kun! Its just a little caterpillar!" Rui ran after Tsukasa, laughing mischievously.
"GET AWAY— AAAAAAAA!!!!" Tsukasa tripped over a rock, almost falling over the fence. Luckily, Rui was there to catch him.
"Woah there Tsukasa-kun! Watch your step." Rui had his hand around Tsukasa's waste, smirking.
"I... uhhhh... aksksjqkdhakkasbja......" Tsukasa broke, his face as red as a tomato.
So loud... and so gay, eugh... Nene thought, rubbing her ears. (totally not like Nene wouldn't react that way if Emu caught her)

Now the sun was setting. The four performers were sat on the picnic table, watching the beautiful mountain view as the setting sun shone on their faces.
"Such a magnificent sunset! Right Rui?"
"Mhm, indeed. Not as magnificent as you though, fufu..." Rui smiled.
"Oh! Haha! T-... thanks Rui-!" Tsukasa tried to contain his embarrassment.
"Nene-chan! This day was fun, wasn't it?"
"Mhm... hehe, it was sorta fun. But only because you're here with me..." Nene muttered the last part.
"Hmm? Did you say something Nene-chan?"
"Nope! Nothing at all..."
"Okayyy then!"
Emu rested her head on Nene's shoulder, smiling.
"Nene-chan?"
"Yeah Emu?"
"You know how I used to hate sunsets?"
"Yes? What about that?"
"I think I learned to like them, because you taught me how to."
"Me? Pffft... how did I teach you how to like them?"
"It's because... every time theres a sunset, you're there with me! And in all those times, its always so comforting around you, and relaxing too. I really think you've made sunsets special for me, Nene-chan." Emu looked at Nene, with eyes filled with complete sincerity.
Nene turned pink, looking at Emu with widened eyes. She then smiled shyly, she loved how even though Emu is so childish (in a good way of course), she can be so mature and thoughtful at the same time.
"I love you, Emu." Nene kissed Emu's forehead.
"Hehe... I love you too, Nene-chan!" Emu returned the favour by kissing Nene's cheek.
It was a nice double date though. Sure, Tsukasa almost fell off the mountain, Rui was chasing Tsukasa around, Nene's legs were sore, and Emu was just munching and crunching her snacks which drove Tsukasa so crazy he almost caused an avalanche by being so loud... it was truly a lovely double date to experience.
