Scara didn't know how he got into this situation, being up at 3:45 am watching a random idol anime with his annoying classmate when he could've been studying for the upcoming test, or working on their project.
He sighed as he shifted in his bed, the papers on his desk long forgotten as he watched the anime, and heard his classmate's sobs over the young idol's death.
"why... oh god why did it need to have this... I thought this was wholesome" she silently sobbed through the phone, the man simply ignoring this, and trying to enjoy the anime he was forced to watch
halfway past the first episode, he was glad you finally stopped whining, only to realize you had called asleep. Instead of ending the call, he found himself listening to you. Pausing the video, he noted how you murmured nothing while you slept, how your breath would hitch every so often, the sound of fabric moving indicating your shift in position. But amongst all the other sounds and white noises, something you said caught his attention more than anything else, his name.
"Scara..."
His eyes widened as he heard his name leave your lips. To hear his name in such a soft and sleepy manner, so far from your usual loud and brash tone, had his stomach fluttering.
He hated this feeling, it was like there were butterflies in his stomach and all he wanted to do was crush each and everyone one. No one, and absolutely no one, had ever said his name in a way that had his stomach doing cartwheels, it made him want to trash his room and tear everything apart.
He hated- no abhorred this feeling, convincing himself that he was disguised by it, repulsed even, of course, how ridiculous could he be?

Your sleep-dazed laughter snapped him out of his thoughts, your laugh almost made it seem like you were mocking him, which he thought you would be if you were awake. he tossed his phone aside, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding in.
"this idiot.. seriously," he said as he groaned, putting his arm over his eyes, feeling his cheeks heat up. He scoffed, clicking his tongue in annoyance as he reached over to the phone he had tossed aside, wanting to end the call, but he stopped himself, bringing his hand back to himself. He settled in the sheets, relaxing his body, letting him fall asleep to your breathing, your voice.
