Nick ventured down the other railway pulling a light freight train; Lord decal had arranged for Nick to pull a freight train to barrow to avoid a light engine movement. it took over an hour for Nick to travel to barrow; when he arrived he left his train in the siding and made his way into the scrap yard.

The scrap yard was a quiet place; many rusty shells of engines were scatted around the track side and old rusty rolling stock filled the sidings. Lord decal hopped down from  Nicks cab and walked up to Nick's front:

"Good job getting us hear Nick"

"it was no problem sir"

"good, now I am going to talk with the scrap yard about buying a suitable engine and maybe some rolling stock"

"see you later sir"

"see you later Nick"

Lord decal departed and walked into the scrapyards office and met with the owner:

"hello there" greeted the owner of the scrapyard.

"hello " replied lord decal.

"so your looking to buy an engine ey?"

"yes, preferably one that can be fixed swiftly"

"I see. well I have three engines that are are in great condition"

"what are they?"

" a gwr 14xx"

"too weak for requirements"

"An lms mogul in need of a new boiler"

"too expensive"

"and  finally a drg 80"

"how do you have a drg 80?"

"he worked as a station piolet here back in 1929-1959 he was withdrawn last year he is still in great condition and I am willing to sell him for cheap"

"That's great, I am willing to buy it on the spot but first Can I view the engine?"

"of coarse lord decal, follow me"

The two men departed heading towards the back scrap yard. They rounded a corners to see a sad looking drg 80 class.

"Is it my time?" asked the engine miserably.

The engine spoke with a thick German ascent,

"no quite the opposite" explained the scrap yard owner "this man hear, lord decal , is interested in buying you for his railway"

"really?" asked the engine excitedly.

"yes mark, He is" replied the scrap yard owner.

lord decal walked forwards and spoke to mark:

"If I purchase you will you work hard ?" asked lord decal.

"yes sir" responded Mark eagerly.

"Well then, I better go sign some papers. good day" finished lord decal.

With that lord decal left for the office with the scrapyard owner as mark smiled for the fist time in years.

About 1 hour later:

Nick had collected mark and a small assortment of wagons lord decal had also bought, he was preparing to leave when a stout gentleman approached him:

"where are you taking mark?" asked the stout gentleman.

"to the railway I work on" responded Nick confused.

"I see" responded the stout gentleman as he left.

Mark stared at the man:

"Nick, do you know who that was?"

"no, who was it mark?"

"my old controller"

"I see, why did he send you for scrap?"

"he didn't, the board did"

with that they sat in silence. soon lord decal returned from the office of the scrapyard and climbed in Nicks cab. Then they set off, back to coaldai.
