"hi guys" iris said as she got in the backseat of the car next to nick, lia and clem were sat in the row behind iris and nick having climbed in before iris.
"hi ri" matt said whilst nick and chris also said hi as everyone buckled up and they started driving towards target
"chris can i be on aux pleaseeeee" iris said dragging out her please hoping that chris would let her take control of the music
"no i have the best music taste here dont lie" chris said wanting to be on aux "kid just let her ur on aux all the time, she literally makes music" matt said sighing defending iris knowing chris would give it ro her because although they jokingly fight, chris and iris act like siblings
"HAH" iris said sticking her tongue out at chris who scrunched his nose back at her as he passed her the cable to plug into her phone
as she went onto spotify she turned round to look at clem and lia giving them a look with her signature smirk on her face which she inherited from her dad. they immediately knew what she was going to do and nodded encouraging her to do it knowing it would annoy the boys
iris went onto her playlist named 'taylor fav' and clicked shuffle which happened to make style the first song to be played through the car speakers making the three girls laughing knowing the irony of the song with iris sat in the car but nonetheless they continued to sing
"midnight you come and pick me up no headlights long drive could end in burning flames or paradise fade into view oh its been a while since i have even heard from you" all three girls in the car immediately started singing to the song that was now playing through the car. "i should just tell u to leave cause i know exactly where it leads but i watch us go round and round each time" they sang as the girls faced eachother and used their hands animatedly putting extra detail into the words they were saying
"oh dear god" matt laughed at all three girls screaming the lyrics like they were at a taylor swift concert and not in a car on their way to target
"OH I FUCK WITH THIS ONE" chris said realising the song and turning up the volume which didnt help with the amount that iris, lia and clem were singing
nick threw his head back laughing at matt and chris who were now bopping their heads along to the music as iris was smiling at matt whilst also bopping her head making the whole car have good vibes and all singing it together with no judgement
that was something iris loved about this group is no matter what nobody would ever judge one another, although her and matt were getting to know eachother, which would hopefully turn into something more and her and chris fought like siblings all day long and nick now becoming one of her bestfriends there was never a moment where she felt like they were judging her which was something that the girl found rare to find whilst growing up feeling like she had to fit into this perfect child due to her dad being famous. they just let her be her and never once complained. she was snapped back into the reality when her favourite part and the end of the song hit
"OUT OF STYLE OH YOU GOT THAT JAMES DEAN DAYDREAM LOOK IN YOUR EYE AND I GOT THAT RED LIP CLASSIC THING THAT YOU LIKE AND WHEN WE GO CRASHING DOWN WE COME BACK EVERYTIME CAUSE WE NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE WE NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE" the three girls continued to sing more like scream their heart out until the song finished as iris flopped back into her seat out of breath from hitting the middle console between her and nick during the ending part
"that was kinda euphoric" nick said quickly as the three girls sat there out of breath as everyone in the car chuckled at his comment
they eventually got to target after some more taylor swift songs. they were all walking through the parking lot but were in separate duos, clem and chris who were probably annoying eachother about something on purpose, nick and lia who had become inseparable and were probably talking about conspiracy theories and matt and iris who were behind them all.
matt had tried to give iris his jumper when they got out of the car after she expressed how cold it was whilst stood there in denim shorts and a tank top clearly overestimating the weather but she had told him that once they were in the store it would be fine but he felt bad for the girl so had wrapped an arm around her upper arm and pulled her into his side causing her to wrap an arm around his waist as they walked across the parking lot and into the store
it was times like these when they would both be confused on what they were, they had yet to have the boyfriend and girlfriend conversation but they also both knew that they liked eachother and were on the way to being boyfriend and girlfriend. they didnt mind taking it slow though, they didnt have a reason to rush so they figured that why rush when theres no reason too and potentially mess it up by jumping in too soon. so for now they were just getting to know one another without worrying what others might think, and they were both perfectly okay with that
they were all currently walking through the store to get to the fidget toy section as iris had a huge grin on her face like a kid on christmas
"omg theres so many wtf" iris said when they rounded the corner to see the fidget toys "omg theres a butterfly one how cute" she turned around to show the first person who was behind her which happened to be nick
"omg get it" nick said fully behind the idea of buying fidget toys even though they are 18 and 19 years old
"oh i am, hey matt are u still paying for mine" iris said as she walked over to him grinning at him trying to convince him
"sure ri just put it in the cart" matt said without batting an eye knowing he already said he would buy her it as iris said thanks and walked over to the cart adding it to clem, nick and lias collection of fidget toys they had already put in there
"kid is so down bad its crazy" nick said laughing as he had watched the interaction between the two
"nick literally be quiet the only crazy thing here is ur fit" matt retaliated looking at nicks outfit which was a pair of red pyjama pants and a bright orange sweatshirt that said nick sturniolo photography
"ur jealous u didnt have the idea for this outfit before me dont lie" nick said finishing the discussion and throwing a fidget toy into the cart
they then spent the next hour walking round target looking at different things, they had got to the food section and decided they wanted to do a cooking night at the triplets house for a video so they picked up some pasta and ingredients to make a spaghetti bolognaise with the thought that it would be easy but they could also make it entertaining
they made it to the checkout and paid for all the things that the cart had accumulated whilst walking around before going back to the car as they were walking out iris shouted shotgun which obviously led to chris groaning but eventually giving in and sitting in the middle row with nick and clem and lia at the back
the drive back to the triplets consisted of frank ocean because iris and chris had found they both liked his music so he was their mid ground to the aux music debate
